˚₊‧꒰ა It doesn’t matter whether you know about him being a Quincy of not, as a gentleman, Uryu will be looking out for you. Be it walking you home, ensuring Hollows weren’t near your house or area, or no one trouble you.

˚₊‧꒰ა Dates with him will be quiet, but memorable. Picnics, visiting the ice-skating ring and watching him effortlessly glide across the ice, library dates, cooking dates, going on walks, even having a sewing course.

˚₊‧꒰ა Study dates are also on the list. He wants to see you do your best and is more than willing to organise binders and cue cards if needed.

˚₊‧꒰ა That’s one thing you must expect when dating him—somewhere along the line, you would pick up sewing tips from him anytime you have tears or holes in your clothes. Though he prefers you inform him so he can whip up something new and fancy (with a cloak).

˚₊‧꒰ა With the expectation of receiving clothes made by him, he can’t resist placing Quincy crosses in discrete places and brushes them off as his signature. “Uryu, what’s this cross?” “…my signature.”

˚₊‧꒰ა As much as we know he has his Quincy pride, part of him feels relieved to have someone who isn’t a part of the whole “superhuman.” You’re his slice of normalcy and someone he cherishes deeply.

˚₊‧꒰ა You will suddenly feel his gaze on you at random times, and should you meet him head-on, a faint blush will appear before he averts his eyes. He likes to admire you in silence and secrecy. Simply observing you in your mundane world of activities gives him a sense of accomplishment—you’re safe and here with him.

˚₊‧꒰ა Every minute spent with you is one he holds near his heart. He loves the fact that it reminds him of what it felt like to be normal without Quincy’s duties to uphold. He probably couldn’t remember what it felt like to live as a regular human who knew nothing about Hollows since he grew up learning about them all his life.

˚₊‧꒰ა At the same time, he feels guilty when he has to step aside to take care of Hollow situations or leave with the gang to help his friends. Every second away from you, feels like he’s losing what it means to be a normal human, and at peace.

˚₊‧꒰ა That’s why, he would back out on missions and leave it to others to handle. He trusted the others to oversee everything and only reached out to him when the situation was grave.

˚₊‧꒰ა You would eventually know about his Quincy background. Probably due to seeing him in uniform or overhearing a conversation and confronting him. He feels guilty that you caught him, and can’t bring himself to lie even when he wants to. At least your acceptance was a breath of relief.

˚₊‧꒰ა He doesn’t often speak about his background or history. Should he inform you of anything, it would be the basics about his abilities, that Hollows were Quincy’s poison and shouldn’t be allowed to exist, hence the reason he hunts them.

˚₊‧꒰ა You would give him support, which only pushes him to protect you all the more. At night when you think he’s sleeping, think again. He’s on your rooftops being your bodyguard.

˚₊‧꒰ა “I heard from Inoue that you spent all night standing guard on my roof?” Teasing about it makes him turn tomato, if you did find out because you would. Uryu can’t keep you hidden from his friends because they will find out and let it slip. They proceed to embarrass him, telling you how he loses sleep over you every night.

˚₊‧꒰ა Speaking about him being a tomato, that image would also appear often should you bring him home-cooked meals or gifts and emphasise that you were thinking about him since he works so hard to keep everyone safe. “Please don’t overdo it Uryu—you’re too hardworking.”

˚₊‧꒰ა “It’s my job as a Quincy to keep you safe, however, I’ll return safely.” Uryu gets softer even though he acts tough when you caution him on being safe and not overworking because you want him to return to you in one piece and alive. “Yes, Mr ‘It’s my job as a Quincy.’ Just come back safely.”

˚₊‧꒰ა Goes into a slight heart attack if he ever heard you were injured. Even if you tripped and stubbed your toe or walked into a wall because you’re clumsy as hell. Do expect a lesson on being more careful as he dresses your injuries.

˚₊‧꒰ა He will go to the ends of the earth to save you from any enemy. There isn’t a situation created, that could hinder him from rushing in to save you. He’ll fight anything and everything.

