GENERAL
Location: Xianzhou Luofu (mainly), Xianzhou Yaoqing (occasionally)
Birth location: Xianzhou Yaoqing
Race: Xianzhou native/Foxian
Family: Nie Shuangnao (father, Xianzhou native), Limao (mother, Foxian), Nie Mingjue (half-brother)
Age: 300+
Physical features: Dark brown foxian ears. No tail.
Occupation: Artist, influencer.
Path: Nihility
Type: Imaginary
Weapon: Fan
BACKGROUND
Nie Huaisang is the youngest son of Nie Shuangnao and only child of Limao. Limao, unfortunately died from childbirth. It’s not common, but it happens. Like that wasn’t enough, he also lost his father when he was ten. He was killed in action, since he, like Mingjue, was a Cloud Knight. Nie Shuangnao was just a little over 400 then and left his two sons orphans. Mingjue was sixteen at the time and already prominent among the Cloud Knights and became his younger brother’s legal guardian after he himself became emancipated. Thankfully, their family was rich, so money was not a problem.
Mingjue quickly rose through the ranks and became a Captain, which also meant more duties and more time away from home. Or rather, Huaisang spending way too much time among the Cloud Knights. Though, most of the time, Mingjue tried to make him stay at home with their two servants.
This also meant that Huaisang got pretty spoiled by his brother and that they also became very close, being the only ones in the family. They had been close before their father’s death, but this made them closer.
Unlike his brother and father, Huaisang has no interests in warfare or physical activity in general, unless it was dance or taking care of his pet birds. Huaisang’s love is art (especially poetry and painting) and birds. Although he does have smarts, school was never a thing for him and he often struggled. When Mingjue tried to teach him swordsmanship, he usually broke down crying. Huaisang also lacked skills in cultivation (combat type). This wasn’t too pleasing to Mingjue, but he also noticed his brother’s strengths. How he could tame and calm any bird (a bit of a bird whisperer), how his calligraphy was amazing at an early age and how he could charm almost anyone. Mingjue also noticed that Huaisang was indeed very observant and clever, even if he wasn’t academically smart.
Besides worrying about his brother when he left for battle, Huaisang’s life was mostly good. He grew up and became an artist, mostly painting hand fans, but also an influencer, posting videos of his daily life, outfits and similar.
Then tragedy happened.
Mingjue had been in a mood for a while, but told Huaisang nothing about it. Then one day, he became Mara-struck out of nowhere. He ended up killing their two servants and injuring Huaisang before he could be stopped, getting killed himself in the process. Huaisang sank into a deep depression as he mourned his brother, isolating himself.
It was during this time that he found his brother’s notebook and he began secretly researching. This led him to being certain that Mingjue had found out about corruption within the Alliance and that he had been killed to be kept quiet. Not knowing who to trust, Huaisang fled to the Luofu, where he is still currently staying. However, he still returns to the Yaoqing occasionally, having kept his childhood home.
Outwardly, he’s a sensitive, eccentric man with a love for birds, art and wine. Privately, he is still plotting on how to get his revenge. It’s been over thirty years, but he will not give up. He might be a hybrid, but he has the longevity of a Xianzhou native and one day, the people who killed his da-ge will pay.
He is once again painting and doing videos, but he is still battling depression and anxiety.

If the General expects him to beg and grovel, he is wrong. Nat isn't a fighter, but he is brave and headstrong. Is he scared? A bit. He still remember the Alliance attacking his home. Memories that will never go away. Instead of showing his worries, he stands up as straight as he can, meeting the man's gaze, nodding to show that the name is correct.
"No innocent until proven guilty then?" No surprise there. Honestly, he's surprised that they didn't throw him in prison without asking questions. That seems to be more in line with the Xianzhou Alliance in his limited experience. "You have my identification. You can easily see that I have never visited a Xianzhou ship before. If you want proof that I have never interacted with this... cult, I'm assuming, outside one of your flagships, I have none. Other than my word, but as an Outsider, I'm guessing my word is worth nothing to you, General." Does he sound a little hostile? Yes. It's hard not to when you're being chained and accused for something you haven't done by people you've done your best to avoid.
"I only boarded the Luofu to buy supplies and rest. Which is why I sold some of that moss when I was asked about it. It's harmless. Used to stem blood and mildly sedating to humans. I would never sell anything dangerous to someone I don't know. I heal, I don't kill." Unlike you, he thinks, but doesn't say.

