ELVIS GIVING ALL THE DOLLAR BILLS HE HAD ON HAND TO A SOLDIER.
The White House trip, late December 1970.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Elvis Presley (1) Army years, ca. 1958 and (2) December 1970.
PLANE TRIP FROM LOS ANGELES TO WASHINGTON D.C. ON DECEMBER 20, 1970. I had to snap into action to work out all the details for Elvis’s return trip to D.C.—lining up our airline tickets, making preboarding arrangements, booking our hotel rooms, and hiring limos to get us to and from the airports. There was no way to do this without spending some more of Elvis’s money — I charged most of it to his American Express card. A short while later, with Sir Gerald [Elvis' favorite Limo driver in L.A., according to Jerry] again at the wheel, we were driving back to LAX. It had occurred to me that we might need some cash during the course of the trip. I didn’t have any (not an unusual situation for me back then) and Elvis didn’t have any, either. All we had was his credit card and a checkbook that I’d found in his desk at Hillcrest. The ever-resourceful Sir Gerald spoke up and said that he knew someone at the Beverly Hilton Hotel who might honor a check for $500 on a Sunday night, so we made the stop there and succeeded in getting the money. Elvis handed it to me for safekeeping. We got to the airport and were the first to board our red-eye flight. As the rest of the passengers boarded we noticed that there were an unusual number of soldiers on the plane — guys coming home from Vietnam who had first stopped in L.A. and were now heading back east to their homes, just in time for Christmas. Many passengers recognized Elvis, and he was cordial with everyone who said hello. Before the plane took off, one of the soldiers came up the aisle to stand next to Elvis and talk with him. He told Elvis what a big fan he was, and Elvis took an interest in the young guy, asking him where he was coming from and where he was heading. I saw that the two were having a very friendly conversation, and my attention drifted after a while. It was refocused when Elvis put a gentle elbow in my ribs. “Where’s that money?” “What money?” I asked. But I’d seen enough of Elvis’s gestures of generosity to suspect what was coming next. “The $500.” “That’s all we’ve got, Elvis.” “You don’t understand—this guy’s just come home from the war. He’s going home to see his family. I want him to have the money.” The soldier got the $500, and I was suddenly in the strange situation of traveling across the country with Elvis Presley, [alone and] absolutely penniless. Excerpt "Me and a Guy Named Elvis: My Lifelong Friendship with Elvis Presley" by Jerry Schilling (2006)
A little something extra to add to this story, something possibly easy to understand, but anyway. Think about today… it's becoming increasingly uncommon to pay for things with real money, we mostly use debit/credit cards - even our cell phones and watches can be used to pay for a purchase. Back in the days there were places that only accepted real currency as a form of payment - it was the 70s. Imagine being alone with Elvis Presley, a guy who wanted everything done as quickly and easily as it could be (TCB), wanting or needing to buy something and you, the only one responsible for him, not having the means to buy it and having to find a way to do it fast, out of nowhere! Jerry really wasn't in an easy position at that moment, but everything turned out just fine.

THE NEW GLOBAL FINANCIAL SYSTEM IS COMING!!!!
Tumblr media
Masters of the GCR/RV: The Financial Revolution Unfolding!
The Global Currency Reset (GCR) and Revaluation (RV) are not just financial terms—they represent a profound shift in the global economy. Exotic currencies like the Zimbabwe Dollar, Iraqi Dinar, and Vietnamese Dong, once dismissed, now stand at the center of this seismic transformation. Coupled with the Quantum Financial System (QFS) and the groundbreaking NESARA GESARA Act, these forces are dismantling the corrupt financial structures of the past and ushering in a new Golden Age.
Zimbabwe Dollar: Rising from the Ashes Once a symbol of economic collapse, the Zimbabwe Dollar (ZWL) is poised for resurgence. Backed by vast natural resources, including gold and diamonds, its revaluation could redefine wealth distribution globally.
Iraqi Dinar: A Powerhouse in Waiting The Iraqi Dinar (IQD), suppressed by decades of conflict, is ready for a comeback. Iraq’s immense oil reserves position the Dinar for a historic rise, turning its holders into potential beneficiaries of immense wealth.
Vietnamese Dong: The Silent Contender The Vietnamese Dong (VND) may be undervalued today, but Vietnam’s booming economy and strategic global role make this currency a sleeper hit in the GCR.
The Quantum Financial System (QFS): A Game-Changer The QFS is not just a financial system—it’s a technological revolution. Designed to eliminate corruption and provide transparency, it promises security and fairness. XRP and XLM, digital assets tied to this system, are set to replace outdated financial instruments, making them prime opportunities for savvy investors.
NESARA GESARA: A Blueprint for Global Equity This monumental reform package aims to forgive debts, redistribute wealth, and establish a gold-backed currency system. With mandates for humanitarian projects, it’s not just about money—it’s about building a better world.
Tier 4B: The Informed Few vs. Tier 5: The Oblivious Masses The informed Tier 4B, aware of these shifts, stands ready to benefit. In contrast, Tier 5, tethered to outdated systems, remains blind to the change. This is an Information War, and knowledge is your most valuable asset.
The Time to Act Is Now! The GCR/RV isn’t speculation—it’s happening now. The future belongs to those prepared to seize the moment. Will you rise to the occasion, or will you be left behind? The choice is yours.

