Valentine's Day morning 2023 in the Granger-Weasley household

It was still dark outside when Hermione’s alarm went off at its usual time of five o’clock. After switching it off, she stretched and rolled over, only to find the other side of the bed empty. 

She sat up on her elbows. Ron wasn’t an early riser by any means, and normally he was groaning at her to turn the alarm off so he could go back to sleep. Her confusion was cleared up when he backed through the door, wearing only a pair of heart-covered boxer shorts and carrying a tray piled up with two mugs of steaming tea and a plate of toast. 

‘Breakfast in bed?’ she asked when he turned, eyes sweeping appreciatively over him. 

Ron grinned, ‘That’s the idea,’ he said, and carefully placed the tray over her legs before kissing her softly. 

‘Happy Valentine’s Day,’ he murmured. Hermione’s hand found the back of his neck and held him in place so she could kiss him properly.

‘Happy Valentine’s Day,’ her voice was breathless when they parted which just made her husband grin wider. Her fingers drifted to his boxers, running along the waistband, 'these are new.'

'Your first present of the day.' Ron said as he settled next to her in the bed. They discussed the usual things as they ate their breakfast, their plans for the day and Rosie’s latest letter from Hogwarts.

‘She’s going to move out with that horrid boy when she finishes school, Hermione,’ 

‘I thought you liked him. He’s a sweetheart, and he’s Lee’s son!’ 

That didn’t seem to appease him, ‘Better than a Malfoy, I suppose,’ he grumbled while Hermione rolled her eyes fondly at him.

With breakfast done, it was time to ready for the day. Hermione took her time to get dressed, timing it just right, so that when Ron came out of the bathroom, he saw her in the bra and pants that she knew he loved her in. Predictably, his hands found her waist easily, pulling her back against him while his lips dropped to her neck.

‘Merlin, ‘Mione,’ he groaned. Their eyes met in the mirror while his hands trailed along her skin. She smiled coyly.

‘Something you like?��

Rom huffed a laugh, one hand cupping her breast, his thumb brushing across it's peak in a way that made her sigh softly. His voice was low when he murmured in her ear. ‘Skive off work. I’ll take you back to bed and show you how much I like it.’

It was tempting. He always tempted her. But Hermione drew on every ounce of willpower she had and stepped out of his embrace, turning to press her hand against his chest when he tried to follow her. ‘I’m the Minister of Magic. I can’t take off work, even if it is Valentine’s Day.’

‘I bet Kingsley used to skive off all the time. And Fudge! No way Fudge didn’t skive off for a quickie.’

A laugh bubbled out of her while she pulled her robes on and Ron frowned as she covered up. ‘As much as I would enjoy staying here and discussing my predecessor's sex lives with you, I have to go to work.’

She had a meeting with representatives from the US Ministry, Harry’s monthly review, and a budget meeting. And that was all before lunchtime. She couldn’t skip work, no matter how good her husband looked in his robes, or how much she wanted to tear them off him and drag him back to bed.

And Merlin she wanted to drag him back to bed.

Instead, she reminded herself that wizarding society had voted for her, and finished getting ready to go to work while Ron made the bed.

Once they were downstairs, Hermione was checking her bag to make sure she’d put in the file she’d brought home the night before when she spoke without looking up.

‘Tonight you can show me exactly how much you appreciate my knickers.’ 

She didn’t look at him until she was about to step into the floo. His gaze was intense as he watched her, his clear blue eyes holding her in place. ‘It’s not the knickers I appreciate. It’s the woman in them.’

Even after all these years, when he said things like that it still took her breath away. She stepped towards him, pressing a long lingering kiss to his lips and seriously considered skiving off work. But she managed to step away, back towards the fireplace. ‘See you tonight.’ 

His hand lingered at her waist, his eyes never leaving hers. ‘Can’t wait.’

Called it: Favorlentine’s Day (Words of Favorite and Valentine's Day)! 

It’s Valentine’s Day for most favorite characters in any cartoon and game for two days each show!
