CellAgri Portugal to Hold First International Conference with Notable Industry Speakers in Braga CellAgri Portugal, the Portuguese association for the development of cellular agriculture, is hosting its inaugural international conference on the 7th and 8th of September, 2023, in Braga, Portugal. Американская фирма BioCraft Pet Nutrition, ранее известная под названием Because, Animals, представила культивированное мясо курицы. По словам представителей компании, продукт пригоден для того, чтобы производить корма для собак и кошек на его основе. По данным BioCraft Pet Nutrition, курицу в качестве источника белка предпочитает большинство потребителей рационов для домашних животных, хотя этот вид мяса является одним из аллергенов у питомцев. В BioCraft Pet Nutrition утверждают, что запатентованный компанией продукт обеспечит домашним животным все необходимые питательные вещества. Он содержит белки, витамины, жиры и аминокислоты, включая таурин. Кроме того, при его производстве не используются химические и бактериальные загрязнители, антибиотики, стероиды или гормоны, которые обычно содержатся в традиционном мясе. Генеральный директор Шеннон Фальконер отмечает, что производить корма для кошек в BioCraft Pet Nutrition продолжают на основе культивированного мышиного мяса – это основное направление компании. Однако разработанная специалистами курятина должна подойти и кошкам, и собакам, а также владельцам, которые предпочитают более традиционные мясные ингредиенты. Чтобы вырастить «искусственную курятину», главный ветеринарный врач компании Рупал Тевари вывел из куриных стволовых клеток, не прибегая к модификациям, специальную клеточную линию. Эти клетки выращиваются в особой питательной среде. Компания BioCraft Pet Nutrition, имеющая штаб-квартиры в Северной Америке и Европе, была основана в 2016 году для создания экологически чистых и этически безупречных кормов для домашних животных. Veggie Grill and Sodexo Partner to Grow Presence on US College Campuses - vegconomist - the vegan business magazine

Veggie Grill,the leading plant-based restaurant group in the United States, announces its partnership with Sodexo Inc., a global provider of food and facilities management. As consumers, specifically college students, continue to seek more veggie-centric food. Sodexo will offer Veggie Grill’s plant-based menu at university campuses to meet this demand.
Since its inception in 2006, Veggie Grill has opened 32 locations in California, Oregon, Washington and Illinois. The brand will launch in East Coast markets, including New York City this year and continue its extensive expansion through partnerships like Sodexo. “We have strategically opened several of our restaurant locations nearby or on college campuses, including UCLA, UC Berkeley and University of Washington,” says Veggie Grill CEO Steve Heeley. “College students are at the forefront of the plant-based movement and they are more mindful about what they eat. We look forward to partnering with Sodexo to serve our plant-based food to a wider audience of university students and faculty.”
Recent research has shown that Gen Z college students are embracing plant-based foods and healthier diets. According to Technomic’s 2017 College & University Consumer Trend Report, “Twenty percent of college students follow some form of special diet, ranging from semi-vegetarian to vegan.”
Sodexo expects to start rolling out Veggie Grill at select college and university locations during the 2019-2020 school year. “Our college customers have asked for more plant-based options. Veggie Grill is the perfect partner to give them what they want. We continually look for ways to provide innovative dining experiences for our college customers,” said Don Wood, External Partnerships, Sodexo.
