Fromis_9 As Your Vampire Mothers
Lee Saerom (Alpha Vampire)
Tumblr media
Ah, Saerom the Alpha of the clan and known to be one of the most ruthless in the sister clan
You'd think being the husband under her wing would be rather unpleasant but it's the exact opposite under her care
Saerom is literally amazing as she can juggle her responsibilities of being your wife, mother, and the Alpha of the clan
Literal softie for children such as yourself but when someone dares challenge her demeanor changes 360 degrees
Very... Very... Very... Patient, you could break a vase but if she sees it's nothing but an accident she'll forgive you
But don't let her soft and caring side fool you... If you dare misbehave she will not hesitate to correct that
Besides who are you to complain? You are married to one of the strongest and most powerful Vampire in the clan and she chose you
Privileges: She'd let you lay on her chest and lap, play with her hair, hug her almost whenever (If she's not too busy), give you all the breast milk you want, and most importantly, be under her adoration
Song Hayoung (1st Enforcer)
Tumblr media
Being the number one enforcer besides Jiwon can be quite challenging but not to her
She'd go through the entire world just for you and that's how much you mean to her
At the beginning, you were neglected, abused, starved, shivered, you name it
When she came into your life and took you under her care, that all changed instantly
Hayoung would swear to herself that she'll protect you no matter what happens and obligated to care and nurture you for life
She'd be the wife and mother you'd never had growing up and she fits perfectly in the role
But at the same time just like Saerom, she won't hesitate to discipline you if you act up and establish rules to keep you safe and in order
Privileges: Lots of cuddles, play with her hair, sings you soft lullabies, having warm cooked meals from her, and lay on her lap
Park Jiwon (2nd Enforcer)
Tumblr media
Although she is the second Enforcer, she is a video game addict but cannot play as much but it's a perfect excuse to spend more time with you
Loves to go out on shopping sprees with you and spoils the daylights out of you
But do not fear, her bank account is quite big and none of the bills hardly put a dent in it
Would take out to ice skate rings, she would always be attentive and hold your hand while teaching you how to skate on the ice to ensure you won't trip and injure yourself
Despite being a horror film addict throughout her entire life, she'd sadly could not watch as much as you were too young to watch such movies
That was until you were in your teenage years and that's when she began regularly watching horror movies with you and it's another excuse for her to cuddle you
Most importantly, she be a strong figure for you to look up to when growing up and would always teach you to be respectful and kind torwards others
Except that would be easier said than done as Jiwon is afraid of pigeons and despite being over 100s of years old she never got over that fear but you'd find it funny which is a win for her
Privliges: Lots and lots of cuddles, spoils you with gifts, being able to laugh at her when she gets frightened from pigeons, and always making free time just for you even if she's busy
Roh Jisun (Blood Sister)
Tumblr media
Jisun would lowkey be the chillest and laid back mother and wife you'd come across in the Vampire Sisterhood
But she's hard working and would often be the one leading the kitchen, she plans on the menus and what the kids will be eating on certain days and ensure it's all balanced and nutritious
Growing up under her care, you'd find her quite strange at how "indefinite" she can be at times
One time, you'd accidentally dropped a plate because it slipped out of your hands and Jisun would calmly told you to sweep it up
Jisun never once yelled at you nor has she lashed out her anger once from what you can tell
Regardless, Jisun knows she has a duty to tend to and that includes taking care of you, she changed your diaper, gave you baths, feed you, and breastfeed you
But she prefers for you to start learning how to solve problems on your own with little or no help from her unlike her sisters and it's her way of indirectly teaching you problem solving skills but if it's a major issue then that's when she steps in
"M-mommy, I-uhm... Broke a vase... I'm sorry..." You confessed and she intently stared at you... "Well, what are you suppoesd to do?" She asked you. "Uhm, sweep it?" You guessed and she chuckled. "Then why are you telling me this? You know what to do!" She pointed out.
Privileges: Despite her hard demeanor she'd always be there to give you all the hugs and kisses you need, she'd read bedtime stories, let's you watch cartoons, and go outside playing
Lee Seoyeon (Blood Sister)
Tumblr media
Seoyeon would be quite blunt and straightforward with no time to be wasted and she is a proud mother and wife
Because of this, Seoyeon would always be the mother and wife to support you on your goals and dreams and will provide you anything that you need
Seoyeon would often be given the task of babysitting whenever her sisters are away from home but boy she can manage her clan's children including her own
You'd see her left and right cleaning the house and always tending to her husband to make sure he's happy and healthy
But at times when she is relaxing, she is having a movie marathon with you in her room, and takes naps with you
Beware though she is possessive and strict with you... She'd always be holding hands and walking with you wherever you may go ensuring nobody takes her baby away from her
Sometimes be overprotective but that's because you are her world and life. She sworn to protect you no matter the cost
Has a strong and sensible taste in fashion that you would pick up after her, you two would often go clothes shopping picking out outfits when she was free
Privileges: Gifts you plushies, having a mentor in fashion, sneaks you gummy bears and milk tea, and maybe lets you oversleep if she is staying in bed with you
Lee Chaeyoung (Blood Sister)
Tumblr media
Chaeyoung just like Seoyeon can be quite blunt but is more teasing and loves to have power over you
Your relationship dynamic between you and her is unique, Chaeyoung would be happy to teach you how to be a gentlemen and how you should properly treat a lady
As your mother and wife, it's also her duty to make sure that all adult topics are held off until you are of age so she has to be becareful on what she says and do though she likes to throw some hints there and then
Regardless, she absolutely adores you, she hardly ever leaves your side and always there to comfort and nurse you whenever you cry for her attention
But she also shares the duty of babysitting with Seoyeon and would switch shifts. But Chaeyoung can handle all of her sister's and her own children all on her own
She is not afraid to show any or shower you with her motherly affection towards you in public or in private as she is one poud momma
Loves to have your head on her chest and lap giving her the oppurtunity to stroke your hair and take sleepy pictures of you
But as you grow older, Chaeyoung's expectations get higher and would expect you to cater to her sexual desires and not be afraid to speak of your needs to her
Privliges: Being able to speak freely, would feed you delicious homemade food and snacks, give backhugs, lay on her nude chest, and would give you photos to keep on you so you can think about her when she's not around you
Lee Nagyung (Scout Vampire)
Tumblr media
Nagyung can be seriously chaotic due to her hyper energy and even at times acts like a kid herself despite her old age
But Nagyung knows how to control that energy and is very aware how much damage she can do to you as you are a human and can easily be broken with a Vampire's brute super strength
You would often find yourself playing with Nagyung either in the park or in the playroom
Sometimes she may or may not forget to follow the naptime scheldules and would be scolded many times from Hayoung and Jiwon
Nagyung would love to cuddle and snuggle you and prefers you to be on top of her so she can hug you tightly
When you are at a legal age, Nagyung would barely wear any pants or shorts and would only wear her panties at home which you didn't mind
Not only it's more comfortable for Nagyung but it's a way for her to get your attention and she'd giggle and tease you whenever she catches you staring
Nagyung doesn't mind showing off a bit to you or her sisters but she had to be mindful that she cannot show in front of their husbands
Privileges: Again lots of cuddles, lots of playtime inside and outside, seeing her cute and energetic side, will do aegyo for you, and lets you watch her change
Baek Jiheon (Youngest Blood)
Tumblr media
Although this sunshine Vampire is the youngest of her sisters, that doesn't make her any less mature and knows what's best for her husband
Absolutely smart, she graduated the top of her class in the academy and will help you any way if you get stuck on a question
It warms her sister's hearts seeing how well you two bond despite Jiheon adopting you at an early age as Vampires her age don't adopt their husband until they are around 250 years old and Jiheon is only 75 years old
Jiheon will be willing to do anything to help contribute to the clan along with her sisters and will often times juggle her responsibilities between being your wife/mother and her duties in the clan
At nights, Jiheon would be reading you bedtime stories and singing lullabies until you fall asleep in her arms
Movie nights are a must for her because that's a special tradition in your guy's relationship even if you are fully grown adult you've never grown tired of it and that makes Jiheon happy
But there are times when you may act up and boy, she would not tolerate bad behavior and I gurantee she will deliver a reasonable punishment
Jiheon would often be the one running her sister's errands being the youngest so she brings you along as an excuse to spend more time with you
Privileges: Seeing her adorable smile, lots of cuddles and snuggles, lets you choose the movies, let's you play outside, and having a tutor

Can we call this a date? || Baek-Sang x Reader
Summary:
Exhausted by your brother's demands to have tofu, plus the annoying message ringing from the pink-haired man who re-dyed his hair telling you to check out Busan, you eventually come to the solution that you'll take a short walk to the market in Busan. Fortunately for you, you found a face that can amuse you.
