I might not care about Sanders sides anymore but fuck it, I got ideas 🤗
- Do y’all think Vee throws shit at Remus to see if he catches it (either he does with his head turning around like an owl or it smacks him in the back of the head) (no in between)
- Vee always reminded me of a cat, so he should have a cat and name it nightmares or something
- Virgil will randomly lay on Remus and not move. So Remus either has to stay there or pick Vee up and take him to where ever he’s going to
- since Roman knows Spanish as the language of love, Remus should know Latin. As in the summoning eldritch horrors language
- Virgil should know French. (Because I’m learning French and projecting)
- they both HATE the cold and cuddle together, even if Remus is cold to the touch. Virgil isn’t. He’s like a fuckin furnace (it’s 100% that big ass coat)
- they watch supernatural together, vees fav is Sam, Remus’s fav is dean
Ok that’s all, bye y’all 🫶
- Vee 💜
Y E S I L O V E A L L of this!!!
• Absolutely that chaotic Duke has feral Dog instincts and can and will either catch whatever's thrown at him with his mouth or get smacked
• Nightmares is definitely the Spooky Beloved's Cat child (They L O V E to spoil their fur baby rotten with affection and gifts)
• Ree's a winner either way he gets to have a cozy Emo in his arms just from laying down or carrying him
• Ree L O V E S to freak Ro and everyone else out by randomly chanting shit in Latin (Bonus points if he does it in his deep creepy voice)
• French speaking Vee is very underrated and I L O V E that for him
• Ree has his own personal Emo heater while Vee has something to help cool him down they're both winners in the end
• Ree's definitely the one that convinced Vee to watch it with him

i am here to pop in and say that your slopes playlist is pretty much the main playlist i listen to at this point. it’s fucking phenomenal holy shit
Thank you so much! I know that the music stuff (or the other side content) isn’t everybody’s cup of tea, but I put a lot of time into making those anyway, and I’m really passionate about making them fit will and flow! It means a lot to me that you liked it so much that you listen to it that much!
Slopes is very different thematically from the other stuff we write, and the playlist stands out because of that. It also stands out on its own for the vibes it takes: You don’t find many playlists exactly like this out in the wild. The Slopes playlist also follows a bit of story progression along with the flow, which is always tricky, but it’s so worth it to me. There were some songs in there that were very hard to fit in vibes wise, so it took a lot of finagling to make them feel natural! Now a version of the final chapter has been outlined I might add a few at the end, but as it is, it’s just really feels close to perfect!
Our playlists are writing resources for the most part, but every time someone listens to it or favourites one of them, I always get excited. They take hours to make and weeks to nail down perfectly, and I love it when people enjoy them even a fraction as much as I do! (And just so it’s clear to any wonderful people reading this who aren’t into music: It’s perfectly okay that you don’t listen to things or aren’t interested! I am not hurt in the slightest and respect your wants and needs!)
If you like depression Jams (the whole damn Slopes playlist sure is lol), then there may be a few songs on this playlist as well that you might want to hijack. Also, this one if you like rock and are just marinating in suicidal ideation, it’s probably for you.
I don’t keep private playlists, which means that if you really like music you can technically get spoilers for unreleased stuff if you pay close attention to the playlists (though stuff that’s unreleased aren’t done playlists either). Though it also means that if you pay close enough attention, there are spoilers on the playlists of released stuff too. The Dreaming Playlist is especially rife with spoilers. All Playlists are Fics up until Lööp, but some fictives from said fics also have their own playlists beyond that, and they could also be spoiling all the shit in there if you listen hard enough, too, I’m not sure. Lemme know in the replies if people want the fic playlists also on YouTube because if there was actually a demand I would take the time to do so. And if you’re just going “There are Playlists???” Then I am once again begging you to check the notes on the fics lmao
Anyway I Really love music sorry for the rant, for anyone who hasn’t heard it and are curious, here’s the Slopes Playlist! Content warning: There is so much references to drugs, alcohol, addiction, depression, illness, death, and so on in here! Like Wow! If you were in a good mood, you probably will not be by the time you get to the last song! Unless you’re an angst demon! If you are, you’ll probably be purring by the end, then.

