vanessamontgomery is now listening to don’t by zoe kravitz→
date: saturday night, before the zeta party. location: mcounty road 12 tw: physical abuse.
“You know you didn’t have to wait with me,” Vanessa said smiling to Blake. He grabbed her hand, smiling back to her. “It’s all right. Not like I had anything better to do.” She rest her head on his shoulder. “Thanks. I’m sorry to cut our date short. I have some business at school to take care of,” she replied. Blake shrugged as he pointed to the upcoming car. It was an easy date. Blake was one of the few who really wanted the girlfriend experience; hand holding, cheesy dates, he even sent her cards on Valentine’s day and his family Christmas card. She valued the dates like this because it was more warmth than she’d ever imagine with Marcus, but unfortunately a promise is a promise, and Vanessa had to be back at the Zetas for Tori. Vanessa sighed seeing Marcus pulling up.
“Let’s go,” Marcus demanded.
Vanessa looked down to Blake and shrugged. “See you later Blake,” she spoke, leaning own to hug him goodbye. Vanessa took a deep breath as she stepped into the car with Marcus. It was quiet for a moment neither of them saying anything. “So how was your ni-” “What the hell was that?” Marcus asked. Vanessa bit her lip not sure what he was talking about. “Babe can you just take me home please?” Marcus snarled as he started up the car and started driving in the opposite direction. “So that’s Blake huh?” Vanessa grabbed his open hand lightly and shrugged,” Yeah I guess.” She sighed looking out the window. She just wanted one good night. This party needed to go well and Vanessa just wanted to have some fun with her friends. It felt like she was so out of the mix lately that she wanted this night to just ground herself again.  She was thrown out her thoughts as she felt Marcus’ hand gripping on her forearm. “Marcus stop!” “Answer my question! Do you love him?” Vanessa shook her head looking out the window. He mumbled something, she overhead a bitch but nothing else. Probably best if she didn’t ask for more. Wouldn’t be an answer or better yet reaction Vanessa would like. Marcus stepped on the gas, letting the speed meter go over 90. Vanessa turned to him,” You missed the exit...” Marcus laughed as he pressed his foot harder on the gas. “Marcus… Honey… slow down please! You’re… you’re gonna crash!” Vanessa tried to reason with him, but he ignored her. “Just you wait,” he whispered. Marcus turned onto a dirt road up the freeway, completely stopping the car. He cut the engine off as he stepped foot out of it. Vanessa followed him out, holding onto his shoulder. “Just calm down, babe. I don’t love him I love you! Look I don’t know what’s going on with you right now, but I can’t do this anymore. After tonight, we’re… we’re done. This isn’t good for us anymore,” Vanessa said weakly. Marcus laughed heavy and turned to face her, “Say something else.” Vanessa’s lip was immediately closed once he approached her, her eyes growing wide as he stood before Vanessa. Marcus’ body jerked back as he slapped Vanessa to the floor. “Alright…” Marcus breathed out. Duncan whaled on Vanessa’s chest repeatedly until it was completely purple. He kicked Vanessa in the gut as he inched closer to her face. “Ain’t no woman of mine going to out man me. You understand? Getcha ass back in that car and I betta not hear a pen drop or so help me I’ll tear every bone out of your body,” Marcus warned. Vanessa thought for a minute what he could do throughout the pain. Vanessa stumbled her way back to the car, coughing up blood. She sat in the front seat leaning on the door for support. “I love you, Van. Now if you just acted right we wouldn’t have to be like this towards each other. You know I hate hurting you. It hurts me to see you hurt,” he said softly. Vanessa looked into his eyes, and spit directly on Marcus’ face. Marcus wiped the spit off his face and grunted. “I suggest you apologize before something bad happens,” Marcus demanded. Vanessa remained silent. Her voice too shot from sadness in anger to manage words. Marcus sped the car up once again laughing more and more as the speed meter came closer and closer to 110 mph. His hand stopped at the unlock button, silently pressing the passenger side to unlock. Marcus let his hands of the wheel for a quick second to open Vanessa’s door. Vanessa, still using the door as support, flew out the door trampling down the dirt road. Her body collided with a tree, her body smashing against it. Her eyes flutter between being open and closed as a light came near her, getting brighter and brighter by the second. Vanessa closed her eyes tightly, until she felt nothing at all.

But I’m the Only One Who Needed Saving.
vanessamontgomery is now listening to towers by little mix →
date: sunday evening. location: luke’s apartment. tw: physical abuse.
