you basically grew up on the set of avatar the way of water with all the other younger cast members, who practically were family to you at this point

most people try not to play favorites with their friends but you did and tried your best not to reveal to everyone that your favorite was jack. everyone found out anyway even though you thought you were sneaky

but anyways that's not the point

you and jack were "the duo" on set and loved goofing off with each other even though some scenes took longer to film because of this, no one really minded since they all shipped you two

like c'mon you two were so oblivious to the "flirty" side if your friendship that you guys were basically a lost cause

so one day britain, trinity, and jamie decided something needed to happen like cmon the tension was becoming too unbearable 

today you guys needed to film a scene where your character, spider, and the rest of the Sully kids were running around the forest before you guys find the recoms

this scene wouldn't have taken that long if it weren’t for you and Jack

you two were not taking anything seriously, stopping every five seconds because jack would trip you or you would push him into the set structure

and then when james would tell you guys what you needed to improve on the scene, you and jack would be playing roblox or scrolling through memes instead of listening

james had decided you two needed a break because you guys had filmed a lot already and you and jack were not helping get anymore done

so now you and jack were hunched over your phone where you kept making jack try on all these filters and you kept taking pictures for later 

jamie came up behind you two and tapped you and jack on the shoulders that were closest to each other and since you guys were hunched over, you ended up kissing while trying to see who tapped you two

you both froze and quickly moved away from each other, embarrassed

you guys heard cheering behind you and looked to see the rest of the cast even the adults, clapping and cheering, while jamie stood laughing his head off

"im going to fucking kill you!" you yelled at jamie, getting up to chase him

"y/n! i need a dollar for the swear jar since you cursed!" trinity yelled, also laughing while you and jack were chasing jamie around

eventually jack tackled him since there was no way you would actually be able to tackle jamie because of the unfair height advantage 

after jamie was on the ground, jack kept punching him, enough to slightly hurt but not enough to bruise while you held his legs down so he wouldn't kick jack

then you got the idea to steal jamie's phone and quickly took it from his pocket, tugging on jack's arm to tell him "let's go"

you guys ran into one of the storage closets no one uses and sat down, unlocking jamie's phone easily

"so you wanna talk about what happened there?" jack said, playing with your hair as you leaned your head on his chest, scrolling on jamie's phone

hiii aphe i wanted to ask this before i lost the courage so here goes lol

i rlly wanna start writing fics with canon characters and maybe try joing the painfullg small platonic genshin x reader community, but im both for some reasons too embarrassed to write (dont ask i genuinely dont know why, and its only for writing, i love sharing my art) and im not too sure where to start. so i was wondering if you had any advice on how to start writing/tips for writing in general?

HI HELLO of course i have tips 🤭🙏 i won't ask why you feel that way, but i will tell you that feeling like that is really common among emerging writers. it's something i've seen quite often so you're definitely not alone in feeling that way! now, as for my advice...

even if you think it's bad, do your best to get all your thoughts out and onto your page or document. get a beta reader if you're especially concerned about conventions (but don't stress about it too much). this is the phase of writing that i like to call the word vomit phase; nothing makes sense to anyone other than you at this point and that's exactly how it is meant to be. it's important that you don't fixate on your sentences too deeply in this beginning phase because then you might lose motivation, so worry about corrections later down the line in editing.

figure out what point of view feels most comfortable for you. especially important if you plan on joining the reader-insert community. are you a second person pov ("you/yours") kind of writer, as most are? or do you prefer third person pov ("they/theirs/she/hers/he/his")? it just kind of helps to know what you feel most comfortable with, i think, because then you can practice with that and later work on venturing outside of your comfort zone.

write often. one sentence or one hundred sentences a day. it doesn't matter, but write, and do it often. don't feel pressured to actually finish anything all that often, but make sure you're at least adding a few words here and there in a project of yours as often as possible.

