I am a big fucking salaar and varadeva fan ok i mean I am involved in many fandom but I am not as obsessed with any other fandom as I am with varadeva and all the credit goes to Prabhas and prithviraj the emotion that they shown towards each other that made me fall for them actually I was a fan of Prabhas before bahubali even but I was never get blushed by any actor from any industry but prithviraj changed I am kinda obsessed with this man i watched his 6 movies till now with some interviews and man that man makes me fall for him I mean how humble, polite, kind and simple he is and while watching his films i realised one thing that i really want varadeva hand to hand fight because both prabhas and prithviraj is amazing in hand to hand fight scene please give us one fight scene between them ( not bad one ok little fight that end with them kissing each other) and I want varadha to be damn strong person if I write more I won't stop because I could probably write a novel about prithviraj this man is amazing in fight scenes

Salaar is my favourite queer movie of the year which is not a queer movie (it is seeped in heavy stereotypes about almost everything and has many triggering scenes so don't go watch it without being aware of all that it contains)
Man it has such great narratives.
The main leads they are childhood best friends, the prince, Vardha and his enforcer Deva
A sweet montage of them chasing each other around when they were kids is shown
They give their everything for the other, then have to seperate for years
The present story hints at them being estranged, but the events from the past show them being each other's supports
There's a whole sequence of the prince touching his enforcer, a hand on his, an arm around his midsection and the cutesy scene where Vardha falls asleep with his head on Deva's lap and Deva puts a hand over his sleeping prince's heart (swoon!)
Deva is the ultimate protective boyfriend, with the classic 'no one is allowed to touch him' dialogue
And the way Vardha absolutely trusts him so much, like there's an action scene where everyone is scared of what Deva is doing and Vardha is over there standing with a smile on his face and his eyes closed, like he really said, go on bae do your thing
They also do some evil plotting to shake up the political structure of the country together when locked in cells side by side
And they fight side by side while bantering!
Also, it's not just them who are so queer for each other.
Vardha's older sister has a weird possibly toxic codependency with her handmaiden and his macho violent trigger angry older brother keeps letting a guy repeatedly cling onto his muscular bare arms
Hmm, maybe the royal family of Mannar has something in its blood
I told my parents I loved the movie and they asked me why and I was immediately forced to think of a reason other than 'it was so gay' XD

Salaar - Movie Review
Prashant Neel after the successful blockbuster KGF series joined hands with Prabhas for the much anticipated Salaar. Prabhas hasn’t tasted success after Bahubali franchise, major part due to teaming up with inexperienced and non-mass movie directors. This is his 1st proper combination after Rajamouli.
Story :- Vardha (Prithviraj), son of Raja Mannar (Jagapathi Babu) and Deva (Prabhas) are good friends who live in Khansar. Deva is very protective about Vardha and is ready to do anything for his safety. Once Deva and his mother were attacked and Vardha saves them and helps them leave Khansaar. Owing to the same, Deva assures whenever Vardha needs him, he will be there. After few years, Vardha needs the help of Deva and he calls him back to Khansar. Did Deva protect Vardha? What did he do in Khansar? Why did Deva lives in exile after that instance? Forms rest of the story.
Performances :- Prabhas steals the show in action blocks. He’s macho, fierce and calm at the same time. First half he’s controlled by his mother and second half by his friend. But in both cases, once he’s unleashed, there’s no stopping. Prithviraj as his best friend looks apt. We can feel his helplessness, pain and aspiration. He gets to show his action prowess in the last fight and he shines well. Eswari Rao as Prabhas mother has a lengthy role. Though the character pain is understandable, it feels monotonous and lag at few instances. Shruthi Haasan is okay in 1st half. Her role in 2nd half is just like Malavikain KGF, just to narrate/listen to the story. Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, Shriya Reddy, Jhansi, etc have limited scope and they are fine.
Technicians :- Ravi Basrur didn’t live up to the expectations of KGF both in terms of music and background score. Scenes would have been elevated to next level, had the BG was in the range of Dheera Dheera. Movie’s strength is its action episodes. Anbariv did a terrific job with the fights and gave some of the best heroic moments. Prashant Neel used similar screenplay as done for KGF. Arriving at one scene from multiple dimensions and characters. In Salaar, he narrates the story completely backwards, revealing the after effects upfront and showing the reasons that caused it in later part. We may find many similarities between KGF and Salaar, mother sentiment, multiple villains (similar get ups), a tribe of oppressed, etc. Though the action part and elevation scenes work well, the drama is a bit let down with not so emotionally connecting scenes and repetitive actions. Few noteworthy moments are engine ignition sounds when Prabhas controls his anger in 1st half, Prithviraj looking at Prabhas shadow and seeing whether he is in control or about to freak out in action episode of 2nd half. Prashant has created a big canvas with a long history, a place in the map, multiple tribes and their generations, internal rift, power games, etc and amidst all this a warrior on lose who can go to any extent for his friend. He has lot of scope for the 2nd part to play with and the climax sets up the platform perfectly for 2nd part.
Positives :-
Action episodes
Story and set up
Prabhas
Negatives :-
Slow drama
Underwhelming background score and songs
Summary :- Worth watching for the action episodes and elevation scenes. Not on par with KGF 1, but far better than all Prabhas movies after Bahubali.
Rating :- 3/5 (Keep expectations in check, you will like it)

So I have watched Salaar only once (can't watch it again for some time), but I am so so obsessed
But I have some questions
At the end of movie, Deva is revealed to be Dhaara Raisaar's son, who would have become the 'karta' of Khansaar. And I don't understand how he couldn't have known that
He is clearly well versed in Shouryaangas' customs (that sword ritual he performs at the end of movie, same as others), and his and his mother's association with Dhaara was known, given the fact they came for her after Dhaara was assainated
Considering the royalty Mannar siblings grew up in and the fact that the Shouryaangas know about him, they look at him as their leader (Bhaarava and his men recognis him, were Looking for him), the possibility that both Deva and Vardha are/were unaware of his parents and supposed destiny is not sitting right with me.
Even if the possibility that Deva's parents were estranged, how could he or anyone else around him, not have known
#i can't afford any nore brain rot that I already have#but also I am spiralling#salaar#devaratha raisaar#Shouryaangas#it is possible that his existence was kept a secret by his tribe#but that too has some hole in it
