Ai Mikaze Song Rant
!!🧹CLEANING OUT DRAFTS WRITTEN IN LIKE 2021. Posted as is last written🧹!!
that may or may not be an essay but since its structure is completely off, I opted to call it a rant.
Also Ai looks mighty fine in that outfit. Ver. A has him sticking his tongue out. So cute!!
Note: this is a long overdue post that was made prior to the release of the album, I have not changed anything within this because dammit my past self worked her ass off on this and just left it on the backburner for so long.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Before the next batch of Quartet Night Solo Songs get released this year (oh my god its been 3-4 years since the last ones) I wanted to write down the charm of Ai's songs and I hope the trend somewhat continues.
There are a total of 6 songs released since 2012 and each song also has it's own take on love.
There are a total of 6 songs released since 2012 and each song also has it's own take on love.
Winter Blossom: Parting of a loved one
A.I: Being and feeling loved
Futari no Monogram: Understanding oneself
Innocent Wind: The Warmth of Love
Mune no Kodou: Understanding Love
Synchronism: Playful, and a smidge bit sensual. Looks like the love arc is complete if you catch my drift
And now let's look at the song list:
うたの☆プリンスさまっ♪ アイドルソング嶺二&藍
Uta no☆Purinsu-sama♪ Aidoru Songu Reiji & Ai
Track 02: Winter Blossom
August 22, 2012
Idol Song: Mikaze Ai
01: A. I
02: Futari no Monogram
June 25, 2014
マジLOVEレボリューションズアイドルソング 美風 藍
Maji LOVE Reboryuushonzu Aidoru Songu Mikaze Ai
01: Innocent Wind
02: Mune no Kodou
April 29, 2015
うたの☆プリンスさまっ♪ アイドルソング蘭丸&藍
Uta no☆Purinsu-sama♪ Aidoru Songu Ranmaru & Ai
03: Synchronism
May 24, 2017
Now why does the second part matter? Well to me, if you put them together. Arrange by release date and track number, it almost sounds like a story on its own.
A person who has lost a loved one and forgot what the feeling felt like (Winter Blossom) until they discovered someone who could possibly mend their broken heart and understand the concept of "Ai" (A. I).
After finding this someone, they want to better themselves, become more reliable, someone who could be deserving of that love (Futari no Monogram). That love is returned to them and it feels a bit too much, but they're grateful that this person continues to stay by their side, despite being "broken" (Innocent Wind).
Like any relationship though, it was not just meant to be a sunshine filled story, they got into fights and arguements but that never deterred them from loving each other. Even during the moments they felt down or when he was scared of the passage of time, still uncertain about love, they still stuck with each other through thick and thin. And to understand these overflowing emotions, he wrote it into a song, a ballad, that sung the wishes of normal lovers and how with them, he can understand love. That he too, has that "something" on his chest (Mune no Kodou).
This emotional beat is followed by a happy and relaxing, definitely no underlying desires song about love (Synchronism).
being vague about the last one since I'll explain in each solo segment.
I think you guys get what I mean about the songs tying together to form a story by now right? Which is amazing to me, even if they most likely didn't do it on purpose, it gives a new meaning to listening to Ai's songs. Which make it even more fun to listen to.
So now onto each song and it's significance.
Winter Blossom
The first song by Ai is still as sad and beautiful as the first time I read the english translation~ I cried. This is a very straightforward song. They shared their last moments in winter.
To hide our kiss, we draw closer together to share warmth
and he wishes to God that he could feel the same emotions as her. She's about to go and he knows this, and he doesn't want to forget so he tries to stop his tears. He wants to remember this. Timeskip and he's all alone now with these memories. He doesn't think it's bad, no matter how sad it was, and yet he could only think about what else he could've done. He feels like he understands now, and he tells the words "I love you" even if she wasn't there, and his voice is only heard by the wind. He remembers the moment one last time, and makes a promise.
It's a tragedy that he only figured out what love is after she died. The song really moves me to tears. The hopeful message at the end is really nice and gives the listener a sense of encouragement.
A. I
Just lovers out on a vacation by the seaside. It starts off with him asking
“At what percentage does it become ‘love’?”
The night grows nearer, as you two get closer, and yet all he can feel is uncertainty. Unsure whether his feelings would reach or if he could ever truly express what he feels. Insecure about his own name, one he even called poor, you show him that there is a meaning to "AI". This fills him with happiness and he sees you as someone he can turn to, his warmth. He gives you a kiss. For now, in this moment, you will enjoy the time spent together, even if in the future you may fight. For now, even if he can't express to you all his feelings, the one word you taught him is enough. I love you.
