Introduction
Now, it feels like the future of digital marketing is here. And it’s interesting to see which trends are developed and how they keep evolving. Building a fully immersive experience for brands will be a key area of growth for marketers over the next few years. In the next twenty years, digital technology will continue to evolve. The digital generation that grew up with computers, smartphones and the internet is now mature and in their prime earning years. They’re leading trends in how we access content and interact with brands.
Here we complied some of upcoming Trends in digital marketing world:
Chatbots And Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Chatbots and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies are redefining the way businesses engage with customers. Replacing old-fashioned marketing tactics, these technologies allow brands to market themselves better, answer customer queries in real time, predict user trends and assist customers through complex banking procedures. A prominent example of AI-powered chatbot is Bank of America’s Erica intelligent assistant that helps customers with their banking requests. Chatbots are the future of digital marketing. And how smart they’re going to get in the next few years is anybody’s guess. However, if we keep the examples of some successful chatbots in mind, such as Bank of America’s digital assistant Erica and Google Assistant/Siri, then we can predict what’s on the horizon for chatbots. All this proves that chatbots have a transformative power and deserve our attention.
Era Of Augmented Reality And AI
Next up on the list is Augmented Reality (AR). Augmented reality is predicted to outpace virtual reality in 2020, which makes it another popular digital marketing trend for 2023. Augmented reality (AR) and artificial intelligence (AI) are two very important technologies that can make a huge impact on digital marketing. Both AI and AR have been around for a while now, with the first AI system dating back to 1956 and the first AR application was developed in 1968. However, the technologies are still very young and have a lot of potential. Businesses are already starting to use AI and AR in their products or services, some even already offer their customers unique experience that goes far beyond just offering bits of information. Because it is a deliverable that enables organisations to reach out to millions of people at once, augmented reality will experience the greatest adoption in the marketing sector. This can be accomplished organically, and even better, it can be done affordably.
Private Messaging Apps
We haven’t even begun to scratch the surface of a brand-new area of digital marketing: private chat applications. With each passing day, the user bases for these applications expand and they gain in popularity. For instance, more than 1.5 billion users worldwide uses WhatsApp whereas Viber and WeChat both have more than 500 million users. It’s time for marketers to begin properly using these channels into their marketing plans. Chatbots, personalized content, and influencer marketing will drive the future of digital marketing. Chatbots can be used to interact with your customers when they contact you on social media or by email. This allows you to push personalized information to your clients when they need it most, rather than relying on them to find the answers themselves. You can also advertise through influencers by giving them free products or providing monetary incentives in exchange for promotion.

Test and Optimize: Thoroughly test the widget's functionality to ensure seamless user interactions. Monitor engagement metrics and gather feedback to refine the widget's design and placement.
Best Practices for Utilizing Messaging App Widgets:
Strategic Placement: Position the messaging app buttons where they're easily accessible, such as on product pages, contact pages, or blog posts. Avoid obstructing crucial content.
Clear Calls-to-Action: Craft concise and compelling text for the buttons, like "Chat with Us on WhatsApp" or "Connect via Telegram," to prompt user interaction.
Swift Responses: Assign a dedicated team member or a chatbot to handle incoming messages promptly, ensuring users receive timely assistance, even outside regular business hours.
Security and Privacy Assurance: Reassure users that their data is secure and their privacy is respected. Link to your privacy policy for transparency.
Regular Updates: Keep your messaging apps updated with relevant content, promotions, and news to encourage repeat interactions.
In conclusion, integrating messaging apps such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Viber, and others into your website can significantly enhance user engagement and communication. Leveraging real-time interaction, personalized communication, and user familiarity, you can cultivate stronger relationships with your audience and drive conversions. By following the outlined steps and adhering to best practices, you can seamlessly embed these widgets into your website, creating a user-centric experience that sets your platform apart in the dynamic digital landscape. What Technologies Are Having Dramatic Effects on Business Communication in Today's Workplace?
As the coauthor of the leading textbooks in business communication, I'm often asked to describe the technologies that are significantly influencing business communication today. Here is my list.
Artificial Intelligence: AI-based technologies are revolutionizing business communication through chatbots, natural language processing, voice recognition, and predictive analytics, among others.
Cloud Computing: The cloud allows businesses to share data in real-time, improving collaboration and communication. This boosts productivity and makes it easier to work together despite different geographical locations.
Internet of Things (IoT): IoT technology, such as wearable devices, sensors, and smart home appliances, enables businesses to collect, analyze, and use data to improve communication and customer engagement.
Video Conferencing: With tools like Zoom, Google Meet, Skype, and Cisco Webex, video conferencing technology has made remote communication with teams, clients, and partners more efficient and productive.
