sorry to keep posting about disco elysium. but one of the things i love most about disco elysium is that it completely refuses to allow you to be neutral about anything. if you’re pro-union then you are The Most Communist To Ever Do It. if you’re anti-union then you MUST be a fascist nationalist. if you want to compromise then you are a moralist, OBVIOUSLY, and your new life goal is stagnating progress for the Greater Good. oh what’s that? you keep picking option D because you don’t like any of the above? you dirty fucking centrist. you boring chode. the game spits on you and your attempt at normalcy. no other game lets you unlock the Racist Quest on accident and i think that’s a shame

anyways that is my last game of 2023 ^_^ my goal this year was to finish a new game every month, but unfortunately i did not achieve that bc i became Very fixated on two non-vg medias (atsv and kagepro).. but its whateves! anyways the new games i finished this year were:

- ghost trick

- miitopia

- disco elysium

- totk

- lily's well

- ultrakill (up to the end of act 2 cuz that was all tht was released when i was playing it)

- tingle's rosy rupeeland

with the exception of the two zelda games, they were all really really good!!! the zelda games were fine too but like not as good as the rest. its hard to pick a favorite from the list bc they were seriously seriously seriously really good and pretty and fun, but if i had to pick one then i would choose.... miitopia!! just super unique and so many QoL implementations that made the game such a breeze to play, with such fun music and art direction too!!! i dont plan to play this many games next year, but i hope the ones i play are as good as the ones i played this year ^_^

Favorite Games Played in 2021

This may be the year where I played the most games actually released that same year. I’m usually fairly behind on games, so that was a pleasant surprise as I put this list together. I’m pleased that I managed to find so many games with great narratives, which seems to be the overarching theme, even of ones not included. I couldn’t stick to a top ten though, so instead we just got the best of the best in the order I played them.
