——— the sun has long since set, but nic is no stranger to the darkness even as his steps fall in line with daeho's. streetlights cast their path in a soft glow and nic's constant stream of thought keeps their walk lively, or at least, nic thinks it does. he realizes he's always been the type to fill the silence.
nic teases, "well? what did you think?" he nudges his shoulder against daeho's as they continue their path towards the apartments. "they were totally flirting with you," he continues, poking his fingers into daeho's side. "did you get anyone's number?" there's a shit-eating grin tracing the lines of his lips, pulling his boyish features out front and center.

it's a small world @usb4 oct 31, ???? / in the maze
he's absolutely too tired for this.
dumb. dumb. dumb. dumb idea to agree to a maze in the dark. dumb idea to say you're going to take the lead in the group of your friends because you could navigate a burning building blindfolded. dumb idea because your friends are not trained to navigate networks of unfamiliar paths and being able to easily self-orient. dumb idea because now you're the one that's separated from the rest of your group. dumb. dumb. dumb.
(way to go, lieutenant, thought this was your full time job?)
it's not a matter of callum being lost now, no — even with the trick mirrors and smoke screens and the dimly lit halls of the re-purposed warehouse turned house of horrors — it's a matter of he is very much separated from his group, and therefore, everyone else must is lost and likely very far behind. at this point, everyone has probably been scattered.
after ten or so minutes of trying three different paths he'd committed to memory with no avail, he decides to wait. not something a firefighter would actually be trained to do in an active fire, but aside from trying to increase his chances of encountering someone from his group staying still, the cheap polyester from his costume nic had spent days convincing him of was becoming all but comfortable under his slacks and dress shirt. again, unnecessary layers — another thing he was not trained to wear. he was never letting him talk him into wearing a costume ever again.
now fifteen minutes into losing his group and growing antsy from wanting to leave, callum decides to wander a few more turns. he makes a deal with himself that if he doesn't run into any friends in the next five minutes that he'd find his way out alone.
suddenly there's immediate impact against another body around a dark turn that catches callum off guard and stammers backwards. "shit, sorry — my bad," he recoils almost immediately from the brute force and reaches out forward to the outline of the figure almost to help stabilize their own posture. he puts a hand on the silhouette when he sees the outline of a man, offering a quick "you good?" before the face registers. "oh, damn, daeho. sorry, man. i shouldn't have taken the corner so sharp."
callum doesn't know too much about the male who funny enough shares the same wall he does back at home, but from what he's gathered about his neighbor thus far, he seems like the kind of guy who knows how to navigate a maze well. at least, that's how he would come across to a firefighter who clearly has failed his own mission. "hey, you didn't happen to run into anybody who said they got separated from their friend, did you?"

› growing together with @usb4 . . . 🌱
the nightclub is filled to the brim - the ground vibrating from the pulsating beats, different colored lights shifting all over the dancefloor as the weekend crowd begins to pile in and the dj works on spinning the hottest tracks. everyone seems to be mingling with one another, laughing and shouting over the music, swaying in small groups to the music. but danbi looks a little out of place among them - dressed in clothes she's not necessarily comfortable with, wearing shoes a little too high and clunky for her liking, and holding two drinks in her hands that are not her own.
she blinks, feeling a little disoriented with how she's gotten herself into this situation. after all, when the other girls working the customer service desk at fresh fields kept raving about how fun it would be for them to spend time together outside of work . . . well, she didn't think that would be at a club. and she didn't think that they would have handed their drinks off to her the second a group approached them to dance, calling over their shoulders for her to watch them. but danbi didn't want to be a wet blanket, and she didn't want to deter the others from having fun, so she simply nodded and flashed them a smile as they disappeared into the crowd.
"oh, i'm sorry," she says instinctively when someone bumps into her on their way to the dance floor, them looking at her a little oddly as she just stands there at the entrance of it. she takes a step back, nearly knocking into someone else in the process. "oh, sorry!" she's quick to apologize again, turning and deciding it's probably best for her to get out of the way. her orbs scan the club for a safe space to stand before settling on the bar up ahead, the corner of it unoccupied and with little traffic.
"phew," she lets out a soft sigh once she reaches her destination, placing the two drinks up on the bar top. she fishes around in her clutch for her cell phone, quickly checking the time. 9:56pm. she had a feeling it was going to be a bit of a long night.

