Alappuzha(best tourist place in kerala)
Alappuzha is a well-known backwater best tourist place in Kerala, India, known for its boat racing, beaches, marine products, and coir industry. The district's top tourist destinations are Kuttanad, the Alappuzha backwaters, and Alappuzha beach. Kerala's backwaters are centred on Alleppey or Alappuzha. Alleppey is also referred to as the "Venice of the East" and is well known for its backwater houseboats, which have drawn tourists from all over the world to experience backwater cruising. Alleppey is renowned for its beaches, paddy fields, canals, lagoons, and abundant marine life in addition to its abundant greenery all around.
ALLEPPEY LIGHTHOUSE - In Kerala's seaside town of Alappuzha, the Alappuzha Lighthouse is located. It was constructed in 1862 and is a popular tourist destination. Every weekday between 1500 and 1630 hours, visitors are welcome for a 20 rupee (for Indian nationals) and 50 rupee (for foreigners) admission fee. On Kerala's Arabian Sea coast, this is the first of its sort.
ALAPPUZHA BEACH - One of the top tourist destinations in Alappuzha town is the beach. The Alappuzha Lighthouse is located not far from the shore. Beach is reachable via a number of municipal roads, and an elevated highway will pass by the beach as part of the Alappuzha bypass, maintaining the area's natural beauty. Camel safaris were a different beach attraction that was established a few years ago, but it was outlawed by the authorities. The well-known Alappuzha Beach Festival is held in conjunction with the new year's festivities. Every year, it is planned as an annual event. Thousands of people from different regions attend the event. On April 26, 2015, Alappuzha beach hosted the first international sand art festival and competition in Kerala. Many sand artists from across the country and the world took part in the event. The event has been co-organized by the Alleppey Foundation and the state tourism office.
VEMBANAD LAKE - The largest lake in Kerala and the longest lake in all of India are both called Vembanad. having a maximum length of 96.5 km and a surface area of 230 km2. In the state of Kerala, it is known as Vembanadu Lake in Kottayam, Vaikom, Changanassery, Punnamada Lake in Alappuzha, Punnappra, Kuttanadu, and Kochi Lake in Kochi. Small island clusters including Vypin, Mulavukad, Mardu, Udayamperoor, Vallarpadam, and Willingdon Island are situated in the Kochi Lake area. Around the islands of Vallarpadam and Willingdon, Kochi Port was constructed. One of the few locations in the world where agriculture is practised below sea level is Kuttanad, commonly known as The Rice Bowl of Kerala. It has the lowest altitude in India. On the southern end of Vembanad is Kuttanad. A section of the lake is used for the Nehru Trophy Boat Race. In some areas of the Vembanad backwaters, there are high amounts of pollution.
KRISHNAPURAM PALACE - The Krishnapuram Palace is a palace and museum that can be found at Kayamkulam, which is close to Alappuzha in the Kerala state in southwestern India. Anizham Thirunal Marthanda Varma of the Travancore kingdom constructed it in the 18th century. It is situated next to the Krishnaswamy Temple at Krishnapuram and has a gabled roof, a small hallway, and dormer windows typical of Keralan architecture. The Travancore Maharaja Marthanda Varma, who once resided there, left behind a number of artefacts that are now on display in the palace, which is preserved by the Kerala State Department of Archaeology. Another notable feature is a sizable pond located within the royal complex. Additionally, it is reported that a tunnel leading from the pond's bottom may be used to flee from assailants. A prominent mural painting called "Gajendra Moksham" with a size of 154 square feet is one of the many Kerala-style murals present in the palace and is said to be the largest such discovery in Kerala. It is situated on the western portion of the palace's first level. Also on show here is the Kayamkulam Vaal with two edges. One of the four Buddha sculptures that can be located in the Alappuzha District is housed in the palace's courtyard.

