Since the post abt underneath the graveyards is still in process here is one of the new characters as sneak peek ;)
This is Flicker they're a little fire creature that help guide Key through the strange places they explore (basically like a living lighter/torch-)
Oh btw Flicker was not originally made by me but was actually made by a friend mine: @yourlocalxintrovert18
(They're a very talented individual and have made more characters for this story that'll be introduce too :D)
Here is like the size comparison of Flicker and Key- (Flicker is abt 4 inches tall )

I like to think that my oc J.D. has this big hyperfixation on trains he can probably tell you the many parts, types, and how they work to a specific degree (he also has a train model/set that he keeps in his room-) While for my other oc Key I'm thinking either smth about crows (as that is his favorite animal) or lockpicking as it is weirdly smth he's really good at-
What trivial knowledge or niche expertise would your OCs be very excited to share/apply if the opportunity arose?

Yknow I'm STILL not in love with the prefect luminary plot twist BUT I must admit the entire first part of alkaid's eden route has gripped onto my mind so hard that I'm still probably gonna put this route higher up in my head's ranking of all the routes
#👓#LIKE IT WAS SOOOO FASCINATING#THE WAY ALKAID WAS RESISTING HIS OWN UTGES TO BE A GENTLEMAN TO MC#JUST TO EXPERIENCE LOVE FOR THE FIRST TIME#but i liked it a bit more when i thought all that talk about dark urges was ljke#metaphorical or psychological#not some OTHER alkaid??#but also the potential lore reprecussions w the existence of prefect alkaid....#i am eating that up i wont lie

howdy!! for the undertale gold au, i was wondering if we could see more of dalv? (or starlo, dalv and rover!! like the family portrait)
if not thats ok :) i just wanna see more of how these sillies work in the au
TA-DA!! Finally, after days... UTG Dalv! I Am So Sorry.
Disclaimer Corn Yaoi IS canon in this AU and for those who don't like it. I am sorry HEHEKGHLF It's too late for me to go back and I thought it'd be funny to include it. Too embedded in the lore now
You find out Dalv's backstory not through recorded tapes, but through his diary! You know, how he has one in the Ruins? In turn, Chujin still records tapes.
I actually wrote Dalv's diary entries and will be leaving them under the cut so you can all get your dose of exposition, but I'll give a summary of it below the Diary Entries if you want a TLDR!
Also, I apologize if the writing isn't very good- I tried my best to keep Dalv's character and write out what happened, but I'd probably edit a couple details if I wasn't lazy LMAO
====
SUMMARY:
Dalv and Starlo own a large farming area together where they grow crops for monsters to buy. They were given an opportunity to expand the farm, and their business by association, to the Snowdin area. Starlo was unable to meet with the people in Snowdin about it, so Dalv had to go. He was a bit nervous to do so, Chujin offered to join him! As long as he got to test out his latest project; Axis, a funny little robot. Rover, Dalv and Starlo's kid, also joined them! They wanted to visit Snowdin and play with Chujin's robot. Dalv and Chujin left Axis to watch and play with Rover while they had their meeting. But this is when danger struck. During the meeting, a human came through Snowdin and attacked Rover, even taking their hat. Despite Axis already chasing after the human and Chujin giving Dalv warnings, Dalv ran after the human as well to find his kid's hat.
Dalv did find the human... who was very injured after seemingly having had a run-in with Axis who was oddly nowhere to be found in that moment. When Dalv encountered in the human... something shifted in him. This human hurt his child, they could have taken them away... Seeing them... He felt angry. Without thinking, for reasons he can't really explain, he attacked the human and finished them off for good. In a panic, mortified at what he suddenly did, he stole the soul. He didn't want to admit it, even if this was what monsters were meant to do to humans. The soul was declared missing and Chujin was blamed; there was concern over how much damage Axis caused and the fact that he seemingly killed the human so brutally that he also destroyed the soul which they NEEDED.
Dalv decided he was going to try and use the soul for good and try to infuse its power into his crops! He thought if monsters ate them, they'd gain enough power to last against humans AND possibly bypass the barrier. He couldn't do this alone... So he ended up coming clean to Chujin about what happened. Chujin was VERY mad but figured if he helped, he could maybe get his job back. The two worked on the project and when sprouting their first soul infused crop, a cob of corn, Dalv offered to test it.
