semi hiatus

hey my loved ones, your girl here has got a pretty severe case of conjunctivitis, so, for obvious reasons being on my PC/mobile hurts as heck. I’ll be back by next week, luckily. my girlfriend told me she loved me after our two month anniversary and i grabbed my clothes and snuck out her window while she slept peacefully, thinking of the person she gave her heart to.

i moved like a thief in the night. slinking in the shadows and hiding from whatever light shines our way, and her smile when she said 'i love you' was so bright that i worried it'll leave me exposed while i’m making my grand escape.

i blocked her number. colored my hair and changed my piercings and pretended i didn't see her calling out to me from the other side of the quad. told all my friends that we were never together and that i’m not hurt. told all her friends that i need my stuff back. told strangers that i loved them, until i could say i love you and not doubt it because repetition breeds familiarity and familiarity is comfort and comfort is being in love with her

because how do you explain to people that sometimes you love someone so much that leaving them is the only thing that makes sense because you're not used to it. you're used to giving and giving and giving until you're bleeding out on the floor. you're not used to morning kisses or heartfelt confessions, and you want to be. i should be working on it. i am working on it.

tomorrow i shall go to her and kiss her and ask her whether she’ll be okay with my hair in peppermint green or periwinkle blue or sireny red, and i won’t ask her to stay. maybe i will. but i will tell her that i love her so much, and that that scares me, but i love her, and somehow knowing that fact makes everything better
