he really has to give it to his little brother. his physical strength continues to grow and grow - and believe him, choso feels it the moment their bodies collide. he GRUNTS, surpise & shock causes him to loose his footing, - but it's brief. he's able to, albiet clumsily, plant his feet well enough to keep them from launching forward. Confused, he turns his head, trying to get a good look at his younger brother.

he stands there still - unmoving - worried that so much as a breath will let the moment end. the contact is rare, especially coming from yuuji. their relationship has always been... complicated. so for him to have given such an open sign of affection, - it brings a warmth within choso's chest.

it's almost too much.

that same warmth now burns behind purple eyes, threatening to leak down his face through tears. he raises his arms to rest upon the ones around his waist, giving them a gentle squeeze. a message in return, that for as long as younger boy will allow him to, he will be there for him. for whatever he may need.

art is subjective. there's no correct interpretation of its merit; && there's no defining criteria of what makes something GOOD or BAD. even the imagined prerequisites that people fixate on when judging art through a supposedly “objective” lens aren't fixed or immutable. if beauty is in the eye of the beholder, then so is UGLINESS. maybe that's why he finds comfort in cinema.

art is subjective. junpei believes that the decline of practical effects is a TRAGEDY. CGI has its value, but the extent to which blockbusters rely on it nowadays feels cheap && glossy; the aspect of immersion is lost. superhero movies are among the most notorious of the culprits, he thinks.

itadori doesn't seem to be particularly bothered; quite the contrary, he appears to be un-ironically enjoying the feature presentation. he all but bounces in his seat, the warmth in his eyes catching fire. junpei didn't even realize he was staring.

two  minutes  ago  he  proclaimed  :  well.  gotta  go!

but  gojo  lingers,  leaning  over  the  couch  to  catch  the  end  scene  of  itadori’s  most  recent  movie.  itadori  has  been  doing  well;  his  maintenance  of  his  cursed  energy  is  flowing  more  consistently,  more  stably.  in  hindsight,  gojo  remembers  watching  this  once  before  when  he  was  eighteen,  maybe.  then,  he  owned  the  movie  on  vhs,  even  though  most  everything  was  available  on  dvd.

gojo  throws  tomatoes  at  his  old  memories,  thinks  of  them  as  shoddy  movies.  but  he  watched  this  movie  once  when  he  was  eighteen  —  maybe  around  the  time  when  he  stops  sleeping.  because  that  was  the  time

he  starts  watching  a  lot  more  movies.  when  geto  leaves,  he  starts  watching  a  lot  more  movies.  he  remembers  sitting  on  his  dormitory  bed  with  too-short  pajama  pants  (he  kept  growing)  &  watching  too  many  movies.

sometimes  he  watches  movies  with  his  eyes  shut.  he  can  still  feel  the  light  burn  through  the  lids  of  his  eyes,  &  he  comes  to  the  opinion  that  movies  can  function  as  audiobooks.  it  feels  like  an  exercise  in  reading  between  the  lines  to  guess  each  sound,  each  setting  change,  each  expression  expression  being  made,  each  character.

gojo  has  a  lot  of  strengths.  reading  between  the  lines  has  never  been  one  of  them  —-  because  he  doesn’t  need  to,  doesn’t  think  he  needs  to.

the  importance  of  reading  subtleties  is  debatable  when  he  can  see  sound,  he  can  see  heat.

to  see  things  at  the  atomic  level  sometimes  means  that  he  can  see  when  they  shift,  when  noise  excites  things.

there’s  no  need  for  subtlety  when  there  are  other  tells.

the  problem  comes  in  variance.  just  because  things  move  &  change  &  move  &  change  —  there  is  no  guarantee  that  they  share  the  same  cause  for  motion.  haha,  correlation  is  not  causation.