I've always loved the play on words for A.I (artificial intelligence), Ai (love), and Ai (name) used for the song. See I don't understand Japanese writing much but I really wish I did. From what little I know it's amazing to see that Ai uses katakana アイ throughout the song. Katakana is used for loan words or when you want to emphasize something. So him using アイ instead of 愛 emphasizes that he REALLY doesn't understand "Ai". If you look through the wiki, there are like, 5 instances of the katakana being used. First is in the line highlighted above. Another is in "I want to confirm it, this thing you call ‘love’/tashikametai yo kimi no iu 'ai'" and the most important one. The last line of the song.
I ‘love’ you… I love you
AI shiteru... aishiteru
アイしてる…[[愛]]してる
He actually learns what it means you guys. I'm proud of him. Another line that really got me in this song is when he keeps peppering you kisses because he was anxious. Baby, no, I won't leave you. I swear! Even if it takes time for you to understand, I won't let go!
Futari no Monogram
Innocent Wind
Mune no Kodou
Synchronism
Actually, while I was writing this down, I realized that most of his songs have an emphasis on warmth and the sun.
Winter Blossom
To hide our kiss, we draw closer together to share warmth
These memories aren’t bad, they transform into warmth
A. I
Your hand held in mine is so warm
Your warmth, this tender sunny spot is my gentle place to return to
Innocent Wind
By the tenderness of your warmth
This warmth is beyond even words…
Also the word embrace
(Winter Blossom, Futari no Monogram, Innocent Wind)
and hand holding
he's cold you guys
.
Rant over!
Waaaaa I'm not sure I even did him justice since half the time I couldn't word out what I want to say but hopefully it made some sort of sense???? I just really love him and his songs that I just kinda word vomitted everything.
Also was it super obvious that I adore Mune no Kodou to bits?! I could talk about how that's my favorite song all day because FUCK it's just THAT good.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Previously used promotional image featuring all 18 idols and the games logo.
Otoya from a music video without the rhythm game overlay. The Japanese text reads "Idols show off their brilliant performances!"
Images of various alternate rhythm game backgrounds that can be used during gameplay instead of the previously shown cg music video dance backgrounds. Top left shows a similar layout to Shining Live, with a static concert stage background and six rhythm icon lanes. The right shows a backdrop of the full art of the initial Reiji UR Piece with 4 rhythm icon lanes, confirming the amount of lanes will differ between songs, or difficulties. Japanese text reads, "A rhythm game featuring popular songs from Uta no Prince-sama!"
Four images of the chatting screens. One close-up each with Shion, Ranmaru, and Syo, and one with Eiichi central and Nagi, Masato, and Camus in the background. Japanese text reads "Have fun talking with the idols!"
Two images of the story mode. One the left is the main story with Ai, Tokiya, and Eiji, and on the right is likely a private or piece story with Van. The Japanese text reads, "a rich story with 18 idols!"
Two shots of the Piece level up screen, showing Yamato and Cecil URs. The Yamato UR rewards the player with four of a key shaped item with a pink heart crystal and ribbon. Design will likely vary in colour and shape for each character and group. The Japanese text reads, "Let's cultivate fragments of emotions, the Emotional Pieces!"
Image of Minipri, with Ren, Natsuki, and Kira in the same room setup as was initially seen. Japanese text reads, "Decorate your own rooms!"
Image of each group, likely taken from the music video of their group songs from the Live Emotion Theme Song CD.

Hi, everyone! I’m SaVannaWrites, an EN PNGtuber, collector, artist, etc. A friend of mine and I have started a group project called OoftaPri Entertainment, an effort to introduce and expand the fandom of Uta no Prince-sama, giving updates and news of all things going on with the franchise. We also do entertainment, as the title of the project suggests. We’re working on doing English covers of all songs from the franchise, and doing English dubs of the drama tracks. We hope to see you guys join us on our journey!

How to Play the Uta no Prince-Sama Games in English!!