Distractions
Fandom: Sanders Sides
Pairings: all-star cast of platonicness
Summary: The light sides are in a sad state of affairs. The dark sides are pretty good at offering distractions.
-------------------------------------------------------
Logan sits on the living room couch, head in his hands, slumped in defeat. Despair. Failure.
He's slightly jostled by someone else sitting on the couch.
"Aliens aren't real," comes Virgil's voice, definitive and assumedly directed at Logan.
Logan lifts his head enough to check. His glasses have made a mighty impression into his forehead but he doesn't move to adjust them. Virgil is very nearly glaring at him.
"Virgil, you yourself have created power point demonstrations centered around the validity of aliens. Since when has your opinion changed?"
"Since now. Fight me, nerd."
Logan leans back a little to properly look at Virgil. He could be mistaken for fuming, the way his jaw is set and the fire burning in his eyes. But no, he is merely adamant to rile Logan up. To what end though?
"Are you...challenging me to a debate?"
Virgil gives a sharp-toothed, satisfied grin. He is willing to play devil's advocate for a good cause.
***
"Hey, wanna dance?"
Roman windmills his arm in the direction of the sultry voice that whispered in his ear. The faint smell of garlic wifts in his nostrils, followed by a gleeful chuckle.
"Remus!! Get out of my room!"
Remus rolls back on his heels. He folds his arms behind his back and looks into the air, a thoughtful hum on his lips.
"Hmmm, how about no?"
"Leave! Out you pest!"
"Make me!"
"You would force the hand of your own brother?" Roman says far too seriously, and Remus gives him an unimpressed stare. "...yeah, you're right, this is very on brand for you. I don't know why I'm acting surprised."
Remus shrugs and throws his hands up in the air. "Alright, if you're done bothering me–"
"You're the one who came in my room!"
"I've got better things to do than listen to you whine, Prince Poopy Pants."
Remus goes to stride out the door. Roman watches him, arms crosses and fingers tapping impatiently on his elbow, haughty expression that says he's one push away from snapping.
Remus pauses at the door.
Roman doesn't have time to anticipate.
Remus snatches up one of Roman's Pop figures off his bookshelf and flees the scene. Roman exits stage right in pursuit, screaming.
***
"You can't stay in bed all day."
"Watch me," Patton says, a pout in his voice. He's buried under blankets with only his hair sticking out at the top.
Janus clicks his tongue and scratches at Patton's scalp. It's less effective with gloves on, but Patton allows the contact.
"Or do, I certainly won't judge you," Janus says flippantly.
Patton whines into the mattress, "That implies that someone is judging me."
"I didn't say that. Did I say that?"
"Janus!" Exasperrated, Patton tosses down his blankets enough to reveal his rumpled onsie and impressive bedhead. He stops when he sees what sits on the bedside table that wasn't there before.
"You never came down for breakfast this morning," Janus explains. "Not that I care or anything. There were just so many pancakes leftover that it would be a shame for them to go to waste."
Patton eyes the tray and the stack of syrupy pancakes. His lip wobbles a little. "You brought me breakfast in bed?"
"Don't get used to it."
Patton finds the will to smile and tucks into breakfast. It tastes freshly made and sweet.

so remember that gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss post i made about the dark sides? a lot of people said i should swap Janus and Remus because Janus fit the gaslighting part a lot more. and you know me, i love to overanalyze things so let me just talk about this.
yes, Janus is the liar. he is the embodiment of deceit. and with the usage of “gaslight” spreading on the internet, a lot of people don’t seem to know its exact meaning and they just misuse it. nowadays, the general consensus is that any type of lying is automatically gaslighting. your friend told you that she was at home when really she was out all night partying? gaslighting. the cashier at your local coffee shop told you that they don’t accept cash? gaslighting. some guy in the street looked at you? GASLIGHTING.
as a psych student, this trend is driving me crazy. gaslighting isn’t just lying. it’s the act of intentionally making another person question their reality or sanity.
gaslighting: psychological manipulation of a person usually over an extended period of time that causes the victim to question the validity of their own thoughts, perception of reality, or memories and typically leads to confusion, loss of confidence and self-esteem, and uncertainty of one's emotional or mental stability.
it is a form of manipulation that doesn’t necessarily involve lying. yes, in most cases, gaslighting involves lying or greatly exaggerating the truth. but even though lying is associated with gaslighting, they are not the same thing.
and in Thomas’ case specifically, Janus never makes Thomas question his own sanity. he makes Thomas question the morals he believes in and his idea of selflessness, and that was a good thing.
