Carcar accidental baby acquisition where Carlos ends up taking in a baby and Oscar is the one to help him out

Okay so this trope can be really hard for me because for the life of me I don’t know how they get that baby but I’m doing this for you!! Sorry it’s actually about a toddler not a baby

Okay so Lando is hosting a big family event not related to F1, maybe his wedding (you can pick your own adventure on this one) Some F1 people are there including Oscar and Carlos but it’s a big group of people. Oscar and Carlos make some small talk at a couple of points but really they’re just mingling and enjoying the afternoon.

The children in lando’s family l o v e Carlos sooo much. He’s just the ideal of what a cool race car driver should be (as opposed to Lando who is just uncle Lando who likes to play video games and play golf with the adults, sorry Lando), but even better than that he’s FUN and he plays GAMES with them and he brings his DOG!! He’s been around enough over the years that the kids are devoted to him and obviously he loves being loved and he loves family

So plot plot plot, dialogue dialogue dialogue, Oscar is chatting with Lando and Carlos is near them getting a toddler game of footie going. Of course all the moms (and some of the dads) are all gooey-eyed about how good carlos is with the kids. Truly my own ovaries are screaming as I write this

And Oscar is seeing this and internally rolling his eyes because ohhh yes isn’t Carlos just the greatest, he’s so perfect with his hair and his driving like an asshole and his sexy voice - He hears enough about that at work, and now that they’ve been running into each other on the track all of his interviews mention Carlos too. But, he thinks, whatever, I’m here to support Lando in this unspecified special event

But then!!! The few security guys Lando hired are telling everyone to get inside because apparently there’s INTRUDERS who broke in that want to cause people harm!!! (Idk man)

So in the shuffle and the chaos one of the little kids attaches herself to Carlos and won’t let go!! Because her parents always told her to stay with trustworthy adults and she trusts Carlos!! He let her play footie even though she’s younger than the other kids!!

And someone the two of them end up with Oscar smushed into a small bathroom. And they’re trying to be quiet but the little girl is scared!! And Carlos sees that and he brushes her hair off her face and hushes her. It can be like a game!! He tells her. We’ll play with Oscar. I have to hide and you have to find me! The little girl’s sniffling stops and she looks up at them. Carlos looks at Oscar like back me up here man.

What’s Oscar gonna do but go along?? So he shows her how to cover her eyes with her hands and they count to 5 very slowly together so Carlos can “hide.” When they open their eyes the little girl immediately starts giggling because look Os-cah!!! Mr. Carlos is right there!! He’s hiding behind the shower curtain!!

And Oscar and Carlos make such a big deal about her winning and they tell her how smart she is. But now the game is over and they still haven’t gotten the ok to leave. So, Oscar says it’s his turn to hide, and while Carlos and the little girl count, he crouches behind Carlos’s broad back. He’s eye level with the hair just curling down Carlos’s muscular neck.

Before he knows it the 5 seconds are up and the little one is looking for him. Carlos looks at her very seriously, points behind himself, and winks. Then he turns and dives onto Oscar, wrapping his arms around Oscar’s torso and pulling him around so the girl can see him. And as Oscar feels Carlos’s big hands holding him, he’s like. Woah. Okay. Maybe Carlos is that great

And then the little girl hides and both guys pretend they can’t find her until they get the okay to go back outside. And they bring the girl back to her parents and she immediately informs them that Mr Carlos and Mr os-cah are her new best friends forever and they all need to have a playdate right now. Oscar is looking over at Carlos and thinking, yeah, maybe the two of us do need to have a playdate

My Love Letter to Dunk and Egg

From the very first moment I encountered the tales of Dunk and Egg, I felt an immediate connection, as if the narrative was a reflection of my own life’s journey. In a series where brotherhood is seen everywhere and used in many ways, i find it poetic that the best representation of brotherhood is between and a low born knight and outcasted prince.

Dunk’s story starts with him standing over the grave of his mentor, Ser Arlan of Pennytree, the only father figure he ever had. In a way, I’ve been in Dunk’s shoes, finding myself alone and trying to make something of myself without much guidance. Dunk decides to carry on Ser Arlan’s legacy, living by the values of a true knight despite his humble beginnings.

