Heidi x secretary reader

You were reading so intently that you didn’t even notice the guards come in. It was probably for the best– the part of the employee manual that explained the whole vampire thing was the very last chapter. You were still reading about sorting the mail.

This was your first real ‘adult’ job, and you were desperate to do a good job. Generous pay and an included suite had forced your hand to apply for this job, even though you had little job experience besides working at your family’s bakery. But ever since telling them that you were bi, your family had kicked you out and cut you off. You couldn’t believe it when the Volterra Historical Preservation Organization (VHPO) offered you a job when you had no address and no references and no previous pertinent job experience.

You wanted to live up to their trust in you: you wore your most professional close, showed up early, and were reading the employee manual like your life depended on it (it did, but you didn’t know that yet).

“Is that the new secretary?”

This question made you look up in the direction of the voice. Heidi was standing in the reception hall with Demetri, and her eyes were fixed on you. Her red eyes, which made you flinch and your heartbeat pick up.

You quickly stood up and set the manual down, telling yourself crossly that nothing was wrong, and that perhaps she was wearing contacts.

“I’m Y/N.” You said, smoothing your shirt down and extending a hand. Heidi glided forwards and took your hand, gently pressing it to her lips before you could try to shake it. You felt blood rush to your face as she leaned over the desk.

“I’m Heidi. So nice to meet you.”

“I- I… it’s nice to meet you too,” you stuttered.

Heidi glanced down. You were only on chapter 4. Pity, she wanted to take you to her room right now and do unspeakable things to you and your innocent, warm little body…

“Heidi, we should get going,” Demetri said, trying not to laugh. It was comical to watch the most beautiful woman in the world fall head over heels for the new secretary.

Heidi turned and glared at him. If looks could kill. Unfortunately, Demetri was right– the masters were waiting.

“I will see you soon, Y/N,” she promised, rubbing her thumb over the back of your hand before walking away.

You stood behind your desk in shock for a few minutes before sitting down.

Meanwhile, Demetri was back to teasing Heidi.

“You’ll have to find a good replacement snack for Santiago, it was his turn to eat the secretary.”

“He can have my 4th best catch for a decade,” Heidi grumbled (the top 3 were always reserved for the masters).

“That should suit him,” Demetri said with a laugh. It was fun to see Heidi in love.

What does the Volturi think of modern day music of the past 20 years?

My dear, twenty years is but a blink of an eye if you think about how long we’ve been alive. All of us have seen the evolution of music and it would be quite absurd to say that modern music has no value. We are the “nighttime patrons of the arts” after all.

We all prefer our own eras of music, but almost all of us have found things we like within the past twenty years. One thing we all appreciate is the vast melange of genres that can be found in the modern era. It seems as if there is something for everyone these days. Many of us think there is something to be found in every genre, even the ones we don’t naturally like. Music, like all art, is wonderful if you take the time to find what appeals to you.

Maybe if you, or someone else, ask nicely some of us will share our Spotify rewind stats.

“Y/N put that over there!”

You huffed and rolled your eyes at Alice. “Make up your mind. You’ve told me to move this three times.”

“I can’t decide where I like it.” She argued, looking pointedly at the Christmas decoration in your hand. “Just put it right there until I decide where I want it.”

You sat down the decoration with another eye roll before you moved on to something else. Decorating for Christmas was always a hassle when you had Alice barking orders at you. 

Edward pushed past you as Alice yelled at him to move, and you shot him a glare. He only held his hands up, shooting you a wide-eyed glance, before he raced out of the room, eager to get away from the short vampire.

“Alice, don’t you think you’re going a little overboard? It’s one day.” Rose told her as she placed another strand of lights.

“It’s a whole month.” Alice said. “So no, I’m not going overboard.”

You and Rose shared a look but didn’t press any further. You helped the blonde strand the lights across the house, desperate to finish so you could get away from Alice’s decorating. 

However, a knock from the front door had the three of you stopping instantly. The Cullen house never had any visitors, so the sound had you and Rose confused. Alice, on the other hand, seemed to be holding back a smile.

“Go answer the door.” She told you.

“Why me?” You asked, raising your brows as Alice grinned widely. 

“Because I told you to.”

You rolled your eyes for the millionth time, walking to the door and hesitantly opened it. Standing before you was someone you hadn’t seen in years, and you instantly wrapped your arms around his neck.

“Demetri!” You exclaimed loudly. “What’re you doing here?”

He laughed in your ear. “I’m here for Christmas. I believe the Kings are tired of listening to me talk about you, so they sent me.”

You smiled, knowing how hard it was for Demetri to get away from Volterra. The two of you had found out you were mates years ago, but you were reluctant to join the Volturi and leave your family, and Demetri couldn’t leave the guard. It was hard for the two of you to see each other, but you had always found ways to make it work.

“I’m so glad you’re here.” You leaned back to properly look at him. “It’s been so long.”

He hummed in agreement before kissing your lips lightly. “It has.”

“Plus,” you threw a sneaky look back to your sister. “You just got me out of helping Alice.”

Heidi x reader

Part One

It was your third day on the job. The tag of your blouse was itching the back of your neck again. You had already decided that after your first paycheck, you'd buy some better dress clothes. For now, you needed to suck it up and be perfectly professional. Being good at your job wasn't only a matter of personal satisfaction, but also life or death.

It wasn't that they had threatened to kill you outright if you did a bad job. But after reading the employee handbook, it seemed pretty implied that you would quickly be disposed of if you didn't meet their expectations.

With that being said, it was hard to be good at a job you were nervous at.

You could feel someone watching you for a few minutes. You fought the urge to scratch your neck.

