“It is the season….for Jantabread cookies.” Echo pulls out a tray of bear-shaped gingerbread cookies. It is her original creation, cut in the form of a doll she once owned. Their frosted faces even wore the same droopy expression that was Janta’s trademark. For the rest of the month, the cookies would be seasonal desserts sold at Pandora Cafe.

“I baked some extra Jantabread cookies for everyone.” Echo gestures to the stack of gift-wrapped boxes on the counter, four in total. One for each hard-working employee. “Please take a box home, and happy holidays.”

Vincent held his dulled scissors as he wandered through the nearly empty streets, unsure of what to do or where to go. Eyelids drooped as he did, the stress response of Gilbert’s absence and everything that had happened weighing heavily on him.

The twittering of gears echoed quietly as he yawned, ignoring everything happening around him.

Still, he was able to look up before he fell asleep, seeing a familiar face. 

“Oh. It’s you.” It was not Gilbert. Nor Leo. But Reim Lunettes, whom he knew was not particularly fond of him. However, he may have information. The most important information of all.

“Is Gilbert here, too?”

A day out and about usually served Jester well. She was looking for new friends. She skipped her way through the Cotes Ward, her boots softly hitting the concrete of the sidewalk. Oh, she is incredibly impatient. The main things that kinda set her off would be how long it takes for school to finish in the afternoon and rush hour traffic when she's on the bus. Of course, she'll try to keep quiet about how frustrated she is with those two things.

“I am happy to report that our Halloween promotion was a success. Thank you all for your hard work.”

“However, there is also some bad news... the creatures that attacked the city caused damage to the restaurant.”

“We need to replace the broken dishes, chairs, and restore the chipped paint and cracked window. We will be closing up one day to do all repairs.”

Unfortunately after subtracting the total cost of repairs, the extra revenue earned from the promotion came up to zero. But Echo would still count it as a success in spreading the cafe’s name to more people. Most importantly, they weren’t in the negatives.

“Please take the day off to rest. Everyone is safe and well and that is what’s important. Mr. Reim and I will work to make sure that our cafe continues to operate as normal.”