As Dunk travels and faces countless challenges, he meets Egg, a young boy who becomes his squire. Dunk doesn’t know that Egg is actually Aegon Targaryen, a prince. This twist is profound because Dunk finds in Egg not just a helper, but a brother. Their relationship, built on mutual respect and loyalty, is the heart of their adventures and the heart of the narrative.

In my own life, I found my “Egg” too—a friend who turned into family. This person, like Egg, showed up unexpectedly and became a rock for me. Together, we’ve faced life’s storms, tackling challenges that seemed impossible. I miss him everyday and this post is as much about him as it is about a series I hold dear to my heart.

I can attest to this claim I will put forth: With such a deep bond comes an equally deep fear—the fear of losing each other. For Dunk, the thought of losing Egg was unbearable. Egg wasn’t just his squire; he was the little brother he never had, the family he always longed for. Every time they faced danger, Dunk’s heart ached with the fear that something might happen to Egg. The world they lived in was treacherous, filled with wars, treachery, and unforeseen threats. The stakes were always high, and the risks were real.

I tell you right now that pain, it's unbearable. That lost of a brother, of that companion you see as family. There were moments when Dunk’s fear for Egg’s safety overshadowed everything else. The idea of failing to protect him, of seeing harm come to the one person who meant the world to him, was a constant, gnawing worry. I must envy this, cause Dunk would no matter what, always found a way to save his brother. Dunk knew that losing Egg would shatter him. It would be like losing a part of himself, a part he could never replace.

Egg, on the other hand, had his own fears. Despite his royal blood and the destiny that awaited him, Egg feared losing Dunk, the one person who saw him for who he truly was—not just a prince, but a boy seeking his place in the world. Dunk’s straightforward honesty and genuine care were a sanctuary for Egg. The thought of Dunk not being there, of facing the world without his brother by his side, was a fear that lurked in the back of his mind.

Their brotherhood was their greatest strength and their greatest vulnerability. It made them brave, but it also made them vulnerable to the deepest kind of pain—the pain of loss. Yet, it was this very fear that made their bond all the more precious. It reminded them of the value of what they had, of how rare and beautiful true brotherhood is.

This art above by Hazem Ameen is truly an expression of what the story is about, to lift others up, especially your brothers. When Dunk kneels before Egg, now King Aegon V Targaryen, and is appointed the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, it’s an emotional moment. It’s the culmination of their journey, the fulfillment of their shared dreams. In my own life, I’ve had moments of triumph that felt just as significant, where the support and love of my closest friend made all the difference.

Dunk’s life before meeting Egg was one of solitude and struggle. He had no family, no true friends, only the dream of becoming a knight like his mentor, Ser Arlan. When Egg came into his life, everything changed. Egg wasn’t just a squire; he was a companion, a confidant, and soon, a brother. In the end, the story of Dunk and Egg is a testament to the power of friendship and the courage it takes to care deeply for someone. Their brotherhood taught me that true companionship is worth every risk and that the fear of loss is a part of loving someone deeply. Dunk and Egg’s journey is a poignant reminder that while the fear of losing a brother can be overwhelming, the strength gained from such a bond is what makes life truly meaningful.

Eden’s Notes: This is probably my favorite Soulmate fic i’ve ever read just based on the fact that the world it takes place in is very thought out and realistic for a soulmate au (it just makes sense the way things play out). The writing is quite beautiful and paints a good picture of the anxieties that the characters face when coming in contact with each other and their world in the AU. Highly recommend this fic!

Evelyn Hope Harper was born to a nurturing and supportive family. The only child to Erin and Anthony Harper - their pride and joy. It was a typical start with occasional disagreements, parents volunteering for school trips, last minute outings to parks, libraries, beaches, and vacations all around the west coast. Evelyn’s mother, Erin was a receptionist for the local dentist office with welcome all with the kind of smile that could allow the most pessimist an opportunity to smile. Erin was a warm hug through and through whereas Evelyn’s father, Anthony, was a marshmallow wrapped around sand paper. Anthony was a truck driver who would have to leave his family for long periods of time, always returning back to where he belonged. Anthony participated in as much as Evelyn’s life as his job allowed. He was the most vulnerable when it came to his daughter and the relationship they shared. Evelyn spent a significant amount of time with her father growing up, learning a variety of skills from how to play various instruments, how to start a camp fire, ice skating, how to unlock a locked car, and practicing situational awareness. Evelyn had scored the ultimate gift of a cohesive family unit. 