so  maybe  subtleties  are  necessary  for  understanding  kids  &  teenagers.  maybe  subtleties  are  necessary  when  sequestering  itadori  yuji  (  a  presumed  dead  man  —  the  incident  at  the  detention  center  had  been  a  month  ago  already  )  into  a  movie  room  with  minimal  conversation.

kids  should  be  straightforward.  teenagers  should  be  straightforward.  itadori  is  pretty  straightforward,  mostly.  he’s  watching  a  video  that  used  to  be  vhs  on  dvd,  a  movie  that  gojo  last  watched  when  bits  of  his  mind  were  escaping  him.

sometimes  gojo  remembers  that  he’s  a  paper-mache  teacher,  still  piecing  it  together.

it  feels  funny  all  of  the  sudden,  in  a  sullen  &  sordid  type  of  way  —  so  he  laughs.  he  waves  his  hand  in  what  might  be  a  salute,  &  he  tries  to  track  the  reasoning  of  i’m  worried  that  i  bore  you.

isolated  movie  training,  vhs,  dvd,  &  feelings  of  inadequacy  :  he  supposes  it  has  to  do  with  the  how  itadori  so  far  knows  to  show  his  cursed  energy.  the  absence  of  a  cursed  technique?

‘  you  kidding?  kid,  you’re  worth  millions.  talking  to  you  is  basically  like  getting  struck  by  lightening,  ‘  he  starts  off  strong  &  feels  confident  that  he  &  itadori  sometimes  speak  the  same  language.

as bluntly as he speaks, megumi doesn't mean to come off as doubtful by any means. he thinks he knows better than anyone that itadori isn't wrong. itadori is strong enough for anything. still, megumi thinks that if he allows himself to take that fact for granted, the ba dump ! that keeps time in the back of his mind, that still - beating heart in the grasp of sukuna’s sharp claws, would only double in volume until he hears nothing else.

he likes to think he knows itadori well by now ; thinks he can see through the confident grin about as well as he can tell when gojo’s own is a little less annoying than usual ; when he can tell that itadori is thinking of the lives he couldn’t save, when he can tell that suguru geto’s specter has recently haunted the school grounds.

for as much as itadori tries to take everything in stride, megumi still knows how he suffers. and, for as much as he will never regret saving him, there remains a part of him still cognizant of the fact that his choice to save him has enabled itadori’s suffering.

Freyja had heard quite about the young man before her, how he had eaten quite a good chunk of Sukuna's fingers and he was still kicking.

The thought makes goosebumps rise on her skin and a pit to open in her stomach. All of her years of living and Freyja was positive that this was the most outlandish thing she had seen with her own eyes.

"To say I'm impressed would probably be putting it lightly." She chuckled in response, a lingering tinge of disbelief within the sound. "I get it was a spur of the moment thing but knowing what those fingers look like, I couldn't imagine eating one let alone as many as you have. Willingly or not so much.." Freyja sighed and her eyes narrowed slightly at Yuji.

"It must be a constant headache with him living in your head, huh?" She huffed.

Childhood should be a time of innocence, safety, and fun. A chance to discover new passions, talents, and interests. It should be a solid foundation that bestows quality and stability to ensure one may move from a fitter childhood into a fitter adulthood. This is the least Gojo could do. Seeing the smiles of his students brings him joy. Experiencing the shared felicity improves the quality of his daily life as well.

He is aware Yuji has it tough and is working on a way to go around the bone of contention which is— Sukuna. There’s a lot he wishes to discuss with Yuji but, for now, just the little things are enough. He wants to see him achieve his goals and enjoy life.

for  the  record  :  they  do  get  individual  missions.  it’s  not  like  a  study  hall,  though;  it’s  not  something  conveniently  scheduled.  for  every  class  that  they  miss,  they  have  to  make  up  both  lecture  &  material.  so  really  :  megumi  is  actually  out  on  an  isolated  mission,  &  megumi  is  the  one  losing  out.