REMUS however. HOO BOY.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
in just ONE episode, Remus manages to make Thomas think that he is mentally unstable and capable of being a serial criminal. Virgil quite literally decides that Thomas is in complete control of his thoughts and is therefore mentally deranged and dangerous.
this was quite literally the entire plot of DWIT, the fact that Thomas begins questioning his sanity because of the intrusive thoughts that Remus put into his head. Remus keeps telling Thomas that his intrusive thoughts were an indicator of his morals and his sanity. i think it’s safe to say that Remus is indeed the gaslighter among all the sides.
of course, that’s only if you view the sides as individual characters and not parts of Thomas himself. practically speaking, you cannot gaslight yourself, even if social media says that you can. and at the end of the day, Remus does have a purpose as one of Thomas’ sides and i’m not making a statement on whether he’s good or evil.
i guess you could put it this way: Remus is the product of gaslighting.
in a way, at least. Thomas’ religious views fed him lies about actions being a precursor to thought, and that is what brought about this whole conflict.
so yeah, Remus is a better candidate for gaslighting than Janus is. i rest my case.

Thinking about the puppet episode and how freakin softly and gently Virgil tells Logan that it's ok to feel lost and scared, thinking about the episode in Patton's room with Logan & Virgil communicating purely with expressions to check on each other and convey distress, thinking about "Jeeze, L" and "pocket-protector" and "teach" and all the stupid nicknames Virgil gives him, thinking about Logan treating not just Virgil but all the dark sides like actual people (if not slightly inconvenient people) with valid opinions and thoughts to contribute instead of one dimensional cartoon villains, thinking about their debate so long ago and Logan genuinely complimenting his expression of his thoughts even though Virgil hissed at him and made yo mama jokes, thinking about Logan doing grounding exercises for Virgil & Thomas when they get really upset, thinking forever and ever about how close they've gotten to each other and the balance of Logic and Anxiety caring so much for each other

okay wait i am confused is virgil canon trans or no or open 2 interpretation ?
Honestly, that’s valid, I feel like the comments I made about it on stream were more confusing than I intended them to be 😅
I think, personally, I would consider it canon that Virgil is transmasc, yes.
It wasn’t the original intent with his character, and it’s not a big part of his character traits in any way, but personally, as the creator, yeah I think he is. He wasn’t created as a transmasc-character, but he is a character I think is transmasc, if that distinction makes sense? Regardless he’s certainly not cis, since he uses he/they pronouns.
I think in the moment, my hesitation in just saying “yes” stemmed from the fact that as a (somewhat) cis-presenting amab person, I didn’t want to just be slapping on the idea that he was trans after the fact as a “fun quirky character trait” because I was afraid it would come off disingenuous? But realistically, there is a lot of Virgil which is an extension of myself, and that exploration of gender presentation and identity through him is personally very genuine, and I think in hindsight I am more confident in saying yes, with the clarification that Virgil’s story is not about him being trans in any way, and isn’t particularly affected by it at all, but it is canon.

My Sander Sides Enlightment
You know what’s always kinda bothered me? Those mean takes on the other sides. Like ‘Janus is manipulating Patton and isn’t actually trying to be friends with him,’ ‘Patton has too much moral superiority,’ ‘Roman never learns,’ So on and so forth. There is something bad to say about all the sides. No hate to anyone who's made one, you are valid and probably right in your own way. I think the only reason they bother me so much is because you can easily say the opposite. The most common phrase being ‘Nobody listens to ____’
“Nobody listens to Patton! He was trying to show the others that Virgil was good all along and only when Virgil was gone did they listen.”
“Nobody listens to Logan! He gets ignored constantly and he’s getting mad because of it.”
