But he knows you already feel guilty enough for having to drink his blood in the first place. If you know it hurts him too you might just starve yourself until you die.

So he learns to relax himself and just let you do your thing. You whimpered as you drank from him hastily and he runs his hand atop your head. Encouraging you and helping calm you down from your desperate need to feed.