˚₊‧꒰ა Uryu understands that as a human without powers, you might feel left out and probably unworthy of being with him. To prevent any insecurities from developing, he tells you from time to time how much he appreciates the simplicity of your non-powered nature.

˚₊‧꒰ა “I know you probably feel as though you’re not doing much given your inability to have powers, but I want you to know that your greatest power is the love and support you give me. Thank you.” He’ll whisper to you softly one evening after returning.  

˚₊‧꒰ა He appears quite shy at first when it comes to physical affection since he’s not the physically affectionate type. Staring at your hand and telling himself to hold it or receiving hugs from you. He genuinely wanted to feel the warmth you emitted through touch. That was in the beginning, but once the honeymoon stage was gone, he was confident. He finds the energy you emit to be tranquil.

˚₊‧꒰ა Kisses to your forehead or temple whenever in public and he chooses to be affectionate. Your cheeks would be the closest to your lips he would get, unless you trick him or there isn’t a soul in sight, and he sneaks a quick one. Behind closed doors, he melts.

˚₊‧꒰ა It was hard for him to imagine being someone into cuddling, but he proved to enjoy the gesture more than he likes to admit. It happens in private when he knows the gang isn’t going to randomly pop out.

Let's just say that when he saw you in it, he almost caught a nosebleed and mentally saved the image to make a uniform for you as well—just for matching couple purposes.

He threads his fingers through yours and he squeezes once. You squeeze back. Seeing his reddened knuckles from recent scuffles, you raise your intertwined fingers to your lips to press kisses onto each knuckle as he speaks. A dusting of pink ever present on his cheeks. You swear you could hear his heart beating at the same rhythm as yours is.

He pulls you towards Sakura whose now lounging on the couch. You both were hoping for a relieved Sakura but instead are met with your bicolor haired lover staring daggers into Nirei and his steady grip on your wrist. It was impossible to be that connected to someone. It almost felt like a spiritual connection.

• He probably did not have any filter around you and was not afraid to show you his true colors. He was fine with not being judged as soemone too analytical and detached, for once. He liked the way you made him feel normal.

• He did not let anyone hurt you, or offend you in any way. It did not matter if it was during a fight, or in a more casual occasion. He even snapped at Ichigo out of the blue because he had accidentally spilt some coffee on your papers. You found it odd, of course, but it was sweet at some extent.

• He never failed to notice how beautiful you were. He always thought your appearence whetted his appetites, but he restrained himself from crossing the line of friendship for months. Why? He was frightened by the idea of losing you. What if you didn’t want him back? You two were definitely better off as friends. Or so he thought until something happened.

• Something happened, right. That was Ichigo trying to hit on you. He could not let that happen. Now he was absolutely sure that he could be a better boyfriend material than him, therefore he quickly made up his mind and decided to talk to you. Man on a mission: he interrupted Ichigo’s little speech and literally dragged you away from him.

• He thought it would have been easier for someone like him, so logical and precise. He was so wrong. As you two were alone and he could finally confess his feelings to you, he felt his heart sink into his chest. Oh, damn, your eyes. It was all your cute eyes’s fault. He got distracted! Naturally, he messed up his little mental plan on how to make you understand he liked you. Yet, it was cute.

• “Your eyes are so pretty. They leave me speechless” he simply blurted out, clenching his fists down his sides.

• A long silence followed that as you both blushed and you blinked at him in confusion. Uryuu panicked, of course, and the tips of his ears turned red. He knew words were not his forte at this point and he thought about kissing you instead.

• Yet, you surprised him when you said “I love you too, if that’s what you meant. Your eyes not quite bad too, by the way” you whispered, smiling softly.

• Uryuu smiled weakly and hugged you tightly. Yes, there was no doubt about it. You were definitely his soulmate. But his brain had short-circuited again and you had to clear your throat to remind him that he should have kissed you and not hugged you.

Aizen Sosuke.

