so @evakant and i are doing an origins playthrough ratatouille-style where she's remy and i'm linguini (all the decisions are hers, i'm just there to do all the combat and movement). our new child is an f!mahariel and we've JUST arrived at ostagar. i hope none of you will spoil the game for her!!!!!!!! but i wanted to share some of my fav commentary from her today, because it's so CUTE <3

[on saying 'i wanted to be with you, of course'] well i don't want him to give him an ego, let's be mean to him

[on tamlen touching the mirror] TAMLEN youre gonna get in TROUBLE

[on talking to marethari] i guess we have to get tamlen back. he's like our little dog

[on talking to master ilen] i love how we've looted everything from our own camp to sell it back to him

[on bringing fenarel with us when merrill tells us off for not asking marethari first] i dont wanna lie to her.... [3 seconds later] do we actually HAVE to ask the keeper [3 seconds after getting permission] HAH take THAT merrill

[on seeing duncan] he's so beautiful i can't look at the screen 😳

[on getting conscripted] like i wanna live so thanks but they're FORCING me to join the wardens and i dont like that!!!!

THE TENSION IN THIS SCENE IS JUST IMMACULATE there’s like SUCH a different vibe between this version and the donghua. In the donghua lwj is very worried he almost has this soft edge to when he pleads for wwx to come back with him however wwx misunderstands him as wanting to punish him for his new found cultivation

As for this version, lwj is still worried yes but he’s much more forceful and almost aggressive in his concern which causes wwx to become defensive in a way that he NEVER gets with lwj which is just so fucking upsetting to watch good lord

im gonna be honest. my canon was an exiled alistair but king alistair content is really getting to me. the tragedy. the longing. the betrayal. the inevitability of it all. they were so in love and they were doomed from the start. there was no way this could've gone any other way because of who they are except it could have been different, if they were different. refusing to forgive the other person but never thinking they themselves should be sorry. they were in love and now they're not and they have to live with that.

AND I STARTED AWAKENING SO IM IN TEARS AGAIN BECAUSE ALISTAIR IS ACTUALLY NOT HOSTILE??? and kal said looks like you might have to come back to the wardens after all it was immediate, a joke, unthinking (forgetting, for a second, all the reasons alistair left, because of her, because of her decisions) and that one second of 'oh fuck' but then alistair is basically like. being a grey warden, fighting darkspawn by your side again? i'm tempted

im going to THROW UP. this is actually WORSE than if i got him exiled because they have to live with this now. i am in MOURNING

thinkin abt kal's origin pt where she talks to those kids playing in the alienage and they ask her if she knows abt any elven heroes and the only option she has is to make one up because she doesn't know any. thinkin abt how she can ask duncan if he knows any elven grey wardens, how she doesnt know about garahel (bc where would she have learned this? who would she have learned it from?) - but also how i skipped asking duncan questions after that initial conversation with valendrian so actually she doesnt even know about garahel bc she never even got to ask duncan. thinkin about how she asks alistair if he knows any elven grey wardens and he answers her question but she doesnt get the answer she really wants. how she grew up in denerim, told her entire life that she's nothing, her people were something once and it doesn't matter because they're nothing now. how she grew up in denerim, under the shadow and memory of maric the saviour and the hero of river dane -- a no one, a nothing, just like her, but nothing like her, but just like her -- and his night elves, and how he freed ferelden from the tyranny of orlais against impossible odds. her desperation for some kind of connection to the world she lives in, but she's fucking invisible, until the only hero she's ever known tells her at ostagar not to let anyone make her feel like she doesn't belong

btw i brought this stupid man along to soldier's peak bc i wanted to hear his thoughts on sophia dryden and he didn't say ANYTHING right up to the end where he told kal "you've done well" for securing the keep as a base for the wardens w the most unnecessary and frankly inappropriate amount of warmth and pride so obviously kal died on the spot

yknow i only got into dragon age like... in 2019??? and the FIRST character i made was literally isra eofdkgjdfg i had her entire thing planned out before i even started origins bc everyone who ever recc'd dragon age to me only rec'd dai, so i started playing the entire trilogy TO HAVE CONTEXT FOR dai but i literally knew NOTHING abt isra except what she looked like and her class (i picked mage off the bat because i was like whats the point of a fantasy game if im not playing the single class that can do magic (boy was i wrong but that's another topic) and then i booted up evadne's pt in origins and she's IN MAGIC PRISON like eogjfkdgjkdsfjkfdgj)) and now she's everything to me
