Many people, especially USAmericans, are very resistant to knowing the plants and living according to the ways of the plants. They lash out with a mix of arrogance and fear: "Don't you know what bad things would happen if we lived a different way? There is a REASON for living this way. Would you have us go Back—backward to the time without vaccines or antibiotics????"
Ah, yes, the two immutable categories that all proposals for change fit into: Backward Change and Forward Change! Either we must invent a a futuristic, entirely new solution with SCIENCE and TECHNOLOGY that further industrializes and increases the productivity of our world, or we must give up vaccines and antibiotics and become starving illiterate medieval peasants.
Every human practice anywhere on Earth that has declined, stopped, or become displaced by another practice, was clearly objectively worse than whatever replaced it. You see, the only possible reason a way of life could decline or disappear is that it sucked and had it coming anyway!!! Pre-industrial human history is worthless except as a cautionary tale about how miserable we would all be without *checks notes* factories, fossil fuels and colonialism. Obviously!
Anyway, who do you think benefits from the idea that pesticide-dependent, corporate-controlled industrialized monoculture farming liberates us all from spending our short, painful lives as filthy, miserable peasants toiling in the fields?
First of all, I think it's silly to act like farming is a uniquely awful way to live. I can't believe I have to say this, but the awful part of being a medieval peasant was the oppression and poverty, not the fact that harvesting wheat is a lot of work and cows are stinky. Same goes for farm labor in the modern USA: the bad part is that most people working farms are undocumented migrant workers that are getting treated like garbage and who can't complain about it because their boss will rat them out to ICE.
Work is just work. Any work has dignity when the people doing it are paid properly and not being abused. Abuse and human trafficking is rampant in agriculture, but industrialization and consolidation of small farms into gigantic corporate owned farms sure as hell isn't making it better.
Is working on a farm somehow more miserable than working in a factory, a fast food restaurant, or a retail store? Give me a break. "At least I'm not doing physical labor in the sun," you say, at your job where you're forced to stand on concrete for 8 hours and develop chronic pain by age 24.
When you read about small farmers going out of business because of huge corporations, none of them are going "Yay! Now that Giant Corporation has swallowed up all the farms in the area, we can all enjoy the luxurious privileges of the industrial era, like working RETAIL!" What you do see a lot of is farmers bitterly grieving the loss of their way of life.
And also, the fact is, sustainable forms of polyculture farming that create a functional ecosystem made up of many different useful and edible plants are actually way MORE efficient at producing food than a monoculture. The reason we don't do it as much, is that it can't be industrialized where everything is harvested with machines.
Some places folks are starting to get the idea and planting two crops together in alternating rows, letting the mutualistic relationship between plants boost the yields of both, but indigenous people in many parts of the world have been doing this stuff basically forever. I read about a style of agroforestry from Central America that has TWENTY crops all together on the same field.
Our modern system of farming is necessary for feeding the world? Bullshit! Our technology is very powerful and useful, but our harmful monocultures, dangerous pesticides, and wasteful usage of land and resources are making the system very inefficient and severely degrading nature's ability to provide for us.
What is needed, is a SYNTHESIS of the power and insights of technology and science, with the ancient wisdom and knowledge gained by closely and carefully observing Nature. We do not need to reject one, to embrace the other! They should be friends!
Our system thinks land is only used for one thing at a time. Even our science often thinks this way. A corn field has the purpose of producing corn, and no other purpose, so all other plants in the corn must be killed, and it must be a monoculture of only corn.
But this means that the symbiosis between different plants that help each other is destroyed, so we must pollute the earth with fertilizers that wash into bodies of water and cause eutrophication, where algae explode in number and turn the water to green goo. Nature always has variety and diversity with many plants sharing the same space. It supports much more animal life (we are animals!) this way. The Three Sisters" are the perfect example of mutualism between plants being used in an agricultural environment. The planting of corn, beans, and squash together has been traditionally used clear across the North American continent.
And in North America, the weeds we have here are mostly edible plants too. Some of them were even domesticated themselves! Imagine a garden where every weed that pops up is also an edible or otherwise useful crop, and therefore a welcomed friend! So when weeds like Amaranth and Sunflower pop up in your field, that should not be a cause for alarm, but rather the system of symbiosis working as it should.
A field of one single crop is limited in how much it can produce, because one crop fits into a single niche in what should be a whole ecosystem, and worse, it requires artificial inputs to make up for what the rest of the plant community would normally provide. The field with twenty crops does not produce the same amount as the monoculture field divided in twenty ways, but instead produces much more while being a habitat for wild animals, because each plant has its own niche.

How Green Energy Helps Fund Taliban Islamic Terrorists
We have been reporting on how green energy is being used to fund the Communist Chinese.
There is one primary reason and its named is — lithium.
Lithium is a key mineral used to creating green energy and powers all electric vehicles.