insu liked feeling useful, though he would rather die then ever admit such a thing out loud. when daeho asked if insu was free to help him run a errand, he allowed himself to pretend to mull over it for one, long minute before agreeing. aside from wanting to feel useful, he actually enjoyed daeho's company. despite his shallow, shameless flirting at the bar he met him at, their friendship was casual and calm, overall. insu could even say it was soothing to have the bartender around. insu didn't have to fill the space with yapping to be seen, to feel heard, and sometimes he just needed that.
as it stood, all this lead to where they are now. he easily has the door open for daeho to slide into his pride and joy—his cherry red vintage sports car that he's been painfully customizing over the past three years. he contemplates snatching off his (utterly distasteful, honestly) playboy air freshener off his rearview mirror for a beat before deciding that daeho has probably, arguably, seen worse while working at illusion and leaving it there.
as he starts the engine and quickly flips down the visor to check how he looks in the mirror, he can admit to himself that he thinks this would at least be a good way to spend quality time together. insu didn't have many friends—introverted by nature despite how he appeared to many people. those he felt he could keep close he held onto, more then ready to jump if they need him. daeho was starting to become a friend like that in some capacity.
once he was sure daeho was good to go he pat the dash of his car gently as if she was a baby. "alright melissa, let's take it nice and easy today. don't be too feisty and scare our guest," he cooed at it and then leant back, easily taking the wheel in one hand and peering over to daeho as he finally switched gears and pulled out the parking lot. "so explain the whole package situation to me again. what, did they just not deliver it or something? or just couldn't get their head outta their asses long enough to find your apartment?"

「 . ♡. * . ˚ 」 → june stumbled onto the elevator with her stilettos in hand. it had been a long night. between a bout of crying to a fellow club goer and pretending that she wasn't in some sort of emotional turmoil, she'd found herself drinking and dancing as if nothing mattered. this left her feet feeling like someone had taken a hammer to them which meant that her shoes came off as she walked barefoot through the apartment lobby. now, as she leaned against the wall of the elevator hooking her heels over the small handrail to let them hang there, she pressed the button for her floor only then noticing another had been pressed. she slowly turned looking around the elevator for her fellow rider, offering a giant smile when her eyes finally met the other.
"hi! are you a night owl, too? i feel like i've seen you before. have i? maybe i have sorry if i don't remember. you live here, right? me, too! i'm june. it's nice to properly mee-" she's not done with her sentence as the elevator which had been on an upward trajectory shook from side to side. her eyes widened and she let out a small shriek grabbing the handrail of the elevator. "woah-" she said quietly as the lights flickered and a sudden realization hit her. "we're not moving..."

The way we interact with technology is constantly evolving. Gone are the days of clunky desktops chained to desks. Today's users often juggle multiple devices, from laptops for work to tablets for entertainment. But seamlessly transferring files, sharing peripherals, and mirroring screens between separate computers can be a frustrating and time-consuming process. Enter Intel's groundbreaking Thunderbolt Share technology, promising a future of effortless multi-PC collaboration. Intel's Thunderbolt Share Unveiling Thunderbolt Share: A Game-Changer for Productivity Thunderbolt Share is a revolutionary software application designed to transform the way users interact with multiple computers. Developed by Intel, this innovative tool leverages the high bandwidth and low latency of Thunderbolt 4 and 5 connections to create a seamless, single-device experience. Imagine effortlessly dragging and dropping files between your work laptop and home PC at blazing-fast speeds. With Thunderbolt Share, this becomes a reality. But functionality extends far beyond file transfers. Share your keyboard, mouse, and other USB peripherals between two connected PCs, eliminating the need for duplicate setups. Need to collaborate on a project? Mirror your laptop's screen onto a larger desktop monitor connected to another PC for enhanced visual clarity. All this happens with minimal latency and impressive 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second, making real-time collaboration a breeze. Thunderbolt Share: Unlocking Seamless Connectivity Thunderbolt Share is a software application that resides on top of the existing Thunderbolt hardware capabilities. it's weird how desktops aren't a thing anymore? right now i'm fighting for my life to get away from USB. fighting for my life to find firewire equipment that's still supported. fighting for my life to find decent serial ports. fighting for my life to find a MIDI interface that doesn't crash unpredictably. fighting for my life to have an uptime of months instead of hours and all the ridiculous crashes the USB subsystem causes. fighting for my life to access storage at the block level without being stuck with my internal drives. fighting for my life for a monitor output that isn't also USB. fighting for my life trying to find any equipment that takes its basic functioning seriously and doesn't railroad me into the worst connection standard to exist.
Fighting for my life trying to find a phone or tablet with a headphone jack. Fighting for my life trying to find a laptop with a cd rom. Fighting for my life trying to get more than one usb port or, god forbid, an hdmi. Fighting for my life trying to find any electronics that haven't been streamlined into flimsy chastity belts with the structural integrity of a sopping sheet of paper which require me to buy 3 extra devices (each with their own separate charging requirements) all because some silicon valley jackass somewhere decided holes were a bad thing.
