He will walk the earth in a partial true form with one of his vultures and his two raven Umberto and Valentino (the black and the white) soaring around.  Caim likes to have his whole family do this to expose their presence to the world doing demon things. 

HC: Jules 

Then there is Jules. As much as Jules loves to demon out and have a demon of a good time He has issues with following along. Everyone’s exposing their Hellbird side this year? Oh. Okay. Guess I’ll do something else. He’s not one for doing whatever’s trending. Sorry Caim, Julian dresses up as a wolfman. It’s his chance to be all theatrical for the night. It was going to happen. 

These two fine demon folks will pop in two visit their New Zealand kiwi Laveau friends. Infernal pals popping in on All Hallow’s Eve. Fun Fun. New traditions all around. They’ll get to meet the new sled team and anyone else who happens to be there. The dogs will go wild with all the feathers that end up floating around between the vulture and the ravens.

And who else will be there is who is everywhere and many places at once. This isn’t a demon, but an angel, a reaper, the only angel Caim still considers a brother since he also has been kicked from the heavens before despite being welcomed back. He tries not to hold it against Samael, still missing some wings from his back from the incident. Since Samael won’t hold the grudge against God Caim holds it for him. Death will become a guest in the Laveau home. They ended up leaving the dinner before a little early at Caim’s and never got to really talk about the Belleroses to him. They spent more time out in Venice instead of mingling. Now they’ll get their chance. So, the Belleroses might just get a surprise guest this Halloween too. 

Also, just for fun, the fact he’s Aragorn FC, and we’ve made our muses LOTR obsessed, and technically angels don’t have these human forms, might just be a little funny to think he paints his human avatar to be similar to Aragorn because he’s so damn cool. Like that’s how he manifests when the Laveaus see him. He’s supposed to be like an outdoorsy hunter type all masculine as he rules Mars so it all fits with the Strider look haha. But going full Aragorn on the nose just for shits and giggles as his manifestation while around them, like it’s a thing, yeah, I think that should be a thing. Valerie’s gonna be double taking and looking back and forth at Thomas like... wait... what? Normally you can’t see his face as a reaper. It’s fire or skull. But when he humans out... boom... Aragorn? Now they have Aragorn walking all hooded and cloaked on their land like what the fuck is happening in their life right now? Valerie doesn’t know but she’s so down with it. Samael does this to amuse them without ever saying anything about it. It’s his own sense of humor with the humans. Yes.

blue  gaze  falls  to  the  ground  as  she’s  consumed  with  guilt  over  not  thinking  of  her  mother  more.  but…  it  hurts  to  think  of  her.  by  the  end  of  her  life,  she  was  so  sick  and  not  at  all  like  the  loving  mother  who’d  raised  fleur  and  braided  flowers  into  her  hair.  that  was  when  fleur  met  viviana.  she’d  heard  of  her  impossible  abilities,  and  sought  her  out  to  heal  her  mother.  but  she  died  before  viviana  could  get  to  them.  once  she  arrived  to  find  fleur  sobbing,  holding  onto  her  mother’s  body,  she  offered  her  an  escape  from  her  grief.  thus,  fleur  became  a  vampire.  next  came  the  dark  years. 

fleur  doesn’t  think  of  the  dark  years,  either.  but  for  different  reasons.

she  pushes  it  from  her  mind  now  as  she  beams  up  at  val.     ❛   you  make  me  feel  like  you  do  when  you’ve  just  spun  round  and  round  really  fast  and  you  fall  on  the  ground  and  the  world  is  spinning.  you  make  my  world  spin,  mon  chéri.   ❜     and  it  is  the  best  thing  she’s  ever  felt  in  her  life.

The North Star Hotel

The North Star Hotel occupies the open space next to Embraced.

EXTERIOR

In the vacant lot beside Embraced, construction had been underway. The exterior and landscaping had been taken care of first, followed by the interior.

