-Judy is a really REALLY good girlfriend

-literally the best romance option in the game

-she was probably a bit nervous to actually tell you she had feelings for you, because of her last relationships/crushes

-but after you assured her that you indeed loved her back she was over the moon!!

-date nights include going to her lake house and having a good time

-she wouldn't care for "fancy" dates, just you and her sitting on the roof of a house and just talking for hours

-she'd also invite you to go diving with her to show you her old hometown ("I'm picky about my girls" JAZGHDZABJSIGIB)

-Judy loves gifting you stuff and hanging out with you!

-she would gift you a BD she made of her favorite moments together (probably copied it too, because she also wanted to look at it

-you first met him when you went to watch a boxing competition

-then you saw that GORGEOUS boxer with ENORMOUS talent

-he won the fight (pretty easily, even tho he doesn't even have any chrome)

-you went over to congratulate him and he was super friendly

-of course you went to his next competition, and to the one after that, and so on

-it got so bad (or good) that Vik was even expecting you

-he began to look forward to seeing you in the crowd

-it even felt like he was fighting just for your entertainment

-at some point he just asked you out, it was obvious you'd say yes

-you went on a few dates and eventually got together

-anyone from miles away could tell he was down BAD

-when he eventually got second place on one of his competitions he found the courage to tell you he'd stop boxing

-you were fine with it of course, it's his life after all

Muamar Reyes (gn reader)

-let's be real, you were one of many

-he is a FINE man, had a lot of money and he was one of NC's well known fixers

-what more could a person want?

-he really thought he wasn't the one to settle down, until you entered his life

-normaly you wouldv'e just been another merc

-but there was something about you..

-he probably confessed to you, and you returned his feelings

-after you started dating you guys spent more and more time together

-you watching him fix cars, driving around NC or just chilling together at his place

-he's a cocky bastard, so you would have a few arguments over little simple things, but you would eventually forgive him because he's just an sarcastic ass most of the time

-but when you both are overlooking Santo Domingo, without anyone disturbing you two he'd eventually talk about his feelings and how much he loves you

-also he would tell you about his life growing up in Santo, becoming a corpo and then eventually turning into his now-self

-he also would like to have kids at some point, but if you don't want any he's also okay with that (he'd also be fine with adopting)

Misty Olszewski (gn reader)

-she's a super sweet girl!!

-she met you months after Jackies death

-Misty never would have thought she'd get over what happened to him

-but there you were, listening to her problems and taking things slowly

-so after a while, you two fell in love

-you guys could talk for hours on end about the most random things

-also random tarot-board dates and doing silly stuff!

-she'd also read your futures and would teach you to read hers

-she's SUCH an artsy girl (trust me)

-you two would upsycle thrifted chlothes and do random Trends, like the one where you make bracelets based on the others eye color or the Trend where you paint eachother

-she has a thing for plants and candles

-your shared apartment is FULL of them (also those Fragance sticks)

-it constantly smells like a perfume shop

-she's a cat person, you guys would have a black cat 100% (if they'd still exist)

So this ship literally came to me in a dream and now my brain makes the sound of a tea kettle every time I think about them.

Viktor puts up with so much all the time he really deserves some soft squishy romance and Sunny absolutely volunteers.

My canon for them is that they saw Vik fight during one of his last big matches when they were in their late teens and it was an immediate teen crush. Cut to 15 or so years later and they end up at a ripper only to sudden go "oh my god, youre Viktor Vektor..." and its heart eyes all over again. They very flusteredly ask if Vik would want to meet for coffee sometime, which turns into several coffee dates, which turns into adorable smooches.

I actually do plan to write at least a little proper fic for this (hopefully soon) bc I genuinely find it very sappy and adorable. (There will also definitely be more pics coming!)

Born in 2049 to Melissa Kane, Vax was born in the underbelly of Night City. Vax’s life was not easy growing up, their mother leaving them when they were five. They were passed around from some people their mother knew until they were 12 and had to start fending for themselves.

At 13, Vax came out as trans. They’d meet Viktor Vektor two years later after Vax got into a fight with a drug dealer. The fight nearly costed him his eye. Vik offered them a place to stay for a few nights after discovering Vex was pregnant. And after making sure he didn’t have to kill anyone in her honor, they stayed until Vex had her baby.

Vax never left, staying with Vik and learning the life of a merc. Vik taught him to box and how to shoot a gun, how to defend himself. Vax loved the life he had despite his sister leaving after she had her baby. He was already making a quiet name for himself in the streets.

And caught the attention of Nicky Brookes.

At 17, Vax had been walking home after playing some street ball with his friends when he was knocked out and thrown into a car. Winslow Brookes was one of the kidnappers. This would be the start of his downfall into drugs and alcohol. Nicky turned out to be a massive creep and tried to kill Vax by the end of the encounter, to which Vax set the building on fire in his escape, and burning his left hand. It’s still visible to this day.

At 20, Vax left for Atlanta to try and escape Vik’s worry. The man was his father of course but he was ashamed of the life he had taken. He ODed in Atlanta and ended up coming back to Nighy City a year later. In hope of getting clean and reuniting with Vik.