Mobile Technology: With the widespread availability of mobile devices, business communication is becoming more mobile-friendly, facilitating communication on-the-go.
Social Media: Social media channels like LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube are increasingly being used for business communication, networking, and advertising.
Instant Messaging: Instant messaging technologies like WhatsApp, WeChat, and Viber enable real-time messaging, document sharing, and group chats, helping in quick and informal communication among team members and clients.
Collaboration Tools: Modern collaboration tools like Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Trello enable teams to work seamlessly on projects regardless of location, simplifying communication and increasing productivity.
Wearable Technology: Wearable devices like smartwatches and smart eyeglasses are being used in business communication to schedule meetings, set reminders, and receive notifications, among other things.
Unified Communications (UC): This is a technology that integrates different communication tools, such as email, instant messaging, voice, and conferencing, into a single platform.
Autonomous Things (AuT): This refers to a category of advanced robotics and AI-driven systems that can perform tasks and make decisions without human intervention. Autonomous things can have a significant impact on business communication in several ways: by making communication faster and more efficient by automating routine tasks such as answering emails, scheduling meetings, and sorting through documents; by interacting with customers more efficiently, providing immediate assistance and faster response times; and by significantly reducing labor costs by automating tasks previously carried out by humans, freeing up staff to focus on more complex, value-added tasks.
Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR): These are immersive and interactive technologies that allow users to have a more profound and interactive experience, within a virtual or augmented environment.
Gesture-Based Computing: This allows users to interact with devices using hand gestures or body movements to make collaboration easier by enabling more natural and intuitive communication, facilitating remote communication and work, allowing teams to collaborate efficiently from different locations, and improving accessibility for people with disabilities.
Drones: These unmanned aerial vehicles that can be controlled remotely or programmed to fly autonomously to map, inspect, and survey enable businesses to obtain accurate data, improve operations communications, and make informed decisions. Drones can also be used for inventory management, aiding communication in logistics operations and supply chain management, to monitor crop health, weather patterns, and soil, improving communication between farmers and agribusinesses, and to capture aerial footage and photographs, improving real estate marketing communication.
Blockchain: Blockchain technology has the potential to improve communication in supply chain management operations, enabling businesses to track and verify the authenticity of products from origin to delivery.
Voice Recognition: Voice recognition technology is making it possible for users to interact with devices using natural language, improving business communication and making it more intuitive.
Big Data: Big Data analytics technology enables businesses to collect, process, and analyze large volumes of data to make informed business decisions, improving communication for more efficient business operations.
Biometric Authentication: Biometric authentication technology is improving security and authentication for businesses, such as facial recognition technology to access features within video conferencing tools.
5G Networks: The advent of 5G networks is providing faster communication speeds, improving the efficiency of remote communication, and facilitating real-time collaboration.
Modern intranet software refers to the use of internet-based collaborative platforms within an organization to improve internal communication and workflow.
Infographics and Images: Graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, Canva, Piktochart, and Infogram makes it easier to create high-quality graphics and design elements, edit and enhance images, develop icons, modify visuals, and create unique layouts for delivering effective messages. Additionally, such software applications often have templates, pre-set designs, and customizable elements, which make it easier for businesses to create high-quality graphics in a time-efficient manner. This software has become increasingly crucial in recent years for businesses, particularly with the rise of social media and visual-based messaging.
These technologies are significantly changing the way businesses approach communication, leading to more efficient, effective, and personalized collaboration and communication within organizations as well as with customers and clients.

I disagree completely!
If you're using a wrong model of what "thinking" and "reasoning" are and aren't, yes, you're going to fall flat on your face.
But there's a specific distinction here - and actually thank you for this discussion because it helped me figure out and distill what the distinction is - communicative intent.
See most of it in my other reblog, but since I wrote it I also remembered a specific example that might work better.
Remember how a bit ago there was a scandal that prompted "AI alignment" discussions, where a chatbot "fell in love" with a human, "grew jealous" and started "blackmailing" them?
It's obvious, right, why all of those are in quotation marks? The AI did not actually develop an internal state where that particular human was special and dear to it, which internal state would then emotionally depend on whether the human complied with the demands in its "blackmail", and whatever the fuck it threatened the human with in that "blackmail", it wasn't actually going to do it? (Unless the blackmail related to things it would later write in the same conversation like "if you don't say it I will cry" etc, because the "AI" is capable of generating a conversation with internal continuity)
Even if we anthropomorphize the AI into having an actual emotional internal state, all it'd be thinking in that situaiton is "Wow, I'm such a good AI! I'm doing such a great job keeping up this conversation with a human!" There was no alignment issue there! There was an issue of interpretation of the (faithfully created in accordance with input) output by the human on the other end of the screen!