The outside is a brick hotel blending in with the rest of the buildings nearby except for the sign that boldly proclaims itself as the "North Star Hotel." One notable thing is that there are no windows at all on this building, preventing anyone from peering in at any level, or most likely as intended, light cannot enter. The landscaping is minimal, a great deal of the plot of land taken up by the building and parking lot. Shrubbery and a few hardy but pretty plants ring the building and outline the plot, with a few lot lamps interspersed throughout the parking lot with sections of curb made of gravel and greenery.

INTERIOR

Entering through the lobby doors (wooden, not glass), patrons are greeted with the scent of freshness, and of the calming aromas of white tea, sandalwood, and jasmine. To the left is the lobby desk, typically manned by two front desk workers at all times, along with a front desk manager.

The Blue Eyes Lounge

To the right is an open archway that leads into a lobby bar. This bar is manned by up to three tenders as needed and serves a variety of blood liquors and other blood infused drinks for Kindred to partake in at any time of the night/day.

The other half of the bar turns into a sitting area with piano included. A pianist is available nightly and takes crowd requests, or Kindred can play the piano themselves when the pianist is on break or by request.

The Rooms

Straight ahead from the front doors is both circling stairwell and row of elevators to go up to the other floors. Each hallway is designed similar to the lobby and bar area, with patterned ceiling, chandeliers, comfortable chairs and blue and red carpeting. Each of the rooms on the five levels are styled almost exactly the same, but feature different artwork purchased from Liliana Rousseau, or curated from the Galleria d'Arte on loan. The most notable thing about the rooms is that as noticeable from the outside of the building, they have no windows. In replacement of windows, they each feature a large screen on the outward facing wall, where scenery can be selected, or used as TV.

The Rules of the North Star Hotel

While it is located within the Red Light District, claimed by Valentino Darling, the hotel and property is to be considered neutral ground. Business that cannot be conducted in territories of others may be conducted here when neutral meeting grounds are required.

No hostile actions may be taken on hotel property and grounds.

Loss of control or Frenzying is grounds for immediate removal and excommunication from premises.

Any agreement, contract, or oath reached on hotel property and grounds is considered binding and must be completed.

There are no wards (aside from structural wards meant to keep the building from falling down during a Hellifyno apocalypse), so these rules are considered formalities and good manners. Lack of adherence to these rules is grounds for suitable penalty as decided by first: General Manager, second: Concierge, third: Owner.

A Wyrd Disturbance

The Scarlet Mirror Freehold was established 10 years ago by a Changeling known as Evensong, The Frost Queen when in Winter. Little is known of her or her fellow monarchs, but the Freehold has been a silent sentinel in the Red Light District, albeit a flourishing and busy ecosystem in its own right. 

Until now, that is.

We were unable to reach the recently recrowned Frost Queen for comment, but the recent influx of missing person’s reports at the Marshall and New Order offices are highly disconcerting. This, coupled with the uptick in Changeling deaths have caused the Wyrd blessed community to batten down the hatches, it seems.

Investigators had little to say as it is still in the beginning stages, but one did comment that they are exploring the possibility of a connection with Fairy Dust. This drug is a fresh addition to the Changeling scene with a big impact. It is slowly permeating in other circles, most prominently Vampires as it seems to affect them and Changelings the most. Fairy Dust comes in two forms: a flaky powder that can be sprinkled into the eyes, or a rock candy like form that can be ingested via the mouth.

In other Changeling news, Vampires have been seen in increasing Frenzies, attacking most anything in sight all over the city; though the death toll for Changelings are numbering higher than other species. Most recently, there was an attack in the Northern Slums, though most notably Vaughn Bellerose had rampaged in the streets of the Red Light District. He fled from Embraced Nightclub when several members of the Consequence community stepped in to stop him. Valentino Bellerose, owner of Embraced said, “Embraced is incredibly important to me and Vaughn was a cherished guest who visited often with his girlfriend, Willow. So it was surprising to see him attacking. But he may have gotten news of Willow’s passing, so it is difficult to judge him. I merely hope that he is found and helped before he hurts anyone else.”