The BBC’s Catherine Early who in a November 24th, 2020 article titled The new ‘gold rush’ for green lithium wrote,
Lithium is crucial for the transition to renewables, but mining it has been environmentally costly. Now a more sustainable source of lithium has been found deep beneath our feet. [ … ] The commercial use for lithium in the 21st Century could not be clearer. It is found not only inside smart phones and laptops, but is now vital to the clean energy transition, for the batteries that power electric vehicles and store energy so renewable power can be released steadily and reliably. Demand has soared in recent years as carmakers move toward electric vehicles, as many countries including the UK, Sweden, the Netherlands, France, Norway and Canada announce a phase-out of combustion-engine cars. In fact, five times more lithium than is mined currently is going to be necessary to meet global climate targets by 2050, according to the World Bank. Read more.
Visual Capitalist’s Jeff Desjardins did a series of infographics on lithium and predicted that by 2025 the battery market alone will be almost 2x bigger than the entire lithium market today.
The largest producers of lithium products in 2015 were Chile 37.0%, Australia 33.0%, Argentina 11.0%, China 10.0%, Zimbabwe 3.1%, other 3.3% and the USA 2.6%.
According to the World Economic Forum in January 2023 the largest producers of lithium are: #1 Australia 52%, #2 Chile 25%, #3 China 13%, #4 Argentina 6%, #5 Brazil 1%, #6 Zimbabwe 1%, #7 Portugal 1%, #8 The United States 1% and lastly the rest of the world with 0.1%
Lithium Funding Islamic Terrorists
In a July 21, 2023 FrontPage article titled “‘Green Energy’ Will Be Powered by Taliban Lithium” Daniel Greenfield reports,
One of the sales pitches for electric cars and assorted green energy projects was that we’d at least be able to unplug from Middle Eastern oil. But instead, we’ve become dependent on the Saudis anyway (the Saudis own 5% of Tesla) and, more crucially on China which sells us the junk solar panels and the rare earth metals (obtained through incredibly dirty mining processes that have devastated lakes and poisoned entire villages) to power the ‘clean’ revolution of ‘green energy’. Now, topping all that, since the United States failed to develop the lithium mines in Afghanistan and since Biden refuses to mine any at home, the Taliban and Communist China will profit from every garbage electric car that the lefties force down our throats in the name of their hoax environmental crisis. Save the planet, fund Islamic terrorism.

Remember, buying in bulk is cost-effective and ensures you never run dry during peak hours.
Ensuring the Longevity of Your Reusable Hemp Straws
Maintaining reusable hemp straws is a straightforward process, but it requires attention to detail. The steps outlined here will help ensure that your eco-friendly alternative to plastic straws remains durable and effective for multiple uses.
1. Cleaning with Cold Water
The first step in caring for your hemp straw involves proper cleaning after each use. Unlike traditional materials like metal or glass, hot water can weaken the tensile strength of hemp fibers over time, leading to early degradation.
To avoid this issue and prolong their lifespan, always wash these sustainable alternatives with cold water immediately after usage. EcoStraw’s guide on care instructions provides more detailed information about washing techniques specifically tailored towards preserving natural fiber integrity while ensuring cleanliness standards are met at all times.
2. Opting For Natural Detergents
In addition to using cold water during cleansing procedures, the choice of detergent plays a pivotal role in maintaining the overall quality of the product. Harsh chemicals found in some commercial cleaners may adversely affect the taste as well as the structure of the material, thereby compromising the user experience and sustainability goals alike. Therefore, opting for gentle soaps combined with soft brushes is the ideal method for removing any residue from drinks without causing harm to the earth-friendly alternative’s functionality or form, thus guaranteeing optimal performance in every single instance with minimal environmental impact.
Tips For Effective Storage Of Hemp Straws
Before long-term storage, clean the straws using a gentle soap and soft brush to prevent deterioration. Firstly, make sure to clean them thoroughly using the aforementioned procedure prior to storage. Clean the items first, then store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity to prevent mold growth. Finally, pack them loosely in breathable containers to allow airflow and circulation, preventing the build-up of condensation inside the package. Ultimately, the goal is to preserve their original properties to the maximum extent possible and continue to provide excellent services to customers without fail. Remember, the ultimate objective behind adopting sustainable practices is to contribute to a healthier planet for
Key Takeaway:
Preserving your hemp straws is as easy as pie. Just remember to wash them with cold water, use natural detergents, and store in a cool, dark place. This way you’ll keep these eco-friendly sippers top-notch while helping Mother Earth breathe easier.

The US plastic-to-fuel market's development is anticipated to be constrained by the high setup costs. Pre-processing used plastic garbage is still another significant element that raises the whole cost presenting a major challenge for the US plastic-to-fuel market growth in US as well as other parts of the world. Moreover, the plastic fuel business will soon see rapid growth because of the favourable regulatory framework that the international organizations and local politicians are creating.
