WHY ARDEN AS ALINE IS OK

All the people who say Arden can’t play Aline square up.. Ok because Magnus is canonically Indonesian and Harry is Chinese and still plays Magnus beautifully and I couldn’t ask for anyone better. I as a poc understand representation is important. I know Aline is Korean but so what if Arden is Chinese if she plays Aline well then I’m all for it. I however WOULD NOT be ok with her being played by a white / non Asian women. It is important to her character that Aline is Asian. And don’t come at me with “well Luke is canonically white “ok stop there. Luke’s ethnicity was never an important factor in his backstory what was important was that he was a werewolf / shadowhunter and that was where his story lied + Jocelyn and Clary. There was no ethnic tie. Magnus recounts often of growing up in Indonesia and the way of life he lived regrading his background. We don’t even know really what Luke is we just know in the books he is a white male so to me it’s ok that he is portrayed by a black man in the show who does the character justice and is perfectly casted. In short if your race is part of your backstory if it is 100% essential to the character then it is important u be potrayed in that light we NEED more Asian rep -poc rep- lgbtq+ rep in shows. Arden CAN play Aline end of story and she would do it wonderfully if casted.