....It made him very sick.
When Dalv fell down, he had left a message to Starlo in his diary, telling him to read it after he died. He told Starlo to return the soul and shut down the project entirely. The farms are already in danger just for supposedly having some sort of illness in the crops that Dalv seemingly ate (a lie). But Starlo...... didn't listen. He felt bad that it didn't work out for Dalv and felt bad that he felt horrible about it. He wanted to do it for him. Carry on his legacy. Cling to what left he had of Dalv and what he was working on.
....But it was never meant to be.
#yeah this'll make the masses upset. post it! /ref#sock art#undertale gold au#uty#undertale yellow#uty au#undertale yellow au#uty dalv#uty starlo#uty clover#utg rover#uty chujin#tw blood#uty corn yaoi

I think coming up with some general lore is a good idea, it doesn't need to be super deep, just enough to establish the tone for the factions and game in general.
I think doing big scale for the lore, like Dune or Warhammer 40k, is a good idea, because it justifies that even though the player is fighting on a relatively insignificant world, the response is fairly large.
There also needs to be reason as to why corporations are insanely powerful, like how in Cyberpunk, large corporations managed to pick up smaller ones after a market crash, becoming bigger, and managed to swoop in and manipulate the governments and countries that got hit by the crash.
Despite me wanting to go big scale, I don't mean writing 60 paragraphs on the creation of spaceflight or something, just that companies are big, ships are big, and there's a ton of overpopulation.
What I came up with:
Abridged:
After WW3, the world forms the United Terran Government (UTG) led by surviving generals. Initially communist, it transitions to a moderated capitalism due to overpopulation and poverty. Corporations exploit this, gaining power despite heavy UTG control. The UTG's council is massacred, leaving the vice-president in charge, who favors loosening corporate restrictions. Public protests erupt, but are suppressed by corporate militias. Eventually, corporations dominate Earth, while the weakened UTG dissolves. Indentured servitude replaces welfare, and resistance is crushed as corporations establish control, fielding armed forces. The Ark Project, originally a UTG project, aimed at space colonization, is hijacked by corporations seeking autonomy, culminating in their departure from Earth to establish corporate colonies throughout the Sol System.
Full:
After a cataclysmic WW3, the world unites in the wake as the United Terran Government. Led by one of the few surviving generals from the war, the UTG established a communist society to rebuild, resulting in a short period of peace and prosperity. As the population begins to bounce back, the UTG begins to strain under the weight of overpopulation and poverty. Hoping to combat this, the UTG announces a careful reform to a moderated form of capitalism, desperate for growth. The cunning and greedy quickly take to establishing corporate empires, snaking their way through loopholes for any advantage. Despite this, the UTG kept them on a short leash, taxing them and controlling them heavily, even forcing some of the largest to help with the Ark program, a program to rapidly develop space travel and terraforming. Seeking a release from the control the UTG had on them, multiple companies conspired together to find a way to remove the UTGs prying eyes. During a meeting of the UTG's council, multiple armed gunmen stormed the chambers, wiping out everyone inside. The vice-president of the UTG, who had been ill on the day of the attack, was given control of the UTG, and as their first act, they announced the loosening of corporate restrictions, praising them as the ones who would help rebuild after the terrible attack. Putting 2 and 2 together, the public realised what had happened, and mass protests broke out by the headquarters of the companies thought to be responsible. The companies mustered militias and private security forces, suppressing these events by any means necessary.
The UTG had no comment about these events. Over time, companies grew stronger and stronger, and as soon as the Ark project finished development, they raced off earth, establishing corporate colonies throughout the Sol System. On earth, the UTG, now a nigh-powerless shell, announced its dissolution. Companies took land and claimed control of cities, and those who relied on welfare to live were forced into exploitative indentured service contracts. Any resistance to this takeover was destroyed, with all corporations worth a damn, fielding at least some kind of standing army, militia or security force.

UTG Lore (How Key and JD met Part 1)
"So this seems to be the place.."