“You know you didn’t have to wait with me,” Vanessa said smiling to her date. He grabbed her hand, smiling back to her. “It’s all right. Not like I had anything better to do.” This was one of her few clients that just wanted someone to talk to, someone to play the girlfriend role so he felt less lonely. These were the ones Vanessa especially liked. Her job was just to listen. Not be hot, or flirtatious, or anything desirable; just be there. She rest her head on his shoulder.  Vanessa sighed seeing her boyfriend, Marcus’, car pulling up. “Let’s go,” Marcus demanded. Marisol looked down to her date and shrugged. “I had a good time,” she leaned down and hugged him, saying her goodbyes.
Vanessa took a deep breath as she stepped into the car with Marcus. She didn’t know where his tone came from but she knew better than to try and question him on it right now. “So that’s the guy huh?” Vanessa grabbed his open hand lightly and shrugged,” Yeah I guess.” She sighed looking out the window. She never understood why Marcus got jealous about her dates. He knew that they were only dates. No under the belt touching, he got to approve what she wore, and he got to pick her up and drop her off before she went anywhere alone. Marcus said he was okay with it, but something was off about this whole thing.
She was thrown out her thoughts as she felt Marcus’s hand gripping on her forearm. “Marcus!” “Answer my question then! What did you two do?” Vanessa shook her head looking out the window. She wasn’t about to go down this road with him, not right now. It had been a few weeks without incident and she wanted to keep it that way. Vanessa wanted her sweet and loving Marcus and as long as she kept her mouth shut and legs open for him, he was like that. But then some nights… Nights like this where he’d drink himself under the table waiting for her to come home, he was a different person. “Just you wait,” he whispered. Marcus turned onto his street, completely stopping the car. He cut the engine off as he stepped foot out of it. Part of her worried as they were at his place instead of the Zeta house, but she tried to keep herself optimistic.
Vanessa followed him out, holding onto his hand. “Babe, how about we have a movie night? You know like we use to? We can be alone tonight… Just calm down for me, okay? You know I only love you?” she spoke softly, knowing better to use any force of tone. He didn’t say anything, just pulling her inside and locking the door behind him. The three peaceful seconds she had between that door shutting and the latch knocking was all she’d have for the night.
As soon as Vanessa had returned to his side after dropping her coat and bag, she grabbed his shoulder trying to comfort him. Marcus’ body jerked back as he grabbed her cheeks harshly, inching closer to her face. “Now listen here, no woman of mine going to be out touching on and hugging other guys. You understand me?” Duncan warned.
Without a sound, he grabbed onto her throat, holding it as tight as he could with his opposite hand holding her forearm down. Vanessa squirmed, but with her airways closing she couldn’t do much. “P-please… Marcus… I’m s-sorry,” she choked out. He released his grasp, nodding before moving to the living room himself. Vanessa thought for a minute what he could do throughout the pain. She nodded, not having enough courage for words. Vanessa stumbled her way back to the couch, coughing up air trying to find balance again. She sat on the love seat, leaning on the arm rest for support.  “I love you, Monty. Now if you just acted right we wouldn’t have to be like this towards each other. You know I hate hurting you. It hurts me to see you hurt,” he said softly, pulling her into his lap.
Vanessa remained silent.
His lips came crushing against Vanessa’s in a forceful kiss. She could take the Whiskey on his breath. She tried to pull away, but he was holding her head in place rendering any attempts to escape. With a last bit of might, Vanessa bit down on his tongue, pushing him off her body. The anger in Marcus’s eyes faded and turned into pure hatred. “You’re gonna regret that,” Marcus spoke furrowing his eyebrow. Her body was stinging with pain and it only hurt more the more she tried to fight him off. She knew screaming was the worst thing she could do right now and with how Marcus’ was such a smooth talker if any neighbors heard or tried to help he’d get out of it and she’d be in even worse shape.
A twisted smirked crossed his face. His hand snaking up Vanessa’s thigh and soon was under the hem of her skirt, reaching for her lacy underwear. The voice moved closer to her ear, “Only I get to touch you like this.”  In that second his hands were attempting to remove her underwear, through Vanessa’s fighting. She couldn’t figure out what hurt more, his touch or the stinging pain. “P-p-please. Stop,” Vanessa begged.
Her eyes widen almost trying to get stop herself from using that word. You never tell Marcus to stop. With his open hand he smacked Vanessa across the face, instantly shutting her up. Vanessa shook her head with tears forming in her eyes. Vanessa forced her eyes shut not wanting to see or think about anything. She only opened them when she felt a sudden grip on her forearm. “Don’t turn from me when I’m talking to you,” he demanded.  With whatever might she had left, Vanessa took a long breath, pinched Marcus’ side and took off running towards the bedroom. She locked the door, sliding her back down frame to keep him from bolting in. Everything in her was shaking. She fumbled around herself for her phone to try and call someone to help her, but it was still outside with the rest of her stuff.
