Who is more likely to ask for help ( ship: Margaret & Jones)

If you count Margaret's delegating and turning to others to accomplish something as "asking for help" in general, then she would be the answer. Also since she would guarantee be the one asking Davy for help when it comes to anything with ship navigation.

But I think Davy has his fair share of turning to Margaret for different kinds of help (support, someone to talk to, even someone who has the ability to go on land) they even out :3

AAAAAAAA YES!!! I love em too, took me a while to write the tags haha but its definitely worth it. I absolutely love explaining about Davy's character progression BECAUSE IT'S SO GOOOOD.

The development before he meets Margaret and then after he's met here is just so addicting to write. He goes through so much, and his character goes through dramatic changes to the point where he doesn't consider himself to be human anymore (whether internally or quite literally).

And then Davy comes across Margaret and he realises how much he wants to be human again just so he can be with her, no matter how fearful he is with those feelings of guilt, regret and betrayal. And he realises how much of a big mistake he's made with removing his heart as well.

(But that's kind of okay because he can then literally give Margaret his heart as a token of his undying love for her if they both are unable to find a way to return it back where it belongs in his chest. I have this line inspired from Howl's Moving Castle where he says something like "Mah chest feels so heavy, Margaret!")

"Good afternoon, mah dear Margaret- uh!" Davy teleports in with quite possibly the warmest smile upon his tentacled face. An almost human smile that was only reserved for her of course.

(HELLO IT'S BEEN A CENTURY HOW ARE YOU TOBI? I MISSED YOU, LIZZIE AND MAGGIE!)

"Davy!" As though awoken from a long and deep slumber, the Widow turned to see her Sea Wolf. She returned a bright smile, and runs over to him, "Why, it almost feels like ten years and a day, how happy I am to see you!"

(MEGAAAANNNNN! HELLO HELLO! ITS BEEN FOREVER! I AM GOOD THANKS AND YOU? I'VE MISSED YOU AND DAVY SO MUCH!)

I'm really curious what would happen with Jack's debt if Margaret were to influence Davy. Maybe Jack should have a chat with her to explain what happened back then :U

and I am honestly SO curious myself. This is a great potential opportunity for Davy Jones' redemption arc progress goodies too!

tldr; Margaret likely would influence Davy... at least partially since this makes her a sort of neutral third party mediator? But probably in a way where Jack still has to pay up in some way, because Jones held up his end. Bargains with Jones aren’t exactly escapable, which she surprisingly actually has some experience with this (see towards the end of the post). Plus Jack is a wiley one and has (extensive?) history with Jones so that makes things more interesting XD So I’d love to hear your thoughts too!

[we interrupt this message for a brief moment where I fell down a rabbit hole of reading/analyzing The Price of Freedom’s ending with Jones & Jack and the Epilogue while I'm still in the middle of typing this ask (not mind you I haven’t read much else of TPOF yet, but I digress) and I JUST -- OH GOSH I have so many questions now!! ABOUT JACK. ABOUT JONES. ABOUT THE BLACK PEARL.

WAIT. YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THAT DAVY FREAKING JONES NOT ONLY RE-FLOATS THE WICKED WENCH/BLACK PEARL, HE FREAKING UPGRADES IT!? 

HOW DID DAVY DO THIS?! DOES HE KNOW ALL ABOUT SHIPBUILDING HIMSELF?! SUMMON A CREW OF GHOST SHIP BUILDERS TO DO THEIR WORK OUT OF EXISTING SHIPWRECKS ON THE OCEAN FLOOR?! 

I NEED to know!!

AND DAVY FREAKING JONES ADDS THE GORGEOUS BLACK PEARL FIGUREHEAD!!! I NEED TO KNOW WHO AND WHAT THAT FIGUREHEAD REPRESENTS AND WHERE/HOW DID DAVY GET IT AND WHO ORIGINALLY CARVED IT?!

Okay so back to the plot!

Jones held up his end of the bargain (& quite impressively might I add), so... Jack can’t exactly go off scott-free XD But Margaret would also be strongly against Jack being sent to the Locker or devoured by the Kraken.

Idk what exactly that results in... Jack still serving some time (perhaps crewing aboard the Dutchman now won't be so bad with Margaret in the picture haha XD)?

Or mayhaps the Black Pearl (captained by Jack) joins Davy Jones’ fleet?

Ultimately theoretically only that the oceanic judge can settle the penalty/different terms from the original bargain?

But yeah, like I mentioned earlier... Margaret shockingly knows personally what it means to hold a debt to Davy Jones. Worse, she knows said an unsettled debt to Jones can turn hereditar even after the debtor’s died. 

*casually leaves this here too because I love this edit and lil' rp blurb that Megan and I wrote some time back*

Also, yes. This is how Margaret finally meets squid-faced Davy with his whole cursed appearance and infamous reputation. And Davy’s redemption arc first begins. :D

“Ah, yes. Breakfast and coffee breaks are always rather interesting with Davy.

“Suppose that’s the interesting thing about having a cursed captain for a husband. Does one not bring one's habits from the Dutchman? 

“Given the interesting effects of his curse, and our mutual respect for how we enjoy our coffee, I haven’t the heart to inquire whether or not his habit is entirely beneficial for his health. What even is health when one is cursed as he? So, like I said, everyone has their own respective preference with caffeinated beverages.”

I prefer mine with creamer and sugar, or the monthly Arrbucks specialties.

“Still, I’d by lying to say that I don’t find it amusing~”

“ You are a very beautiful goddess. Please never doubt yourself. I have faith that all women are secretly goddess’ regardless what form they take on, and you, my dearest, are the fairest and most ethereal of them all. “

"I cannot help it, Candlelight..." Margaret sighed forlorn, closing the umpteenth book on nautical lore with only dead ends for any clues on breaking the Ferryman's curse. "the doubt, crushing as the waves of the worst storms."

What if she was too... mortal to break a centuries-old curse of ancient lore? Humans were strong-willed, nearly unstoppable when in love, and hoped in the worst of circumstances. But they were also too often short-sighted of their own limitations.

Especially when it came to matters of the heart... especially with complicated second love stories, where there's always the ghosts of past loves - in her case one of those ghosts being a still very alive and very powerful sea goddess. Someone I could never compete with... not ever wish to, knowing the woeful fate of Arachne who dared to compete against Athena...

Still, she would not stop trying, or hoping that Davy could finally be free. And they could always be together.

But her friend's assurance and kind words brought her comfort. And the hints of a bashful grin. Margaret was special, and 'the chosen one' of her own story, even if she couldn't see it in herself immediately.

"...thank you, my dear, most kindly."

All I can imagine is this baby, when older(like four), being asked to draw their family in class. You get stereotypical four year old drawings, except theirs.

With them, you get an Octopus with legs named "Daddy," a hammerhead shark with legs named "Uncle Maccus" and then a stereotypical four year old drawing of a woman labeled "Mummy/Mommy".

Everyone thinks they made it up, maybe because their dad isn't around, until Davy picks them up after school, in which everyone is terrified except the child, who runs happily to him and calls him "Daddy" for all to hear