As Key walks to the entrance of the local graveyard he felt a chill on his spine, he was not sure why he would try to go there in the first place but he was just wondering what is the fuss about this place. And plus what's wrong with seeing where your godfather works right?
Well it seems to be a problem when your said godfather works at a graveyard, and not only that it is said to be where most people go missing when visiting because of some unknown creature lurking that place, striking those unlucky enough and eat them.
"Damn before I got here I was aware that this town was kind of weird but these rumours are just absurd.. Besides if that were the case I wouldn't be moving in with Mr. Morgan in the first place." Key thought.
After all a graveyard is just a place where the dead get buried its not like they can get up and move on their own or have a terrifying monster lying beneath it right?
Opening the gate he was immediately greeted by a cold breeze flew across his face and sees the many tombstones with plants were growing around it as well as a few crows hanging out there.
Walking inside he looks at the different tombstones each having the names of the townspeople who lived here before, some of them were names that he was able recognise as some of them are last names of his neighbours, I mean obviously right? they had lived in this town way longer than he ever did, hell they probably have a whole family linage of people who lived and died here.
While walking around and observing suddenly he notices one particular part of the graveyard that stood out. It was one of those small houses where caskets are put for those who don't wish to be buried, which were called a mausoleum if he remembers correctly. One of the first things he notices at the entrance that it seems to have 5 buttons with each having a strange symbol engraved on it.
First button had a rose, the second a skull, the third one a crow, the fourth one an eye, and the last one had a strange symbol that he can't really recognize nor understand.
"Hmm that's strange it seems to need some sort of code..
I guess the people who made this really don't want this unlocked." Key says.
As Key looks around the area he may have started to get to curious for his good.
"I wonder how this can be unlocked"
"Careful kid you might find out something you'll regret" a mysterious voice is suddenly heard.
Key startled by hearing the voice frantically looks around trying to see where it's coming from. "What the hell- who is there?!"
The voice snickers. "Calm yourself goggles I'm just messing with ya." From the corner of Key's eye he sees a boy probably around his age, slightly taller than him, wearing a long rugged black coat with a newsboy cap covering half his face.
"What the hell! You didn't have to scare me like that you know! Besides what is someone doing here anyways??" Key crosses his arms.
"I should be saying the same with you, normally this area is not a place where people just go for a stroll like it's a park ." The boy responds.
"But I suppose some people have different preferences on where they hang out" he shrugs. "Right.." Key still caught of guard by the boy's sudden appearance.
After a the quiet moment the boy now decided to break the awkward silence.
"Anyways you seems interested of that mausoleum why don't you try to find a way to unlock it?"
The boy says it so casually for an idea that will not only be breaking in but also disrespecting the dead. Which is not something Key does not want to do right now, besides he doesn't want to burden his guardian with any mess he might cause. It is already annoying enough that people around town have been spreading rumours about them so adding trouble like this is not ideal at all.
"Wait what- I'm not trying to unlock this!" "Really? It seems you wanted to just now." "I'm not just wanted to take a look that's all" "Yeah sure you were kid" the boy says rolling his eyes.
"What are you too scared to see what's behind that thing? Or are you just not smart enough to solve the puzzle? He teases.
Hearing those words Key felt his blood boil he just met this kid barely a minute ago and he's already starting to not like him.
"Well excuse you I don't know what your problem is but as if I don't have the brain to be able to solve this." Key scowled.
"Is that so? The boy responds.
"If that is the case how about we make a deal? If you manage to solve this puzzle I'll leave you alone."
"But if you don't you have to do whatever I say just like a dog" The boy smiles mischievously.
"Seriously what kind of deal is that??" Key asks. "Well if you don't want to I suppose I was right after all" The boy sighs "Excuse me! I bet I can be able to solve this puzzle with no struggle or help at all" Key hisses.
"Is that so?" he then took a step closer meeting eye to eye with Key.
"Then go ahead, prove it to me" The boy grinned. "Fine!" Key grits his teeth walking away from him to look around for the said clues.
Walking around he starts to wonder what he have gotten himself into if only he didn't care about his ego he wouldn't be putting himself into this situation.
