It's fucking cold.

Usually Dirk can handle the cold, but he has all his clothes on, including his alpaca wool sweater from Rose and both of his jackets, and he's still fucking freezing. Not only that, but his stomach has been rolling all day like it does if he gets too close to a churchyard.

He's been keeping his demonic aura as dull and close to his body as possible, and he looks fairly miserable curled up against the brick wall of the Starbucks, staring at his cup on the sidewalk in front of him to catch the change the hipsters toss his way on their way to the bookstore with their Macbook Airs and their too expensive coffee.

He looks up when a tall woman stops in front of him. "Hi?" he asks cautiously, a finger pushing his shades higher up the bridge of his nose to cover his glowing eyes.