Evelyn was the type of child who wanted to explore the world’s greatest treasures - a true adventurer. If there was something that sparked her interest, she was going to give it a go. Evelyn loved to learn and treated the world with kindness. Her spirit had radiated a vibrant yellow, thanks to the environment that she grew up in. However, it wasn’t always peachy keen. At times there were days that had been filled with sadness, mistakes that were made and hard to forgive, and apologies that needed to be given. The world was a place with so much darkness to where Erin and Anthony made sure that Evelyn minimally had to experience those instances. While Anthony and Erin were great parents, they hadn’t always been so as partners to one another. Evelyn’s parents had decided that through all the rough waters that had faced together, they were going to put in the work, go to counseling, keep their little family together. 

Little did she know that her world was about to get smaller a short few months after her tenth birthday. Despite all medical interventions, Anthony had passed away due to injuries that he sustained during a fatal car accident. Anthony was on his way to a school concert for Evelyn after work and never made it there. Her father had anticipated in surprising Evelyn with a new guitar and Erin, a vow renewal ceremony. There was nothing that felt more catastrophic to the Harper women than the loss of Anthony. Their loss brought them closer together for a period of time and they were the anchor for the other. Although life was hard, they had the support of family and friends to lift their spirits. 

After three years, Erin had begun her own spiral of grief with limited availability to care for Evelyn. It had felt like a lifetime already without Anthony. Being the only parent, Erin had begun to feel the weight of how difficult raising a child was alongside all other life’s expectations. Evelyn moved around after school to various relatives and family friends because Erin had to “stay late at work” or some other rationale, which in reality,  she was driving to bars around town and finding her own way to silence the suffering. Evelyn watched her mother from afar fade away into a person that she no longer recognized. She starting showing up late to school events, was calling out of work in the middle of the week, and spending less time creating home-cooked meals. As a child, Evelyn was rather naive into the understanding of what was happening with her mother. 

Evelyn had her own struggles - grieving the loss of her father while also experiencing the distant of her mother. Evelyn couldn’t put her finger on why but started to wonder if there was something she had done to cause the change in the relationship. When confronting her mother about these feelings, Evelyn noticed how cold, withdrawn, and angry her mother had become towards her: she was a reminder of her husband.  Evelyn had a practice that was cancelled last minute and she went home on the bus that afternoon. During that afternoon home alone, Evelyn was going to surprise her mother with a home-cooked meal that a thirteen year old could do on her own. In the midst of looking for supplies, Evelyn had stubbled upon Erin’s drug paraphenlia.  When discussing this with another adults in her life, they had realized that the Harper residence was no longer a safe environment for her. This allowed for an intervention that Evelyn’s mother desperately needed. Erin went to receive support for her substance use, in addition to her mental health in order to be able to take care of her daughter again. It was a long road, but after two years between inpatient and outpatient treatment, she would gain her rights again. There were a couple of solid years where her mother stayed on the right path, and things seemed as if they were going to be better for the both of them. Evelyn’s mother ended up with a relapse when she was seventeen years old. Evelyn stayed with an aunt, finished out the rest of high school and decided to move to the east coast. 

Evelyn was trying to figure out what she wanted to do with her life and what her life was going to look like moving forward. Keeping it light, Evelyn got herself a job on the boardwalk selling typical tourist merchandise. While working her first summer in the new city, Evelyn met a man that instantly had her at hello. She got herself into a relationship that ended up being toxic, emotional, and controlling. She had been craving the ability to give and receive love that she had been blind for some time about what it looked like to have a healthy relationship. This relationship last for two years and so did the job at the boardwalk. Evelyn eventually found herself in a variety of working environments while living on her own and establishing her social network and other hobbies. Some of these places include: restaurants, ski resorts, record shops, animal shelters, coffee shops, arcades, bookstores, etc. She learned so many skills that Evelyn was able to connect with a wide range of individuals. Evelyn was the woman that nearly everyone could get along with. She was outgoing, adventurous, intelligent, bubbly, and confident. 