• It was love at first sight. Or obsession, at first sight. He believed in that concept, but he never thought it would have ever happened to him. He was too self-centered, affected by his god complex and detached from any human emotion to feel a connection with someone. You were more than his obsession, at first. He was curious about you and how you simply seemed to break his walls and go with his flow without getting cut on his edges.

• As you two spent time together, he started to do some researches about the nature of some spiritual bonds among individuals and he found out that you two were most likely soulmates. What a shock. Aizen knew one thing for sure: if you were his soulmate, he had to have you by his side no matter what.

• ‘No matter what’ was a devious concept for him. Why? He did not care about what was the price to pay to win to you over, he would have done it. Or kidnapped you.

• As he watched you stroll around and talking with Shinji, he definitely uttered something among the lines of “Mine of no one else’s”. That night he trimmed his former Captain’s hair. Not long before that, Shinji became one of Aizen’s victims.

• As you seemed to be naturally drawn to him, though, he simply welcomed you into his life. He loved showing you a little soft side of him no one knew. You spent a lot of time sipping on tea and talking about calligraphy. You were so perfect for him. And he definitely loved it when you got too tired and fell asleep over his shoulder.

• Your natural predisposition for meddling into his business and figuring out his plans made him go crazy and he was soon forced to have a serious talk in the middle of the woods with you. You had stand by his side. If you were soulmates, you would have probably agreed in whatever wicked plans he had. Right?

• “Is this the part where you give me the choice to either follow you, or die right here? Of course I am in” you said, as he confronted you. Oh, the wolfish grin plastered over his face at that point was priceless.

• You were not as cruel as he was. You simply stack by his side and followed his orders, but he tried to keep your hands as clean as possible. After all, a beauty as yourself could not become too blood-thirsty. He did not want you to become as Gin, he was happy with having you glued by his hip.

• His confession was smooth. Right before he tricked Hinamori, he invited you to watch the fireworks together. After all, everybody did it and it would have been simply suspicious not to attend the mundane event. However, as you were sitting on the rooftop next to him, eyes twinkling for the technicolor lights exploding in the night sky, he grasped your jaw rather roughly and kissed you passionately.

• “Did I make it loud and clear?” he simply purred in your ear. Of course not. It was more than enough.

• You caught the eye of this man. He probably wanted to experiment on you at first! Yet, as he studied your features better, he had to admit that you were too pretty for that and… What was that strange attraction he felt towards you? He wanted to know you, to be around you, to study you and not on you. The first thing he did after your first meeting was searching for answers and he got thunderstruck when he found them. He had a soulmate? That was absurd. It was weird thinking that you would have been able to understand him wholly and bear him at his worst.

• Ladies and gentlemen, he tried to be polite. The next day he tracked you down and apologized for his behavior. He told you he did not want to use you as a cavy anymore but that it would have been nice of you to help him understand if soulmates existed. That was his attempt to befriend you and it worked. He did not tell you he suspected you to he his soulmate at first. He did not want to scare you away.

• You two spent most of the time in his laboratory, helping him with his researches or, watching him do them, because he lost his patience over everything. But, eventually, you snapped. You tamed that maniac man by literally yelling at his face to calm down.

• He got offended at first.

• That little voice inside him told him to forgive you right away, though. How frustrating it was!

• After struggling to find a solution to a chemistry problem and you casually walked by dropping the solution, he was left speechless. He spent three alone, in the privacy of his room, to talk to himself about how could someone beat him at his own game.

• Months went by just like that, until you decided to sneak into his private room and rummage through his stuff. Finally, you found a file with your name over it and you were quite shocked to read that you were his soulmate. You planned to make your move on him, since he seemed to be too stubborn to confront you about it. However luck was not in your favor.

• He caught you with the papers in your hands and he fumed in anger.

• You were not even surprised by the argument that followed. It had become amusing at this point. But you knew how to turn the tables in your favor. As he yelled at you, you walked up to him slowly until just mere inches devided your faces.