Note:
3.2k words, written before chapter 536 and based on personal interpretation. It feels a bit ordinary but you might be interested in the last part.
Cw:
Violence, Threats, Intimidation. Only the last part.
Tumblr media
This is absurdity when the world shows that anything can happen if its desired. Everything is essentially predetermined on a single path of destiny.
Here is a clear example. Just a few weeks ago, you receive information (and James rolls his eyes because you keep postpone your visit to Busan) that the King of Busan will be released from prison, and here you see a nameless henchman, handsome like an angel who rivals Eli’s glow-up.
Geez, obviously looking at how people around him can’t take their eyes off him either. Like, hello?! Hair fluttering, shining because of the wind coming from where? In this stuffy market? The vendor tents block the scorching sun, the fishy smell, and all sorts of things that can be sold in a typical market.
This person is clearly out of place; just look at how that old woman seems somewhat intimidated by his height, not to mention his serious gaze deciding which tofu to buy.
Yes, what a coincidence. Walking casually, you stop beside him, staring innocently as if you don’t know anything. “Hey, auntie? How much is this one?” You mischievously point to the one already targeted by this beautiful henchman.
The poor vendor feels the murderous gaze directed at you, stammering in response. “A… a, six hundred won for one piece. Do you want to buy it?” No matter how terrifying the bloodthirsty aura ready to pounce is, you just nod cheerfully.
“Wait, I want to buy that first.” There’s no shout of anger or a growl as you anticipated; this time you stop ignoring him. This henchman seems to be both fierce and calm by default, or maybe he’s a bit annoyed because you appeared out of nowhere and took something that should belong to Jinrang later?
Challenging him a little, you act confused. “Really? If that’s the problem, the vendor should have said that this one will be yours.” You turn to the vendor, making an obviously unimpressed expression, accusing. The one feeling accused (even though you’re not serious) starts to panic, stuttering more and turning pale.
Forgive me, auntie, you pray inwardly. But I will give you a tip!
“Alright, how about this. I let you buy this tofu, in exchange you’ll go on a date with me today. How about that?” Hmm, that sounds cooler in your mind than actually saying it.
Surprised, of course, passersby who overhear your conversation glance away in astonishment. The question is, who is this brave girl? Oh my God, such a tease. Disgusting, what the hell. Lastly, is the expression on Jinrang’s white-haired henchman’s face.
The words you expect—rejection, questioning your intentions—you immediately sweep them back, “That person will return to Busan, right? Because the reception should be the best.” You finally pull the lever, its intrinsic strength stronger now.
It feels like challenging death on a dark road; you know nothing about him except that he’s one of the important figures in Busan’s underworld. However, this isn’t the first time you’re dealing with something unknown and risking your life.
The wrinkles on his face deepen, but that doesn’t make you back down from getting a date with him. “How do you know? Who are you?” He’s still standing there; everyone knows you pressed his button.
“I’m glad you’re curious about me. If you agree to a short date, maybe you’ll find out. By the way, our date plan is to visit the food factories. I want to go to PulmuSoy, then ChongGa, and Sempyu. If we have time, we’ll also go to Daesan. Don’t worry, I have acquaintances.” Sometimes it’s nice to have connections everywhere.
But both of you know, all those places are in Seoul. A gray area for those affiliated with the King of Busan. There’s no prohibition on going to Seoul as a regular person; after all, which law judges you just because of gang fights and enemies entering territories practically owned by the state?
This unwritten rule is ridiculous. Maybe that’s why Gitae doesn’t care about his title as the King of Seoul. Who knows, you’ll ask later.
After weighing your decision internally, you continue. “If you’re worried I’m lying, you can leave me on the road and take the tofu away, easy peasy. So, what do you think?” Overall, it’s a win-win situation for him; he can get the best quality tofu without causing a fuss.
But what are your intentions? What do you gain from this? Your conversation partner just sighs. Maybe you’re not that bad, just strange… who knows, you’re just guessing what’s on his mind. The henchman pays for the tofu he wanted to buy earlier. “Alright. If that’s the case.”
Without waiting any longer, “What do you want us to use to go? Train? Bicycle? Taxi or….” Hmm, should you invite him to your car? The options you provide aren’t suitable for a date, but thinking of you both as strangers, practically not knowing each other’s names, being civilians would be good, you think.
“It’s alright, we can use my car.” Oh, such a respectful man, he turns out not to be that dense. Walking beside him, occasionally you glance at his facial expressions. For once, he reciprocates your flirtation. “Aren’t you worried you just met someone with bad intentions?”
Responding dramatically, you sweep your hair back. “Me? If I met one, I’d definitely die. Besides, I’m a fragile flower. So protect me later.” People who know you would undoubtedly accuse you of telling the worst lies in the world. But man, you feel a bit cringy with this dramatic acting, to be honest.
Your answer stops him from walking out of the market. He looks at you with a face asking, what’s wrong with you. Well, you’ve often received looks like this, and it won’t be the last in the future either. “You….” Maybe you should appreciate him for holding back all the harsh words there.
Rolling your eyes playfully, you snort in disbelief. “Pfft, if I were meeting a bad person, logically I’d just avoid them. You happened to look interesting, so why not while I’m here.” Yes, let’s just say you’re a fool infatuated with visuals (but, it’s true).
That’s a half-baked reason, but not entirely unreasonable. People beside you must be wondering why you know his intentions, not just that, about Jinrang, the King of Busan who should only be known to those who have ever dabbled in the underworld. You’re not an ordinary person, for sure.
“You… are strange.” He closes his eyes, not showing much expression. Maybe there’s someone far more eccentric than you that he’s met before.
“It’s nice if a man like you concerned about me, but I can always run away if I want to. Still, thanks for the intention.” You both continue walking.
Upon reaching the car you’re heading to, a car passes by. True, it’s just like that panel, this man stands in front of it, and looks exactly the same. The same luxurious car out of place like its owner.
