Lots of things happened at the Humour and Hijinks Festival! Everyone had a good laugh telling jokes, Vincent met Veronica for the first time and they had so much to talk about with cooking! And the jokesters won...meaning they can pay the rent this week without any trouble 🤣

Before the festival...

Bodyguard: Miss Veronica, please reconsider going to this festival. It's too risky with all these people. Veronica: It's fine, I'll have it under control. Bodyguard: As you wish [sighs] I'll step in if anything happens.

The new roommate was Chansung, another one of Noah's bros, who's also studying history like Renee! The trio went out to get some fresh air after unpacking and Renee received a call. "Hello?" she answered not knowing who it was, but she was quickly distracted by a dog who came to greet her. The owner came after with her phone in her hand, the name Renee as the caller ID. At that moment Renee knew who it was, it was V (by @tulipsimss), "V is that you?" she said.

Vincent has not been replying to Renee's texts, usually, he responds quickly. Waiting a few minutes turned into hours, then hours turned into a day, 2 days, 3...and still nothing. Renee has been dwelling on all sorts of emotions. Is he avoiding her because of what she told him about her parents' trust? She was looking forward to going to the romance festival with him. Veronica came to check on her and Renee vented her frustrations. She comforted her saying he would reply soon and maybe the festival later on would cheer her up. Going with your friends is just as much fun as with your boyfriend, right?

Renee likes to chat with Veronica about anything. The topic this time was love and she talked about Vincent! Over the time they've been living together, she has noticed Veronica doesn't show a lot of emotion or doesn't really smile a lot. But Veronica's a good listener and told Renee to carry on whenever she stopped talking, so yeah she's a bit difficult to read! Renee even asked Betty the dog about her.

Renee's friends cheered her up at the romance festival and then the romance guru ruined her mood. What he said is already happening to her right now...

Bodyguard: You really do need to control yourself Miss Veronica. The situation is already bad back in Strangerville, so we've taken care of some of the stuff- Veronica: All I want to do is cheer her up. What's wrong with that? Bodyguard: You know there are consequences. You can't feel anything. You must not feel anything, ok?

They all respect Veronica's privacy about Strangerville: it's a sensitive topic for her to talk about and revealing the bodyguard eased some pressure off everyone.

Transcript:

Veronica: Umm…I know you've all noticed. There is a woman following me around everywhere. A woman that is wearing all black. You don't have to be suspicious, I know her [avoids eye contact with everyone] [Noah and Renee look at each other. They were talking about that woman earlier in the day]

Veronica: [stands up and walks to the sink] She's my bodyguard.

[Renee is trying to connect all the conversations she's had with Veronica together and it makes sense now, why she's so secretive. Perhaps, her family is famous back in Strangerville] Renee: Huh? Why do you need a bodyguard? Unless…are you famous?

Veronica: [nervous laugh like she doesn't want to admit the truth] Yes, umm you could say that. My [coughs] family are quite important back home in Strangerville [becomes more confident talking about her situation]. The only condition they allow me to attend culinary school, is by having a bodyguard…for safety.

Renee: Veronica…I know that was hard to say [hugs her] you can tell me anything. Promise me that! Chansung: No promise us! We're here for you, you don't need to hide anything from us.

When will she tell them?

Transcript:

?: [listens to her earpiece] How is the situation? Hmm…I see [concentrating on the surroundings] I am keeping an eye, I can't speak to her right now, she's not alone [nods her head] Yes, I will sort it out.

Renee: Noah, do you see that woman behind us? The one wearing all black? She seems kinda sketchy. Noah: [turns his head slightly] She does. I feel like she's been following us, but I can't tell for sure.

Renee: It's giving me an uncomfortable feeling as she keeps looking at Veronica. Noah: We should ask her if she knows that strange woman. Just to make sure. Renee: Sounds like a good plan…I don't know how we'll do that though. We need to be-

[Veronica could hear all of Noah and Renee's conversation and small beads of sweat begins to form on her forehead. She's in trouble now. Should she tell them the truth about that woman or turn a blind eye? The truth seems most likely in this case: they're bound to find out anyway. But when is the right time?]

No doubt it was V. Veronica's responses were short and simple and Renee couldn't believe her pen pal was standing right there before her! After the introductions to Noah and Chansung were made, the roomies started to bring all of the stuff upstairs. But Veronica stopped for a brief moment. She looked back to make eye contact with someone behind.