BRICS Summit: Brazil Blocks Venezuela's Partner Bid Amid Expansion
Tumblr media
Although Brazil is the first country in the BRICS acronym, it is not the most powerful member of the group. It has a smaller economy than those of Russia, China, and India, and it also lacks nuclear weapons. But because for years BRICS remained small and exclusive, adding only South Africa, Brazil enjoyed internal influence.
That could all change as BRICS experiences a growth spurt. Four countries joined the group in January—Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates—with more in line. China has long sought to expand BRICS to boost its influence, and the group’s growing use of non-dollar currencies became more attractive to some countries in the wake of Western sanctions on Russia.
Cuba and Bolivia are reportedly on the list of 13 new BRICS partner countries announced Wednesday, as well as NATO member Turkey, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Partner status is not the same as full membership in BRICS, but it could be a doorway to it in the future.
While growing interest in BRICS accession increases the group’s clout, expansion also stands to diminish Brazil’s sway. Not only that—the addition of U.S. antagonist Iran complicated Brazil’s longtime claim that the bloc was “not against anyone,” as Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira said this week, but rather in favor of correcting inequities in the international system.
“At present, the group is torn,” Jorge Heine and Ariel González Levaggi wrote this week in Foreign Policy. “China and Russia would like to build it into an anti-Western entity, while Brazil, India, and South Africa would prefer it to take a stance closer to nonalignment.”

The Beatles and Vietnam (part 1/?)
My Roman empire is whenever my favourite bands have songs in my mother tongue. Today's case is the most influential band of all time, The Beatles (now why im sounding like a freaking interviewer). I wanna share yall a 1987 record by an overseas singer named Kiều Nga (overseas artists are conservative due to the complications behind USA's most infamous war crime - Indochina/Vietnam war). It will take me long to explain the whole thing, so i will break it short while writing about that record. You can find it here on Spotify (im so grateful to still get chances to listen to it, bc the real tape costs quite a lot in my currency, but i can link you where to buy. it's around 32$ in foreign currency. and the fact that it still exists tho i thought it would become a lost media 😭)
This is not the only songs that were covered in Vietnamese, as there was this version of Something by Don Hồ (1992), or You won't see me by Thúy-Hà-Tú (a pre-1975 girl band (?)). You can find some other different and later covers besides the 1987 record on a local channel here. The Beatles and Beatlemania became a worldwide phenomenon during the 60s, and in Vietnam it was no exception. There were so many young bands inspired by them, and even one of our big song-writers Phạm Duy was a fan of them. The Beatles left a foot print in our flow of music during the war. And iirc, there was a commotion (?) relating to the rock n roll wave and The Beatles in the late 60s - early 70s. In old magazines, image of The Fab Four were on almost every pages! It shouldn't be a surprise to me but i'm still so shocked to learn about how the 4 guys brought love to my beautiful homeland, and so many early fans who were, and still are in love with them, like me, a youngster in 21st century. I mean, who am i even kidding, not my country being an inspiration behind those well-known songs.
The 1987 tape was produced by Dạ Lan Productions (originally Mây Productions), and it was numbered the 46th.
Some fyi/disclaimer ig: I did mentioned of why this is a conservative topic. I am a nothern Vietnamese. And Dạ Lan Productions was a product by the overseas singers who followed the lead of RVN/South Vietnam. But i have been growing up with many kind of music without bothering to care whether it is against the government's ideal. And i'm not the only one who has that thought. Most Vietnamese are working class/peasants, and not much gain access to higher education. Music is the beauty of life, and the heart of the composer. Whether it's bad or good deed, it's only love that matters. Not like all of us understand the true nature of communism or capitalism, we only want peace and love, and that war is over. Our current government is no longer against most RVN artists and it's legal for this kind of music to be spreading now.
Dạ Lan tape 46 is a cassette tape featured 10 translated Beatles songs by various artists, with Yesterday/Mới hôm qua, And i love her/Và tôi yêu nàng, Here comes the sun/Vầng dương sáng ngời, Michelle/Michelle yêu dấu, Strawberry fields forever/Tình yêu cuối trời on side A; and I want to hold your hand/Đôi tay thiên thần, Let it be/Chớ âu lo, Ob-la-di Ob-la-da/Cuộc tình Desmond Molly, The long and winding road/Dấu đường tình, If i fell/Một mai nếu yêu anh on side B. Most of them stay accurate to the og, except the Vietnamese version of SFF has a whole new name and meaning (roughly translated as Love in the end of the world??). Mind you that when western music arrived to this land as a result of the first colonization by French, there started a trend named "nhạc ngoại lời Việt", which means creating a whole new lyrics on the original foreign song. I mean it's obvious that not many understand about copyright back then, and the music was only circulated in the country. That era was called "Tân nhạc Việt Nam" (Vietnamese modern age music), along with the modern changes of literature and many forms of art. The overseas singers who moved to a new land during the war mostly were against VietCong, so this kind of music was banned in the northern. Except it broke the wall and bridge that held the grudge.
I will make this a long series to break down the history of The Beatles and Vietnam's connection (will have tag as well if anyone's interested and want to follow) and compare the difference between both versions, as well as finding more information on this topic bc im so invested. There are still concerts and shows running by this generation fan of The Beatles, and im so grateful to be a part of it. I mean, isn't it wonderful that The Fab are still listened by 21st children, like what Brian once predicted?
Thanks for coming to my Ted yap (i'm a professional yapper)