Apparently, you are deep in thought considering that truth until he opens the passenger door beside the driver’s seat. “Oh, what polite man, I’m getting more interested in you. Do you have a girlfriend?” Such a boring question, you just make small talk. Strangely, you get a slight reaction. Is there something sparkling in his mouth?
Tumblr media
This marks the third place you've been visiting today, and surprisingly, the day hasn’t spiraled into a nightmare of thugs and brutal interrogations as you feared. Instead, an uneasy silence hovers between you and your companion, broken only by awkward conversations about tofu, which mostly are one-sided initiations from you.
Actually, it's not that bad if you are someone who thinks too much about what others think, because the view outside somewhat entertains you in this silence.
As dusk creeps in, the sun dips below the horizon, casting long shadows through the window of the restaurant managed by the tofu factory. A tofu dish is nibbled on, fitting the day’s theme.
Across the table, a white-haired man sits silently, his eyes fixed ahead. Glancing at his teeth, you notice something off but choose to remain silent. After all, it is your first meeting, and his name still remains a mystery.
Lost in thought, thinking about how today went and how the future will unfold, all that is interrupted by a sudden cough from your date. What did he eat? Is the food that bad? Observing where his hand is and what he is scooping, tofu buchimgae? You come to the conclusion that the glint in his teeth indeed means something.
Without waiting any longer, you call the nearest waiter to bring water. Glancing at him occasionally, you hesitate on what to say, as the waiter promptly hands over the water. More or less, your face and the employee's are both worried.
Should you apologize? Apologize for accidentally ordering food that you shouldn't have eaten? Of course, this is not something you expected. But it does not lessen your guilt.
Your mind drifts to James, silently cursing the redhead. He must be involved somehow, you muse. If it were you, you’d have known by now. Imagining his smug smile when he knew you made a stranger choke on the date.
This frustration bubbles beneath the surface, adding to the tension at the table because the cough of the man across you is getting worse. Oh my God, James, what are you doing with this handsome man! your thoughts echo, pulling your hair inward in frustration.
"I-I'm sorry, I don't know you...." your soul floats away from your body as he stares sharply at you from across the table. (Unbeknownst to you, James, staying at his hotel, senses your silent exasperation.)
The weight of unspoken words hangs heavily between you and the stranger. Do you have to do or say something? It feels like you've just committed the most heinous crime that humanity can think of.
Breaking the silence, you lean forward slightly and inquire, “Hey, how’s the food?” Your question mirrors the earlier inquiries you made at other factories, making the atmosphere feel repetitive and stifling.
A sigh escapes his lips, feeling trapped in a loop of meaningless small talk. “It’s fine,” he replies gracefully, picking up another bite of the safer menu item he is eating. Whether he genuinely means it or is simply avoiding deeper conversation remains unclear, leaving you yearning for a more substantial connection.
Attempting to steer the conversation to safer ground, you remark, "Let's forget what has happened, okay? Whether it's five minutes ago or five years ago, this silence and guilt are killing you." “The day is getting dark. Have you found the one you think is best?” Leaning on your hand, you wish to spark a more engaging dialogue.
“The third one,” comes his terse answer. His brief response only deepens your confusion, and the silence grows heavier as you struggle to find common ground.
Undeterred, you venture further, “I think the second one is better—larger and softer tofu. What do you think?” Hoping for more engagement, you seek a sign of interest or at least a shared opinion.
After taking a bite, he sets his spoon aside and asks, “To be truthful, what do you want to hear?” His question catches you off guard, marking the first time he has initiated a query since you agreed to the date. You at least hope this date will end calmly, even though all day the impression you got is bland and, you don't know, maybe it's because you're strangers and you're forcing your luck?
Frozen momentarily, uncertainty clouds your response. “It’s okay, I guess. From today, I come to the conclusion that you’re not the type who likes to talk,” you reply softly, disappointment evident. You wonder who you would report this sadness to.
“Are you finished?” he inquires, prompting a nod from you. Disappointment washes over you as you wonder if your time together has been a waste. Despite him paying for everything and even driving you out while you wait for a taxi, the connection feels lacking.
Silence envelops once more, thick with unspoken thoughts. A glance at his vibrating phone precedes his return to the street outside. Deciding to break the tension, you speak up, “Hey, sorry for dragging you all day and forcing myself on you. Thank you for sticking with me.” You glance out of the corner of your eye. What expression is he making?
Meeting your gaze, he responds with no signs of confusion, annoyance, or even accusation. Maybe all this is just a formality, “It’s not a problem. I got what I wanted, so being dragged by you isn’t entirely negative. But I wonder about your motives, besides claiming to know me.”
You think the answer is simple, the answer everyone would think of when they first see him. “Because you’re handsome,” escapes your lips before you can retract them.
His expression remains unreadable. Curse it, you are too used to complimenting someone without thinking, but when your counterpart is him who doesn't react at all, making you think of various possibilities, you are not sure some are starting to be relevant. “Have girls never approached you on the street for your looks?” you press, hoping for a reaction.
Still no response. “Don’t stay silent! You’re making me feel awkward… But actually, I need it to cook,” you add, attempting to shift the conversation once more. That is somewhat half a lie because you don't need it right now either. At most, you know it will last for a few days until your beloved little brother reminds you.
Curiosity flickers in his eyes as he asks, “You cook?”
“Yeah, I’m planning a tofu menu tomorrow. My little brother keeps craving it, though I can’t figure out why. Maybe it’s because he’s growing?” You hope to lighten the mood, but he remains stoic.
“Yeah, I can cook various things. I even have a YouTube channel with five million subscribers. We should go on a cooking date sometime. I can satisfy your appetite better than the restaurant earlier,” you continue, a slight change in his demeanor noticeable.
A slight smile tugs at his lips as he snorts, “Sure. I believe that.” You interpret this reaction indirectly as if he rolled his eyes.
“Your face says otherwise. Are you mocking me? Really unusual,” you mutter, suppressing it because of being upset after being ridiculed by someone who looks impossible to joke with, feeling both embarrassed about his response.
"If that's the way you see it, then so be it," he replies, returning his gaze to the street, signaling the end of the conversation.
Another silence. You feel somewhat relieved because this time it is not suffocating like before, and it feels like the daytime confidence, which was quite crazy to invite a man you know is dangerous, has returned. Time to test your luck again. “Can we go on another date next time? Maybe you could ask me out.”
After considering your request for a moment, he chuckles. My goodness, you are grateful you didn’t look away, forget to blink, and your breath is held as you see his sharp teeth, smiling beneath the stoic face that accompanied you all day.
No way, this is bad, your face flushes. You almost think that one day this man would want to do something bad to you and give that smile. You are not sure you can fight back even to speak.
Resisting not to gape too obviously, you rage inwardly for a fraction of a second. He responds, “If you’re willing, I’ll choose Sea Life Busan Aquarium for our next meeting. And hopefully, you’ll tell me more about yourself.”
Of course, you are willing to spend more time with him, even though you would be bitten by that set of shining metal teeth. Who are you to refuse handsomeness? Well... sometimes you have to remind yourself to restrain before everything gets messed up.
“That’s great! Here’s my contact,” you say, reaching into your pouch.
“You have something like this?” A thin smile still lingers at the corner of his lips as you hand him your contact card, with slightly raised eyebrows.