“Nobody listens to Roman! Every time he comes up with a solution, he gets shut down only to get blamed for not coming up with a solution.”
“Nobody listens to Virgil! He only gets listened to when he forces Thomas to hear him, and he doesn’t like doing that.”
“Nobody listens to Janus! Even when he has good ideas and arguments, they get pushed to the side because he is a dark side.”
“Nobody listens to Remus! That was the entire point of an episode. And all he wants is to be listened to, it doesn’t matter who.”
And all of these are valid points. But at some point, you have to wonder who’s not listening the most. Which is how I think the criticism posts of the characters came to be in the first place. But I don’t think any of them are to blame. Even when this new side gets revealed, it won’t be his fault either. The fault isn’t on Roman, or Logan, or Janus, or any of them.
It's on Thomas.
And of course I don’t mean ‘Writer Thomas,’ I mean ‘Character Thomas.’ Throughout the series, Thomas has always held himself high. You can’t be perfect, but you can try to be. And every time a situation comes up, he doubts himself, wondering if he’s even any good at all.
And in comes the sides, telling him that he can’t be bad and here's why. In fact, Thomas won’t let himself be bad at anything. Can’t be a bad worker, can’t be a bad actor or singer, and certainly can’t be a bad friend. Even in situations where he wouldn’t even be those things, he can’t even let himself risk it.
And so, the sides follow suit.
Logan becomes the perfect person for knowledge and learning, never letting himself be anything less than right all the time.
Roman strives to be perfect physically and materialistically, coming up with creative ideas that help Thomas move up in the world or, at the very least, make himself feel better.
Patton is the perfectly moral person. Make sure everyone is alright, help whenever and wherever you can, and always keep a smile on. Wouldn’t want anyone worrying for you, right? That wouldn’t be good.
Virgil is the perfect alarm system. Even false alarms are taken with the utmost seriousness. Just as long as no one else knows your anxious.
Janus is a deceiver. And Thomas lies often. So he needs to be the best at putting on a face and making sure nothing goes off without a hitch. Wouldn’t want people catching him in a lie. He needs to be the perfect liar.
And then there's Remus. The only one who tries not to be perfect. But that idea terrifies the others so much, Remus is left to pick up all of the imperfection slack. Maybe that's why Remus was offended when he was called ‘Scary.’
Trying to be so many perfect things all at once, you’re going to but heads with all of the different aspects of yourself. You're going to not listen. You're going to ignore. And in some cases, your perfectionism is going to make you look like the bad guy. And as someone with perfectionism, I relate a little too hard.
Thank you for reading.

Ok here’s my personal rewrite on “the sides have a nice day” video
DISCLAIMER: if you infact like that video, that’s so real, so valid, good for you, I’m just here to change it a lil into something I think makes more sense/fits the characters better-
I think the premise is fine, but the execution is ehhhh- like look, I’ll keep the original spirit of the video and keep the big 3 inside it cause I know thomas likes them. So I’ll keep logicality then prinxiety then demus. Thumbs up? HWJAJSJ
I think the part of the video that probably needs the smallest tweaking is the first portion with Logan and Patton. It’s fine enough, Patton wanting to do something nice for Logan? Makes perfect sense, dude loves Logan. But the explanation as to why Patton is accidentally ruining Logan’s like- fun day experience? Is like, bro you’re SHJSJSS really running with innocent stupid doe eye’d Patton characterization rn huh?
Consider this instead, so instead of Patton was stupid “oh I didn’t realize the videos were just edited together! That’s why they went super fast!” Just say he was really excited to see Logan enjoying things, he got caught up in his excitement/feelings. Like to just say, oh he’s dumb and didn’t notice at all lol hurts- cause we know Patton is really emotionally intelligent and he would be able to notice at least after a while. So have Logan stop him, and Patton apologize and realize he just let his emotions cloud his goal of giving Logan a nice day. Ok good.
Next one. So, Virgil is giving Roman a good day, I get why- you know. You wanna push that new Roman and Virgil hating Janus friendship. But this whole section makes Virgil look like the biggest a**hole HEJAJSJ- like he’s making Roman uncomfortable or scared throughout it all and he doesn’t notice until the end where Roman basically self projects and is really sad HEJAJSJ I understand you wanted this to be an opportunity for Roman to feel better- or the comedy that is Roman reacting to Virgil sucking at being… a good friend- but consider this!
