“Home-Sweet-Home” Interior Design Ideas

Hello, my wonderful friends! How are you doing today? I hope everything is great with you and your loved ones.

Designed by the talented interior designer Rachelle Charles of Simplicity Interior Design, this new-build model home is located in an active adult community called Bailey’s Glen in Cornelius, NC.

This is the type of home that most of us would be happy to live in. It’s not overwhelmingly big but its carefully curated interiors surely elevate each and every space. Overall, I feel this is the type of home that has that classic “home-sweet-home” feel that we all love.

“I wanted to keep the dining room simple, yet elegant. The molding in this room really sets it aside from all of the other rooms, and the white walls really makes the color in here pop! This room has a lot of fun texture!” – Rachelle Charles.

“This living room is open to the dining room, kitchen, and sunroom. It has vaulted ceilings, built-ins, and is really the heart of the home. The area rug was the first piece I bought for this room and I fell in love with it because of all the fun colors, which of course, tied in my navy!”

Kitchen

“For this kitchen we changed up the layout a little bit from our original floor plan. We expanded the cabinets and counter space all the way across the room to really open up the kitchen and allow for an oversized island. Our last model in this community was very traditional, so we wanted a more updated and modern look for this one. I decided a navy island would be fun in an otherwise all white kitchen, and brushed brass would be the icing on the cake!”

“When we expanded the kitchen layout, we lost our breakfast nook, so I decided to add a breakfast table in the sunroom. The sunroom is open to the kitchen, as well as the living room. I also wanted to be sure to tie in a touch to navy to each room so the house flowed nicely. I love the look of bamboo mixed with navy and I knew it was a must have for the sunroom!”

“I wanted to add a pop of a fun color in the master bedroom, but still keep it elegant. Kelly green was the perfect choice! I was very indecisive on whether or not the wall paper would be too much for a model home, but I had a vision that I couldn’t let go of, so I went with it and I love the way it turned out! I kept the rest of the bedroom pretty neutral so you didn’t get an overwhelming feeling walking into this room.”

Texas Home Design

After of a week featuring mostly coastal interior design homes, it’s wonderful to keep things fresh and inspiring here on Home Bunch. And no one else could do that better than my friend Brittany Jones of @britjonesdesign (make sure to follow her on Instagram). Brittany is a very talented interior designer and photographer and you might recall seeing her beautiful Texas house featured on the blog before.

This beautiful French-inspired home is located in the heart of West Texas. It was drawn by Architect Blake Hayes, built by Edge Homes, and was thoughtfully designed and curated by Brit Jones Design.

This is an extensive post, so find a comfy and quiet spot to allow yourself to get inspired by the many great interior designs this beautiful Texas home features.

This home features 5 bedrooms, kid game room, adult lounge with pool access, gun room, master bedroom with private office and sitting room, 4.5 bathrooms, large mudroom, wrapping station, two laundry rooms, private patio off the master sitting room, pool, grilling area with a built in pizza oven, two balconies, all on an oversized one acre lot.

Stone & Shutters

The exterior stone is castlerock stone in a mix of cream and white with white mortar.

Brick

Instead of regular stucco we did a “brick slurry” where they did the stucco over the brick in a hand-finish instead of a sprayed finish. Color is a custom tan finish.

This French-inspired foyer features a cabinet with greywash finish, a French mirror and beautiful decor.

What is shiplap and how did it get so popular?

The name shiplap originally referred to wood planks with notches (called rabbets) cut on each side of the board. These notches allowed builders of ships, barns and homes to provide some protection from seawater and rain. Recently renovated by Hyland Homes and located in Western Springs, Illinois, this home features a modern farmhouse exterior and reinvented traditional interiors. Here, the designer shares more details:

“Our clients in Western Springs were looking to expand their new home by doing a whole home remodel. This cute, little ranch was transformed into a beautiful bungalow. Formal living room welcomes you from the front door, which leads into the expansive, open kitchen with seating, and the formal dining and family room off to the back. Four bedrooms top off the second floor with vaulted ceilings in the master.”

Interior Design Ideas: New Home Inspiration

Hello, my wonderful friends! How are you today? I am truly happy to start slowing down this week and start my kids’ back-to-school shopping. Doing it for three kids isn’t an easy task, but I will try to have some fun. Now, let’s focus on this new “Interior Design Ideas”.

Built by Timber Trails Development Company and with interiors by the talented Julie Howard (previously featured here – a must-see post!), here, here, here, here, here & here), this beautiful home is an east coast inspired home located in Western Springs, a suburb about 20 miles outside of Chicago. The home’s exterior commands attention with it’s stately tower topped with X details on the windows. Inside the tower is a three story floating staircase that has a marvelous view of the chandelier above. When you enter the front door, a long hallway lined with mercury glass lanterns leads you to the open concept kitchen and family room where a built-in banquette steals the show because of its leaded glass windows.

Texas Home Design

This beautiful French-inspired home is located in the heart of West Texas. It was drawn by Architect Blake Hayes, built by Edge Homes, and was thoughtfully designed and curated by Brit Jones Design.

The exterior stone is castlerock stone in a mix of cream and white with white mortar.

Instead of regular stucco we did a “brick slurry” where they did the stucco over the brick in a hand-finish instead of a sprayed finish. Color is a custom tan finish.

Custom Craftsman-style Family Home

Hello, my friends! How are you today? I really hope everything is great with you!

This classic style craftsman built by Willow Homes sits in the heart of Historic Avondale, a trendy suburb of Birmingham, Alabama. This home is the perfect mix of new construction meets vintage design. Willow Homes’ intention was to help blend this new home into its surrounding historical neighborhood and they found the right balance to create a home that is not beautiful but also welcoming and perfect for family life.

Hello, my friends! How are you today? I really hope everything is great with you!

This home exudes charm with strong yet simple lines. The exterior paint colors are; Benjamin Moore 861 Shale for the upper body and Benjamin Moore 1547 Dragon’s Breath for the lower body.