However, a number of factors, such as feedstock contamination, process choice, etc. may affect how much fuel is produced. Due to increased concerns about high-quality & sustainability among plastic makers, many plastic-to-oil producers are concentrating on employing advanced machines which is boosting the industry's popularity of liquid fuel.

Crude oil and diesel are the two major sub-segments of the fuels generated by conversion technologies, with crude oil projected to have the largest market share in the coming days. Benefits of Corrugated Packaging is Made of Recycled Materials
Tumblr media
Using corrugated packaging made of recycled materials is not only cheaper, it's also environmentally friendly. By recycling your corrugated, you'll be able to reduce your freight and handling expenses, while also reducing the amount of solid waste that's going to landfills. For more info, click here.
Recycling corrugated packaging reduces solid waste disposal
Having a recycling program at your business can help you save money and the environment. You can reduce your waste and cut your monthly garbage bills.
One of the most common forms of recycling is cardboard recycling. Cardboard is a form of paper and has been in use for decades. Cardboard recycling is the process of removing unwanted items from the waste stream and diverting them from landfills. It's simple.
Cardboard recycling takes place in three phases. The first is a collection. The second involves separating recyclable materials from the waste stream, and the third involves the actual recycling process.
Recycling corrugated containers involves diverting old cardboard from the waste stream and compressing the material to create new corrugated packaging. It's also important to ensure the material is clean and free of contaminants.
Recycling corrugated containers helps reduce the amount of solid waste in landfills, and it reduces the use of new raw materials. It also helps reduce the need for energy.
It reduces freight and handling expenses
Traditionally, corrugated packaging made of recycled materials has been a preferred option. Using recycled materials reduces the cost of producing the packaging and lowers the environmental impact of making the packaging. It also helps manufacturers meet increasingly stringent sustainability targets.
Corrugated packaging made of recycled materials is becoming more common in the modern e-commerce era. This type of packaging is more durable, stackable and flexible than other forms of packaging. It also protects against damage and shocks and provides structural soundness. Its low cost and flexibility make it a very attractive option for many types of businesses.
It has been estimated that it costs about 50% less to recycle cardboard than to make new packaging. The energy used to manufacture the packaging is also significantly reduced. This helps to reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills.
Another benefit of using corrugated packaging made of recycled materials is that it reduces the amount of fuel used for transportation. In fact, one tonne of corrugated containers can save 6.6 million Btu's of energy and 1.1 barrels of oil.
It's biodegradable
Whether you're shipping a product or packing up your shopping, corrugated boxes are an ideal choice. They provide superior protection for the products they contain and are extremely lightweight, minimizing transportation costs and fuel expenses. They're also recyclable, which makes them a popular choice for businesses.
In addition, corrugated is biodegradable, which means it decomposes in a relatively short period of time. It also is made from renewable resources. In fact, corrugated production is estimated to reduce oil emissions by 60 percent.
According to Global Green USA, the cardboard industry produces about 1.45 million tons of cardboard every year. Aside from being recyclable, corrugated also helps to reduce deforestation. Paper and cardboard recycling is also good for the environment because it reduces energy consumption and energy demands.
In the modern era of e-commerce, corrugated packaging has become a popular choice for retailers. It's easy to recycle and allows businesses to reduce their carbon footprint. It also communicates a company's environmental message.
It's stronger than virgin corrugated
Compared to virgin corrugated, recycled corrugated is a better option for eco-friendly packaging. Recycled materials can be used over and over again without any harmful environmental effects. In addition, recycled materials are stronger. This saves energy and water, and reduces deforestation.
The process of corrugated packaging involves pulping wood fibers and then pressing them on large flat screens. In this process, large quantities of water are used. Recycled corrugated can help reduce water consumption by up to 50%.
Most corrugated packaging is made from a combination of virgin and recycled materials. Some of these materials are chemically treated, while others are not. There are also special coatings that help overcome moisture damage. The end result is a strong, sturdy packaging solution that is not damaging to the environment.
A corrugated box with recycled fibers will be cheaper than one made with virgin materials. However, not every company offers both types. Moreover, the quality of recycled fibers is not guaranteed.

so the core philosophy here is one of a vegan life style where animals are not used in any way for food, fiber, work or otherwise.
However there are several problems with how the "farm sanctuaries" are trying to give an example of an ethical relationship with animals...
First is that they are misleading and sometimes flat-out dishonest about their animals, and it is worse because they are claiming to educate people about farming.
They will claim "We are saving animals from abuse in factory farming being exploited for profit" but often, most of their animals are breeds that are pretty much exclusively used by hobbyists, small niche farmers, or as pets. For example many of these sanctuaries have Vietnamese potbellied pigs, that is definitely the most common pig breed you see there. In the USA (where the posters are) this pig breed is kept as a pet, maybe one or two people have tried eating one, but definitely nobody is "factory farming" Vietnamese potbellied pigs, and therefore it is misleading to tag those posts implying they are being saved from being bacon when they were never going to be bacon.
