I'm not really a missile guy, but the Naval Strike Missile (RGM-184A) is one of the fakest looking cruise missiles ever designed. Gives me upside-down IKEA cabinet vibes.
Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Fitzgerald (DDG-62) launching RGM-184A Naval Strike Missile (NSM) for the first time from the AB-class during the exercise RIMPAC 2024, July 18, 2024.

i would be super interested in hearing more about michigan bc i live up north ^.^ thanks for making that post, i didn't grow up here so i hadn't heard that legend before!!
Up North
apologies in the delay.
"Up North" in itself is such a liminality. ask a michigander where in the state the landscape turns into "Up North" (bonus points if you get them to point out places on their map-hands) and you'll probably get a different answer from everyone. Up North becomes analogous for the old ways-- an escape from Life and the sales tax of living it, diving headfirst into the woods just like the perfect arc you practiced on the dock behind your grandparents' cottage every summer. it's an encounter with the Lakeshore, because when you're Up North you have your pick of small seas to commune with. it's also foggy dawn meadows, and barren lonely winters, and small gas stops on a rural corner, and bears, and cougars, and wolves if you're lucky, and yes the fucked up deer. Up North has a smell, and honestly it's probably just fresh air. you live in a land of conservatives, anon, but also of wonder. keep your wits and learn its ways!!
anyway, speaking of lakes. as I said you could honestly reside anywhere in half of the state, so I'm electing to go Way Up North until I hit the beastly Lake Superior (gichi-gami in ojibwe). when you speak on her, you cannot help but let a certain reverence enter your voice. she's the deepest lake on the continent and holds 10% of the world's fresh water, and we have a saying about her:
Lake Superior never gives up her dead.
she's cold. most plants and animals don't survive on the bottom. it's the land of sponges and darkness. it's too cold for bacteria, so when a soul ends up down there, it stays there. if you aren't aware of the wreck of the edmund fitzgerald (rip gordon lightfoot) give it a listen if you want a good sea ballad. something similar happened to the USS Kamloops, and her captain went down with the ship. he remains preserved in the wreck to this day and can only be visited by expert divers. Superior has claimed an estimated 10000 lives, and many of those bodies are never seen again. she acts as psychopomp, a void you can slip into on a warm summer day. the deep water has long been associated with death energy-- in my personal practice I link waters in helping to venerate my ancestors and commune with certain deities. how would you use Her water and Her stones? when you greet Her after dark, and face the roaring yawn of the dark surf with no opposite shore, what do you hear within yourself? do you acknowledge the death She wears on a proud brow while birthing life out on the windswept shores? what would you consecrate in Her waters? yourself?
high summer is coming for us, anon. I suggest you hit the lake if you can, any one will do 😊
(I intend on writing more about Michigan craft and lore when I have the time but lmk if anyone is interested in that in my asks because hearing encouragement is nice lol)

I’m really not picky with my sweet treats! I can’t say I have a favorite- I like so many different things and I don’t want the same stuff over and over! Rootbeer floats mean something special for me now though; Guru bought me one the first time we met up ❤️
Three facts about me? Hmmm 1. My love for ships actually started with the Edmund Fitzgerald and not USS Wisconsin or USS Wolverine 2. I’m not just Christian but I’m somewhere under the reformed umbrella between orthodox presbyterian and reformed Baptist- I don’t need a perfect label though 3. I’m extremely loyal- often to my detriment.

Thank you BM2 Fitzgerald for giving us an inside look into one of the most complex operations we conduct aboard Ford.

Britannia Beach, British Columbia, Canada. Helpful•8. ...
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Helpful•7. ...
British Columbia, Canada. Helpful•3. ...
Canada. Helpful•3.
Britannia is one of the Cunard line boats and it is one that is also made out of Thorium. The metal has never been named no it has but not until recently did it was it called thorium and it's because I was seeking something like it and the two made it and I was astonished and they named it after me because I'm the strongest metal they know. And it's true too he says I don't really falter and thinking and have a heart and with time the strength grows but boy these people push people around they're getting pushed around you see and it does so much they can't tell and Max are doing a bunch of it you all kind of get together but they think they're starting for stuff I guess is a bit tricky so we're going ahead with this and it's called that because this is where the movie Pathfinder takes place and it's named after the satellite that went to Mars and that's what they're thinking of and dreaming of when my Mac is planning and it's a wicked plan it's big it's large it was a lot of people and it's comprehensive but they still have hope and this is where you need to bring the buildings and they're going to.
Part of the reason is that I think we bring the AMC cars and truck up there and that they sell them up there and people go up there and are interested. Mac and Ben are walking by and they were recently on TV and they found PG with the dogs and freed them and they were involved in it but found out that he knew about it and the dogs were healthy and we're not marked or injured and he heals them pretty good and the fights are mild and he did it on purpose. It's showing people their style and one of them got mauled by a tiger and it's true you got killed and that was Ben Arnold and it's how it goes with Mac I guess. And he's saying something about it supposedly our son is messing with Chinese motorcycles but it's not the case they're happy with it and you're selling them and yeah tonight is the debut of the Tron light cycle car and it's the one that Ray drives in the movie trying legacy and she hasn't done yet and it could be CGI a lot of people think that's how and send back an image and someone duplicates it and you can almost do it perfectly and here it is I can't wait for this Viking ship to come back the name of his ship is similar to Pathfinder and it's because of this event and so people can find their path and it's in the Bible and it has to do with his brother. The name of friendship is hidden in the movie and the Indian tribe actually finds it and they're able to flee with it and they leave and they go down there and they bring a whole fleet with them a huge fleet and survivors and BG got the idea to try and get the Titanic up the Lusitania Britannia the Queen Elizabeth too and the Queen Elizabeth 1 and more and they're all the same type of vessel and the ship USS Fitzgerald and it still sits in the Great lakes the ships need to come out before they drop or they may be lost or badly damaged and we have a method we definitely help restore them and the ships will be bound for Australia and New Zealand there's several other vessels that are tugboats and accompanied them the downeaster Alexir. You told Aaron the USS Constitution has magical properties and he went and looked and he couldn't tell he's been looking for years brought magnets and it felt a little different but not much and he figured out something with iron it should clean like madness and it doesn't and he started to lose his nerve and thought maybe I'm getting zapped and it was hard for him but now he sees it and it's amazing and Dave warned him the magic is tempting but he said we have to let him destroy them if something happens to me.
God bless you all my people and thank you for listening I see you signing on tons of your signing up and I do see we put the credo into effect and now we're going to do it on the grand scale and we have the staff
Thor Freya
He and she approve it and I'm going to Olympus now
Will readily waiting and we will read it and we'll see it and we're going to go forwards and yes we agreed on a CREDO and it will be written and it will be inside everybody's cap and hat helmet and more and then everybody's heart
Olympus
