Despite Komei's best intentions, the twins didn't seem to get 100% along even as toddlers. Venus was clingy and a little more dominant over her sister, always being the one to initiate interactions.

They shared the toys just fine, so that their dad didn't have to watch them constantly. Even if Venus had a habit of eating their dolls.

Whatever happened between them, Komei was absolutely furious with Tycho and constantly kept wishing harm upon this teenager. Totally normal things to think about for your wife's nephew.

Blake spent the rest of the birthday party stuffing himself with the food and arguing with the kids over the last slice of pizza.

When the party started to slowly dissolve and the younger guests left, Ophelia agreed to stay a little longer and had a more heartfelt talk with her aunt. She reassured Olive her life in Veronaville is wonderful and the Capps show her nothing but respect.

Knut, like most of the teenagers in town, had a wish to get a guitar. Erin bought him one as a birthday gift and while he wasn't exactly while he didn't seem to have a natural talent for it, he was eager to practice more and be one of the "cool kids".

Knut was definitely inspired by his brother, though he didn't want to straight-up copy him. All of Blake's jealousy disappeared in an instant and he was ready to become his little brother's questionable role model.

Erin took over the piano duty and even managed to get the guests to start dancing around her. She was very focused on the job.

Olive boldly attempted to hug her niece, thinking they were finally closer as a family than back when they used to live together. Ophelia definitely respected her aunt more than before, but hugging her felt like too much.

When Lola was at work, Komei was the one to handle twins' birthday. Throwing a party at the beginning of a work week was out of the question, especially since he wouldn't even know who to invite.

Diana and Venus grew up well and turned out to have a pretty unproblematic personality. Komei thought it would be a safe to dress the girls like true twins, so that they get used to equal treatment despite their differences.

The twins were showing Jamie and Jessie around the house while the adults were talking and Venus invited her "cousin" to her room. He tried playing on her violin, but it sounded more like scratching with nails on a chalkboard.

In the meantime, Jessie had an angelic patience for Diana's questions about literally anything. Lola was relieved to see her daughters get along with the rest of the family and hoped Jenny's kids would have a good influence on them.

On Sunday, Lola thought it would be a good idea to let her daughters meet some of the family. Since she felt closest to Jenny and her kids and they haven't seen each other since PT9's death, she invited them for lunch.

Diana and Venus were fascinated to find out there's another set of twins in their close family, especially alien twins. Lola tried to steer the conversation away from awkward questions about PT9 and his relation to everyone at the table.

Komei was just happy that Lola wasn't very close with her brother and his family. He wouldn't want to share the same space with "that annoying kid" Tycho. Whatever happened between them.

Even if the atmosphere at home was relatively peaceful and "normal", Komei still couldn't help feeling paranoid about their daughters growing distant over their differences.

He tried bringing it to Lola and subtly call her out for her preference for Venus. He tried not to scratch the freshly healed wound of her conflict with Chloe, but he expressed his worry about this reflecting on the girls.

Lola was surprisingly calm and reassured him there's no favouritism at play. He didn't exactly believe her with how much she's been gushing over Venus specifically, but hoped things will calm down once Lola finally becomes the mayor and her rat race slows down.

On the weekend, the whole family could finally sit down together for breakfast and have a chat about recent events in their life.

Venus wanted to impress her mom and tried to practice the piano for a while. She had a natural talent for any instrument she touched.

She was still a child, though. After getting bored with pressing piano keys for an hour, she rushed downstairs to hang out and play with her sister instead.

Lola had to pick up her parenting responsibilities and joined Komei in helping twins with their homework. Of course she picked Venus as the one for tutoring.

Diana felt closer to her dad anyway. Even if Komei kept reassuring her Lola and Venus are the same as them and her mom is not playing favourites, he wasn't even sure if he believed that himself.

Meanwhile, Lola was proud to see her daughter expressing her musical talent and thought Venus could pick something bigger than a violin. She ended up buying a piano.

First day of school went well for the twins. Both finally got to meet some other kids their age and make friends.

Komei was still a little paranoid every time he heard them talking in louder and excited voices.

Komei: I hope there's no fighting going on over here.

Venus: We were literally just talking?

Diana: Don't pay attention to him.

Following her unhinged father's footsteps, Alice showed up all the way in Strangetown just to steal a newspaper. She ran away screaming when a stray wolf sniffed her very politely.

Curious girls were at the age, where they would ask way too many questions and Diana really wanted to know why her sister is green. Reminding her that their mother is also green was not a satisfying answer and she kept insisting Lola must've had some magical potion that turned them into aliens.

It certainly didn't help, that Lola had just a little more love and affection for Venus. She would deny it if asked, but the two of them being alien hybrids definitely played a role in that.

Komei expected a fight after mentioning he found a new job, but Lola was surprisingly calm about it. He carried the pregnancy for them and made sure the girls were taken care of until the school age, so she believed he deserves a "break".

Diana immediately followed her mother's footsteps and wanted to make big bucks selling lemonade. It didn't matter the autumn weather wasn't very lemonade-friendly.

Her sister, on the other hand, was all about music and creative expression. Komei bought her a violin to practice on and she was occupied with it for hours.

Now that the girls were old enough, Komei could finally sit down and find a new job. He thought about science at first, but Lola's family had enough people in this field. He thought him working in journalism could benefit his wife in her political career.

It was finally time for the twins to have their birthday. Once again Komei decided to keep it casual and private for now, since it was still the middle of the week and the girls wouldn't remember a big party anyway.

Unfortunately, when the girls were old enough to talk, they were also old enough to fight. He was paranoid they would turn out like Lola and Chloe.

Komei wasn't bored while stuck in the house. Besides taking care of the girls, he also did his best to maintain the place to the best of his abilities. Even if he wasn't doing it as efficiently as a professional housekeeper would.

Venus was also a handful with how impatient she was. While her sister could spend hours occupied with a toy, Venus needed constant attention and distraction.

Even teaching her toddler skills was a challenge, but Komei wasn't a quitter and he was determined to show Lola he can handle this while she's at the office.

Lola wasn't as close with the twins as Komei, since he was the one to deliver them and take care of them for most of the day. She still tried to teach them to talk at least, but it was going very slowly.

She kept relying on her malewife Komei to raise the girls and make sure they grow up well. To make herself feel better about not spending enough time with her daughters, she was telling herself they're toddlers and wouldn't even remember her being around much.