• “How could you do that? You little—” he ranted, throwing his hands in the air as you simply captured his lips in yours with a kiss. Man, he stopped screaming and turned red from head to toe.

• “Oh. That was so much overdued, actually” he commented, rubbing his chin before kissing you again.

Your skin is beautiful and soft to him, he just can’t get enough of it.. he needs to be in contact with you all the time. For example, he’ll say that you have a hair in your face—when you really don’t— he’ll “move the hair away” and his hands would be lingering on your skin much longer than it needed to be. He’ll then take that moment to place a small kiss on the temple of your head.

He will make sure that nobody has the privilege of being close to you or grow themselves attached to you.

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ If he notices—which he most definitely will- that someone has even expressed a hint of interest towards you, he’ll suddenly whisper into your ear “careful”. That alone sends shivers down your spine, you are aware just how far he is willing to keep you away from anyone else but him.

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ Byakuya hates the feeling of jealousy, he thinks that a man like him should not be feeling jealous of anything or anyone. But he can’t help it when you talk to another man, he’ll suddenly appear beside you, he won’t even speak a word out. He will always interrupt any potential threat on whoever tries to claim you.

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ Byakuya will act like he respects your space and boundaries, it’s not like he doesn’t want to.. he simply cannot understand the concept of it when it comes to you. He will visit your quarters unannounced saying “I came to check up on you.” His visits are short, but they always leave a lingering feeling, a feeling that you seem to not be able to shake off. Even when you think you are alone, he will be watching over you, his presence is never too far from you. Occasionally you’ll catch him on the act and just invite him over.

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ Since this man is always watching over you, like a hawk. He takes notes on what you like and dislike. He notices when you hesitate to do something versus when you do something without hesitation. Every little thing about you is carefully stored away in his mind.

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ Byakuyas love is different, he will isolate you from others, keeping you all to himself. He wants you to need him above anybody else.

If you were to ever show even the slightest bit of doubt or desire to leave him, he’ll emotionally manipulate you. He will remind you just how much he sacrificed for you, how no one else will protect you like the way he does.

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ Byakuya will do whatever it takes to secure your love to him, he will make sure nothing and nobody comes between you two. His loyalty towards you means he will make ruthless decisions to ensure your love and safety. Even if it means hurting others or making dark bargains behind the scenes.

Ichigo

Most likely met through his father, through some obscure medical connection between his father’s clinic and their profession as a researcher.

Ichigo always wondered how someone as smart as them would be friends or colleagues with someone like his dad, but quickly realizes that they can be just as quirky as Isshin sometimes. Making lame jokes, acting erratically. Funny thing is, he finds it a lot less annoying when they do it.

It’s a bit of an awkward road to their relationship, with their age difference and the pre-existing connection to his dad, but they make it work.

Their relationship honestly makes Ichigo think about going into the medical field (which Isshin is over joyed about to pass his clinic on to his son) but it’s a short lived dream.

Ishida

Met at school, while he was studying to become a doctor, and they were studying in their own field.

Being pre-med they had a lot of classes together and would be in lot of the same study groups. It just progressed from there.

They are one another’s support system during this difficult time. Sharing the struggles and successes of wanting to be in a competitive field.

Ishida always supports them. Encouraging them on their path, and even supporting them when they go abroad for their studies for a while. He tells them emphatically that he will wait for them.

˚₊‧꒰ა You are the only person on this earth and in the afterlife who has some leeway to command or ask him for something without being judged on the spot or removed. And believe it or not, Yhwach will simply smile and respond with an “As you wish, my love/dear.”

˚₊‧꒰ა When it comes to being in his presence, you’re the only person who can have the King hovering around 25/8, and it’s not because he wants to have you around, but more wanting to have your undivided attention on him. Often pulling you away from councils to spend time, leaving Jugram to handle it.

˚₊‧꒰ა As the King, the majority, if not all, the noble houses follow his rule. So this invites gifts and the royal treatment. You would like a huge room that connects to a library and a garden? Bet. You wish for diamonds and pearls? Of course! Anything for you once he can display his wealth and power.

