things i noticed in my most recent jsab playthrough that u might not have:
- the square starts off broken at the beginning of the game ? like theyre in pieces and those pieces come together to form the player
- the corrupted flowers make piano noises when they first pop out of the water
- theres a part in sevcon where, when the circle in the middle is absorbing other circles, it kind of bounces to the beat every time a circle hits it! its hard to see if youre not paying attention (completely understandable)
- in subwoofer dubstep, the rain from the ceiling actually fills up the level with water (this might be common knowledge but i personally never noticed until now)
- the helicopter leaves a trail of rainbow particles when they fly :]
- in that one part where the square is on a conveyor belt running from buzzsaws, the piles of stuff being shredded are various trees and things from paradise, one of which is the bird cage from the lost chapter!
- the 3 birds from the lost chapter also appeared at the end of the game before the extra chapter was even released
- the pink boss guy has a machine in the factory with the sole purpose of pushing flowers over. this boss is like a middle school bully i love them
- THE BEGINNING OF TRY THIS IS TOTALLY A JAMES BOND REFERENCE AND I ONLY JUST NOW GOT IT. GOD
- i also like that the background in Try This has many elements from the factory in the overworld. ik its pretty obvious. i just think its neat
- i might make a separate post abt this but the boss is very clearly Bug Coded. and the changes to their appearance they go through throughout the game makes me think of metamorphosis. you understand
- like an evil butterfly
- in the lost chapter, theres what appears to be several fossils underground. this implications of this drives me nuts

u r all misunderstanding the canadian tennis curse it was not lifted when gaby and felix won mixed because it doesn’t apply to doubles only singles. or perhaps more accurately it doesn’t apply to gabriela specifically as she is the world #3 wta doubles player, whereas other canadians who play doubles typically end up flopping at some early stage. however, this doesn’t mean that gaby carried felix this week (unlike some teams where that sort of thing happened) because it was very much a team effort and felix is moderately good at doubles and pulled his weight

Finally read the TAZ Suffering Game graphic novel last night and I gotta say… I’m a bit disappointed by it. Warning for some salt so if you don’t want to read that, then don’t.
I knew they were gonna have to cut some stuff, but they removed like. Half of the suffering from the arc titled THE SUFFERING GAME. Side characters like Lord Artemis Sterling, Rowan, Antonia, and Cam. The brutality of the Trust or Forsake game. Taako’s beauty (and although unknown to him, his identical-ness to Lup.) Merle’s battle axe proficiency. Magnus’s memories of GOVERNOR KALEN. Suffering Game was one of the arcs I was looking forward to the most since the beginning of the graphic novel, and they flubbed it so hard. Not enough suffering.
Reunion Tour was better, and picking up the pace of events didn’t change a ton. They changed what they told the bureau about Magnus’s “death,” meaning we didn’t get to see any of the mourning that came from that, but they handled it well, changing Carey’s mourning into determination to go and find him.
But the voidfish scene. The “those are the arms that held my wife” scene. Mannequin-Magnus’s final stand alongside the voidfish. The “don’t let them forget me” scene. Johann’s death. The fact that they changed this is just… inexplicable to me.
The graphic novel definitely hit the highs and added some new stuff that was definitely nice, like the Umbra Staff jumping into Barry’s arms. But to have so much cut from these arcs, especially since the adaptation has been so faithful so far, is really disappointing. It makes me nervous for how they’re going to put The Stolen Century and Story and Song into one book and wondering what parts of it they’re going to have to cut.

What about 3 and 9 for the music ask game?
You've managed to pick the two most difficult questions on that list somehow :D I'll do my best to answer
3. A song I’d choose to introduce someone to my favorite genre
so. I'm not really a genre listener nor do I have a favourite genre. I'm gonna pick hyper pop as my fav genre here purely because I don't feel like a lot of people listen to that in my circle (understandable, it's somewhat of an acquired taste). I would introduce people to that the same way I got into it and that is via Lil' Mariko's Where's My Juul. I've actually seen this circle tumblr and even if the music is not for everyone the video and the vibe is funny as hell
9. A song in a language you don’t speak
I'm taking speak as 'don't understand most of the words in the song' which limits this but uhh. Hatari's Tortímandi. Don't speak a word of Icelandic, yet at least. I've listened to this song on loop for 5h once while doing lab results calculations in excel. It's a very good song for that.
thank you for the ask!!

okay like what actually is undertale like
all I know is there’s like. hearts. skeletons and monsters. and like a flower. and it’s snowy (?? I think)
like what even is undertale I actually have no idea what it is 😭
this is a cruel cruel thing to ask someone who was just about to sleep (lighthearted)
SO! its one of those games thats best gone into blind, but its been out for over 8 years and i played it as a preteen and now im almost 20. i think i can talk frankly
undertale is an RPG where you play as a human who has fallen into an underground world of monsters. your goal is essentially to traverse the underground and come out the other end to go home. it's pretty linear
it got a lot of popularity because the music is banging. the characters are very charming. and it has a wild commentary on the relationship between the game and its player (you).
the story is very heartwarming/heartbreaking (up to you :)) and also full of stupid jokes and quirky shit. im currently replaying it because i love it and the story doesnt really get old
also just to shine a light on the little you do recognise:
hearts: thats you! your soul as it appears in battle (bullet hell turn-based combat)
skeletons and monsters: the skeletons in this game are unambiguously the fan favourite monsters. theyre just great. most people nowadays come into the game and will at least recognise sans undertale
a flower: your best friend that you meet right at the beginning of the game. one of my favourite characters hands down
snowy: one of the several portions of the underground is snowy fields and a village. thats where the skeletons live (nodding)

7 and 13 🌾🌾🌾
Original Post
7. What is your favorite song from the soundtrack?
My favorite song from the soundtrack has to be the Outskirt's threat track, it's just a classic. And it's perfectly introduces the player to the concept of threat music. It slowly builds it's tension, something that occurs in every threat song, but in Outskirt's theme it's quite unique in it's use of different sounds.
13. Which of the pearls are your favorite?
Bright Magenta. It's such a interesting pearl! The text confirms that slugcats are descendants of a much more different organisms. It gives you an idea of how the creatures as you know them, were much more distinct as the organisms described in this pearl. I believe this is also the pearl that introduced the idea of purposed organisms? if so, It gives us just the right amount of knowledge through it's vagueness. Pretty much changing your whole view regarding the creatures that you encounter, and the creature that you're playing as. (I mean, it changed mine when I first read it!)

Does Volfoss have a secret fan translation i can't find? I'm coping here
it does not BUT i did go through and write every story section (as line by line as I could) for every single route in my guide :) link to a direct download (via dropbox) and the gamefaqs page here :) most of the info for it before this was all on japanese sites and even then there wasnt a ton outside of the VERY helpful japanese wiki (link to that here, google translate and a good knowledge of the creatures are your friend here :) it has some stuff i didnt put in the guide such as trooper listings and a VERY helpful map that has each town/rebel (what the Volfoss term for towns are. dont ask me why its confusing lol) color coded for each of the big cities that control them). if you need any other help, lmk! i included some of the helpful sites at the end of the guide as i def recommend keeping up the gallery page and the unit guide spreadsheet as u play until u get a hang of the creatures :)
