Stefan carried the cake into the dining room, all the candles lit in the darkness. “Happy birthday Rebekah.” He whispered as he set it down before her. As she blew them all out he grinned “What did you wish for?” But he didn’t wait for an answer before lifting her into his arms and laying her on the table. “I know what I want.” He nipped at the tender skin of her neck, desire overtaking him.