The night he got back was the night he’d meet his savior, Jackie Welles. It started with a simple car job, Jackie aiming a gun at him. The two were then arrested. After being let out, Jackie introduced Vax to his mother, who saw the condition that Vax was in and offered to let him stay. She had dealt with this before, and could do it again. But Vax wasn’t going to just sit there, he helped around the house and became Jackie’s partner in crime. Quickly, he was family.

In 2077, Vax is now 28 years old and three years completely clean and sober. He has his own place and has reunited with Vik on good terms. He and Jackie are making names for themselves. They have a meeting soon with a woman named Evelyn Parker. What could go wrong?

[spoilers] I’m agonising over Vik’s phonecall if V commits suicide.

Because he’s angry. Like the other companions, he’s angry that V would take their own life. He’s pissed that they, of all people, would do this. He starts by refusing to participate in this “No, there’s no fucking point. I mean, she...” His voice is furious, but he cuts himself off. Likely before he can say “She’s dead/gone, what’s the use?” Or “She never said goodybe, why should I?” and you can see his mouth twist as he tries to hold back tears. Then Vik shakes his head and grimaces, frowning because even thinking about her dead is riling up all these emotions inside of him. And again, he’s angry, so fucking angry. I mean, you can see it on his face when he says “She...” he’s thinking about her, reminicising about V. And if my theory is correct that Vik and Misty were the first to find V after the gunshot, then his last memory of her can’t be nice.

Then when Misty says “Do it, you’ll see. It’ll help,” Vik seems to flinch at her voice, as though he had gotten lost in a trance when he thought about V. He can’t look at the camera at first, probably considering standing up and just walking off. Yet, he nods. Because I think Vik has been struggling really hard with V’s death, and that’s connoted by Misty’s words of encouragement. 

Misty is telling him to talk to her through voicemail, and it sounds like she’s been advising he try this for a while. I dont think he has been coping with it well, and he knows he hasn’t. So he tries, because maybe she is right. maybe it will help. Maybe it will help him find some closure.

But Viktor? He’s being stubborn at the same time. Because that smile he puts on? That overtly polite voice and the chuckle? It’s not a nice smile, and his voice sounds like the one you might use to fake politeness when speaking to someone you hate, and his chuckle is his nerves frying under his emotions. It’s sad, petty and he even scoffs. “So, V. How’s the real afterlife lookin’? It as nice as they say?” 

Then his smile drops.

He’s being bitter, setting V up with his false niceties so he can regale her with what he really fucking thinks, because maybe she will hear him, and he will tell it to her straight. Exactly what he thinks. That’s Vik though, bold and straight up. No bullshit, not even when he’s mourning V.

“Cause down here, it’s still shit,” He practically spats this. Like it is V’s fault the world is still this way. He shakes his head again and hangs his head. “Hell, might even be worse than before,” and this time his tone is a little sadder. His head is stull hung low and Vik sighs (someone give him a hug) and then the other side to his anger comes to light.

Vik is angry with himself, angry he couldn’t have done more. Frustrated with how unfair this all was. How he had to watch V slowly dwindle away until finally she bit the bullet after feeling like there was no other way out.

“Just wish I’d have done more..so things might’ve come out different,” He has probably agonised over all the false realities he’s come up with where V gets a cure and lives the rest of her life in peace. Because that is what she deserved...not this....

“Positive energy Viktor!” Misty says, probably used to this line of thinking from him. And he nods, because she has indeed heard him say this before, and he needs to take a page from her book when it comes to dealing with this loss.

Once again, Vik takes a deep breath (Deep breathing is a thing one does when trying to calm themselves down) Before he says “I-we’re gonna miss you kid,” and I’m sorry but; him initially wanting to say “I’m gonna miss you, kid,” but then corrects it to “We’re,” is so...telling of Vik and it fucking break my heart. He hates being emotional in front of people, that’s become very clear in our interactions with him. Even now, when he’s speaking to a dead woman who can’t answer him back, Vik can’t bring himself to break down or weaken in the slightest. He can’t say he will miss V, because that’s too sentimental. 

And right now, he’s not really in the mood to be sentimental. He’s angry at V and he’s angry with himself.

TIRED BISEXUAL DISASTER™

We know this already but this guy is H U G E - 6'3, whoopin’ healthy 219lbs and bUILD LIKE A TANK.

I think he’s around 48-52 years old.

Look I know what I said about socks but hear me out… Vik 100% has a collection of those silly ties with cartoon characters like pokemon etc… he likes that blue one with cats best…

He knew V was special when he finished installing their first implant after they first met and shot him with “So, do I get a lollipop for bein’ a brave patient, doc?” with that cheeky smirk of theirs… even if just for shits and giggles Vik actually gave them their lollipop the next time they visited his clinic. “Fine, you my fave doc now, won’t go anywhere else.”