read often. this is equally as important as writing often. identify what you like the most about others' writing styles and try to reflect that in your own writing. no, it isn't copying and yes, it is perfectly acceptable; this is how the most talented writers (and even artists in general imo?) learn—through observation. anyone who says otherwise doesn't know what they're talking about fr. 🙏

try to join networks once you're more comfortable posting your writing. hypocritical ass tip, to be honest, because i've recently been having a shy streak making it hard for me to work up the confidence to join new networks... but nevertheless, do as i say, not as i do. networks are a good place to find community and you might even find people who are willing to offer constructive criticism that helps you improve!

have patience and keep practicing. you may or may not be satisfied with the quality of your writing at first, and it's okay if you aren't, but it's important to not be discouraged by that and to keep working at it. there may also be periods where you just don't like your writing at all; it happens to the best of us and it's important to try not to get too frustrated with yourself over it.

character studies are important. get to know the character or characters you are writing for. it's good to look at voice lines or dialogue to see how they talk and act. it helps a lot, i think! and it helps even more to explore their character in your writing. what motivates them? what are they afraid of? why are they the way they are? important questions to answer, and answering them will help you get to know the character you're writing about.

overall, posting writing is just like sharing art. you'll have to have patience when it comes to finding your target audience (...it has taken me FOREVER and my "target audience" is lowkey just my mutuals tbh) and finding your people, but you will eventually.

a lot happened today, good and bad, and im still processing it. but i'll try to retell it all below. warning: this will be long and graphic

major tw for self-harm

so i had class with M and everything was fine, I even got to talk with her a few times which i was really happy about. but later when we were doing our own thing, she got really fascinated with this one student which made me want to cry because i was jealous she was so intrigued and spent so much time with them. this student is also so much cooler than me so i understand why. i got super upset at myself for feeling this way, so with very little thought i left the room to go to the bathrooms and consequently slash my arm up

i had new blades and i was in such a state where i wasn't thinking so i wasn't careful with how i cut, i just wanted to do some damage, and i ended up bleeding much more than i usually would. once i saw how much blood there was on me and on the floor, i realised i had to stop the bleeding and used a bunch of paper towels to make it stop. eventually, unluckily for me, i ran out and spent a long time just rinsing my arm under the water (which in hindsight definitely prolonged the bleeding), but i couldn't go to the next stall for paper since there were people outside and it seemed to keep being taken.

had i not gone in the stall with barely any paper left i probably would've avoided this, but this led to me having to ask the people outside for paper and since i was kind of panicked i was saying i had a medical emergency, so this led to them getting a teacher down to check on me and basically the whole process of first aid coming down to bandage my arm n setting a welfare meeting for another day since this was at the end of the day.

what i didn't expect however was M to come down as well. i felt super embarrassed and ashamed once i saw her face, i didn't know how to react. but once she heard I was harming myself she came in to comfort me, even calling me her 'baby' when coming down and hugging me. i hugged her back tightly and sobbed into her shoulder, it was so comforting.. she has such a motherly charm its crazy. she soon revealed she also used to self-harm, even at work, which made me feel so much more at ease since i felt extremely bad about myself as i feel like i should've grown out of these feelings by now, but i clearly hadn't.

after all the paperwork and talk was done, i went back to her class to get my stuff back and found she edited my work and added her own little charm to it while i was gone (we were just playing around with an editing program) 😭. since everyone was gone by then i asked to talk w her alone and ppl kept coming in the class, so M grabbed my wrist gently and led me out somewhere where only us two can talk

i basically thanked her for her hug and all her kind words, and was sorry that she had to witness me at such a state. following this we talked for a little bit about her own struggles with self-harm and having to be sectioned, and about her thoughts on me which, i wish i could remember all the details, but i was so messed up i only remember it partly. regardless, it was lovely to hear and definitely what i needed at the time.

one of the best parts of this whole aftermath conversation was when i not-so-jokingly said i have mommy issues and she laughed saying "I KNOW" 😭😭😭. i was rlly taken aback by that so i stuttered and asked what made her come to that conclusion, and she basically just talked about stuff like my conservative mother and catholic upbringing which i brought up to her. she later said that she had her own struggles w her daughter and how she kinda sees that in me, to which i hesitantly said "i kinda wish you were my mum" and SHE SAID "me too right now" ?!!??"! IDK HOW I DIDN'T IMPLODE RIGHT THEN..