“Of course I do. I have a job,” you reply, a hint of pride in your voice.
Blinking in confusion, as if you just saw something inexplicable, he slowly pulls something from his pocket. “That's not what I mean... but if that’s the case, this is mine.”
Stepping slightly back, you hold back, “Wait! Give this after our next meeting—please you can contact me first.” You twist your fingers, thinking of the handsome man whose name you will know on the next date, plus he will contact you first. Isn't that great?
“I understand,” he says, and a taxi passes by, its lights reflecting in his eyes.
Opening the door, you wave goodbye. “Thanks for today. I’m looking forward to the next time. Good night.”
“Good night,” he replies simply before watching your taxi disappear into the night.

Alternative Pathways
Written from the latest chapter (537). Lmao, he is so wild haha wiping a bloody knife on Jay's suit? That's a different level of insult, you know.
After a ruined dinner, it also destroys your self-confidence, and somehow this white-haired man still faithfully stays by your side while you wait for a taxi. Anyway, the anxiety clutching your heart is unbearable, and impulsively you call someone in your contacts.
No need for much awareness, something shiny from the streetlamp light on your neck, and a hand holds you, pressing the call button, threatening without speaking as you look up to find a smile that presents all forms of cunning among sharp teeth after a day of just a face without an expression that was hard to read.
"I think I have indeed seen you somewhere. Quite far back in the days that made me the person I am today. Don't you agree?" His face approaches, his white hair tickling your cheek. Still flaunting his sharp teeth, the reflection of his light almost makes you nervously blink.
But you have often been in a similar position. Sharp objects, small knives, maybe the one he picked up from your dinner, cornered, and he presses deeper into your neck, the sensation of the cold object suddenly stuck making your goosebumps stand up.
Added with his ominous smile, you surrender to the hold and sigh in resignation.
Regaining your composure, "You are not wrong, but I am still a messenger compared to anything." You raise your free hand, bringing it to his strand of hair, stroking the base, up to near his face. "It's just a pity if we end with bad blood, while I was expecting the next date from your side."
"Then why not tell what's stored in that pretty head first and then decide what happens next." Unwavering, he is not affected when you twirl with his hair.
However, this is a good response; his knife does not press deeper. You continue, "hm, maybe the idea of continuing tonight will sound good if you want to hear more from me." Without the burden of worries, you tuck his white hair, softly behind his ear and slowly pull his face closer to you.
Closer than he expects, your breaths mingle in the air. "How about it? I'm afraid this will be our last meeting."
And that's the rest of your night. You agree to spend more time. Whether something else happens or after that you kiss or whatever, then talk about things or vice versa, all that, the author leaves it to the reader's imagination.

Chapter 1: Plus Que Ma Propre Vie
“According to Greek mythology, humans were originally created with four arms, four legs and a head with two faces. Fearing their power, Zeus split them into two separate parts, condemning them to spend their lives in search of their other halves.”
The worst casualties of this case are the Cold Ones. Cursed or blessed— that is up to debate. These creatures carry a soulless afterlife of beauty and hunger, wandering or an eternity looking for their other half.

SOLO LEVELING VAMPIRES AU!
a world where vampires live among the society, but only a few attain the power of immortality. Sung Jin-woo lives a simple life with his family until his father disappears all of a sudden. No body is found, thus leaving the family to mourn as if Ill-hwang is dead, but people believe that Ill-hwang had fallen into a prey for the vampires, which causes Kyung-hye, Jin-ah, and Jin-woo to believe in it and grieve even more.
Kyung-hye tries on various jobs, Jin-ah is trying hard to focus on her school and has been forbidden from stopping just to find a job, and Jin-woo is doing everything he can to support his family.
But until one night. . . Jin-woo finds himself encountering a small group of vampires feeding on an innocent human. Shocked, he slowly backs away, but his scent still manages to steal the vampires' attention. They growl with their chins coated in crimson and chase Jin-woo for his blood.
Not long after, Jin-woo gets injured and loses a lot of blood. The vampires inch closer, and Jin-woo is prepared for the end of the line and waits whether his blood loss will kill him or the vampires, but— unbeknownst to him, someone rushes in and rips the vampires into pieces.
Jin-woo wakes up in the same location, but this time, he's still alive. His shirt is torn and bloodied. He wonders what could've possibly happened to him.
One afternoon, he notices something strange. Jin-woo starts to smell blood even more just a few meters away. His stomach is empty as if he hadn't been eaten in months. And most of all, he's starting to find raw meat delicious. But the worst part is— he almost attacks Jin-ah and scares the heck out of his mother.
Frightened, Jin-woo runs away into the streets. However, with the amount of people around, his hunger starts to become stronger. Jin-woo fights against the urge, his gums aching at the sensation of his teeth growing sharper and his nails growing into claws.
Suddenly, someone covers his mouth and drags him away into a deep alley. Jin-woo finally gets to breathe and meets a young woman around his age, with short blonde hair and glowing golden eyes; she introduces herself as Cha Hae-in and reveals that she's the one who stopped his death by turning him into a vampire.
Jin-woo gets instantly mad and blames her for turning him into a monster. Hae-in justifies that she's just trying to save his life. But eventually, Jin-woo calms down and suddenly remembers his dad, who has been presumed dead and believed to be killed by vampires.
With this, he realizes that he can bring justice to his father's disappearance by hunting down each vampire in the country until he finds his answer.
Cha Hae-in — the one who saved Jin-woo by turning him into a vampire, had been a vampire for six years after an unknown vampire broke into her house and killed her family, yet took pity on her and forced her into becoming a bloodthirsty monster.
Choi Jong-in — the only person in his family who got turned into a vampire, but keeps it as a secret from them for the sake of protecting them. He's one of the richest vampires and knows how to control his urges for a long period of time.
Woo Jin-chul — a vampire who has immortality and has been known for maintaining order between vampirism and humanism.
Baek Yoon-ho — a vampire who only feasts on criminals.
Lim Tae-gyu — a vampire with immense speed and is also an immortal.
Min Byung-gyu — a vampire who doesn't actually like drinking on people and prefers to drink on bags instead, but in vampire society, only drinking on blood bags is unhealthy unless it's new, so no matter how he's against it, Byung-gyu is forced to feed on people, whether it's criminals or not. Most vampires think that he's weak.
Lee Ju-hee — one of Jin-woo's closest friends and the person whom Jin-woo entrusts to take care of his family while he's gone.
Yoo Jin-ho — also Jin-woo's closest friend and volunteers to watch over Kyung-hye and Jin-ah.