He has Hamsa and evil eye tattoo on his left pectoral, Misty told him that it meant protection from evil and he thought it fitting as a symbol of starting his career as a ripperdoc - he saves lives after all.

Viktor smokes. Not very often, sometimes he can go several days without cigarettes but if the day at clinic is hard or gods forbid he lost a patient… he smokes like a chimney. By some mysterious coincidence he started smoking even more when V came along. I wonder why?

He genuinely enjoys V’s company. He LOVES when they just sit at the clinic and talk or even just sit in silence. Their presence is really refreshing for this old doc.

Once Viktor, Misty, Jackie and V went to actually eat IN the restaurant. Misty and Vik casually sat and talked but, of course, Jack and V had a sword fight with chopsticks and Vik asked the waiter for two regular menus and for two menus for kids. After V called him “dad”, “pops” or… wait for it… “daddy” for the rest of the evening, Viktor never made the mistake of going out to eat with V. Both V and Jackie still bring it up sometimes much to doc’s dismay. Takeout is much safer option now.

Guess who is the one to always pick up horrendously drunk merc duo at 4am in the middle of the week. Yup. It’s Viktor. Usually they wait for him outside, sitting on the pavement, arms on each others shoulders, singing love songs. Sometimes they burst in tears when they see Vik “coz youre the best friend I’ve had Viky”, “yea, doc, there no other like ya”.

Dad jokes. That’s it.

UNGODLY ALCOHOL TOLERANCE. THIS MAN CAN DRINK AND DRINK AND DRINK AND SAY HES JUST TIPSY. Jackie? Under the table. V? Babbling something about “hopin’ there is real afterlife” while hugging toilet bowl. Viktor? Checking if Jack still breathes and holding V’s hair if necessary. “Amateurs” he thinks.

One of his most beloved possessions is a teddy bear. A gift from V. A they had put it “for caring for people around you and so you don’t feel too lonely here in clinic and, well, for being you”. Little fluffy fella has a special place in Vik’s heart as well as on his couch right beside the boxing gloves.

No one keeps secrets like he does.

He takes GREAT pride in being the only person who knows V’s real name.

Also he’s the person who saw V at their most vulnerable. Bleeding, bruised, beaten, drunk, crying.

As true to their promise as they are, he thinks V’s loyalty is amusing and rather sweet but also dangerous bUT V JUST WON’T GO TO ANY OTHER RIPPER. Found some new chrome somewhere else? They bought it and had it delivered to Vik’s. Small repairs? Go to Vik’s. Bleeding out somewhere in Pacifica? Go to Vik’s. He swears he will strangle them himself one day.

Nicknames. Doll, Sweetheart, Champ, Captain, Big Guy, Charmer, Knock Out, Honey, Sweet pea, Cupcake, Pumpkin… I COULD GO ON FOREVER.

Usually it’s Misty to find him sleeping on his desk but when it’s V and Jack… well… let’s say sharpie can be pain in the ass to wash off from your face.

Jackie got him pink gauges with daisies. As a joke. HA! Jokes on you Jack. He wears them. P R O U D L Y.

My man loves whisky. Nothing like late friday evening and a glass of liquid gold with ice.

Once, when V was keeping him company at clinic after he closed, he tried to be smooth (we all know the way he moves with that chair on wheels of his)… long story short he misjudged the distance from chair and he fell on his ass with a loud *T H U D*. He sat like that for some time. “Oh my god! Vik, are you ok?” “Yeah, yeah, just… give me a moment…” And that was the end of “Smooth Vik”.

Officially Misty is his emotional support spiritualist. Unofficially V is his emotional support idiot merc, but also, like, the cause of most of his frustrations. JESUS V TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF IS THAT YOUR ARM THAT YOURE CARRYING IS THAT ANOTHER BULLET WOUND FOR FUCKS SAKE HOW ARE YOU STILL ALIVE ILL KILL YOU MYSELF I SWEAR. Smeone just give him a hug please.

Seriously, I thought I’d be thirsting for Keanu the whole game...NOPE. I want the ripperdoc.

Blaze, the guy who sent Viktor that threatening message (that you can read on his terminal), he’s one of the scavs you kill in the very first job you do with Jackie when you rescue Sandra Dorsett.

Choosing Denny over Henry was literally the easiest choice I had to make in this game.

Look, Takemura, I know you’re loyal to Saburo and all, but he and everyone in his family are pieces of shit. Every time you talked about how much you respected Saburo and his daughter made me want to stab your eyes out. 

I know that Takemura is super high on everyone’s “I wish he was romanceable” list, but he’s definitely not on mine. After everything I did for that ahole, he told me to go fuck myself in the credits when I took the Nomad ending. SCREW YOU TAKEMURA. 

Viktor, why aren’t you romanceable?

It’s SO good! I don’t think I got so invested in a game since Mass Effect. I know everyone is angry for the crunch time/semi-unfinished release, but please throw your hate towards the studio execs/higher ups and don’t take that anger out by insulting the game itself. I can tell that there was a LOT of love and effort that was put into this game and I appreciate all the artists, writers, designers, and everyone else who worked on this.
