Questioning Everything

For the first 7 years of my life it was bliss and I never thought that I would have the life that I have now at that age. At the age of 8 years old I was told by my so called parents that I was not my fathers biological daughter. At that age I didn't know how to process that. I had so many questions from that time forward and I never got an answer to. Till I always 27 years of age and found out the truth of who my biological father was.

I was told from the time that I was 8 years old that my biological father was in the Marines and that his name was William Lee Ryan, birthday May 25, 1968 and that he had promised to take my mom away with him but broke his promise to her and he was never seen or heard from again. Which was kind of weird because my adopted father's name was William Lee May, May 27, 1968, and was in the Army.

I always questioned that information because it just didn't seem right that they would have almost the same information and name. But they stuck to that name for 20+ years. So when I finally got the DNA test done in 2017 I found out the truth a couple of months later. I found out that what I had been told for so many years was a lie and my mother knew who my biological father was.

When I confronted my mother and told her that my DNA test did not look right and that there were names on there that didn't make sense because they were mexican names and that is when she said "Oh Sh*t I know who your father is !!!". That is when I knew that I could never trust her again. She gave me his name on facebook, what his children were up to legally and illegal, his birthday was the same as the person they "said" was my father, but the difference was that he was never in the military but was actually a drug addict/drug dealer.

I understand that she wanted to keep me away from that but why keep up the lie for 20+ years and not tell the truth till I got the DNA test done which she never wanted me to get in the first place. Since that time I have never trusted my mother again and I have finally set boundaries to where I don't have any more contact with her. Here is the question that I pose to you reader:

What would you do in this situation?

Would you stop having contact with your own mother if you had this happen to you?

How would you have a conversation with her about this subject?