˚₊‧꒰ა If you’re a member of the Sternritters, he would prefer to have you assigned close to him at all times wherever he goes. This way, he can protect you from any harm and danger on the battlefield, showing off his grand strengths and feats (gotta make himself look good in your eyes as your protector). He will also assign personal escorts, like Jugram or one of the other Schutzstaffel to keep you safe at all times.

˚₊‧꒰ა In private, you would get to see his domineering aura slip away as he cradles your face, presses soft kisses to your forehead and drapes you in his cloak to keep you warm. His tone softens as you both talk about your future together or as he listens to rambling about some hobby or item you like—making mental notes.

˚₊‧꒰ა He isn’t a man of romantic words—always speaking about the future of the Quincy Empire—but when he does express his heart, which once again includes the empire, he reassures you that there can be no future for the empire if you aren’t at his side. You are his motivation and goal.

𑁍 Jugram Haschwalth — Overprotective Simp

˚₊‧꒰ა He’s like a silent bodyguard HOVERING. He has eyes everywhere on you, and should you mention it, his response is always along the lines of, “It is my duty to protect and ensure your safety, my love. You must be safe at all times.”

˚₊‧꒰ა He’s a man who lives on acts of service and will go out of his way to do almost anything for you, whether it’s your favourite drinks or handling a task that gave you a hard time. He is silent about this, never one to speak about it since he believes actions speak louder than words.

˚₊‧꒰ა Now, we all know this man is stoic and all about propriety, however, you will get the small and meaningful moments when he cracks a genuine smile or holds your hands amidst the crowd. In private, the way he holds onto you as if he’s afraid of losing you brings out his softer side. Holding you close to his chest as he whispers about protecting you from the harshness of the world.

˚₊‧꒰ა “I noticed you were very close and friendly with that person.” Enough said to let you know that he was jealous. Did he need to eliminate someone who thought they had a chance? It was brewing under his skin, itching to claw its way out.

˚₊‧꒰ა But Jugram being Jugram, wouldn’t further elaborate on the statement but rather spend more time with you so you didn’t need to be around the other person. Anyone who believes they have a chance will be receiving a healthy dose of misfortune.

˚₊‧꒰ა Treats you like you’re made of glass. It can be annoying at times because he fears when you have to fight, always jumping in front of an attack to defend you and never letting you get a moment to act independently during a fight. Yet, it is also sentimental when it comes to affection—his touch is tender as though you would break.

˚₊‧꒰ა You once asked him to train you to fight and despite his silent demeanour, you could see the questions floating around his head. “Why? What for? I’m here to protect you, aren’t I? Am I not doing a good job? Did someone harm you?”

˚₊‧꒰ა Will lose his mind (silently) if you ever decide to wear something revealing. It’s worse when you walk around, flaunting how you look as other Sternritters ogle your body in the outfit. He’s ready to pop a vein, and you can feel his intense, cold stare. Bazz-B and Askin make sure to tease him, which earns them glares.

𑁍 Askin Nakk Le Vaar — Playful and Flirtatious Simp

˚₊‧꒰ა This man could never take things seriously and is always up for jokes and games. Very touchy. Always poking, pinching, biting and turning everything into a competition for the sake of laughter and seeing you both happy. Amidst the fun and games, it’s also the perfect opportunity to make himself extra flirty. “Oh, come on, you know you can’t resist my charm.”

˚₊‧꒰ა Eccentric. And you will have to endure his quirkiness which is mostly shown through the gifts he gives you and his sense of fashion. One day he comes in looking like a peacock and the other, a runway model. There’s no in-between with this man. At least you get to raid his extensive collection of shades.

˚₊‧꒰ა Askin is a cool as a cucumber and not interested in sweating over something that isn’t worth his time or effort. This behaviour extended into his approach when it comes to giving you support. He understands your goal is important to you, thus important to him, however, you shouldn’t pressure yourself and over-stress. Take it easy.