Roman sees that Patton gave Logan a good day and Roman’s like, he needs something to cheer him up, get his mind off being a downer of a prince. So he’s gonna one up Patton and give virgil a good day! Virgil! The dude who’s like doom and gloom! But if you still wanna have that comedy of something going wrong. Instead of it to where virgil is giving Roman choices he thinks he may likes but then turns out it’s just stuff virgil enjoys- have it be Roman giving stuff he enjoys and thinking “well if I like it, it’s great, so virgil will like it too!” But instead it twists into something virgil likes!
Follow me here, for example. Roman gives Virgil the option of sharing adventure stories, something he enjoys. But Virgil ends up telling Roman a spooky story which freaks Roman out and Roman’s like well that failed! It didn’t go according to my plan! And he keeps offering choices he would like, but virgil twists it into something he would enjoy or it just ends up like that.
And by the end Roman feels awful, he thinks it must have sucked and wants to apologize to Virgil. But Virgil’s like no dude I had an absolutely great day you’re a really good friend, you knew exactly what I like! So that way you get the sweet moment at the end but also the comedy of Roman reacting to things going poorly inbetween. I think it as well just makes more sense for Roman to do that initiative and go for something like this.
Ok so, this last one… it still hurts me so badly to hear Janus say “I’ve convinced Thomas to lean into his intrusive thoughts today” GOD IT HURTS SO BADLYYYY like not only is that such a misrepresentation of what intrusive thoughts are supposed to be, they’re not silly tik tok impulsive thoughts I’m gonna- ok I’m getting off topic.
I’m gonna be real this section is going to be very biased because I don’t like Janus and Remus being close besties, I’m admitting that here so you already know what we are getting into. I just don’t think self preservation, someone trying to keep Thomas at the top and in good health would be like HELL YEAH THOMAS DANGLE YOUR PHONE OFF A BRIDGE GO BANG UP A CAR GO TO JAIL FOR ALL I CARE! But anyways.
The whole joke at the end is, wow Patton and Virgil kinda suck at doing this but I Janus can give that little freak a good day so easily!
Here’s my pitch, have Remus at the end pop up to say, this video has gotten too mushy and feelingy and all that sh-t I’m gonna give Janus a bad day because why not! Seeing him in misery is fun!
And then just have short sections of Janus outsmarting Remus everytime he tries to give him a bad choice, Janus ends up flipping it somehow to something he would enjoy. Kinda like WTIT where Remus is like OH NO YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO OPEN THE DOOR! Then he gets stabbed because he’s stupid. I think this just personally makes more sense to me, then like- yes Janus would probably wanna show up the others but I can’t see him leaning into intrusive thoughts. But as I said, I’m biased.
So yeah there’s my rewrite of that video this was long but yeah :3 if you didn’t like this rewrite and/or prefer the original you’re so valid! Anything here is just my opinion and obviously isn’t the actual best approach.

The Orange Side is going to represent Impulsiveness and the rest of y'all are wrong: a thread
For obvious reasons the title of this post is a joke. But anyway, hi hello. I wanted to talk about my theory of what I think the Orange Side is gonna be! Now this post is going to be looong so for the sake of everyone it's going to be put under the cut.
Disclaimers that I want to get out of the way now: I have just recently re-entered the fandom and I haven't been into Sanders Sides in years. I'm not a Patreon supporter nor do I have Twitter so I lack any information that may have been revealed there. Also I am still in the process of rewatching the series. So as of now, I don't really have a complete understanding of the series. I apologize if I get anything wrong, and if any of this puts you off, totally valid.
Oh also, general spoilers for like, anything Sanders Sides related but specifically Working Through Intrusive Thoughts (if you still somehow have not watched it). Honestly I recommend watching it before reading this as a refresher, because most of this theory is based around/supported by that video. It's like, really the only foundation for this theory as I don't really delve much into the other episodes.
