she feels like a idiot, which is a new, entirely unwelcome thing for vienna. she'd come to this party to gain the upper hand over them, to prove she's over whatever fucked up relationship they'd found themselves in, and now she's the one sulking by the bar. it takes her a moment to tear her eyes away from the scene they're performing — because she's nothing if not a masochist — but she manages to eventually, downing the rest of her drink in an attempt to get drunk enough to forget.

War AU x Second Love

Lmao Sam this is literally the plot to the Nandopoleon AU this exists in my head 😭😭

So Fernando is Napoleon, right? And Napoleon had two wives, right? Mark is his first love(i.e. Josephine), older than him, and who he is deeply in love with but has to divorce because Mark can't really provide anything(i.e. no political advantages, infertile, etc.) So Fernando needs to make a political marriage. And who does he marry! The young son of one of the most prominent monarchies in Europe: Lance, Archduke of Austria.

Lance is very resistant to this at first of course. All grumpy like, "Dad, why do you want me to marry the guy who just defeated us in four separate wars. He's literally beaten us since practically my birth, and now I have to marry him? Yuck." Both him and Fernando come into the marriage with bad expectations, Lance despising Fernando for all he represents and Fernando viewing Lance as just a means to an end. But Lance fits in to the kingdom very well and Fernando comes to adore him and pamper him all the time. And suddenly Lance to his father is all like, "the Emperor is great actually 🥰 I was so wrong 🥰"

Meanwhile Mark is just forced to the side, and has to watch while Fernando's love for him diminishes, and his love for Lance grows. They still talk a lot and spend time together, but Mark is constantly sniping at Fernando about his new "wife."

I think Lance would stick by Fernando's side during his exile and subsequent return. He grows to be more loyal to Fernando than to his own family and original kingdom. And even though Fernando originally just views him as a means to an end, he eventually lets Lance fight alongside when they are eventually drawn back into war. Maybe in this AU, he actually wins 😔

Episode 4 done! This series just dgaf anymore about anything lol

I have a lot of thoughts but I'm going to boil it down to the one thing that has been bothering me since the beginning of the season: I can't stand Sisi. She has become the charicature many authors make of the real Elisabeth, the utterly selfish woman that only lives for pleasure and thinks of no one but herself. Which would be fine as a character arc (I don't love it but character regression is an arc nonetheless) but I just don't feel that is how it's being presented. Sisi taking Rudolf in the middle of the night without even a lady to help her was stupid, her trusting a random woman and agreeging to travel with her was even more stupid, her leaving Rudolf with the father of the random woman while she goes out is the most stupid thing. But the way things so far have been framed, Sisi is in the right because we know (solely because of hindsight) that the military training is going to be awful for Rudolf. It's only in episode 4 where Sisi's actions have been presented as, if not wrong, at least mistaken, but to me she has been wrong the entire season. But let's see how they wrap this up in the next two episodes.

The only positive thing I can say is that this is at least consisting with the way her character has been since season 2, in which she also made impulsive desicions without thinking on the consequences. The problem is that so far there hasn't been any consequences lol no wonder she just does whatever she wants at this point.

THEY MADE HER PROMISE to share the ice if any of the others wanted it. she isn't necessarily supposed to be getting extra ice time, especially with the men's team liking their extra time too, but she needs it. even after a few weeks, her knee doesn't feel right. she's doing fine in games, connecting with her teammates like she had before the injury, but something still feels wrong. unstable. she isn't so sure it's not just her head. it's the sound of slicing ice that breaks her from her thoughts, glancing up from her water bottle to meet his eyes. "i hope they made you promise to share too, 'cause i'm not ready to get off yet," she teases lightly. really, if he needed the ice alone, she'd let him take it. "getting in some extra work?"