what’s  more,  megumi  also  has  a  habit  of  leaving  his  door  unlocked.  they’ll  argue  back  &  forth  whether  this  is  an  act  of  kindness,  whether  megumi  is  just  doing  it  because  nobara  has  every  intention  of  butting  into  his  space  anyway.  but  that’s  neither  here  nor  there.  nobara  doesn’t  let  (  in  her  words  )  the  boys  into  her  room,  &  itadori’s  room  decor  is  gross  so.

megumi’s  room  is  the  default  whether  he’s  there  or  not.  it’s  his  turn  for  an  individual  mission.

still,  nobara  &  itadori  are  there.  they’re  supposed  to  be  learning  english,  &  somewhere  nobara  has  seen  someone  credible  on  twitter  say  that  television  is  a  credible  way  of  learning  language.  she  drags  megumi’s  comforter  over  her  legs  &  (  by  association  )  itadori’s  legs.  they  use  her  dated  laptop  (situated  somewhere  soundly  between  their  calves  )  &

both  of  them  are  well  equipped  to  make  the  argument  that  even  this  shitty  american  movie  about  zombies  is  crucial  to  their  education.

nobara  complains  when  itadori’s  bare  foot  touches  her  own.  she  feels  a  little  proud  because  she  doesn’t  think  that  itadori  much  knows  what  to  do  with  her  complaint,  &  never  mind  that.

here’s  the  thing:  it’s  not  a  very  good  movie.  it’s  even  less  good  when  you  don’t  understand  english  very  well,  so  she  periodically  invents  dialogue  to  go  with  the  scenes.  itadori  answers  in  kind.

eventually,  itadori  muses  :  i  would  excel  in  a  zombie  apocalypse.

&  nobara  thinks  that’s  the  dumbest  thing  she’s  heard.  barefeet  be  damned,  she  kicks  at  him  beneath  the  comforter.  the  laptop  jostles  &  stalls.  one  hand,  she  feels  that  itadori  might  be  able  to  survive  anything.  on  a  second  hand,  his  immunity  to  poisons  &  injury  probably  wouldn’t  extend  to  zombies.  on  the  third  hand,  itadori  takes  too  many  risks.

’  nah.  you’d  cry  thirty  minutes  in.  what’s  that  ego,  anyway  ? '

i like to think !  megumi's pretty good at cooking.  while tsumiki did most of the work caring for the both of them when their parents left them,  i'm sure megumi learned from her and helped out as well.  maybe also learned from gojo depending on how good he is at that.  definitely wouldn't be better than yuuji ofc,  but he'd still be v competent with it yk ?  probably wouldn't normally make food for others unless asked to or unless he really felt like it.  idk i just get the ✨vibe✨.

nanami runs hot. he is always warm to the touch. his metabolism is stupidly fast. he eats a lot, burns it all off and then is hungry again within 2 hours. its the muscle mass ok. because of this, he gets sweaty quickly (i know this is v unsexy of him. he showers twice a day at least, i promise) that's why the blazer and tie is first to go when things get serious

he sleeps like he's dead. nothing will wake him except his very loud and obnoxious alarm or vigorous shaking. he has also mastered the art falling asleep anywhere at any time; sitting up, leaning on something, on the floor. you name it, he can sleep on it. one minute you're having a conversation, the next he's balling up his blazer into a makeshift pillow, the next he's passed out. im sorry to all the faculty staff who have had to witness him laying around on furniture seemingly unresponsive ajfhkjagh

he will go into overtime after 8 continuous hours of work. it doesn't matter if the working day starts at 6am or 1pm. starting at 6am will trigger his binding pact at 2pm. starting at 1pm will trigger it at 9pm. getting ready for the day doesn't count as work, it only starts when he's officially on duty. so when he steps into jujutsu high, or when he arrives on location. lunches and breaks do not detract from his accumulated hours but if he spends the whole time messing around, he won't go into overtime at all. its about the mindset.