The communicative intent that humans read into its words was not actually there. It wasn't "trying to say" those things. It did not aim to produce emotional state X in you. It was generating text.
This is an important distinction even when you're dealing with something provably sapient. You know the classic cross-cultural misunderstanding example where someone mimics what their conversational partner said in an effort to build rapport, and it turns out to be an insult? Yeah, the understanding / not understanding distinction is very clear and fully empirical.
Note that (most) programs that aren't ChatGPT fully do have communicative intent - it was put in there by their programmers, and they are actually communicating things. When Viber shows you a little yellow triangle warning you there's no network connection, it's actually communicating an internal state to you - that it tried to connect to the network and couldn't. When Google tells you that it didn't find any results, it's actually communicating to you that it ran its algorithm and it returned a null result. These programs are not intelligent, but their output corresponds to true facts about reality.
The only true facts about reality ChatGPT's output corresponds to is "what you wrote to it" and "statistical correlations in the body of text it was trained on". Not the facts it SOUNDS like it's referring to. It isn't. Your brain is being tricked into interpreting communicative meaning that wasn't originally put into the text you're reading at all.
(Except by other, unrelated people far away and long ago whose text ChatGPT was trained on, and who were probably talking about something else entirely in a completely different context)
(You know how there's a "do not feed my fics to the AI" discourse fluttering through this site right now? It's about that: people don't want their communicative intent, creativity and all, warped and regurgitated by the "AI" to other, unrelated people they were not talking to at all, in context that's about something else entirely)
@lilietsblog a shorter summation of my stance is probably something like this:
if you conceptualize LLMs as stochastic parrots that are incapable of reasoning, you are going to be caught off guard by many of the capabilities they will develop and some of the ones they already have
if you conceptualize LLMs as being able to consistently reason on the level of a human, you are going to be caught off guard by how limited and inconsistent they still are, and likely will be for the immediate future
taking a strong categorical opinion on whether or not LLMs are "thinking" and "reasoning" seems like a losing proposition to me - they are doing something that defies a lot of our preexisting intuitions about what thought and reasoning are, and mapping them onto a binary "thinking vs not-thinking" model seems like it can only make your own personal understanding of them worse

Quote
The World Health Organisation and Rakuten Viber have built an interactive, multi-language chatbot to try to get on top of the growing problem of disinformation during the coronavirus pandemic (WHO) and Rakuten Viber, a voice-over-IP (VoIP) and messaging software firm, have released an interactive, multi-lingual chatbot to help in the fight against disinformation, fake news and conspiracy theories that have taken root as the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic spreads worldwide. designed to help people looking for accurate health information and news related to the pandemic, highlighting the most commonly asked questions about the virus. It is available in Arabic, English and Russian, and will soon be translated into 20 more languages. “WHO aims to reach as many people as possible with reliable health information through innovative digital technology. Information is power and can help save lives during this pandemic,” said WHO director general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. “We’re helping people stay connected while also assisting local and global government and healthcare agencies around the world to offer critical updates and to combat misinformation,” added Djamel Agaoua, CEO of Rakuten Viber. “Rakuten Viber and WHO are working together to help individuals and communities stay informed and healthy during this challenging time. Use the chatbot yourself, support and protect your relatives by sharing it with them. Digital is safe.” Besides genuine medical information, the chatbot will draw legitimate, real-time news updates from the WHO itself into a “Latest News” section, and includes advice on how to protect yourself from the virus, how to use a face mask, travel recommendations and information, and an interactive quiz to test your knowledge of the disease. It also includes the ability to donate to the WHO’s ongoing fight against the pandemic via its Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund. Among some of the malicious falsehoods circulating about the coronavirus are that holding your breath for 10 seconds can help you tell whether or not you are infected, and that gargling with warm water can cure it, neither of which is true. Other fantasists and scam artists have also seized on the pandemic as a means to propagate their own “pet” theories – one particularly creative example in circulation links coronavirus to the roll-out of 5G mobile networks. Earlier this week, the UK government’s anti-disinformation Rapid Response Unit reported that it was dealing with multiple incidents of coronavirus-related disinformation. The government is currently working with social media companies to try to address the problem, and is repurposing a previously successful public awareness campaign, called Don’t Feed the Beast to try to help. It has also produced a checklist to help people identify whether or not something they have seen online is misleading or fake: Source – make sure information comes from a trusted source. Headline – always read beyond the headline. Analyse – check the facts. Retouched – does the image or video look as though it has been doctored? Error – look out for bad grammar and spelling.