me: i would love it if Man Hwi is being a little bitch and f*cking around with Woo Hyul for literally no reason other than he can
also me: but think about it tho. they are both very old vampires (it's been established that Man Hwi is older than at least one of Woo Hyul's friends). they both dress in suits to this day, although Man Hwi skips out on the tie and usually leaves a button or two undone to flout tradition (and possibly piss off Woo Hyul whenever he sees him bc yk. Man Hwi). there's a possibility that he not only stole the gold from the mansion but may have kidnapped In Hae's father (i'm going based off of the shoes and the car and the suspicious house) but somehow he still passes the background checks. every time we have seen him on the hunt he has always fed from men (or tried to at least but was stopped, Mr. Ko i'm looking at you). our first encounter in ep 1 that we were privy to between him and Woo Hyul screamed queer energy (and bloodlust. but mostly the queer energy). iirc he was the vampire during the flashbacks that Woo Hyul scared off in the canyon back in the Joseon era. whenever someone mentions Woo Hyul's name he gets skittish and annoyed. he is hellbent on ruining whatever is left of his life. he will team up with a human who only offers as much info as he needs to to close a deal to do so. what are they not showing us what kind of history do these two really have and why the f*ck is Man Hwi so obsessed with continuing it

Birth Of A Monster |
Tumblr media
Choi Jong-in
→ born into a wealthy family. Successful, happy, and perfect. But beneath the surface lurked a dark secret. Choi Jong-in knew his parents were hiding something. As a kid, he heard screams coming from somewhere in the living room of the mansion; bloodcurdling screams of someone in excruciating agony, crying for dear life, and sounds of liquid splattering on the floor. It sent shivers down the young Jong-in's spine. However, he was smart enough not to utter a word about it to his parents. Jong-in tend not to study at night most of the time since he'd always hear those horrifying shrieks downstairs. He lived in a one big question in his mind as he grew. Contrary to the popular belief, Jong-in knew his family was all but happy — his father neglected him and his mother often acted cold toward him, only showing a loving heart if they were in the presence of many people.
Until one night. . . A twenty-three year old Choi Jong-in found himself clad in a fancy suit, as per ordered by his parents through the butlers. It was an important occasion, they said. Trepidation nibbled his chest, but he still went along, figuring this would be the time for him to uncover his family's deepest secret. He speculated that they were serial killers in the guise of normal people. And the moment the head butler brought him to a secret room in the mansion—
Jong-in felt his heart stopped.
Blood was everywhere. Blood clung to the walls. Blood crawled across the ground. A foul, strong stench of copper wafted in the atmosphere. It twisted his stomach. And worst of all, there were bodies spotted in every glance.
Two hands grabbed his arms. They were way too strong. Jong-in struggled until he was brought to the front where his parents, donned in exquisite clothing, but ichor was dripping down their chins and their eyes blazed in red. Their teeth had sharp jaws like predators. They were not his parents. . . They were monsters. Jong-in watched his father come toward him with a bated breath. The man was grinning and gestured him to a poor, fragile woman that was held by his wife. Jong-in just stared at the human in shock until he caught his father offering his wrist to him, it had blood coming through the teeth holes.
Nonetheless, Jong-in still hesitated. And as a result, he was forced on his knees and another strong hand grabbed his jaw to open his mouth wide. The patriarch hovered his wrist over to let small droplets of blood on his son's tongue. Jong-in winced at the most bitter taste he had ever met. Then, after being forced to swallow it all, Jong-in was freed and his body collapsed on the cold ground. His body twitched and his bones stung with his veins. Everyone watched him in the midst of suffering. And suddenly— Jong-in felt hunger. His vision turned red and the first thing he saw was the helpless woman under his mother's sharp nails.
He devoured her. He sucked the life out of her until she was nothing but a mere pale corpse. When his parents clapped and bid their felicitations, Jong-in felt his father's hand on his shoulder. The patriarch was about to say something when Jong-in twisted his wrist. Did they think that Jong-in would be under their command? No, considering the strong emotions Jong-in had been holding against his parents, his hatred was stronger.
So, Choi Jong-in ended up massacring the entire hall. No mercy, no change of heart. He sucked into each corpse before throwing them like dolls. And most of all, he decapitated his parents' heads.
Nobody knew what happened except for the newly born himself.
Cha Hae-in
→ Cha Hae-in used to live a happy and simple life. She had her mom and dad. She had her life ahead of her. She had dreams. She wanted to become a track and field athlete. . . But all those dreams shattered into ashes. In the middle of a peaceful dinner, a group of bloodthirsty monsters suddenly barged in and made no hesitation to turn the whole place upside down and wrecked it with bloodbath.
However, she was the only one who remained breathing. She laid next to her mother, whose blood had been mixed with her father's amid the slaughter. She whimpered and sobbed. When a foot stepped on the puddle of crimson, Hae-in turned up and saw a vampire, whose chin was coated by her parents' ichor and perhaps by herself. She was then lifted from the floor and a pair of red eyes blazing through the thick shadow stared at her.
"P— please. . . "
She whispered it as a plea to end her life.
Hae-in wanted it to be over. But then. . . She heard a response.
"Poor thing."
The next thing she knew, a thick liquid was in her mouth. It was bitter and had a copper taste. Hae-in didn't know what was going on, but she just found herself giving in.
She woke up afterward. Nary a memory was in her mind. But all she knew. . . She was hungry.
Alone in the middle of the field, Hae-in caught a deer. Her stomach growled as if she hadn't been fed in years. So, she had just made her first prey.
Baek Yoon-ho
→ ambushed by a group of enemies, mercenary Baek Yoon-ho and his acquaintances were in a brink of death. He could barely move an inch of his finger. All of the rest laid immobile on the ground, difficult to distinguish whether which of them were still alive or not. But Yoon-ho was never one to give up. Even with the bullet wounds on his body, he still wanted to fight. He had a mission and he must fulfill it in the name of his commander.
Unfortunately, he was too weak to raise his body. The moon was big and bright above him. All he could see was the souls of his acquaintances who had been shot during the ambush. He did not wish to die yet. For years, he had been in the military and endured worse than being attacked. He was known as the best mercenary in his field. If his commander could see his state, Yoon-ho would face the worst failure in his life.
Unbeknownst to him, he would be saved in the most unexpected way. When his eyes were about to close, a few droplets dripped into his mouth, rolling down his dry tongue. Yoon-ho swallowed in spite of the awful taste. And after a few moments, his eyes were snapped open and his stomach was growling, craving only for something no ordinary human could feel.
He rose up and sensed some breathing within the pile of bodies around him. So, Yoon-ho went over and stretched his mouth wide to show his extended sharp jaws before he devoured each of the life in his acquaintances who were still breathing, yet he sent them to the afterlife instead.
When Yoon-ho followed the trail of the enemy group, he wasted no second to barge in and attacked the guards. Not a mere bullet pierced through him due to his speed and the brute in his hands. Yoon-ho snapped their necks and pulled their heads apart, even their arms that held the firearms. The entire territory was painted in red. Yoon-ho stormed into the main quarters. Bullets quickly darted toward him. He did get shot, but he felt no pain nor it slowed him down. Yoon-ho tore them into shreds and glanced at the leader of the group.
He grabbed him by the neck. The leader struggled within his powerful grip. Yoon-ho tightened it until bones began to snap. Without waiting further, he sank his teeth into the skin and suck out the blood, ignoring the agonizing cries of his prey.
Min Byung-gyu
→ it was night when a group of vampires attacked him and his best friend, Eun-seok. They were dragged to a dark alley where no one else could see them. While they were pressed against the wall, the vampires discussed amongst themselves; Byung-gyu was not able to discern their words since he was busy struggling against the powerful grip the vampire had on his neck. Then, the next thing he discovered, the vampires had gotten into an agreement. One must die, the other must be turned. At this, Byung-gyu fought harder until the vampire attacked him and knocked him down. He didn't know what happened next. And once he regained his senses, Byung-gyu noticed that the vampires were gone. . . But instead of being relieved, a strong feeling chewed on his stomach, as if he hadn't eaten in a long time. He grunted and pushed himself up. Byung-gyu moved his head and found his best friend, who was laying on a pool of blood and coughing for air. Their eyes met, but Byung-gyu noticed the shock in Eun-seok's eyes.
