Sasquatch and Yeti, Part 11 
Tim exclaimed, “What is THAT?!?” A grasshopper?” To the right of the stage was a woman in a green costume, with long notched gloves. “I think she’s a praying mantis.” answered Jim. The woman used her wrist to carefully remove a stray lock of hair from her eyes. Tim’s eyes grew wide and he blushed. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Sasquatch, his new fiance, staring daggers at him. This was the first time he had seen the green eyed monster, or two of them. So soon into the relationship and Tim already had a wandering eye. “What?” he said, and Sasquatch rolled her eyes and sighed heavily. Jim was preoccupied with Yeti, holding her giant white hand, her furry head on his shoulder. Specs Appeal finished their set, and the emcee stepped onto the stage. “That was Specs Appeal, thanks ladies, weren’t they great?” He paused for applause. “Next up, the act we have all been waiting for…let’s give a warm welcome to…MantisMrs!” The young woman in the praying mantis costume ascended the stage. She bowed with her gloves together and smiled. Tim, oblivious to Sasquatch’s glare, whistled and cried, “Wooooooooo!!!”

Sasquatch and Yeti, Part 10

The two happy couples exited Fong’s Pizza and strolled south on 4th Street in Downtown Des Moines.  From down the block they heard a thump-thump-thumping.  They walked, curious, across the avenue to peer in the window of the source of the thump-thump-thumping.  The venue was Vaudeville Mews, and inside stood a small crowd of 20s and 30s hipsters wearing Raygun t-shirts and skinny pants.  A few cosplayers had infiltrated the group as well.  Tim motioned to his cohorts, “Eh?”

“Mmmmmmphh,” said Sasquatch.

“Rrrrrrrrrrrrgh,” agreed Yeti.

Jim answered, “Why not?”  

The four entered the heavy door of Vaudeville Mews and the thump-thump-thumping became a whoosh-whoosh-whooshing as Tim opened the inner door to the main floor and paid the door person forty dollars.  Tim, Sasquatch, Jim, and Yeti each received a neon green wristband to indicate they had paid admission.  As they stepped into the venue, they saw a five-piece all-girl band, and printed on the kick drum was the name, “Specs Appeal”.