Disclaimer!! This method won't provide a completely accurate translation but after playing one route fully (around 8 hours), I can confirm that this method works well enough. You can understand the plot and even play the minigames (I recommend playing them on easy though since they can be quite challenging on hard)
This method also works on the official releases of the games so pirating or emulation isn't necessary. Obviously I can't stop anyone from pirating but if you can please consider buying a copy of the game. At the time of writing all of the games are on sale on the Nintendo eShop, with Repeat being 50% off and the rest of the games being 20% off. Just make sure to test this method before spending any money, I don't want anyone to spend the money and then realize this method is uncomfortable or anything of the sort.
1. Requirments!
You will need two devices. A mobile phone and the device you will be playing the game on.
2. Step One, Translator
I use the Google Translate app but any translator with similar features will work. For this method we will be using the camera feature.
Tumblr media
3. Step Two, Using the Camera Feature
Using the camera feature is quite simple.
Tumblr media
After you go to the camera you will be met with this screen (it's black for privacy reasons but that's what you will see with your camera).
Tumblr media
Point the camera at the text you want to translate (in this case the text box in the game). It will automatically translate the text even if you don't take a photo. Just make sure to move your camera away from your screen when moving on to the next line because otherwise it won't translate the next line.
This method is quite tiring so make sure to take frequent breaks to let your hand rest. Personally I took breaks after every chapter or when I was raging at the rhythm minigame (I had the minigames on hard at first, don't repeat (pun not intended) my mistake).
If you try out this method please let me know how it went. I'm really curious to see if this method is bearable for most people or I am so obsessed with Utapri that I will do anything to consume content for it.

every couple of days i go back to the idea of a small bundle of utapri boys perform a play about gay vampires and these two decide to go on a date to improve the authenticity of their roles’ romantic chemistry
from a standpoint this sounds like a concept that’d probably be used in shipping and stuff but like the only time i’ve ever seen it be a thing is victorious and that’s really it
and a3 too i guess if you’re able to stretch the “constant time-looping until you two finally get along” concept far enough that you could consider it to be a date
on a side note i really like using my mock-up of the shining live text box to make up these scenarios

Heavens' Paradise Lost: Their biblical counterparts part 1
Not a lot of people know this from me, but I was raised as a Christian girl, nowadays I still believe in God, but I'm not used to do more stuff on the religion since I actually got more intereses and I grew up over time.
Heavens' Paradise Lost has given me a lot to think from them as it was my first ever Utapri drama cd I saw and to say it impacted me is just saying something, so to share my knowledge about some of the angel stuff I have received (read as: I just went to wikipedia for their names) I wanted to share the biblical counterparts/namesakes for the Heaven characters here as a summary
Beside You can be found here
Lucifer
Tumblr media
Lucifer is the Latin name for the morning appearances of the planet Venus. It corresponds to the Greek names Phosphorus Φωσφόρος, "light-bringer", and Eosphorus Ἑωσφόρος, "dawn-bringer". The entity's Latin name was subsequently absorbed into Christianity as a name for the devil. Modern scholarship generally translates the term in the relevant Bible passage (Isaiah 14:12), where the Greek Septuagint reads ὁ ἑωσφόρος ὁ πρωὶ, as "morning star" or "shining one" rather than as a proper noun, Lucifer, as found in the Latin Vulgate. The word "Lucifer" appears in The Second Epistle of Peter (2 Peter 1:19) in the Latin Vulgate to refer to Jesus. The word "Lucifer" is also used in the Latin version of Exsultet, the Easter proclamation.
The metaphor of the morning star that Isaiah 14:12 applied to a king of Babylon gave rise to the general use of the Latin word for "morning star", capitalized, as the original name of the devil before his fall from grace, linking Isaiah 14:12 with Luke 10 ("I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven") and interpreting the passage in Isaiah as an allegory of Satan's fall from heaven.
Considering pride as a major sin peaking in self-deification, Lucifer (Hêlêl) became the template for the devil. As a result, Lucifer was identified with the devil in Christianity and in Christian popular literature, as in Dante Alighieri's Inferno, Joost van den Vondel's Lucifer, and John Milton's Paradise Lost. Early medieval Christianity fairly distinguished between Lucifer and Satan. While Lucifer, as the devil, is fixated in hell, Satan executes the desires of Lucifer as his vassal.