During one of her many employments after the boardwalk, Evelyn fell into a relationship with a man who would eventually cheat on her with a coworker. This wouldn’t be her last taste at poor intuition. Evelyn had been working at another one of her jobs and began a friendship that she hadn’t known she needed. It was the first time in a long time that she felt cared for. The woman brought back that vibrant yellow aura in Evelyn, allowing her to be an authentic version of herself without attempting to change who she was. It was refreshing to envision the future with a potential person that could provide her with the compassion that she had been desperately trying to replicate from, in different ways, the loss of both of her parents. After disclosing intimate feelings for the woman, Evelyn’s world once again came crashing down. The feelings were not reciprocated. 

Evelyn went into her own maladative patterns of destruction: shopping sprees, staying out until early in the morning, periodic hook-ups, and even her own drug use. Her feelings of hopelessness, isolation, and grief were so strong that Evelyn had to seek her own mental health treatment. For her, it was dark and uncertain. After receiving the support that she needed, Evelyn was stable enough to return to life. 

Evelyn decided then and there that she was going to go college and find something that she could turn into a passion. Evelyn wanted to give herself a real opportunity to establish a career. She eventually found herself returning back home not only to take courses, but slowly attempting to mend her relationship with her mother. Evelyn has been back in Aurora Bay for about three months. In that time, Evelyn has been helping her mother clean up the house and adopt a furry friend to provide her with some company. In order to pay for tuition, Evelyn seeked employment at the Black Cat Cafe. 

Evelyn recently moved out of her mothers house and moved into Ocean Crest Apartments, along side her partner in paws, Marley. She is looking for a fresh start in the place that she had always know as home. While feeling fueled with optimism of her new start, she still is on edge of others. She has lost trust and remains rigid on allowing anyone in about what she had experienced when she was on the east coast. For those who knew Evelyn before would had trouble picking her out of a crowd now. She’s superficial and vague but can carry a conversation if it’s what she truly wants.

Coming from the musically driven world of Melody, Musa’s childhood was surrounded by constant sounds of harmony. Her mother was a professional opera singer known around the fairy realms and she was her biggest inspiration in finding her sound. Tragically, when Musa was still very young, her mother grew ill and passed away. To cope with the grief of losing her, her father banned music from their home and a once musical space became silent. Her father poured all of his time into his work and Musa was all alone. Over time her loneliness just became her greatest tool and she continued to practice her magic and her music in secret. When she was accepted into Alfea, a school made for furthering the education for fairies all around, her father was hesitant to allow her to go but ultimately let it happen. For a while, Musa kept to herself and kept a tough exterior up for the fear of growing too close to others and losing them like she did her mother. Meeting Bloom and her friends was what made those walls start to come down. For the first time she met people who liked her for her passions and who she was as a person. It was hard to open up to them all at first, but over time they became a practical family to her. Crazy adventures seemed to always come with their presence and Musa loved the thrill even when she wasn’t sure what the outcome would be. Her magic was stronger when she was with her friends and in her eyes they created the perfect harmony. A perfect harmony can’t exist if a part of it goes missing, so it was a no-brainer to search for Stella once she had disappeared overnight. Musa and her friends were hot on the case and somehow they ended up waking up in a town called Evermore that was on Earth of all places! Musa’s memories were fuzzy and all she could really recall was everything until her last year at Alfea. Her reasoning for being in Evermore was gone and if some of her friends hadn’t been insisting that Stella had gone missing, she wasn’t sure if she would really believe that. No one can remember why they were looking for her but since she was her friend that was reason enough for Musa. As she got herself accustomed to life in Evermore her search for her missing friend was fresh in the back of her mind. At the same time, being in Evermore was giving her the chance to really explore her craft and perfect her sound as a musician and performer. She got herself a job at a record store immediately but she wanted more experience in the field and started her own DJing gig. It was hard not to isolate herself at times and fall into her art but everyday she tries her hardest to check on her friends and continue the mission at hand. Without Stella around, everything feels a little bit off center, but she is confident everything will end up alright in the end. It just has to!