@marchingasone liked for a starter!
A large tremor rocked the space station, followed immediately after by an alarm echoing off the metal walls, a sound that many aboard prayed never to hear again - a heavy tone announcing that the facility was once again under attack; notices were relayed quickly through the security division to the location of the hull breech.
Torn wiring sent off sparks that danced across the floor as maintenance set to work repairing the torn metal and sealing off the vacuum that would drag the unsuspecting into the fathomless void of space, shrapnel and broken glass littered the ground in a trail of destruction.

"What the hell does that even mean?" she snaps, eyes flaring from a golden brown to searing amber as she bares her teeth at the man with a snarl. She's too frustrated and too pissed off to deal with subtext and unspoken questions. With being worried about (though she's never keen on that).
Because, fuck's sake, she'd have to be sure of what he even knows before she can even think about what he doesn't. And what the hell of that, unknown or known, even fucking matters? She raised her sister because their mother died, became the monster she was treated as for daring to be alive, hasn't slept more than twice a week since she was fucking twelve—
All of that a fucking given, just a matter of fact. Something that goes without saying, unknown or not, because it's not like any of it is going anywhere.
...Or maybe it's just a matter of the fresh stitches under her clothes, the wounds doubly reinforced with ice to keep them shut. But risk and rips are something she's used to, especially in her line of work, and if she can walk it off the resulting scar (if any) will be forgettable sooner than later.
Even if, in the meantime, she moves to avoid breaking anything, and keeps Third up even outside of combat to expedite healing.
"If you have something you want to say, just say it."

Verse: Yin Yu || Honkai: Star Rail
TL;DR at the end.
Yin Yu comes from a prominent family onboard the Xianzhou Yuque. A family who have been Cloud Knights for generations and as the oldest son, he had no choice but to follow his father's footsteps.
When he is 16, he gets a call from the Realm-Keeping Commission about a feral street kid that they need help with, having walked into a, for civilians, forbidden zone. Yin Yu immediately saw that this boy, Quan Yizhen (10 yo), had talent and with a talk to his father, the boy was taken in by the Yin family.
Quan Yizhen quickly absorbed the Cloud Knight teachings, despite his youth, and rose in rank like few have before him and he and Yin Yu soon became brothers-in-arms as members of the Echojade Fleet.
Unfortunately, it's not all as good as it seems. Besides Yin Yu, no one likes Yizhen. He's not a bad person, but he has no interpersonal skills and takes anything said or done at face value, reacting with physical force when he deems it necessary. This rubs many the wrong way in a society like the Xianzhou, where humility, subtlety and just hinting things are the general norm. Yin Yu made it his job to smooth things over for Quan Yizhen, but instead of explaining why things was taken the wrong way by others, he just told him he did nothing wrong, not wanting to hurt Yizhen or cause conflict. Something that greatly upsets Jian Yu, Yin Yu's childhood friend and fellow Cloud Knight.
When Quan Yizhen surpasses Yin Yu in rank, a place Yin Yu had worked incredibly hard for that Yizhen just... gets, he pushes down the jealousy and resentment he feels for it, knowing that his 'brother' earned it fair and square. Soon, Yin Yu gets slowly pushed to the sides in the Echojade Fleet, only remaining by the grace of Quan Yizhen.
During the Third Abundance War, Yin Yu is tasked with gathering information about the borisin strategy and plans, which he does and sends it with Jian Yu to give to Quan Yizhen. Jian Yu think this is an excellent time to try and humiliate Quan Yizhen, changing the content of the letter. This leads to Yizhen and the other Cloud Knights in the Echojade Fleet to walk into an ambush. Most of them manages to flee, but Quan Yizhen gets severely injured, while protecting his fellow Knights, and nearly dies.
As this gets investigated, Yin Yu get accused for attempted murder, despite Jian Yu speaking up for him. During the interrogations, which were as thorough as all Xianzhou interrogations are. Exhausted and pushed to his limits, years of annoyance and resentment surfacing, Yin Yu eventually snarls "maybe he should've died", which he immediately regrets, but it's too late. It's taken as a sign of guilt. Had this happened during peace-time, the investigation would've taken longer and things might've gone different, but now, all resources were needed for the war. Yin Yu is ruled guilty and is punished by banishment, as is Jian Yu.
Already injured as he's placed on the nearest habitable planet, Yin Yu and Jian Yu stands no chance when the borisin finds them. That should've been the end for Yin Yu, but he is found by the newly established Claretwheel Temple and nursed back to health. Unfortunately, Jian Yu was already dead by then and there was nothing to be done to help him.
Yin Yu stays with the Temple, but doesn't become a Monk. Instead he works as their guard, patrolling the parameter, checking security and defending people when needed.
Now, when the Claretwheel Temple has begun to form bonds with the Xianzhou Alliance, Yin Yu is feeling more than just a little weary, having no desires to see any of his kin (even though there are some Xianzhou natives at the Temple) and especially not any Cloud Knights.
TL;DR: Yin Yu is from a prominent Xianzhou Yuque Cloud Knight family. Working hard leads him to a position in the Echojade Fleet, which is then taken from him by his younger foster brother. Later he is accused of a crime he didn't commit and is banished. After being attacked by borisin, he's taken in by the newly formed Claretwheel Temple and gets nursed back to health. He now works as their guardian.