First things first, I am going to lay down some rules on what the Orange Side could represent:
1) The concept needs to in some way be the "opposite" of logic. Realistically this doesn't have to be the case in the series, but based on how the other Dark Sides function, it makes the most sense for now.
2) The concept needs to be generally considered negative for them to be considered a Dark Side.
3) Whatever they represent needs to REALISTICALLY make sense as an aspect of C! Thomas' identity. I think a lot of people forget that the Sides are that, Sides of a whole person. So I tried my best to make that work.
Now, with that out of the way,,,I'm going to "debunk" some theories first. Yes sorry there is a lot of set up to this theory, but I feel like it's important. Also, reminder, if you believe in either of the theories I am going to debunk, that is TOTALLY 100% VALID! I'm just going to discuss why I don't think they work, so this is all just my opinion!
Theory 1: The Orange Side represents Rage
I'm pretty sure this is the most popular theory right now, and I know a lot of people also disagree with it. I think this one mostly came about because our only real evidence of the Orange Side is through Logan's anger fueled outbursts in WTIT and Learning New Things About Ourselves. While I definitely understand this line of thinking, I don't think it's right.
First and foremost, it breaks the third rule set up earlier. Again, all these characters are facets of Thomas' personality. And from what we've seen of him, it just doesn't make sense with his personality. Now, again, this could obviously be different in the series, we could learn that this is actually his rage and he's just been repressing it, but I doubt that'll be the case. (Also I feel like this could break the first rule but I don't know how to explain why).
Secondly, and I just think that rage in and of itself is just, way too specific of a concept to be represented by a side. This kinda works in tandem with the first point, since again, it just doesn't seem that large of an aspect of Thomas that it would be represented by its own side. As well, all the other sides represent either much larger concepts or multiple at a time. For instance, Logan, Patton, and Roman represent logic, morality, and (good) creativity respectively. While Virgil and Janus do represent anxiety and deceit, those titles are rather reductive, as they also represent vigilance and self-preservation respectively. (Really I think we need to talk more about the fact that Janus is canonically Thomas' self-preservation but is really only viewed as "deceit"). Remus is a fun case as although he is viewed as "intrusive thoughts", he as a whole represents the bad side of creativity. TLDR: Rage is too specific a concept to be its own side.
Theory 2: The Orange Side Represents Emotion
Okay I'm going to be honest, I've only seen one person on here with this theory (and for the life of me I can't remember their name). But I just want to say that if you are reading this, this isn't me calling you out or anything (honestly I really agreed with your theory until I came up with this one). If I remember correctly, this theory is more built on the Orange Side being an opposite to logic, and how emotions tend to cloud logic, similar to the reasoning for rage.
I think this theory most obviously breaks rule 2. Now emotions as a whole do have the capacity to be bad, I think the concept of just emotion is not generally considered bad. Definitely not enough for it to be considered along with the Dark Sides. It's simply too big of a concept to be either "good" or "bad".
On that subject, I think this theory has a similar issue to the rage theory, but in the opposite direction. While rage was too specific, emotions are waaay too broad to just be one singular side. Especially given that all of the current sides have some sway over Thomas' emotions. And it's also possible that this side would be considered too close to Patton. While yes, it is not explicitly stated that he is in charge of Thomas' emotions, he definitely has the most sway over them. Ultimately, I think this theory is just too vague to work.
Okay, now with that all out of the way, let's get into my actual theory. So,
Why do I think the Orange Side will represent Impulsiveness?
I'm going to start this off by comparing my claims to the rules I made up. Because tbh, that's how I came to the conclusion in the first place before I started finding evidence to support it (but isn't that how all good hypotheses work?)
1) Does impulsiveness act as a counter to logic?
According to Merriam-Webster's dictionary, Impulsive is defined as "prone to sudden illogical changes of mind, ideas, or actions". Now I was gonna go on a big explanation of how they are opposites but it literally says illogical in the definition. So uh, yayy 🎉🎉🎉
2) Is impulsiveness seen as a negative thing?
Now, truthfully there is no way for me to prove that impulsiveness is either "good" or "bad". That being said, I feel like a lot of people generally view impulsiveness as a bad thing. While in small amounts it can be seen as good and fun, the more frequently you engage in impulsive behaviors, the more destructive it can become. Often leading to bad decision making, i.e. avoiding work, making big financial decisions without much thought, and generally just doing what you want over what may be important.