While it offers a playful take on the digital age and maintains the franchise's commitment to family values, it struggles to balance its whimsical premise. The lack of a cohesive narrative results in film moments that entertain in spurts. The Bad: Where Spy Kids: Armageddon falters, however, is in its execution of the overarching plot. The premise of a villain gaining control of all technology has potential, especially in today's increasingly digitized world. Unfortunately, the film struggles to explore this concept in a meaningful way. Instead, it leans heavily into the fantastical and often absurd aspects of the spy genre. The decision results in the film sacrificing coherence for over-the-top action sequences and gadgets. While these elements have always been a staple of the franchise, they feel more exaggerated and disconnected from reality in this installment. Reading, obviously, like the proper nerds that they are: on the sofa, in their garden, they sit together, one of them with their head in the other's lap, and sometimes they read their own book, other times they read together.

They often go on long walks, in exploration of the wild and of nature, no matter the season...their own adventures, you know :')

Prepare their meals together: Gilbert is a disaster at first, but he becomes quite decent under Anne's guidance, and they always end up having fun.

They l o v e to argue. As in...intellectual debates. They challenge each other and it gets them all hot and bothered, but you haven't heard that from me.

Traveling. They can't do it very often, but they take all the opportunities they can, because they're explorers at heart and they have to see and learn as much as they can, and there's no one else they'd rather do that with.

Basically interior decor. Anne loves coming up with new creative ways to decorate their house and their garden, and Gilbert participates and helps however he can, following all of her instructions, because he has fun and he loves seeing her creativity and ideas turn into reality.

They're the greatest parents and they love their family time and spending time playing with their children.

2 - How’s their team work? Do they share well?

I’m once again reminded of that “left-handed, right-handed” fic akshjk. They’re very much in sync even after the time they spent apart. They complement each other well so there are no issues with that. As they go more into adulthood I can see a few smaller issues with sharing but really nothing worth highlighting. They’ve been joined at the hip since 15 and they shall still be at 85.

15 - How adventurous are they?

Oh very. They spend a lot of their twenties travelling. Whether that’s on tour or spontaneous trips to Europe, or getting lost and going the long way home they collect many memories over the years. Brittany’s unstoppable because she has no limits and as much as Santana side-eyes everyone they meet along the way, she’s more than up for new experiences. More often than not the adventure is accidental but that’s what makes it fun.

20 - What does their home look like? Their room?

Hmm I imagine a very chaotic decor from all their travels. Brittany has moodboards, Santana her posters and various furniture. It becomes slightly more streamlined as they mature but they’re never gonna go minimalist. It’s a clash of bright colours from Britt and dark ones from Santana but they make it work. Funnily enough the bedroom is much more lowkey and feels more cohesive, a true shared space. Initially, I see them living in a small studio in New York before they settle down from all the travelling. Not nearly as spacious as the loft in Bushwick but it’s enough. Not like they wanna be more than five feet apart anyway.

34 - Do they have any pets?

You mean besides Lord Tubbington? Haha the rascal. Well I don’t know where Lady T goes but it’s just the three of them for a while, but unfortunately cats don’t live forever and Tubbs can only hold on for so long. When he eventually passes, and Brittany is d e v a s t a t e d. Santana, self-proclaimed hater of cats gets a kitten as a present a couple of weeks later and Brittany quickly warms to it - they both do. And so begins a Dynasty of Tubbingtons where Brittany keeps adopting more and more cats and Santana complains but accepts her fate. They stop at about 8. The naming system is another thing to behold: Earl of Tubbington, Prince Tubbington, Duchess of Tubbington, Marquess of Tubbington. Might as well be the royal family with how Brittany keeps giving out titles but it becomes easier to follow than if they were all just named (Lord) Tubbington, which was a possibility. So instead it’s Earl, Duke, etc. for short.