Finding the clues were harder than he thought at first as the place was covered by many plants that have overgrown there with the way he found the clues were strange to say the least..
To start of he had tripped into a thorn bush (which hurt like hell-) where he found an old flower pot that had the number 3 engraved on it where inside he found a note saying to check out one of the golems there.
Second he went to check out the golems and found that one of their eyes were missing upon closer inspection he found another paper inside it's mouth, it seemed to be a map that has a the letter X pointing to the corner of the cemetery. Walking there he finds a shovel nearby and start digging into the spot of the map had crossed out and found a small stone eyeball with the number 5 on it. He decides to head back to the golems and put that eye back which unlocks a secret compartment on the stand of the golem much to Key's horror finds a skull in it. "What in the world.." Key says shaking a bit as he holds it.
Suddenly the skull was taken away by the strange boy.
"Wow some people have interesting ways to hide clues" The boy says as he plays around with the skull as if it's a toy.
"Hey what are you-" Key says as he tries to get it back but the boy holds Key by the face as he inspect the skull.
Looking at the back of the skull it says number 2 where the the boy finds the third note inside it with it saying to find the crows for help.
"Hey give me that!" Key manages to snatch the note but is now kind of confused on what it meant.
"Find the crows for help how can that-" But before he could finish his sentence suddenly hears a sound of caws nearby.
Immediately he follows that noise which leads to a small bird bath where the crows where chilling and checks under the basin to find the number 4 on it.
Alright it seems that he manage to find most of the clues except the last one which much to his dismay wasn't able to find.
Despite that he figures that since he managed to find most of the assign numbers for most of them he's sure the last assign number for that last symbol is 1.
Walking back to the entrance he presses the buttons in that order.
First strange symbol, next the skull, third the rose, fourth the crow, than the last was the eye.
Once he done it unlocks itself to show an elevator huh weird since when are these supposed to have those? It is protected by a gate that has a lock on it, great...
"Congrats bud you seem to somehow manage to solve the puzzle." The boy slowly claps his hands. "Although it seems your efforts to went to waste with the fact there is still a lock that requires a specific key." The boy says.
As much as he was annoyed by this guy he has a point how is Key supposed to be able to unlock this? He was about to plan to just leave it as is since he already solve the puzzle but that was when he idea. He puts his hand into his left pocket and finds something that he has held onto since he was 5 years old.
A key.
When Key was still living with his relatives he always tend to look around the attic to find and explore the many antiques and books that have been collecting dust by then, although he did have toys there was just something fun about exploring the attic plus he would tend to find lots of interesting stuff too. Like some random coats, old family pictures, hand made pottery (which he sometimes accidentally breaks-) but one of his favourite things to find is the many of puzzle toys that have been left there.
So when he saw a box that require him to solve a puzzle he obviously had to try to figure it out, it took a way longer than he expected but he finally managed to unlock it to reveal the key. Although he was disappointed at first he for some reason kept it with him despite being not sure what he'll ever use it for.
Maybe now is the best time to use it.
With that he inserts the key into the lock and to his surprise it unlocks.
"Wow kid how did you manage to have the exact key to unlock that?" The boy says also genuinely surprised.
"I don't know either I just had this before in the attic of my old home." Key replies.
They both stare at the entrance unsure on what to do next.
"So what now? Are you going to head in goggles?"
"What no absolutely not!!"
"Aww so you are still scared of what's behind that thing."
"No I'm not! How about you why don't you go in there??"
"Can't do kid as it'll probably dirty my coat. Though that'll mean we just wasted our time putting the effort to unlocking this thing."
Ugh this guy really saying that as if he doesn't look like he showered for days let alone at all, Key really thought he already lost his patient yet somehow this kid is proving otherwise.
"We! You didn't do anything at all! I have been the one doing all the work! Key says as he is getting more and more irritated with the boy as each minute goes on.
"Fine if you don't want to waste your effort why don't you go in right now." The boy replies crossing his arms.
"Alright fine I will!" Saying that Key walks inside the elevator but as soon as he enters the gate close all the sudden. It have caught both of the boys by surprise but before Key could turn around the elevator suddenly falls.