˚₊‧꒰ა Not so much the jealous type with his whole laidback personality but doesn’t appreciate when others overlook the boundaries of what should and shouldn’t be. Masks it behind sarcastic remarks and playful banter, it’s obviously clear that he doesn’t enjoy the other person’s proximity. “Who’s the new friend? Should I be jealous and ready to fight?”

˚₊‧꒰ა With all the laidback personality he possesses, he has his degree of protectiveness ready to use. He knows you’re strong and you can handle yourself, but at the same time, he wants to be your protector. “Don’t worry, I’ve got this. Just sit back and enjoy the show.” And then he proceeds to show off.

˚₊‧꒰ა With his unpredictable nature, you can expect to be randomly cheered up or surprised by him in the middle of doing literally anything. He’ll just slide into your room and mumble something about how he brought you a snack, or ‘Let’s go somewhere, I found a cool place.’

˚₊‧꒰ა The best person you have to compliment you. They roll off his tongue like silk, always making you feel pretty and boosting your confidence, even during the most random times. It could be in the middle of a conversation about something he did as a kid, and he’ll stop to compliment your outfit or smile.

𑁍 Bazz-B — Aggressively Passionate Simp

˚₊‧꒰ა The Mohawk King is fiercely protective of you with a high degree of aggressiveness. Will not hesitate to burn someone to cinders if they mess with you the wrong way or come too close for his liking. “If anyone even thinks about messing with you they’ll have to deal with me.” Just kiss his bald spot and he’ll calm down.

˚₊‧꒰ა Passionate when it comes to expressing his love towards you and also every affectionate, physically. He enjoys having you close to him, like glued to his side with an arm around your waist, while he whispers in your ear about how much you mean to him, and he doesn’t hold back with his feelings. It’s as intense as his powers.

˚₊‧꒰ა Listen, you need to know that people will be getting turned into cinders very quickly once they try to get close and comfortable. This does not take away from the affections he chooses to publicly display, like giving you his jacket when it’s cold, holding your hand and rubbing his thumb against your skin, a kiss to your forehead or temple.

𑁍 Ishida Uryu — Gentleman Simp

˚₊‧꒰ა Uryu is so sweet when it comes to you. The way he gently looks at you with such admiration and adoration anytime you’re speaking or helping him is masked perfectly behind his calm appearance, but the eyes never lie. Not around you. He’s much more patient and willing when it comes to you.

˚₊‧꒰ა He would often surprise you with small, thoughtful gifts. Like in winter, he’ll present you with a new custom scarf he knitted. It doesn’t matter if you have fifty million scarves, he still wants to give you the one he made by hand because he cares for you, and it’s better than the others you have.

˚₊‧꒰ა He is a respectful gentleman, never pushing you to do anything your uncomfortable with, and will stand up for you if he notices others forcing you. “If you ever need some time alone or someone to talk to, just let me know. I’ll understand.”

˚₊‧꒰ა You can look forward to his gentle protective nature, always looking out for your safety. If you were walking home late, he might insist on accompanying you. Along the way, he would make some small comments and jokes to bring about a sense of extra security amidst the cold, lonely night. “It’s not safe to walk alone at this hour. Let me walk you home.”

˚₊‧꒰ა He probably hates when Ichigo and the gang are around, given their nature to snoop and learn that he’s crushing on you. They make everything worse, especially Ichigo and Renji who will constantly tease him while telling you all the embarrassing things about Uryu until he decides enough is enough and fires a bunch of arrows at their asses.

˚₊‧꒰ა Given Uryu’s nature to display great levels of respect, he’s someone who gives lots of support and compliments, ensuring that you know your worth and are amazing in his eyes. Paying great attention to details, that way, he is able to assess the situation and know the right words and encouragement to give. “You’re an amazing and strong person. It’s one of the things I admire about you.”

˚₊‧꒰ა You don’t have to worry about jealousy when it comes to Uryu. That was a lie in fact. Uryu would be imagining shooting the person with his arrows like a dart board. He’s similar to his father—not one to come out and admit he’s jealous, but his behaviour would change. Meaning, he becomes more attached even when it seems out of character.

