488 Years from Today, Grace Tempest will interview Darcy Flotsam about her life's story and crossing.
What we learn about Darcy in the second UK edition published 2020:
Darcy was born on Christmas Day in the year 1900, in "within the sounds of Bow Bells" in London's East End.
Her mother's stage name was Flora Flotsam, yet she does not know her mother's real name.
She never learned who her father was, although she and her mother had their suspicions.
She grew up in the spotlight with her mother, performing in venues throughout London.
Flo Flotsam was onboard with Darcy on the Titania, where they were on their way to Hollywood to become movie stars. They were both entertainers onboard.
The Titania is not the Titanic set in a parallel universe, but rather a cruise liner that became shipwrecked in April 1926, 14 years after The Titanic sank on her maiden voyage.
The Titania sank right next to an older galleon ship with a figurehead, where Darcy's soul was fused to the figurehead.
Divers from the Titania's cruise line went down to the wreckage to examine the damages, where the find the older with Darcy as the figurehead. They thought she was so beautiful and in pristine condition, that they brought her up to the mainland, where she'd later go to a museum and wake up in the storage room.

If The Nocturne is one of four Vampirate ships, then I wonder what and how the other three were named? Are the other three named after types of music associated with invoking the night, like The Clair de Lune, The Moonlight Sonata, and The Traumerei ("dream" in German)? Or are the other 3 named after the concepts broadly associated with humanities? How *did* they get their names?
Will we ever learn more about the other three ships, and their captains and crew?
I really hope Justin Somper will start writing a sequel series after he's done writing his Pirate Academy books. My inner child craves it.

If I could hire a Swiftie to figure out Lorcan Furey's crossing story (and what's the deal with his brother, Cathal?), I would. I would also forever be in debt to the Taylor Swift fandom.
Any Swiftie fans who are also Nocturnals? Calling all Swifties!

Soup Season is Upon Us
I was such a huge soup kid growing up, that the only reason I ever became interested in cooking was because I wanted to know how to make homemade soup. This question never bothered me until now:What was the flavor of soup Grace Tempest ate in her cabin?
was it chicken noodle soup?
was it tomato soup?
was it alphabet soup?
was it minestrone?
was it zuppa toscana?
was it gazpacho?
was it matzo ball soup?
was it pickle soup?
was it borscht?
was it wedding soup?
was it wonton soup?
Or, was it plain old instant ramen? WHAT KIND OF SOUP WAS IT?! I need to know so I can make it this soup season, gosh dang it!

Now that we are getting a TV adaptation of Vampirates, can we *please* get a manga adaptation of the series?
I mean seriously, everyone would look ridiculously beautiful as anime characters. Also, could you imagine what an anime Lorcan Furey would look like? Just imagine the Alucard from Castlevania with jetblack hair and blue eyes, and there you have Lorcan. That's reason enough for there to be an anime/manga adaptation of the books, no?

The only downside to Vampirates becoming a TV show...
Is the fact that Michael C. Hall is no longer in his 30s and able to play a young dad. It very well could have happened if the show had come out in the late 2000s. Such a missed opportunity for the same guy who played Dexter Morgan to play Dexter Tempest.

We Nocturnals know how Grace loves to collect crossing stories from vampires, right? I wonder if she ever got the idea to learn about how the donors made it onto the Nocturne? I especially want to know how the twins' mother signed up to become a donor, let alone her life's story leading up to her becoming Sidorio's donor. Speaking of life stories, I'd love to know where Dexter Tempest comes from? Was he born and raised in Crescent Moon Bay, and were any of his parents the lighthouse keeper before him? Is he an only child? Where are his parents and siblings, if he has any?
