3C Director VidurBharadwaj – Driving force behind Green Sustainable Real Estate Development

Vidur Bharadwaj, the director of the 3Cs company, is a Delhi based architect responsible for conceptualising and developing a number of landmark projects in India. One of his well acclaimed projects is Green Boulevard, a beautiful Green building in sector-62 Noida. The structure is the world’s largest platinum rated Leed certified Green building from USGBC of the United States of America in Shell & Core Category. The building is a multi-tenant project, which is based on the concept of creating a congenial campus like environment, where every tenant can share common areas, facilities and still retain their privacy. The structure has three towers, built in a way, which gives all the towers the view of the road. The lower floors consist of an Amphitheatre, a gym, a cafeteria and shops, will help to form an area of common interests.

The Private areas, which comprise of offices, start from the second floor onwards. The design of the building is such that it traps natural light and maximizes views. It has shaded landscape court with water bodies and plants to reduce the room temperature. The shaded stilted landscape areas create an easy visual & physical connection among the people, which create an interactive environment.

The North-South Orientation of the campus is such that the building gets minimum sun light from the North whereas it gets maximum sun from the south. The structure is designed and constructed in a way to cut- off the heat and get glare free light.

The Green Boulevard is a Green Building but is also inspired by historical heritage. The structure is constructed keeping Mughal architecture in mind. Unique power and water saving technology have been incorporated in Green Boulevard. The campus not only conserves the nature but the project is a classic, stylish, sophisticated and outstanding piece of architecture. Vidur Bharadwaj 3C the architect of the Green Boulevard was awarded for this master piece in the year 2005 by the President of India.

Green Boulevard has a very interesting and an important feature which makes it unique from others. The construction team of Green Boulevard has taken extra steps to save electricity. The area of the building is huge but the air conditioner planted here is that of one tonne capacity that can address 850 sq./ft area as compared to the normal specification of 250 sq./ ft area. This has a major impact on the electricity consumption by the structure. This project in particular has won many awards like “The Green Development of the Year” award during the estate awards in 2010. Green Boulevard is India’s second building to be awarded for “Carbon credits”.

As per the building simulation result, the active and passive features of Green Boulevard together help in consuming 40% less energy when compared with other office buildings. The special design of Green Boulevard maintains a balance between environmental responsibility, energy efficiency and resource efficiency, comfort zone of the occupants and community sensitivity. This project has been infused with history, heritage, nature, modern technology and eco-friendly construction all together. This makes the “Green Boulevard” extra-ordinary special and distinct from other campuses.
