In one way, it has shifted the direction of my work and made me much more informed through experience about what this looks like, so i’ve got that takeaway to appreciate about it, you know? And it boils my blood when there continue to be no consequences at all for someone like that.

I was in court the other day and watched a motion for a guy who’d been accused of sexual assault, and this smug what’s-his-ass thought he could rock up and represent itself, say he didn’t do it, and it’d be done. But I wasn’t entirely looking at him, I was looking at the woman he’d brought with him, and she didn’t make a sound - she barely met his gaze. When he gestured and made a sound summoning her to leave, she obeyed. I don’t know if that would’ve pinged on my radar a few years ago but I hone right in on it now.

Any reccomendations for safety razors? The kind with the one flat blade?

It’s tricky to make specific product recommendations without knowing where you are. I use Bambaw which you can get from the plastic free shop, but take a look at this article from veryhappyvegan, it goes into safety razors more generally and makes a few recommendations, hopefully at least one will be available where you are. Regardless of which one you choose, the razor themselves never really contain animal products unlike disposable razors, and they’re far more sustainable. You’re you’re just looking to avoid animal testing brands like Gillette really, so they aren’t difficult to find.