during this whole conversation we hugged so many more times and it was kinda awkward at one point cuz her lanyard got stuck on my cardigan LMFAO but it was so healing and awesome to talk w her about all this, even if i wish she didn't have to witness any of it. there's so much more i could say but if i gave all the details then this post would be 10x longer. obviously i didn't mention why i cut in the first place, and i'm contemplating even doing so to anyone cuz i don't want her taken away from me.

with all that said despite all the horrible stuff, something good came out of it and i'm grateful for that, although i worry it deepened my attachment to M even further....which honestly was inevitable at this point anyway.

i miss having friends... one thing i miss a lot is having photoshoots and taking selfies w friends. i havent done that in years. maybe 9yrs. i used to do that w my sisters too but not anymore. they just stopped wanting to take pics w me. idk i feel like nobody wants to rmbr my existence and therefore dont want pictures w me. photos are so precious to me. nd yes it does rlly hurt that im not important to anyone. i take many selfies which is conceited to most, but if i dont do that i'll have no pics of me. my sisters take photos w eo nd w mom but not w me. my mom hasnt taken a pic of me in years. everyone, incl friends nd family, always acted like i was bothersome when i wanted to take selfies or pictures :( it's gone as far as me daydreaming abt taking selfies w a friend lmao T-T but irl i'd never even dare suggest it to anyone. the last time i did, i literally almost had an anxiety attack trying to amp myself up nd wanted to cry just asking 'hey can we take a selfie??'. but that was yrs ago. i feel embarrassed nd stupid to even ask. not that i have anyone to ask now. anyway. just makes me very sad, im 25 nd only getting older nd im missing so many years to capture moments. it would just be so fun to have a photoshoot w someone... but idk if i'll ever get to do that again </3

so uhmuhm when placing overlays i think theres like 2ish types ( those being frames nd the other just random decorations nd stuff !! its all kind of vague idk wjdjjsj )

first off i find frames very helpful bc they can block out stuff on the edges to bring attention to the center of the photo or bring attention to one focal point ( same thing w arrows nd random lines nd the like !! ) like these two !!

where uu want ur focal point to be is very important tho !! as a general rule theres a grid on all photos ( IGNORE HOW BAD MY LINES R IM TRYIJG NY BEST I SWEAR JSJDJDJD ) nd i always like to put what i want to be noticed either approx where the grid lines meet or in the center ! thi concept is called the rule of thirds btw !! its used a lot in art nd photography nd stuff for aesthetics nd just the science facts that i forgot

like here i used the lines nd cirlce to bring lots of attention to the center / an ! this is all a matter of preference tho ofc !!!

as for random deco i kind of use the same rule of thirds thing but also it depends on whats in the picture for me !! i kind of try to stick w a few that work well together nd w the img / feelings (?) i want the edit to have !

for example in the an one here i actually added an extra whispy laser line underneath her head to give the edit some more Vibes nd fill up what i felt was a little empty / bring attention to her face once again

visual weight is also a super important thing regarding placement !! sometimes in photos theres a lot of empty space so its easy to get lost in it as a viewer, but on the other hand, there can be too much going on in the photo that uu get overwhelmed ! u can manipulate visual weight in a vast number of way, including adding overlays nd even coloring / lighting !! darker colors / shadows will almost always have more weight than light colors / highlights ( as seen in the middle img ! )

its ok to have an even distribution of weight depending on the edit but i find that having one side heavier than the other helps a lot ! k as seen in the len nd rin edits ) it helps a lot in zeroing in on one spot aesthetically rather than just kind of aimlessly glazing over it

theres also a math side that i cld kind of go into but this is insanely long now nd im lind of embarrassed thay ive been writing this for like 20mins or smth so yeah !! i think thay kind of explains it ??? IT SEEMS KIJD OF CONFUSING SO IM RLLY SORRY WJJSJSJ 😭😭<- if uu need me to clarify pls do ask i have shit explanations