"They. . . They turned you, didn't they?" Eun-seok croaked out.
"Eun—"
"K— kill me, Byung-gyu," said his dying friend. "Newly turned vampires need to feed or else they'll—" *cough* "—cause a rampage, right?"
Min Byung-gyu refused. No, killing his best friend of all people would never be the right option. The more his hunger grew, the more painful his bones had become, cracking and almost twisting within his flesh.
"Please!"
Eun-seok was begging. He wanted his life to end in Byung-gyu's hands. And also, he didn't wish to see him have more burden on his shoulders if he killed three or more people.
Byung-gyu cried at the pain and squeezed his eyes shut, resisting the powerful urge driven by his hunger. Eun-seok dragged himself across the cold ground amidst the amount of blood oozing out of his body as a result of the torture the vampires had given him. When he raised his hand, Byung-gyu suddenly slammed his wrist against the ground, so hard he might've cracked it. But Byung-gyu had lost his humanity after fighting his hunger. There was no way for him to feel regrets.
"It's going to be okay."
Those were the last words Byung-gyu heard before he opened his mouth and sank his teeth on his best friend's flesh, devouring the life out of him completely.
Sooner or later, Byung-gyu would come to his senses and see what he had done. Life shall never be the same for him.
Lim Tae-gyu
→ over a hundred year ago, twenty-seven year old Lim Tae-gyu made a deal with a devil. No really, that 'devil' was an old man who lived in a cave and was believed to be a seer, a sorcerer, or a person who had no known bloodline in the village. Everyone had their own speculations to tell about that old man who spent most of his days within the woods. Lim Tae-gyu had only been earning little amount of money to support his family and also help his father with his debt. It got to the point where he had no other options when a group of bandits barged into his home and declared that if the debt had not been fulfilled by midnight, bloodshed will coat the floor.
And so here he was, begging for the old man to help him. The old man listened and a smile formed across his wrinkly features. He got up and picked up a wooden bowl. Tae-gyu waited patiently as he let the old man do whatever he must do — however, he heard a faint squelching sound. He elected to ignore it until the old man walked back to him and offered him the bowl, which now contained a deep red liquid with an odd scent wafting to his nostrils. Tae-gyu flinched.
"Drink this, and your nodus will disappear," said the old man. "And oh, make sure to be at the location of the root of your problems by night. The spell takes lace if the drinker is in the vicinity of the area."
Tae-gyu drank it in one gulp. He shivered at the pungent taste. He drew the back of his hand to wipe the excess liquid on the corners of his mouth. He placed the bowl down and got up, bending forward to express his deep gratitude for the old man.
He left, unaware of the sinister glint in the mysterious elder's eyes.
When the night fell, Tae-gyu stood behind the tree that was near the house the bandits were residing. He waited for the so-called spell to appear. Would the bandits be cursed? Or the ghouls would swarm the house?
Then, his bones began to twitch. Tae-gyu grunted at the pain and continued waiting. Another twitch occured again, but this time, it felt as if something was twisting his bones. Tae-gyu bit his lips to hold back his scream and ended up puncturing his teeth into the epidermis, his tongue tasting his own ichor that had grown more foul the more he resisted the pain.
His knees met the ground and Tae-gyu slowly released his agony. Someone might've heard him. But the thought was the least of his worries, let alone thinking of the old man who said that he would help him. It was too late for him to regret. Tae-gyu's vision soon changed until he felt nothing but an insatiable greed for blood.
Any trace of humanity and rational sense faded in a flick. Tae-gyu headed toward the house and shoved the door open. The bandits stopped their drinking and turned to the intruder.
"Oi! Aren't you the son of that geezer?" One of them said. "How bold of you to—"
One swift movement brought the man's head to fall on the floor, dripped with deep crimson. The intruder himself now stood in the center of the house and eyed every single bandit in fury. All of them were speechless, yet still managed to unsheathe their swords.
A bloodshed had begun.
Excruciating screams filled the ceiling as Tae-gyu sank his teeth on every skin and tore them as he moved to another human. Blood splattered at the walls, the windows, the ceiling, the unfinished alcohol, and the furniture before they got wrecked apart. Tae-gyu's hands were coated in blood, as well as his chin, and his eyes were still menacing as ever.
Bodies ended up being ripped apart like rabbits, blood mixing with others on the drenched floor, and the monster himself still stood. His hunger was satiated and his humanity returned. Tae-gyu saw his surroundings and realization dawned upon him. His heart raced and his breath quivered. He glanced at the bodies he had unconsciously massacred. The bandits were slaughtered terribly that not even the strongest predator in the forest could do it.
The old man was not there when Tae-gyu went to the cave. Not a single trace was found. Angered, Tae-gyu punched the wall and left a deep mark on the stone, causing the whole place to shake. He didn't think he could come home in that state. So, Tae-gyu snuck back into his home and left a note, saying that he had somewhere to go and his father would finally live in peace.
Time passed, Tae-gyu remained the same. Even after his parents had passed away and he was the only one in the bloodline left. Lim Tae-gyu was an immortal.

~*~
“Alright Mr. Weylan, can you tell me a little bit about what type of person you are looking for?”
As he spoke, you surveyed the highly-coiffed man in front of you, noting the sky blue cashmere Brioni suit and the distinct scent of cologne that smelt like it cost $500 a bottle.
Despite the urge to roll your eyes as the being in front of you listed his requirements–predictable to say the least–you schooled your features. Flashing him your charming ‘service’ smile you gamely assured him you had just what he was looking for.
After seeing your client off, you sat alone in your office, going through the motions of getting his matches set up. Your mind wandered, something that had been happening quite a lot lately.
Sigh.
When did this job get so…so…boring? Your former youthful enthusiasm of years past had been replaced with ennui at best and apathy at worst.
Was it your clients? Or was it you?
Lately, your clients seemed so predictable.  Where was the uniqueness? The fire?
Before a client walked through your door, you were able to guess their type with upwards of 90% accuracy. You broke it down was follows:
Vampires: Delicate, sexy (but virginal), tall. Luminous skin, with a preference for bite play.
Goblins: Short (because they’re short kings), mischievous, intelligent, and into forging.
Frankensteins: Compassionate, loving, and kind. Literally couldn't care less about appearance. Good at sewing.
Incubi/Succubi: Good sex. Period.
And lastly, werewolves–
Werewolves: Voluptuous, sensual, and sturdy. Typically not as picky about appearance and–
“Boss, your 8:00 is here,” chirped the phone on your desk.
Strange. Mr. Weylan should have been your last client for the night.
“Elsie?”
“Yes, Boss?”
“We talked about this already, I have a date at–”
“Yes, I know, Boss. But trust me, you’ll want to see this one.”
“For your sake, I’d better. Fine, fine, send them in.”
You’d always known that helping immortals, many of whom didn’t sleep, find romantic fulfillment was going to be a 24-hour job, you just never anticipated tiring of it all.
Open 24/7 just like a fucking minimart.
No life. No lover. Forever fucking alone. God, the cliche of it all.
Turning to look in the mirror behind your desk, you fixed your hair, wistfully thinking it unfortunate that your date-night outfit had gone to waste.