By the way, "factory farming" is an unspecific term that doesn't mean anything. We should call it what it is: CORPORATE farming. This is what happens in the poultry industry where every stage of the process from hatching to slaughter takes place in giant warehouses owned by a corporation, and only a small handful of corporate executives make the decisions about how the animals are treated.
The most common animal the sanctuaries usually have is goats, which (again speaking of the USA) are a niche and somewhat unpopular agricultural animal commonly kept by hobbyists and small farmers or as pets. I also saw "sanctuaries" with donkeys, miniature horses, llamas, alpacas, and sheep. Except for maybe the sheep, these probably aren't from corporate farms.
Do y'all see why this is so painful to see? The people they are attacking are not the people contributing to all the cruelty and waste of resources of corporate farming—the "sanctuaries" are trashing the few people who can be leading farming in a sustainable direction, and probably the people who are giving the animals the best care, too.
They like to make up lurid descriptions of how brutally an animal was going to be killed before they "saved" it, when they don't know that it was going to be killed at all, let alone in some nonsensical or unintentionally funny way
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Heads chopped off? Thrown in the bin? Imagine someone picking up a newborn calf and putting him in a garbage can
I think the sanctuary saying the goats' heads were going to be chopped off, was the one that liked to say they were "bearing witness" at livestock auctions, which is a sanctimonious way of saying "going to livestock auctions and buying animals."
And I understand why someone would want to stop animals from getting killed for food, and I respect it even if I don't agree that it's a moral necessity, but when it comes to keeping animals for wool or milk, it is possible to do that without any death or mistreatment being involved.
One of my family's friends who I have known my whole life keeps dairy goats. The babies nurse off the moms until weaning, there's enough milk left over for the human caretakers, and the males are not killed, they are either sold as breeding bucks or castrated and sold as pets (Nigerian Dwarfs are the size of a medium dog, and make pretty good pets). You wouldn't even have to keep them as pets. Goats are so useful for clearing invasive species, people make money renting their goat herds out to people and letting them just MUNCH. It is much more sustainable than fossil-fuel-powered machinery. It's a real thing! It's not a fantasy or a trick, it's a real fact that this can be done, and if you are tempted to complain that it isn't "commercially viable..." WHY? Why is it not commercially viable?
(By the way...using donkeys, mules, or draft horses for work, is much more sustainable and far less damaging to the ecosystem than using heavy machinery.)
If you hate corporate farms, the most powerful thing you can do is probably support local small farmers and gardeners in your community, or learn to be a caretaker of animals and/or plants yourself. It doesn't matter much to the corporation, but it matters a LOT to the small farmer...and to you!
As for whether wool can be ethical. One of the "sanctuaries" posted the story of an abused llama they rescued. How did the former owners abuse this poor llama?? By NOT SHEARING IT
So my question is, when they sheared the llama, are they just throwing the fleece away...?? Sustainable, warm, biodegradable fiber...??
It is just not a sustainable way of thinking, a philosophy where we are not supposed to "take" or "benefit" from other animals, because how a mutualistic relationship works is that you both take. You both benefit. Even if the animal is doing nothing for you but eat and poop, you can work this into a sustainable system where the animal eats down overgrown areas you want to clear and the manure is used for fertilizer. You can use working animals in a way where they benefit and receive enrichment from the exercise.
And yes, traditionally, animals can convert weeds, inedible grasses, waste parts of your crops, food waste, or pests into food you can eat, whether eggs (you can have healthier heritage breed chickens that don't over-produce eggs), milk, or meat. Killing animals for meat doesn't have to be a part of your system, but it is worthwhile all the same to see in what way predation is a part of Nature's system and how that system works.
I'm still sick and my internet connection here is too bad for me to connect to my Minecraft server, so following my curiosity from the weird scam dog rescue, I have been going through animal-related tags on Instagram and finding a million of "farmed animal sanctuaries"
From one point of view, it's cool that there are places where animals that fall upon bad luck can be sold to have their health needs paid for and live out the rest of their lives.
But from the other point of view, it's infuriating that annoying rich people have started buying land, farm equipment, and animals so they can create a """farm""" that doesn't provide for their needs or any other person's needs, and post pictures of it to Instagram with captions about how cruel farming is and how evil it is to profit off of animals.
These folks buy animals at livestock auctions that require thousands of dollars to pay for their vet expenses, all the while ranting about how evil farmers are for selling the animals

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything about china’s bans on much of US garbage. I pointed out then that we were ill equipped to respond. And now this.
Oh, also, this toxic and likely carcinogenic air pollution hits minority and poor communities the most, bc of course it does.