Perhaps he should excuse himself to then come back as the wisp, only if to try to cheer the man up.
Without words, Venti approached him, holding out a cup of hot tea that he'd bought from a nearby stall, his own in his other hand.
Not waiting for a response, he simply pressed the cup into the man's hands before settling down next to him, content to simply watch the rain fall.

CW: Yandere Themes, Arranged Marriage, Stalking, Forced Kiss
⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆
You had thought for years that the prophecy wouldn't be true. It hung over your head like a crimson moon, equal parts beautiful and haunting, words lingering on your lips like a young lover.
As decreed by the Mnestia long ago, Kephale would one day take up a lover who would wield witticisms and words as weapons forged in an ever-burning mind. At the time, it had seemed preposterous that a Titan, much less Kephale, would take up a lover. If not for a servant scribbling those utterances down and telling his children, who told their own children, who told their children, so on and so forth, the prophecy would have been lost to time.
If it had, would you still be in this predicament?
The first time you had heard of the prophecy when studying poets of old, you had brushed it aside as a simple legend. Kephale had already laid down a prophecy of his own by this time of how new heroes would soon conquer Coreflames to inherit the Titans' divinities, but you knew none of the Chrysos Heirs.
After a period of study, you soon began to craft your own verses. You much preferred the solitude of your home to the bustling crowds of the city, so you didn't hear how quickly your works began to gain popularity. Bards had a new repertoire to learn, and schemes and conceits never once imagined flowed through the air.
When one of the Chrysos Heirs himself began knocking on your door every day, demanding your attention, you realized your popularity had shattered any preconceived zeniths. Phainon was his name, he said, and from what he had heard of you, he was enchanted. The look in his eyes was such a hazy, skylit blue, it seemed like he truly had been the victim of some bizarre spell.
Every day he came and encroached more and more upon you and your home. At first, he stayed outside of your door, but eventually, he began to barge in, sitting at your table or searching amongst your shelves for any subjects he could strike a conversation with you on.
Despite his idiosyncrasies and his forthright behavior, despite the occasional memory igniting in your mind, reminding you of the prophecy, you didn't worry about it. Phainon had told you many times how he longed to take the Coreflame of Nikador, not Kephale. When word spread through Okhema over Nikador's defeat, whatever lingering doubts seemed to be extinguished. You were fine. The prophecy wasn't true, or perhaps it was meant for another Chrysos Heir, another poet.
Weeks later, you found yourself regretting your assuredness. It started, as many no-good things did, with a knock on your door. As you begrudgingly walked to open it, expecting to see perhaps a bard or a fool, you instead were greeted by Phainon. Despite the weariness in his eyes, his hands shot out and clenched your shoulders with such speed and strength, you nearly leapt out of your skin. His nose nuzzled into your neck, taking a deep breath. For what seemed like hours, he mumbled and babbled and blathered and prattled about Coreflames, Nikador, Kephale, and the prophecy. After his tirade, his grip tightened.
"But, at least you're mine now." The words seemed to shackle themselves around your wrists, binding you and your attention.
For a moment, you were so dumbfounded you couldn't find the words to express what you wanted to say. Had your situation been any less confounding, you would've found your speechlessness a wonderful little paradox. "Phainon, wha-what do you m-?"
Before you could finish your sentence, Phainon sealed away any remaining restraint he had with a brutally tender kiss. He seemed to push against your lips with the goal of wearing them down until they molded perfectly against his. The kiss itself seemed to metamorphosize with how long it lived; at first it was tender, like new shoots of life growing in spring, but as it grew in age, so did its greed. Phainon seemed intent on savoring every second as an eternity in its own right.
When he did break the kiss, he gazed at you with an otherworldly devotion. It was a look of such sweet softness that it could kill. "I might not have Kephale's Coreflame yet, but I will. I'll do it. Just for you." Though he said he didn't have a Coreflame, his eyes burned with passion brighter than the sun. It scorched your tender skin, branding you with illusory markings of possession. A declaration, almost, that you were, in fact, the subject of Mnestia's dreadful prophecy.