Okay I think Uryu is the quieter one, right? I get them mixed up so I apologize if I fuck this up LMAO

But I think both of them would lowkey like sharing. It's not something they do a ton, but with the right girl they love it. His brother will bring it up and at first you think he's messing with you, but then the look on Uryu's face tells you he's very much into the idea.

Seiryu lowkey takes charge even if you are Uryu's gf. Seiryu will fuck you or eat you out, while Uryu is more focused on your top half. His brother is a little rough and messy with it, but Uryu is more focused and purposeful in his ministrations.

SO while Seiryu is fucking you hard and fast, Uryu is kissing you all deep and slow. Its so different, but they both work together so well. It's lowkey a little disorienting bc Uryu is kissing you stupid that you almost can't think of anything else, but then Seiryu is fucking you so good that its impossible to ignore the way your body is responding.

Wind Breaker Headcanons

Using this prompt here, I’ve written headcanons for the members of Furin! I’ve grown to love them all so damn much and am so excited and happy to write for them. I hope any fans will enjoy the headcanons and that I’ll do the characters justice 😊

HARUKA SAKURA

Do you ever doubt the existence of others than you?

No. I think Sakura is very well aware of the existence of other people. If anything, he’s too attuned to it. He lives in a mixture of fear, defiance, jealousy, and loneliness when it comes to other people. The thing he’s most in doubt about, when it comes to human existence, would be that of his own existence. There have definitely been times when Sakura doubts his own existence or doubts whether he’s okay to exist. We see it in canon, where Sakura says that he’s fought for a long time just to prove the right to exist and to prove, to some extent, his own existence in the world. However, we also see, as things progress in canon, that this has become less of an issue as Sakura finds himself accepted by those around him, part of an actual community and with people who love and support him.

On a scale of 1-5, how afraid of the dark are you?

If the scale works as one being completely unafraid of the dark to five being terrified of the dark, I think Sakura falls somewhere between a 1.5 to a 2. For the most part, being in the dark doesn’t really scare him. He’s not afraid of the dark and he’s mostly unafraid of being alone in the dark. However, there are some situations where some fear does creep in while he’s alone in the dark. Hearing footsteps behind him in the dark and not being able to see the source of the footsteps or there being a big storm going outside and hearing something in his apartment creak really loudly or something fall and bang? Yeah, some fear creeps in at those moments, but it’s not a real strong fear. For the most part, Sakura’s pretty logical about what actually is going on instead of jumping at ghosts or possible attackers. On top of that, even when his mind does go to possible attackers or his house being broken into, he’s more than confident in his own abilities and strength, which leaves him much less afraid than others might be.

Random Sakura Headcanon

We haven’t really gotten to see Sakura’s family situation in canon at all. We’ve been introduced to no parents; we have no idea where he’s getting the money to survive or to have his apartment. We know so precious little of his past. However, I don’t think his past was quite as tragic as Umemiya’s, though part of why Umemiya’s story reached and touched Sakura so deeply was that Sakura saw some of himself in the story. I personally headcanon Sakura’s own parents as being dead, so he’s an orphan as well. However, I think he has family who took him in and do monetarily support him, though they’re not close and his relatives don’t approve of how Sakura chooses to live, leading to them not really communicating at all. His relatives are doing what they feel is their responsibility by paying his way in life until he turns eighteen and then, as they’ve made clear, they want to wash their hands of him and have nothing further to do with him.

AKIHIRO NIREI

What is your favourite word?

