ROG Ally X terá 24 GB de RAM e o dobro de bateria, indica vazamento

Ainda falta infos oficiais da ASUS, mas o vazamento é real

Eis que temos as especificações técnicas do ROG Ally X, o novo modelo do PC portátil da ASUS para jogatinas em alto desempenho. E, conforme se especulava, o dispositivo terá mesmo 24 GB de RAM e uma bateria de 80 Wh, que promete o dobro de autonomia da versão atual.

Antes de tudo, vamos esclarecer: todas as informações a seguir foram vazadas pelo site Videocardz. Não existe um anúncio oficial por parte da ASUS, por enquanto. E, a princípio, tudo o que tínhamos de rumores sobre a memória RAM e a bateria do ROG Ally X realmente estão se confirmando.

Preço e disponibilidade do ROG Ally X

Por enquanto, o ROG Ally X continua sem uma previsão de lançamento. É bem possível que essa informação chegue logo, impulsionada por este vazamento de especificações.

Até lá, a ASUS irá se pronunciar sobre o dispositivo, que também não tem preço oficial divulgado. Porém, especula-se que ele possa custar em torno dos US$ 800 (cerca de R$ 4.125 em conversão direta aproximada).

Por fim, vale lembrar que o ROG Ally X não é o ROG Ally 2. Ou seja, ele não é uma nova geração para o portátil, mas um modelo atualizado e melhorado do original antes da chegada do sucessor. Algo nos moldes do PlayStation 4 e do PlayStation 4 PRO.

Arrow Lake-S, Intel’s soon to be released desktop processors shall support the Thunderbolt 5 as per the recent leak from the tech world. The improvement in wired connectivity standards may have a transformative impact on the use of external GPUs because it would offer unheard-of data transfer speeds and performance gains. Identified by VideoCardz in the leaked presentation slides posted by YuuKi_AnS on X (nee Twitter), the announcement, despite not yet having been officially confirmed by Intel for now still managed to excite watchers of technological advances. Thunderbolt 5, which Intel first disclosed near the end of last year, is set to boost the performance with up to120Gbps bandwidth and PCIe Gen4 x4 support. “Thunderbolt 5 is a milestone for wired connectivity’ said an analyst. ‘It's not just upgrading incrementally; it signals the beginning of radical innovations, especially in the external GPUs.” The existing wired connectivity options have however so far limited the use of external graphics processing units, which are currently very popular in gaming laptops to boost the graphic functionalities. This can possibly change with the introduction of Thunderbolt 5 by Intel’s Arrow Lake-S processors which will make these solutions very much applicable and efficient. “Think of the power a super-advanced graphics card running at full speed, hooked up externally to your notebook,” suggests an expert in gaming hardware. It might revolutionize small form factor PCs and the solutions behind space constraints. Despite the fact that Intel’s Meteor Lake CPUs have missed out on Thunderbolt 5, its high-end Raptor lake Refresh (HX) chips for laptops are already capable of integrating this standard. With Arrow Lake, Thunderbolt 5 is going to launch a full-scale invasion into the desktop domain that many are longing for. An anonymous industry source notes, “Thunderbolt 5 isn’t limited to desktops; it is positioned for the mobile CPUs as well.” However, the drawback of external GPUs has been that they have always had a limited bandwidth due to the existing wired connections which could not use all possible advantages offered by the graphics cards. Thunderbolt 5 is set to resolve this bottleneck due to its increased bandwidth and PCIe Gen4 support. As a tech developer explains, we are now facing the situation where an external GPU can function as effectively as if it was connected directly to a motherboard. On the other hand, yet it is a long way to the universal use of Thunderbolt 5. At the moment, it only applies to Intel’s HX series 14th gen laptops and Arrow Lake- S processors are not expected until late in the year 2025. However, according to YuuKi_AnS, a leaker of the slides in question “Thunderbolt 5 is definitely what will be feasted on later on but it might take until [20]21 or even till [20]3 for going ubiquitous.“ Ultimately, although the true power of Thunderbolt 5 and its implications for external GPU usage might not fully materialize yet, Intel’s Arrow Lake-S processors indicate a key point where high performance wired connectivity becomes really common. This advancement is not only for Intel but also a significant step towards the whole tech industry with its long-awaited IV in Thunderbolt 5.
