Locker’s Door (EJ Caswell x Reader)

“I never knew I mattered this much to you.” &  “That wasn’t what I asked.”

Y/N never like to fight fire with fire. She was taught better but lately some cheerleaders have been testing her patiences. Y/N was best friends with EJ. Since EJ was popular and everyone liked him, mostly girls. The cheerleaders would get jealous if they saw Y/N near EJ. They would always pick on her or push her when EJ wasn’t looking. 

One day, EJ and Y/N were talking by her locker. When some cheerleaders came up and blocked EJ’s view of Y/N. “There you are” The chick spoke way too happy. “Hey” EJ replied. “I need help with some homework for math” She spoke, pouting, making Y/N gag at her fakeness. The girl turned around annoyed. “Y/N I didn’t see you there. How are you?” She asked, smiling fakely. “I’m good” Y/N answer smiling just as fake. The girl’s face turned angry to see the tone that Y/N replied to her. She saw that Y/N’s arm was leaning in her locker with the door open. The girl rolled her eyes and turned around making sure that the locker door closed hard in Y/N’s arm. 

“Fuck” Y/N yelled in pain. EJ quickly looked over to see Y/N holding her arm. “What happened?” EJ asked. “Oh I’m so sorry” The girl spoke once again with her voice full of fake. “Shit it’s bleeding.” EJ whispered seeing that Y/N’s arm was bleeding. “Let’s take you to the nurses” EJ spoke guiding Y/N towards the office. “Let you go with you guys” The cheerleader spoke but EJ quickly shouted a no. 

EJ quickly got Y/N to the nurse to get Y/N’s arm check out. Y/N could see that EJ was angry. He had his arms crossed and his lips were formed in a thin line. He was pacing up and down. Once Y/N’s arms were wrapped up. The nurse suggested for her to rest a little before going back to class. The nurse walked out and EJ finally sat down next to Y/N’s on the bed. 

“Hey you okay? You look like you’re ready to punch a wall.” Y/N asked looking at EJ. “That’s because I am ready to punch a wall” EJ answered, looking at the wall in front of them. “I don’t recommend it because the school is built of bricks and you will most probably break your hand before you can break the wall.” Y/N spoke jokingly and nudged EJ with her non-hurt arm. EJ just rolled his eyes and looked at her. “How can you be joking with a hurt arm.” EJ asked. “Cause it’s amazing that she got jealous that she would do it” Y/N shrug like it was nothing. “She hurt you with the locker door. She could seriously hurt you.” EJ spoke looking at Y/N’s eyes. 

“Yeah who knew that a school locker’s door could make someone’s arm bleed badly.” Y/N spoke confused making EJ once again roll his eyes. “I’m being serious Y/N” EJ sighed pulling his head in his hands. “I am too. I’m very confused as to what they made lockers of.” Y/N crossed her arm softly, careful to not hurt herself. “Y/N please” EJ begged looking at Y/N. 

“FINE, I never knew I mattered this much to you.” Y/N sighed annoyed. “You’re my best friend of course you matter to me.” EJ answered softly. “Hey don’t beat yourself up for this. They’re just little jealous girls that can’t handle their angry” Y/N shrug. She let her head rest on EJ’s shoulder. “We should report that girl for doing this to you” EJ spoke softly resting his head on top of hers. “Would that make you feel better about this?” Y/N asked, looking up to him. “She can’t just get away with it” EJ answered. “That wasn’t what I asked.” Y/N spoke. “Yes it would. It would make me feel like I am protecting as your best friend...of course” EJ looked at Y/N shyly. “As your best friend” Y/N agreed, smiling.

She couldn’t stop looking at him, taking it all in. She smiled as she let her teary gaze roam over his tiny face. He had her nose and his father’s mouth, and her heart was filled with love.

He was so beautiful.

Feeling a large hand rest on her shoulder, she looked up to see Troy smiling down at the baby in her arms, his blue eyes radiant with an array of emotions. God, she loved his eyes. She hoped Anthony had them.

Smiling contently as she rested her head against her husband’s hand on her shoulder, she directed her gaze back to her newborn son, whose tiny hand had now grabbed on to her finger.

She wanted to stay in his moment forever, she thought as she closed her eyes and yawned.

This was what happiness felt like.
