sherlock holmes chapter one is a fever dream of a game with some really good moments and a take on mycroft so good that i haven't been able to stop thinking about it for the past 12 hours tbh. it even has a somber look at the issue of police brutality and some actual moral dilemmas.

overall, if you're willing to look past some questionable choices and absolutely ABYSMAL combat, it is a fun title. just make sure to not be drinking or eating anything during the cutscenes after the final part of the mother's love quest, not to spoil anything, but at one point a character gives sherlock a portrait of him, and without giving off too much that portrait is one of the funniest, most cursed things i've ever seen.

ALSO ACTUALLY it’s quite fun that rook parallels the chess piece since they come into play right at the end of the match and are typically a very important piece because how you use them ends up deciding the outcome of the game