The National Shrine Basilica of Our Lady of Ransom aka Vallarpadam Basilica (Malayalam: വല്ലാര്പാടം പള്ളി, Cochin Portuguese: Basílica de Nossa Senhora do Resgate) located in Vallarpadam, a suburb in Ernakulam, in the city of Kochi, is a minor Basilica and a major Christian pilgrimage centre in India. Around 5 million people visit the Basilica every year. It is the most important Marian Shrine in India. People from all parts of the world irrespective of caste or creed go to the church to seek the blessings of Mary, the mother of Jesus, popularly known as "Vallarpadathamma".
The picture of Mary and Infant Jesus, installed at the top of the main altar of the Vallarpadam Church, was brought by Portuguese merchants under the leadership of Vasco Da Gama in 1524. In 1676 the old Church, which was known as the Church of the Holy Spirit, founded by the Portuguese missionaries, was destroyed by a heavy flood, and the picture was found floating in the backwaters. Nobody except Paliyath Raman Valiyachan, the Prime Minister of Maharaja of Cochin, could recover it. The present church at Vallarpadamis built on land donated by Paliyath Raman Valiyachan. A sanctuary lamp which he donated has been burning day and night from 1676 onwards in his honour.
In May 1752 a miracle is believed to have taken place which made Vallarpadam a centre of pilgrimage. In Vallarpadam there was a young Nair Lady named Meenakshi Amma, who was a member of a noble family called Palliyil Veedu. Together with her son she was sailing to Mattancherry. There arose a storm and the boat capsized. Meenakshi Amma and her son went deep down into the backwater. She promised to devote the rest of her life to Mary’s service if she and her child were saved. It was a promise she kept. On the third day, as per instructions in a dream, the parish priest asked the fishermen to cast net in the river, and Meenakshi Amma and her son were rescued. After her death, the church put up the picture of Meenakshiamma and her child alongside the painting of Mary
O God, Who through the most glorious Mother of Your Son were pleased to give new children to Your Church for the deliverance of Christ’s faithful from the power of the heathen; grant, we beg You, that we who affectionately honor her as the Foundress of so great a work, may by her merits and intercession, be delivered from all sin and bondage of hell. Through the same Christ Our Lord, Amen.
Our Lady of Ransom, Pray for us.
(Mention your request here…)
Say 1: Our Father… Say 1: Hail Mary… Say 1: Glory Be…

Vierge de Miséricorde Today, September 24th, is the Feast of Our Lady of Mercy, formerly known as Our Lady of the Ransom of Captives. She is the patron of the Mercedarians, a mendicant order established with the purpose of freeing captive Christians from slavery and imprisonment. As seen in the picture, the iconography of Our Lady of the Ransom of Captives uses the theme of Mary’s mantle of protection, in which her spiritual children are covered by her cloak as a symbol of sanctuary. Other images may have her carrying a bag of money, the ransom with which she frees captives. She is also known as Our Lady of Vallarpadam, as a basilica of Our Lady of the Ransom of Captives is found on that island, which is situated off the coast of Kerala. It is recorded that in 1752, a woman known as Meenakshi Amma was rescued alongside her son after the boat they were traveling in sunk; she had promised that, if she and her boy were to survive, she would serve the Virgin at the basilica, which she did until her death. Although the Mercedarians were originally established to rescue Christians taken captive in skirmishes against Islamic states, with their fourth vow promising to give themselves over to the power of “the Saracens” if it meant rescuing another, Our Lady of the Ransom of Captives remains a powerful symbol for those who are held captive by the prison-industrial complex that has grown so powerful over the past century. Perhaps take a moment and pray for all those who are jailed in your country today.

Chinese fishing nets at Kochi. Chinese fishing nets (Cheena vala) are a type of stationary lift net in India. They are fishing nets that are fixed land installations for fishing. While commonly known as "Chinese fishing nets". Huge mechanical contrivances hold out horizontal nets of 20 m or more across. Each structure is at least 10 m high and comprises a cantilever with an outstretched net suspended over the sea and large stones suspended from ropes as counterweights at the other end. Each installation is operated by a team of up to six fishermen. The Chinese fishing nets have become a very popular tourist attraction. Their size and elegant construction is photogenic and the slow rhythm of their operation is quite hypnotic. In addition, catches can be purchased individually and need be taken only a short distance to a street entrepreneur who will cook it. #chinesefishingnets #chinesefishingnet #keralafishing #fishingtechniques #keralatourism #kochitourists #keralaattraction #keralagodsowncountry #kerala #kochilake #vembanadulake #kochisightseeing #kochitaxi24x7 #waterworld #water #lakesideview #lakecity #fishingnet #fishing #vallarpadam #nh66 #dpworld #vypin #fishermen #netforfishing #ernakulam #kochigrams #kochigram #kochidiaries #kochilive (at Kochi Taxi) https://www.instagram.com/p/CLL745rHFnQ/?igshid=bqyhfb5kzuxl