Day 13 - Templemania!!
Well, a few uploading problems last night, so I have tried again this morning - hopefully with greater success. As I was saying, the hotel is fantastic - but it seems to be a microcosm of Cambodian life in that there is a greater divide between the rich and the poor than in Vietnam. It is, relatively speaking, an expensive place to visit and the favoured currency is the U.S dollar - food and drink, museum entries etc, all quote prices in U.S dollars. There is a Cambodian currency - the Riel - but, in the tourist industry, it is rarely used. For the locals, compared to Vietnam, it is more expensive. Our guide, Bute, has told us stories of his upbringing, and it seems his whole life has been a struggle - surviving the Killing Fields as a five old, mother dying young, trying to provide for his family. His work as a guide is infrequent, so, when he does have work, and he takes some tourists out to a lake with a floating village on it, he will take his fishing net with him to hopefully scope up some fish to take home and cook for his family. I am just an Australian postie, but, purely from where I was born, it has given me a life people like Bute can only dream of. Makes you want to cry really…

The top 10% of wealthy Americans now own 70% of national wealth and nearly 90% of all stocks
When all the wealth, property and assets of a country are owned by a small minority of the population, what's even the point of Private Property other than to make sure it never benefits ordinary Americans?
Private Property is a scam. Most Americans will never own Property, stocks, bonds, or other major assets.
Eliminate Private Property and return the assets of the United States to its people and return a large portion as reparations to victims of US Imperialism: Native American Nations, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, the DPRK, Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen, Iran, Syria, Serbia, Palestine, Iraq, Panama, Venezuela, Honduras, Columbia, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Chile, Cuba, Grenada, Haiti, and nearly the entire sub-saharan African continent.
Even some places the US has never entered militarily have still been destroyed by US Economic Imperialism such as Argentina or Sri Lanka.
The US's favorite weapon of choice when Military options aren't available or prudent is, of course, the IMF.
By virtue of being the world's reserve currency, the US dollar enjoys privileges no other economy does. It can seemingly endlessly print money to fund wars across the globe without any major inflation. This is because, as the world's reserve currency, the US Dollar is always in demand, and so never suffers the kind of inflation Argentina or Sri Lanka might. As long as dollars are in demand, inflation can be staved off.
Meanwhile, other countries must purchase dollars in their own currencies in order to conduct trade. These other countries that don't enjoy "special relationships" with the US like Britain, France or Germany must purchase US dollars at exchange rates favorable to the US since the entire trade system is dominated by US institutions, and therefore the institutions of Wall Street.
If another country tries to print money the way the US does, no one in the West will buy their currency, cratering the currency's value and spiking inflation.
So while other countries must produce surplus value in order to purchase US dollars, the US sits back and collects that surplus value even as the US doesn't even have to produce value to get dollars, it can just print them as they recently printed up $300 BILLION DOLLARS to bail out the super rich depositors at the failed Silicon Valley Bank, First Republic Bank and Signature Bank.
And so, when a country fails to purchase US Dollars and is facing bankruptcy, in swoops the IMF with emergency loans.
These loans not only have to be paid back in full with disadvantageous interest rates, but come with conditions for "Structural Adjustment", in other words, Neoliberal "reforms" that require the country receiving the loans to sell off public assets such as SOEs to the US and its allies, eliminates or reduce public pensions, eliminate wage protections, job safety and public safety regulations, benefits such as paid family leave and sick days, restrict collective bargaining rights, Union and worker rights, along with eliminating things like the minimum wage and limiting social spending, infrastructure funding and even their Healthcare system, all while making a Nation's natural resources available to Western Corporations to steal and exploit.
It's truly Imperialism at its most efficient. First the US created a global financial system that makes it difficult to impossible for impoverished nations to dig themselves out of a hole.
Then the US provides loans with conditions that weaken the state and its people's rights to fight the changes to come. The loans themselves overburden the nation and quickly bankrupt it, forcing the country to go crawling back to the IMF for even MORE Structural Adjustments that further weaken the state's ability to intervene in the economy to help its people while further bankrupting the country.
And the cycle just keeps repeating while the US sucks the wealth, resources and manpower out of its victim.
And so, the US owes reperations across the globe for it's Military AND Economic Imperialism.
And even after reparations have been paid, there will still be plenty of wealth left in the US to make its Working Class healthier, happier and wealthier across the board.
Organize to fight the US Capitalists and Imperialists now!
Join your local Socialist/Communist Party or Organization and start fighting for REVOLUTION!
