The Vail International Dance Festival, under the Artistic Directorship of Arts luminary Damian Woetzel, always assembles a collection of the bests-in-their-fields & blends them into a two-week gourmet feast of dance! HUGE S/O to Damian and the Festival Staff for live streaming rehearsals this year & Buck & Ron for live streaming backstage! He’s the new Hot Boy - fa real tho! OG Genius Missy Elliot chose frequent collaborator Ron Myles for the “Hot Boyz” solo spot in her first live American performance since 2008. But this is just the tip of a jaw-dropping pile of recent top-tier accomplishments for the perfectly-monikered Jookin master ”Prime Tyme.” IN THE PAST 30 DAYS ALONE, he’s shared the stage with superstars from Rae Sremmurd to Chris Brown, from Chief Keef (spittin flow as his opening act) to Tony-award winning stage and screen actor Bill Irwin, and of course, from the Queen of Rap/R&B Missy Elliot to the Queen of the Ballet Stage Misty Copeland. (And his other “side gig” of modeling is starting to gain steam as well.) Some talents burst loud and fast onto the public consciousness, others take a slower, steady path upwards, sometimes in shadow and then quietly emerge on a peak. Watching everything I knew was in Ron from day one emerging into full public view in this season is the dopest kind of inspirational experience. His journey has been soul-nourishing to observe. And don’t think I’m gonna take my eyes off him now that millions of others eyes have joined the hot boy gazeathon, hahaha. No way i’m gonna miss his next moves. When we started our Instagram we decided that since so much of our own work happens under the radar, away from public view by necessity, we would also devote our account to throwing shine on some of our favorite performers we’ve come across in our journey. We got word that the surgery went as smoothly as P’s glides and he’s on his way to a quick recovery. Lil P, minus one appendix, is wheeled through the corridors of Vail Valley Medical Center by big bro/low-key mentor Ron Myles…leaving smiles in their wake (as is their habit.)
