rambling abt my hearing loss

sometimes i completley forget that i am hard of hearing since I am not fully deaf but it still definitley impacts me all the time. i was going to get dinner with a family member and i could barely hear what she was saying as we were driving and I was sitting next to her in the passenger seat. (I have a hearing loss in my left ear and so I have a harder time understanding and listening with people on my left.)

i still had a hard time when we were eating since it was so loud from the kitchen and the cars driving by. (we were in a waffle house so all the noisy stuff was close enough to be disruptive). i wish i was kinder to myself about it. I need to remember that it is a disability and that even if I'm not fully deaf that it is still disabling.

i remember when i found out my middle school spanish teacher was deaf in the same ear I have my hearing loss. it was nice to know that other people irl in my life had similar experiences to me.