Suddenly, the hairs on the back of your neck tingled, giving you the distinct impression that you were no longer alone.
A familiar pair of eyes met yours in the mirror, belonging to the last possible person you’d expected to see.
Your surprise must have shown on your face, as a sly, knowing grin spread across the asshole–your visitor’s–face.
“Ah, Mr. Byun, to what do I owe this distinct pleasure? I thought we had concluded our business relationship, per your request.”
Seated on your plush couch was Byun Baekhyun. A man who had made his fortune in tech, owning one of the biggest cybersecurity firms in the world. He was a big deal, everything he touched–businesses, inventions, people– turned to gold. There were rumors that he had ties to the underground, but this was just a rumor.
He was a big deal alright and a big pain in your ass.
“Aww, don’t be salty, Boss. A misunderstanding is all that was,” Baekhyun cajoled, patting the seat next to him on the couch–your couch–as if he owned the place.
You crossed your arms, taking a seat across from Mr. Byun. “I wouldn’t call you referring to my company as, “the worst t” on national television ‘a misunderstanding’, would you, Mr. Byun?”
Mr. Byun uncrossed his legs, learning forward. “Alright, let’s call it an unfortunate occurrence then. And please, call me Baekhyun.”
“Is there something I can help you with, Mr. Byun”, you said pointedly, refusing to take the bait.
“Why, yes. In fact, I believe you can. You see, I have a proposition for you.”
A proposition. A proposition?! What kind of proposition could this Grinch possibly have for you?
It must be business-related. Of course, it had to be. You weren’t naive enough to assume your charming good looks and effervescent personality had been enough to totally reverse this person’s worldview.
Was he in the market for a lover? You highly doubted that. A quick scan revealed a suit worth a minimum of $30,000, a watch worth double that, and loafers worth more than your monthly car payment. Not to mention, the swarm of media coverage that followed him from place to place showed he never had any trouble finding quality partners.
You decided to play it cool. “Proceed. I’m listening.”
“I like a woman who’s decisive,” he remarked appreciatively, eyes flickering from your head to your feet.
You pinched the bridge of your nose, trying to hide your annoyance. “Mr. Byun, I have many things–important things–that I could be doing right now.”
“Oh no, so sorry, did I interrupt your plans for a hot date?”
Your stony look accompanied by silence confirmed his theory.
“Ah, so I did. Oops, my apologies,” he said smugly, not sounding the least bit remorseful.
“Make your point, Mr. Byun, or please leave. Don’t waste my time.”
Mr. Byun put his hand over his heart, moaning and theatrically clutching his heart. “You wound me, Boss. Has anyone ever told you you’re a bit too serious?”
“Many times. Has anyone ever told you you’re annoying?”
That stupid, smug smile reappeared on his face. “Annoyance isn’t the usual reaction that I get from women, no.”
“This should be character-building then.”
“Indeed.” Mr. Byun chuckled.
Mr. Byun’s face turned serious and you hoped he’d finally get to the point of his visit here.
“As you know, I own a company–”
“Byun Solutions. I’m aware.”
“Yes, Byun Solutions is my public-facing company; however, I own another….side hustle, you might call it.”
“A side hustle?”
You couldn’t imagine why a man like him, a filthy-rich man like him would need a side hustle. You stared at him skeptically, a bid for him to continue.
“We’re a guild, of sorts, taking on requests and executing them per our clients’ wishes–”
“ –which I’m guessing aren’t all legal,” you guessed.
Mr. Byun’s eyebrows raised. “What gave you that idea?”
“If your activities were legal, this side hustle would be public knowledge. I haven’t heard one peep about it, so I assumed some of your activities might be on the other side of the law.”
“You’re quick, Boss, I’ll give you that. We’ve had a client request come in that requires some outside expertise. Yours, to be exact.”
He paused, not elaborating any further.
“This is all very interesting, Mr. Byun, but I’m going to need more information than that.”
“Of course, there’s just one teensy, tiny thing first.”
You smacked your hand across your forehead. “For the love of gosh, what?”
Mr. Byun reached into his briefcase, pulling out a thick, legal-looking document. He flashed you a brilliant smile, one you’re sure had charmed thousands of businessmen and women alike.
Pushing the stack of papers toward you, he pulled out a Montblanc pen and placed it on top.
“Just a simple non-disclosure agreement, you understand, I’m sure?”
Something felt off about this whole thing, but you couldn’t put your finger on what it was. Was it the fact that your #1 most-hated enemy was in your office asking you to sign some suspicious document? Yeah, actually it probably was.
“Come on, Boss. A little adventure wouldn’t hurt, no? Aren’t you tired of the same, old monotony?”
How the fuck did he know that? Was the man a god-damned mind reader?
You bit your tongue, not wanting to admit to this aggravating man that he was right. Hadn’t you just been thinking that very same thing moments before he walked through your door?
You cleared your throat, picking up the stack of papers to glance through them.
“Then I’ll need to read this through, thoroughly…you understand, I’m sure.”
Satisfied, Mr. Byun grinned, extending his hand in consent, his body relaxing into your couch, though his eyes remained intent on you.
When you were satisfied he wasn’t trying to con you into some illegal ponzi scheme or sell your organs on the black market for cash, you signed the paper with a flourish.
“Now that that’s out of the way, can you tell me what this ‘assignment’ is?”
“Of course”, Baekyhun replied gamely, “I need you to help me kill someone.”

CASE STUDY O1 . . . BLVCKROSE
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
O1 . . . VISION
blvckrose starts with a vision, curated by a woman named jeong misa. after being fired from a major entertainment company for reasons she’d prefer to keep under wraps, she worked independently. basically freelancing in hopes of landing a stable position somewhere. misa has a reputation. it’s not the best, but sometimes they say that any reputation is a good one. her work is good and her creativity stands out, but there’s something about her that unsettles potential employers.
she thinks her strongest idea to date is for a girl group with a vampire concept. has it been done before? absolutely, but never fully realized. sure, the concept has been used for a comeback or two, but she’s never encountered a girl group that‘s completely committed. maybe such groups exist, but aren’t relevant enough for people to care.
misa wants people to care. so much that she pitches the idea to about twenty entertainment companies, some well-known and others not so much. misa never thought her reputation mattered until it impacted the success of this project.
she meets someone who shows somewhat of an interested after three years: a businessman named baek yeongsu. misa doesn’t know much about him or how he got her contact information, but when he asks about her vision for a standout girl group, she knew she had to take the opportunity, no matter who is offering it.