3) Does this fit within Thomas' personality?
Yes. It has been shown time and time again that Thomas has an issue with his impulsive behaviors. Oftentimes manifesting in him avoiding chores and general self-care in favor of doing something easy or entertaining. The most clear example of this being the video "Growing Up." While yes, most of these decisions are made due to Patton, it's not entirely uncommon for the sides to be affected or swayed by the others. (Also if I'm being honest, I don't think it entirely fair to analyze the earlier episodes with the same critical lens as the later ones, it's definitely not fair to Thomas (the real Thomas) to criticize the early episodes for not perfectly aligning with later lore).
Now, finally, we can get into some evidence to support all these claims I'm making. First things first, as of right now Logan and the Orange Side are one in the same. We haven't been given any proof that they are at least physically different beings (unless you want to count the orange eyes in the Sanders Sides anime intro parody). So all of our evidence is just Logan acting really out of character. So, where does Logan act impulsively?
Our first major incident of this (I'm pretty sure) is in the episode "Learning New Things About Ourselves", specifically the scene where Roman essentially pisses him off so much that he throw's a crumpled up note card at him. Most important is his reaction afterwards, being shocked at himself.
Tumblr media
He was basically pushed so far that he reacted without thinking (impulsively some may say? ok I'll stop, I'm sorry). Which, obviously, is EXTREMELY out of character for him. He is logic, he is supposed to think first before he acts, go through possible scenarios and decide the most favorable outcome. Yet, here he loses all control.
Our next example is less of Logan acting impulsive and more so how I believe his actions are affecting Thomas. In the episode "Working Through Intrusive Thoughts", Thomas basically spends the whole time being tormented by Remus because he can't keep his mind off of the risky text he sent Nico (I'm aroace but I'm gonna assume valid? So real?). While Logan is simultaneously trying to keep Thomas on schedule, accommodate his struggles, and accommodate Remus' actions as part of Thomas' identity. Basically, it's a lot, and when he's finally at his limit, well

Yeahhhh, a certain something makes itself known. And while Logan doesn't act particularly irrationally or impulsively in this moment (literally all he does is yell at Remus), it is what Thomas does after this outbreak that I find interesting. As immediately afterward he gets a call from Nico, inviting him out. And given the choice between what he has planned to do and needs to get done for the day, vs spending the day with Nico?

He decides suddenly to just drop everything he is doing for Nico. A rather impulsive decision if you ask me. And while yes, technically none of what Thomas was doing needed to get done that day (it was mostly chores), it was part of a plan and he promised himself to stick to it. Logan doesn't react well to any of this, both his own outburst and Thomas deciding to just leave him behind like it's nothing. And I don't think it's gonna spell anything good in the future for Logan and the rest of the gang.
So, where does that leave us now?
Well, moving a bit on to what I think is going to happen next. Obviously things are going to get worse before they get better. Logan will fall more and more into impulsive behaviors, which will only become more destructive for Thomas. As well, I think (hope, pray) that there will be some sort of team up between Logan and Remus. They're the only sides who I think could "properly" get along (I know that Janus and Remus have some sort of friendship, but it can only work so well as Janus being self-preservation can only really run counter to Remus' intrusive thoughts). Most likely they will feed into each other in a horrible cycle of "I can make him worse." I don't think that would be either of their genuine intentions, as I don't like labeling the Dark Sides and "bad", but I definitely don't think they would be good for each other. I do also think this will come about because Remus either knows or understands something about Logan that the others don't, not even Janus. As well I do hope that Logan and the Orange Side are one in the same somehow, and not just Logan being influenced.
Anyway, sorry for the insanely long post and sorry if it started to devolve towards the end. I am quite literally writing this on no hours of sleep, so give me a bit of grace. Also, another sorry if I have gotten anything wrong or if I have missed something. It has been very long since I've engaged with Sanders Sides, but I'm trying my best. Anyway, thank you for coming to my ted-talk, I hope Logan gets to commit murder in the next episode.