“Open the fucking door!” Vanessa’s head shot back to the bedroom door. She covered her mouth, trying to hide her breathing and fright. The knocking continued, “Open this fucking door Vanessa!” She jolted up, opening the door slowly. Marcus pushed his way inside, making it slam against the wall. Marcus clasped onto her neck pushing her inside. He pushed the door close with his foot, then shoved her to the floor. He clenched on to a wad of her hair, slapping her on each side of her face. “Marcus!” She began screaming to the top of her lungs, not knowing any better. Marcus kicked her in the stomach, making Vanessa’s body go numb. She continued screaming, punching the air. Marcus drags her by her hair ends into the adjacent bathroom slamming the door shut. Vanessa saw the hand coming towards her face. She turned wincing in pain instantly.
After that, everything turned dark.

The Pretty Lies. The Ugly Truth.
vanessamontgomery is now listening to runaway by p!nk→
date: tuesday afternoon, after classes. location: marcus’ apartment tw: physical abuse.
mentions: @ameliarosen @mikeadallas @bcautyqueen
Previews are on,” Marcus smirked, as his lips made their way onto Vanessa’s. She giggled as she moved closer to him, practically sitting on his lap. He wrapped his arms around her waist holding her body close to his. Almost on que, Vanessa’s phone started to go off in her back pocket. She broke away from the kiss, rolling her eyes and attempted to reach for it. “Nessa… Who was that,” Marcus narrowed his eyes onto her starring at phone as she looked over the text. It was Lia. She was going in once again about Marcus and her suspected abusive. She bit her lip as she slipped her phone slowly back on the bed side. Vanessa hid her nervousness as she turned her attention back to Marcus. She leaned in to kiss him, but he backed up instantly. “Vanessa, answer my fucking question.”
Her phone went off once more. Lia.
Nessa, I’ve known you most of my life. I know when something isn't right, and shit isn’t right. But keep feeding yourself the lies, I know I did….
She put the phone under the pillow, not trying to let it sink in what he wrote. Marcus growled at her as he got up and walked into the bathroom. Vanessa quickly texted him back pressing send. As she looked down on Lia’s text with shock written all of her face, Marcus grabbed the phone right of her hand. He scanned the message, looking up at Vanessa frequently. Duncan scrolled down her phone reading the messages not only from Lia, but Tori and now Dallas as well. “Babe… stop,” she said, nervously, trying to pull it back. The phone rang once again in his hand.
I don’t give a damn if he apologized. An apology doesn’t make it right! Especially not twice! You’re better than this and you know that. I was simply stating that when you feed yourself enough lies over and over you start to believe them no matter what people are telling you outside of them.
Marcus dropped the phone to the ground, his eyes glaring at Vanessa. “So I hit you did I?” he asked viciously. Vanessa backed against her headboard breathing heavily,”N-no…. I didn’t! Lia was just assuming stuff. I swear I didn’t tell them anything.” He grabbed her wrist with one hand, trying to break her grasp on the bed. Vanessa struggled trying to get away from him, but his grip on her was getting tighter and tighter. She brought her other hand up and tried to push him off. Marcus released Vanessa, but gave her a look. She fell back to the headboard hitting her against it in the process. The anger in his eyes faded and turned into pure hatred.  He straightened his posture, grabbed Vanessa’s wrist and pulled her up with him.
They were now chest to chest, Vanessa now having to look up to him. “You.. you promised,” she whispered. Marcus laugh manically, “Yeah that was before you started spreading lies. You want to say I hit you? Fine. Be happy sweetheart. I’m making you not a liar. Do you want to be a liar?” She looked up to him with fear, not answering. He took a deep breath, pushing her against the wall. Her back smashing into hard wood. She slid down the wall, holding her body in pain. “Marcus….” He leaned over grabbed her face, pulling it close to hers. “You’ll do as I say when I fucking say it. You don’t talk to any of them anymore. You understand me?”