Verse: Honkai Star Rail
Nathanael was born on a human colony on a planet at the "edge of civilization". The colony there was established many generations ago by people who believed that technology was the root to selfishness, greed and other bad emotions and wanted to live a life free from that. So they found their way to a habitable planet (the trip there taking 1.5 generation by the way space travel were at then) and started their dream society.
The society was based on community, where everyone lived together and shared everything and everyone helped caring for each other. This led them to eventually becoming worshippers of the Abundance. Of course there were friction, but generally, it was a peaceful society with pretty much no illness and people living for around 150-200 years.
Then, they were discovered by the Xianzhou Alliance. They were given a chance to stop worshiping the Plagues Author, but they refused, ending with the entire settlement being wiped out by the Alliance. Or so it was thought. One young boy survived. Injured and alone, he should not have survived, but a kind woman healed his wounds and gave him food and drink. The woman came and went, taking care of Nathanael until six years later when a merchant ship made an emergency landing on the planet and found the boy, now around sixteen. They could not find any woman and thought that perhaps the boy had gone a little mad from being on his own for some time.
Having lived by himself, only having the woman as occasional company, something that had happened less and less as time went by, Nathanael was unused to other people, but also very curious. Thanks to having grown his own food the last few years, he was physically strong and having a pleasant personality, he managed to get around on his own quite well. He also had a penchant for healing and medicine, his own mother having been the community's main healer and the Woman having taught him further.
Though, it wasn't until nearly a year of travelling that he found out he also has a very specific ability: he can heal by touch.
Witnessing a child getting hit by a vehicle, he rushed to help only to discover that the child had died on impact. However, as he held the child, he could feel how something from him, some kind of energy, went to the child and suddenly the kid once again drew breath. Stunned and scared, he fled. Through trial and error, Nathanael would eventually find out that he can't raise the dead, but he can heal most injuries as long as there is life in the body. It will cost him though. The healing take of his own vitality, making him sick in the process, but the sickness is worth it. If he can help someone, he will.
He is now in his mid-thirties and travels through space as a wandering healer, both to help and to learn. He does avoid the Xianzhou Alliance, but not out of grudge, even if he can't forgive them either. The reason he stays away is that he isn't sure they wouldn't kill him on sight, since he is quite certain that the Woman who saved him as a kid was no one other than Yaoshi herself and that the food she gave him probably is the reason he can now heal others by touch. However, he is also curious about these long-life species and maybe his healing abilities can help the Mara-stricken. Though, would they allow someone blessed by the Abundance to try and heal an illness caused by the same Aeon? Who knows. It might depend on which ship he goes to.
Thankfully for Nathanael, the universe is big and if he wants to, he can avoid the Xianzhou Alliance for the rest of his life. Not that he knows how long his life will be, since he hasn't seemed to age a day since his early twenties...

