"I'll see you around, Buck" The door clicks behind him, officially closing him off from his hopes, his dreams, the man that he lo- No, not that, not after everything. It would hurt too much to say it, to even think it. His heart pounds in his ears, the beats increasing. Why is it so hard to breathe, it should be this hard to breathe. Before he knows it, his feet move quickly down the hall slightly staggering. Everything around him is a blur, the pounding of his heart becoming unbearable. He halts nearly tripping slamming his palm to the wall anchoring him in his place so he doesn't collapse to the floor below. With his free hand, he places pressure against his temples as he lets out an anguished sob. No, he can't, not here. A low throbbing migraine creeps up behind his eyes placing an uncomfortable pressure behind them adding to the sting of his reddening eyes. Why does it hurt so much? He walked away to avoid the heartache, to avoid an all too familiar pain that he wouldn't be able to survive again. Why does it hurt this fucking bad? It shouldn't hurt this much.

SUMMARY: The breakup was harder to deal with than they had expected, both Evan 'Buck' Buckley and Tommy Kinard now have to face the new chapter of their lives alone. It seems like the universe has other plans though.

“Krennic was getting annoyed with you, but it was hardly your fault. He had promised he would leave the office four hours ago and it was now three hours past your dinner reservation, yet he showed no sign that he was finished handling the day’s business. You could always give up on the evening, retire to your quarters, and hang up the exquisite gown you purchased for the occasion. But his all-consuming work with Stardust had kept Krennic away from the capital for months. There was no way you would voluntarily remove him from your sight.

And so you stayed, making yourself at home in the luxurious sitting area of Krennic’s office, getting ahead on your own work for the next week, replying to comms, and sifting through through the Imperial files Krennic had sent you that he thought would be of interest to you in your role as Senator of Kuat.

But you had finished that an hour ago. You had sighed and paced and poured yourself a drink and watched the sun sink below the Coruscant skyline as the city planet came alive with the night. You threw yourself down petulantly on the chaise lounge with yet another exasperated sigh…You could take it no longer.”