Vanessa nodded, shaking her head uncontrollably. Her face was on fire, feeling her cheeks colliding with her teeth. Marcus grabbed her by her sweat shirt pulling her up from the floor. Vanessa held her breath. She was trying her hardest not to scream, squeal, or make any noise that would make this worse. All she did was bring her hands to her face, covering it completely as she shut her eyes. “You’ll look me in the eyes when I talk to you,” he demanded. Marcus slapped the side of her head, making Vanessa crash to the floor. She tried to fight back tears, but the pain was overwhelming. Her body tensed up and her skin was shaking. Marcus reached out his hand trying to help her up. Vanessa just held her body not sure if it was a trick or not. He leaned down sitting on the ground with her. He caressed her hair, “I love you Nessa. If you would just act right. I could show you how much I really loved you. I would kiss you welts more than I would make them, but you make me do this. If you were a good girl,” he whispered. Vanessa swallowed down her sorrow looking him in his eyes with hurt. “I-I’m sorry. I’ll act better. I have to be. I’ll be better,” she choked out. Marcus jumped up, now smiling, “Get up.” Vanessa attempted to move but her body ached. “Get up!” he repeated. Without waiting for another attempt, using both hands, Marcus lifted her in the air forcibly pressing her against the wall. With tears flowing down her face, she dared not look into his eye. He grunted with frustration, he moved her across the wall, causing her back to hit the dresser and all the small items such as frames, ornaments, and my make up to fall on the ground, causing them to go crashing to the floor. “Marcus stop! You’re hurting me!” Vanessa’s heart now racing knowing she had broken a rule. She asked him to stop. You never ask Marcus to stop. “Excuse me?” he asked with a twisted smile. He looked up, matching his eyes at hers. They were full of fury. “Baby I’m sorry! I-I don’t know what I was thinking!” Vanessa cried out. He moved his hands from her waist to her shoulders, making sure it was impossible for her to move. She shook in place, taking short breaths growing faster and faster by the second. “Baby…” Marcus whispered, giving her a small kiss against her cheek. She responded by kissing back, but she didn’t move nor talk. He broke away from the kiss. Vanessa let out a sigh of relief feeling the worst was over. But it was only the calm before the storm. Marcus clenched his fist punching her chest in. She fell to the ground. Don’t get up, don’t scream, don’t speak, don’t do anything. She cried as her head began nabbing. She put her hand through her hair feeling it knotting up from the inside. She looked at her hand seeing the crimson patched of blood covering her finger tips. She swallowed deeply, took a deep breath and screamed out Marcus’ name as loud as possible. He ran over to her, and stopped as he saw her on the ground, blood all over my hands. “Baby… Baby what happened? Did you hit something?” Vanessal’s eyes widen hearing him. “A-are you kidding me! You hit me Marcus! You threw me against the wall like a rag doll!” she shouted back. “I’m sorry, Nessa,, but I don’t know what you’re talking about. I think you hit your head a little bit to hard. Are you sure you didn’t run into something trying to get up off the floor?” Vanessa looked at him with totally disbelief.  She grew tired and suddenly dizzy. “Babe..,” he started off, stepping over making his way to the bed. “I’m sooo-“ “Sorry?” Vanessa said cutting him off, still not looking at him. “Because that’s what you said last time. And the time before that. And all the other times.” “Vanessa... please.” “NO,” She asserted using the wall to pull herself up.   Vanessa shook her head with tears forming in her eyes, stumbling towards the door. She turned feeling a sudden grip on her wrist. “You’re not going anywhere,” he demanded. What am I to do when my heart says leave, but my feet won’t move. Vanessa tugged her arm back,” Get off me! I’m going to get my head checked. Make sure that you didn’t break me anymore than you’ve already done.” Marcus growled starring into her eyes. “And say what! Say that you ran into a door? Say that you crashed into the wall? Because that’s what happened. I didn’t lay a finger on you. All I did was guide you through the room as you ran into objects. You’re clumsy Vanessa. You did this to yourself,” he explained. Marcus tightened his grip on her wrist pressing her against the wall once more. Vanessa winced caving her body, feeling it wanting to break down right then and there. “No one could ever love someone as useless as you. You’re garbage Vanessa. Did you know that? Ha the boys and I use to laugh about you. You are a slut like everyone said,” he smirked. Vanessa clenched her teeth down, feeling the words hitting her heart like knives. She wasn’t going to let Marcus have the last word. She built up what little strength she had left and kneed Duncan in the stomach. Duncan feel to the floor, groaning in pain. Vanessa leaped over him grabbing her phone, then heading for the stairs. “Get back here,” Marcus shouted trying to catch up with her. Vanessa hurried, fumbling her hands trying to rush out the door. She slams the door open not worrying about closing it or not. She ran as fast as she could. Vanessa didn’t have a destination in mind. She just ran and ran until her lungs began to deplete. She stopped holding her chest tightly as she collapsed to the floor.