@aurivore said : // Actually, could you tell us more about HSR Nix in Penacony? *interested, listening*
Ask and you shall receive! Nix arriving in Penacony would be quite the surprise since her arrival is entirely unplanned. Even without the majority of her memories, she can still sense something isn't quite right with the world she found herself in. Even if she is rather exhausted at first and becomes easily distracted since a lot is new to her. Although, much to the Mastermind's possible dismay, her natural talent for seeking out problems and solving them is still in effect. Sure, she has no idea where she is going but go she shall. Plus trying to keep her under control would prove to be difficult since at the first chance of not having eyes on her, she will wander off to seek out 'what doesn't feel right'. Her tiredness will fade when things get serious, Nix being able to focus and clear out much of the mind fog. Plus as it clears, recalling her magic will come to her naturally as well. Which means the woman can and will defend herself when need be.. And the Bloodhounds are not like the Heroic Spirits back home. This means they are on the same level as her and Nix can throw down against them-. Though things would be easier for her should she encounter the Astral Express and join them. Nix can do much on her own but can't overcome all her struggles alone. Especially her level of exhaustion. Mentally, she can shrug it off for a while but her body will hit the switch eventually should she not take it easy..

"Oh! yet you are still called immortals?" Huaisang is a smart man. A cunning man, but even for him this has all been a bit too much to take in. Very little makes sense and he can't remember the last time he felt this confused and out of his element. He dearly wished he could just sit down and paint instead, but that is currently out of the question. Yes, he does add to the dramatics, but he is truly stressed and his hands wants to fidget, wants to do something. Having unfolded his fan, and put it on the table, he picks it up once again, gracefully twirling it between slender fingers.
Huaisang breathes a sigh of relief. At least there is tea here and from the sound of it, green tea. Hopefully, it's the same to what he's used too. Or at least similar enough. He is fully aware of the different kinds of green tea and the Nie prefer a rather strong drink, but often also infused with fruits or flowers. Unlke his rather un-Nie appearance, he taste buds are very much Nie.
"Planet? Space-faring age?" What is this man talking about? "Are you talking about the sky? The sun and the moon? Commoners travel in the sky?" Huaisang has no idea how far away from regular flight travel he is. All of it concept so foreign to him that he will have difficulties grasping it. At least he understand what time travel means. "Are you telling me that your people might be my people's descendants?" Definitely not one of his own descendants considering Huaisang has no interest in women and last time he checked, two men could not create an offspring.
As the tea arrives, Huaisang looks them over and finds one that smells like green tea with jasmine. Preparing his tea, something he clearly has done many times before, he feels a little bit of that stress settling. Yes, he does take a little longer than usual to prepare it, just to give himself some extra time to process his situation.
Taking a sip from his cup, he makes a small appreciative sound. The tea tastes very similar to what he's used to. Good.
Shaking his head, he meets the man's gaze again. "No, I was doing paperwork. The bane of every sect leaders' existence. If I had the power to make myself travel places in the blink of an eye, I would use it to make my paperwork disappear, not myself."
Huaisang takes another sip of tea.
"However, since I am a Sect Leader, no matter how bad, and for one of the four major sects, I do have plenty of enemies. I cannot rule out outside interference." Although, he couldn't confirm it either.
While he was unsure how much of this man's dramatics were... just that, dramatics and how much was genuine Jing Yuan wasn't entirely sure. But suddenly appearing on a Xianzhou flagship and not being able to communicate with anyone would certainly rattle most regardless.
"Er... Xianzhou natives do have longer lifespans than most, but we can still die. We are not gods."
Long ago their ancestors essentially wanted to be, and they paid the price for it. Dearly. And their descendants were still paying the price.
The general suppressed a sigh and rubbed his temples at the response to his question to try and gauge what level of civilization the other had come from. Horseback. Lan, help him.
"....I see."
He nods at one of the nearby Cloud Knights upon Huaisang's request. "Green tea for myself, please and thank you."
With a salute, the knight hurried off.
Jing Yuan turned his attention back to the Outworlder. "From what you say, it appears either you are from a planet that has not yet developed to its space-faring age, or you have somehow traveled through time, for the Xianzhou natives have not had to rely on horses for transportation for many, many, years."
The selection of a few teas is brought before them, which the general accepts with thanks before preparing his own cup.
"As for how you could have possibly gotten here... that I am at a loss for. Other than getting dizzy all of a sudden you don't remember anything else?"

