Pain is putting some things in perspective for me on how my uhhhhhh perception there of is

Right now I am waiting for the painkiller to hit again after waking up too early bc taking anything other than a shallow breath is Owy Owy Owy My Incisions/ofc my entire stomach area feels deeply bruised and strained

This hurts less than the pain from the offending organ which I rated mmm a 4 or 5 or so variously my criteria being “could do literally nothing without having to work around it” (Emily how bad is like midtier pain? Oh you know. You can’t do anything except stumble back and forth between bed and a very hot shower I think). But the top of the scale is still an objectively less dangerous and obtrusive event/procedure this being “break tailbone on way to appointment, fall on it again more than once, get there and they go to remove ur IUD but it is crooked and partially embedded. they’re taking it out Anyway :) :) :)”

So Bethy has to get an ultrasound. She also has ovarian cysts and has even larger ones than me. 7 cm in the right ovary in length apparently. And her primary doctor wanted her to get an ultrasound to update her chart since her last was over a year ago. She's also got to have updated shit to get some kind of meds.

Anyway, they got the whole details on her MyChart about what it's for and what to expect since she's a minor. Mom and Bethy were aware of the full details. Drink lots of water beforehand so she has a full bladder, the usual. Bethy had to prepare herself all week to get up the courage to go.

Bethy got there and the lady who was supposed to do it wasn't available, so some guy was in her place. And he tried to force Bethy into a trans-vaginal completely different from the one she was scheduled to have. And Bethy exercised her rights and said no. And she called mom right then so mom could back her up.

You don't spring shit like on a teen girl, or anyone really.

Also, I'm just saying it's hella sus how I went for an ultrasound there a few months ago and had to sign a whole paper giving them consent for a trans-vaginal, even though I'm 27, only to go back and find that the lady who was going to do it, decided to do the easier one because, 'Your chart says you just got your first ever pap smear and you're a virgin. Medicine shouldn't be traumatizing if we can avoid it, so we won't be doing that today and you probably wouldn't handle it well.'

Neither Bethy or Dave(who had to take her to the doctor) had to sign a paper giving permission for a trans-vaginal ultrasound. This was just some random decision?

And the dude's reaction has made Bethy feel bad for not being comfortable or ready for it.

She has terrible anxiety about things like this and was already sick with worry. And now she's wondering if she overreacted.