Lucifer is regarded within the Latter Day Saint movement as the pre-mortal name of the devil. Mormon theology teaches that in a heavenly council, Lucifer rebelled against the plan of God the Father and was subsequently cast out. The Doctrine and Covenants reads:
"And this we saw also, and bear record, that an angel of God who was in authority in the presence of God, who rebelled against the Only Begotten Son whom the Father loved and who was in the bosom of the Father, was thrust down from the presence of God and the Son, and was called Perdition, for the heavens wept over him—he was Lucifer, a son of the morning. And we beheld, and lo, he is fallen! is fallen, even a son of the morning! And while we were yet in the Spirit, the Lord commanded us that we should write the vision; for we beheld Satan, that old serpent, even the devil, who rebelled against God, and sought to take the kingdom of our God and his Christ—Wherefore, he maketh war with the saints of God, and encompasseth them round about."
—Doctrine and Covenants 76:25–29
Belial
Tumblr media
Belial is a term occurring in the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament which later became personified as the devil in Christian texts of the New Testament. Alternate spellings include Baalial, Balial, Belhor, Beliall, Beliar, Berial, Bylyl and Beliya'al. In the Secret Book of John, an early Gnostic text, the ruler of the underworld is referred to as Belias.
Belial is a Hebrew word "used to characterize the wicked or worthless". The etymology of the word is often understood as "lacking worth", from two common words: beli- (בְּלִי "without-") and ya'al (יָעַל "to be of value").Some scholars translate it from Hebrew as "worthless" (Beli yo'il), while others translate it as "yokeless" (Beli ol), "may he have no rising" or "never to rise" (Beli ya'al). Only a few etymologists have believed it to be an invented name from the start.
The Jewish Greek Septuagint, later the Old Testament of the early Christian church, generally renders the "sons of Belial" verses in the Hebrew Bible either as "lawless men", by idioms "sons of the pestilence", rather than a personal name "sons of Belial"
Azazel
Tumblr media
In the Hebrew Bible, the name Azazel represents a desolate place where a scapegoat bearing the sins of the Jews was sent during Yom Kippur. During the late Second Temple period, Azazel came to be viewed as a fallen angel responsible for introducing humans to forbidden knowledge, as described in the Book of Enoch. His role as a fallen angel partly remains in Christian and Islamic traditions.
In older English versions, such as the King James Version, the phrase la-azazel is translated as "as a scapegoat"; however, in most modern English Bible translations, it is represented as a name in the text:
"Aaron shall offer the bull as a sin offering for himself, and shall make atonement for himself and for his house. He shall take the two goats and set them before the Lord at the entrance of the tent of meeting; and Aaron shall cast lots on the two goats, one lot for the Lord and the other lot for Azazel. Aaron shall present the goat on which the lot fell for the Lord, and offer it as a sin offering; but the goat on which the lot fell for Azazel shall be presented alive before the Lord to make atonement over it, that it may be sent away into the wilderness to Azazel." - Leviticus 16:6–10

Note
It was midnight when I saw the release on my time zone, but I fell asleep afterwards bc the download took so long lol
When I woke up I downloaded the translation apps(bc my japanese is pretty bad heh) but none recognized Live Emotion, do you know why that happened?
But I gotta say, I'm so happy to play utapri again, even if I can't understand a lot of what's going on on the screen I'll screenshot everything and translate after if necessary
Natsuki I missed you so much !!!!
*Edit: Apparently it could be something to do with the Gaming Mode on your phone! Although I'm not sure what exactly to change to fix it, but maybe look into that.
Damn I'm sorry the translation options weren't working for you, I'm not sure why that might be. It could be a device, settings, or update issue. You can always try an app and device restart.
From the ones I've tested, I think Instant Translate on Screen is the one I'd recommend for now. For me it is perfectly recognising Live Emotion text, and it doesn't seem to have ads which puts it above the others. The translations certainly aren't perfect though. There is a premium version which will auto translate, but the free options for global translate, region translate, and just dragging the overlayed icon to the text has worked well enough for me.
Open the app
Get out of the premium popup
Change 'Translate from' language to Japanese
Tap the power button below and allow the app access
Open live emotion
Should be a white semi circle somewhere on the edge of your screen. If you tap on it, it will open a menu with the different translate options.
Or you can drag the icon over text you want translated.
iOS and Android both have a feature when you take a screenshot to highlight and translate text in the image, but of course that leaves you with hundreds of screenshots.
Another general tip: if youre going through the story and are using a translation app that has ads every 15 or so uses, then you can use the 'log' function top right to show the four most recently said lines, and use the app to translate that screen instead of one by one (so you have less uses, and longer between ads)