Heidi's sudden movement to stand in front of your desk made you jump. Like all of the vampires, she was incredibly fast and devastatingly beautiful. Something about her was different-- she made you blush just by showing up.

You stood up quickly, as you were supposed to whenever any of the vampires came by.

"Welcome home, Heidi." You said mechanically, forcing a small smile. Heidi's hand was smoothing back your hair in a flash, and her bright red eyes were locked on your own.

"Relax, Y/N. It's three minutes after the end of your shift for the day. Why don't you let me walk you back to your room?"

You swallowed hard, flinching a little as her cool hand moved from your hair to caress your cheek.

"I-ah, that is very nice of you. I still have to log off the computer and tidy, so I don't want to hold you up," You said.

"I can wait," she insisted, withdrawing her hand. She stood as close as she could to the desk, unnaturally still and focused on you as you shut down the computer and filed the last few paid bills. While you worked, you tried your best not to look over at Heidi.

"I won't turn you to stone, you know." Heidi murmured. Her comment made you look up.

"You're just distracting," you said. Oops. "I mean, I mean..."

Heidi smiled, resting her chin on her palm on the top counter of your desk.

"What I really mean is," you said, slowly so that you could think through each word, "Is that I lose my train of thought when I'm with you."

Heidi's smile widened. "That's okay. I think it's cute. You get the most adorable little look on your face, like you're lost."

You could feel your face heating up. You grabbed your water bottle and pushed in your chair.

"S-so," you began as she began to walk. She was wearing heels and her gait was quick and smooth, and you found yourself rushing to keep up. "Um, how was your day?"

"It was fantastic." Heidi said. "I had a very good catch, as I'm sure you saw. You were very natural when you greeted them. I let the masters know you're fitting in very well." Heidi said. She took your elbow and pulled you along with her as she turned a corner.

"Thanks. I'm really trying but this is sort of my first real job. Well, technically my second but my first not working for my family."

"You're estranged from them, right? Master Aro mentioned it. We don't take people who have close ties with others on the outside. It makes the transition too difficult." Heidi said. He hand crept down from your elbow until she was holding your clammy hand in her cool hand.

"Yeah. They um, kinda kicked me out. So I don't want to mess this up." You said. Looking around, you realized you didn't recognize this part of the castle. Heidi surely knew her way, so you didn't say anything.

"You're doing very well," she assured you. Her voice took on that quality it did when she was leading the humans to slaughter. Even knowing this it was hard to not feel comforted. She moved her thumb over the back of your hand a few times before opening a door and holding it open for you.

You walked though, expecting to find yourself in another hallway. Instead, you were in a large sitting room.

"Um," you began. Heidi took off her shoes and set them on a rack. She turned back to you, already unzipping herself out of her dress.

"Yes?"

"This isn't my room," you said quietly.

"Oh, well no it's not." she said, walking towards you. She turned around at the last second, her back to you. She moved her hair in front. "Can you unzip it the rest of the way? I don't want to rip the dress."

You tentatively pulled at the zipper, resting your other hand on her back to hold the dress in place. When you were done you pulled away, and she shimmied out of her dress.

You averted your eyes, face heating up again.

"I wanted to spend a little time with you. Why aren't you looking at me?"

You didn't turn to the sound of her voice this time. You had your back to her, shielding your peripheral vision with your hands.

"You're getting changed," you said.

"Don't you think I'm beautiful?" she asked, sounding oddly hurt.

"Of course I do," you mumbled. "But I don't... I mean... you didn't say I could. I don't know you like that."

You didn't see it, but Heidi paused in the middle of changing. She frowned. "That's... considerate of you," she decided. She changed into yoga pants and a t-shirt and informed you that you could turn around.

"I hope I didn't offend you," you said quietly. She appeared in front of you, making you jump.

"I'm just used to people not being able to contain themselves around me," she murmured, fixing your hair.

"That doesn't sound very fun for you." You said. Heidi was quiet for a minute.

"I..." she began. You waited for her to finish. "I remembered there's something I have to do. Let me take you to your room." she said, barely waiting for your reply before marching you across the castle.

As you two walked, you felt a wall go up in between you. Was she mad at you? Had she been trying to flirt with you? Had you rejected her? Was she going to tell on you to the masters?

"Don't be worried," Heidi said, leaving you at your door. She could hear your heartbeat speeding up. Not knowing what to do, she kissed your cheek and sent you into your rooms before running off.

"Done with Y/N so soon?" Demetri teased as Heidi ran into the underground training room. Caius was busy sparring Santiago. Aro looked up at her when Demetri spoke.

"Y/N didn't even look at me as I undressed. Y/N said I hadn't given them permission. Can you believe that?"

Chelsea and Afton exchanged a look. "That's nice Heidi. You should have to give people permission."

Heidi crossed her arms and sat by them. "Really? I thought Y/N would just... fall into my arms."

"Perhaps Y/N is not as entranced with you as you are used to, because they are your mate," Aro said. "We could go check, right now in fact--"

"Leave Heidi to sort out her mate," Caius grunted, holding Santiago in a headlock.

"Don't be discouraged, Heidi," Aro continued. "It's only day three."

"I bet it takes a whole month to get Y/N in your bed," Demetri said.

"I'd wager two months," Felix said.

"Oh, I want in!" Chelsea said. Heidi glared at her and she shrugged.

"Three weeks," Alec called from another room.

"Shut up, all of you. I'll be in my rooms," Heidi grumbled, getting up and running off. In the privacy of her room, she contemplated her interaction with you, wondering what she needed to do to gain your trust.