O2 . . . AN INTERESTING SELECTION OF GIRLS
at the start of hysteric mystery in 2018, two members were already set to be in the lineup for their upcoming girl group, baek hyera, and her younger sister, baek haena—yeongsu’s daughters. hyera had always dreamed of being an idol. she loved singing and dancing, and her passion for performing was matched only by her desire to share that joy with others. it was hyera’s dream that inspired yeongsu to take a leap into the entertainment industry, despite having no prior experience in the field. all that mattered to him was that it was his daughter’s dream, and she wanted nothing more than to share it with her baby sister.
hyera was vibrant, outgoing, and undeniably made for the spotlight. but haena? she was more reserved, almost invisible at first glance. quiet and introspective, she didn’t seem like someone who would crave attention—or could ever be considered idol material.
beneath her shy exterior, haena held an undeniable talent. it was subtle, but strong enough to balance out the more outwardly confident and talented members around her. she wasn’t the loudest or the flashiest, but when paired with her sister hyera, their combined presence made them a balanced team, each complementing the other’s strengths and weaknesses.
the third member to join the company was chao sujia, a former pledis entertainment trainee. spent two years training at the company before she decided that she’d had enough. she had enough of being weighed every week, not being allowed to use her phone when she pleased, grueling schedules, and the constant need to ask for permission to go outside.
sujia was contacted by misa one month later. she vaguely remembered seeing the older woman’s face in passing at her former company. when she asked misa why she contacted her, she replied with, “i couldn’t forget a face like yours.”
misa promised sujia a lot. she promised a more relaxed environment after hearing about the struggles she endured at pledis. she promised that she wouldn’t have to train for much longer after pushing herself for two years. she promised a guaranteed spot in the group. in the end, two out of those three promises were empty.
but sujia sucked it up. after meeting hyera and hearing her about her passion and  motivation for debuting in this group, she felt inspired, gathering the strength to continue. despite the moments when she felt like walking away, the thought of holding back the other girls kept her going. she couldn’t bear to be the one to slow them down.
then came jang dohee in 2019, who attended the same high school as haena. haena and dohee weren’t friends. they didn’t even run in the same social circle. dohee was the definition of an “it girl,” known all across the campus for her charm, popularity, and always being the center of attention.
normally, someone like dohee would never even look in haena’s direction, but when dohee found out that haena was going to be in a girl group, that all changed. suddenly, dohee was haena’s best friend. dohee invited haena into her circle, made haena a key addition to her group, and expected the same in return.
she wasn’t using haena, she didn’t have to. dohee’s connections and familial wealth easily secured her a spot. befriending haena wasn’t about gaining a leg up, it was about having someone in your corner in a place where that isn’t always guaranteed. to dohee, having haena on her side would do more good than harm.
what haena didn’t expect was that dohee wasn’t as bad as she’d initially thought. beneath the polished exterior and attention-seeking behavior, dohee showed a side that was surprisingly genuine. there were moments of kindness and understanding that haena hadn’t expected, and while skeptical at first, slowly, she began to realize that maybe—just maybe—this unlikely friendship could be something more than just a strategic move.
the fifth member to join hysteric mystery was ryulia park, a troubled teenager who was already deep down the wrong path. ryulia’s rebellious nature and reckless behavior made her an unlikely candidate for idol life, but fate had other plans. she was brought into the group later that year, largely thanks to the influence of her grandparents, who were acquaintances with the baek family. the company saw potential in ryulia, even if she couldn’t see it herself, and through her grandparents’ recommendation, she found herself with a spot in the group.
ryulia hadn’t been exactly eager to join an idol group. in fact, she was anything but thrilled about the idea. she just saw it as an attempt to control her already fucked up life, another set of expectations she wasn’t interested in meeting. she felt like she was being shoved into a box she didn’t fit in, with a strict set of rules she couldn’t be bothered to follow. it wasn’t like she had her own plans, but nothing in her life involved any kind of fame, glitter, or group dynamics.but there she was, thrust into a world of rigorous training, bright lights, and expectations.
initially, ryulia resented it all—resented the baek family, her grandparents, and even the girls who seemed so excited about their futures. yet, as she spent more time with the group, she slowly began to see the potential for change. it wasn’t just about singing and dancing. the girls around her had dreams, too. they were driven, passionate, and determined to carve out a place for themselves in an industry that chewed people up and spit them out.
in time, ryulia found herself at a crossroads: continue to fight against it all, or allow this new chapter to reshape her into something better.
the final member to complete the group was lizzie oh, a talented vocalist from california. lizzie was a party girl, living a completely different life from most of the other girls. she stayed out late, hung around older crowds, and lived solely for the thrill. stability wasn’t something she was familiar with; relationships were fleeting, and she often kept people at arm’s length. she was the kind of girl who made an impression wherever she went. beautiful, confident, and unapologetically bold, lizzie was both loved and hated. you either wanted to be her, or you wanted to be with her.
when hyera found lizzie’s covers on youtube, she immediately knew lizzie’s voice had something special. her tone, the emotion, it resonated with her. hyera knew that lizzie was exactly what the group needed. but lizzie wasn’t easy to convince. her lifestyle wasn’t the kind that easily aligned with the grueling reality of idol training. it took countless messages, relentless persistence, and a lot of patience from hyera before lizzie even responded.
when lizzie finally agreed to join, the group was complete. lizzie’s arrival brought the final piece to the puzzle—a charismatic, dynamic presence that balanced out the other members. though she was far from the typical idol mold, lizzie’s uniqueness and undeniable star power added an edge to the team that would set them apart from the rest.
O3 . . . TEAM SPIRIT
it's much easier to establish a group when the members have had time to get to know each other, and that often comes from shared experiences as trainees. when you're training, you spend a lot of time with different people, collaborating on various projects, learning routines together, and often competing for spots in a debut lineup. whether or not you end up debuting together, those relationships form the foundation of trust, teamwork, and camaraderie.
the members' backgrounds played a significant role in shaping their bond. despite some initial hesitations and differences, especially with members like lizzie and ryulia, they all shared the same goal—to make it as a team. it took some time, but their time spent as trainees, often working together in different formations, helped them learn how to rely on each other, build chemistry, and overcome obstacles. it’s this shared history that, in many ways, makes the debut process smoother, even when personalities and experiences might clash.
when the girls can look at each other and know they’ve already shared countless hours of practice, hardship, and growth, it creates a level of understanding that becomes crucial for forming a group. even if they didn’t all start training at the same time, brining their individual experiences together allows them to solidify a bond that would ultimately make them work as a cohesive unit.
O4 . . . BLOOM NOW, BLVCKROSE
after two years of training as a collective, the name BLVCKROSE is decided. while the decision was ultimately misa’s, the girls, especially hyera, played a role in deciding the name.
while thinking of the vampire concept, misa had always envisioned something bold, something that carried a sense of power, mystery, and danger. she leaned toward something darker and with a sense of depth that could resonate with their future music and concept. a name that wouldn’t just stand out, but linger in the minds of their audience, much like a haunting melody. "BLVCK" represents a sense of darkness that is both captivating and forbidden. it symbolizes their connection to their world, where the night reigns supreme and the boundaries between life and death blur. their "darkness" isn’t just the absence of light, but a deeper metaphor for the struggle, the seduction of power, and the allure of immortality. they thrive in shadows, unafraid to embrace what others might shy away from.
the "ROSE" in BLVCKROSE serves as the perfect contrast to the darkness. it represents the fragile, yet captivating beauty of the vampire. roses are often associated with romance, mystery, and allure—qualities that fit perfectly within the seductive nature of vampires. the thorny characteristic of a rose reflects the danger and risk that come with their existence. for every beautiful petal, there’s a sharpness that could draw blood, emphasizing the danger of getting too close. with their concept, the rose blooms in the darkness, symbolizing their beauty and power that emerges from the shadows—graceful, yet deadly.
as misa take a deep breath and finally stopped talking, ryulia gives her a deadpan expression, arms crossed in her chair, "i think we get it now."
misa softly smiles at the girls, finally satisfied. "i just wanted to make sure."