She's about as talkative as a pet rock, they're not here to discuss tea, and she knows damn well what someone looks like when they're choking on words unsaid (even if she never actually speaks them herself).
She drops into her seat unceremoniously, dragging her gaze to the horizon instead of Dan Feng. It'd be easier for him to take his time and talk, period, if she doesn't have her attention fixated on him like a threat.
A hand plucks up her tea without looking, eye flashing amber as she makes it the perfect temperature, and sips at it.
Patiently.

"Are you done?"
"No. Be patient."
Mydei opens his eyes and looks up at you from where he's lying on the couch. His face is covered in lipstick marks, and you can't help but think how pretty he looks like this, even with the little furrow between his brows. Cute.
You wipe off your lipstick, only to reach for another and start applying that one. "How many more of these are we testing?" he asks, reaching for the bag in your hand.
You hold it out of his reach and peer inside. "About...5?"
His gaze flits to the bag in your hands, then back at your face. "Be honest."
"...fine. At least 10 more. But they had a sale on these so it's really not my fault."
"Had I known this was the "emergency" I needed to come over for, I would've thought twice before rushing here the way I did."
"Yes, I can't imagine a worse predicament than the one you're currently in. Now close your eyes."
He grumbles but does as you ask. For all his complaining, he has stayed quite still throughout the entirety of your ministrations. You smirk and keep that thought to yourself as you move his feathery soft hair away from his face and land a kiss on his jaw, leaving another lip print in a slightly more muted shade of red than the last. His hands tighten fractionally on your hips.
You lean back and survey your handiwork. "Looks like this one isn't transfer-proof either. Pity, it's a pretty shade too."
He hums, his hands wandering distractedly over your waist and his fingers occasionally dipping under the hem of your shirt. "There has to be at least one in that pile. Keep going."
"If I didn't know better, I'd say you're enjoying this."
The corners of his lips twitch. "You're mistaken then."
"Uh huh." You finish applying the next one, a wine dark shade, and lean over to paint a new mark on his yet unadorned lips. The second yours land on his, a hand comes up to the back of your neck and holds you there. You're suddenly hyperaware of the way your body is pressed up against his, and how heavy his breathing is as he deepens the kiss.
You're gasping for air by the time you break away. Not him though. He's looking at you with the most amused smile plastered on his face, your lipstick smudged on his lips, though the faint dusting of pink on his cheeks doesn't go unnoticed by you.
"I take my statement back."
"Huh?"
His smile grows impossibly more amused as you try to collect yourself. "I said you were mistaken when you said I might be enjoying this. I take it back. That was fairly enjoyable."
"...you're incredibly annoying sometimes."
"Aren't I?" His expression has morphed into one of utmost affection as he takes in your flustered state. "Come on then, let's finish testing these. I'm sure we'll find one that doesn't smudge."
Too bad you'd only bought lipsticks that weren't transfer-proof.

The cold always made Venti sleepy. He couldn't help it, being an elemental life form- cold was simply the absence of heat, or energy. Even so, the cold winds were brisk, refreshing in their own ways, washing away the layers of his mask.
So lost in thought he was that he was startled when the jacket was suddenly draped on his shoulders, almost jumping.
"Ah." It took a second for him to get his brain into gear, blinking. "So, the General is one who likes to sneak up on others, hm?"
Venti pulled the jacket tighter around him, practically drowning under the swath of fabric- he was much smaller, after all. "Though perhaps a bit of a trickster, you're still kind at heart. Do you do this for every person you see standing in the cold, hm?"