It’s really hard for Nirei to choose just one word. Even after a lot of thinking, it comes down to a three-way tie. Justice and Bofurin are obvious ones, for the equally obvious reason. Nirei has always wanted the strength to be able to be a ‘hero of justice’ like others have been for him or to him and when he does get into Furin High, full of people he has idolized, and becomes part of Bofurin, it’s a literal dream come true for Nirei. The third word? Secret! Nirei is someone who is intensely curious and he loves uncovering secrets about people. He’s not sneaky in how he discovers these things – he listens carefully, he asks questions, but he doesn’t break laws or do underhanded things like sneak peeks into people’s private journals. He observes carefully and Nirei has such a reassuring aura anyway that people feel pretty comfortable talking to him and letting him in on their secrets. He won’t betray confidences that others don’t want him to share, but there’s something that just kind of thrills him when he learns something he didn’t know before, especially when it’s something that very few people or absolutely nobody else knew before.

If you were a type of tree, what would you be?

If Nirei were a tree, I like to think he’d be an oak tree. Oak trees symbolize strength, courage, and knowledge. While he isn’t nearly as physically strong as most of the other Furin students, Nirei has a lot of emotional strength and strength of character. While he’s often fearful and terrified of a lot of things, especially of getting hurt, he shows courage again and again, facing his fears each and every time in his efforts to be someone he can be proud of and to be someone like those he admires. And, of course, as shown in canon, Nirei is among the most knowledgeable and intelligent of the Furin students. In just smarts alone, I’d put him on par with Suo and even Suo has admitted that, in some areas, like memorization, Nirei outstrips him.

When you looked in the mirror this morning what was the first thing you thought?

Though he tries his best to take care of himself, I think Nirei has acne prone skin. The first thing when he looked in the mirror in the morning, he noticed a pimple coming out on his chin and probably thought ‘ugh, not again’ before sticking on a pimple patch that he’ll keep on while he gets ready for school.

HAYATO SUO

What shirt are you wearing?

Suo, as seen in canon, prefers a lot of Chinese style shirts, often longer ones. Pretty sure they’re called changshan, but not entirely sure, so I apologize in advance if I am wrong or racist in any of my wording there. Suo prefers wearing lighter colours for the most part, so I think his shirt of the day is the one we see him in most, which he has multiple of (four, in fact, just because he finds them the most comfortable and has grown used to having multiples of the clothes he likes the most. When he was in his training years, he was tough on his clothes, so he learned to stock up on multiples of the things he really liked, just so he could still have them if the one he was wearing got torn or stained too badly to wear again.)

What do you label yourself as?

Suo doesn’t label himself as anything. He doesn’t really like the act of labelling people, diminishing them into just one category or box. People are so much more than they appear, by looks or personality, on the surface. Everyone has hidden depths, something Suo is very aware of. There’s so much more to him, after all, than he shows most people, especially at first, and he’s constantly being taught that lesson over and over again in the people around him. When he slips up and does judge someone or boxes them into one category, they have a way of surprising him, especially Nirei and Sakura. Because he hesitates to label others or is taught after doing so how wrong he was, he doesn’t insist on labeling himself as anything in particular either. He won’t stop others from doing so for him, but he’ll find ways to surprise them and shake their label off.

Bright room or dark room?

For Suo, it’s bright room all the way. He doesn’t much see the point of sitting around in the dark. While he’s mindful of his energy uses and always relies on natural light whenever possible, once things do get dark outside, he’s turning on a light. He’s a big light kind of person and if it doesn’t do the job of shedding enough light where he’s currently sitting, he doesn’t hesitate to also turn on a table lamp or desk lamp for extra light. On top of just natural preference, he does have diminished eyesight because of his old injury and he does require things to be rather bright to properly read or do things, which explains his lack of hesitation in using multiple light sources. The only time he prefers things to be completely dark is when he goes to bed – any light peeking in tends to make it hard for him to fall asleep unless he’s injured or just extremely exhausted.

TAIGA TSUGEURA

What were you doing at midnight last night?

Sleeping. Tsuge is someone who takes great pride in his body, his physical shape, and his health. He eats healthy, he hydrates, he works out, and to balance that all out, he knows that he has to sleep the proper amount too. If anything, he sleeps a little more than the average person and tends to be early to bed. He’s got a set bedtime routine that’s rarely interrupted and when it is, it’s only because of something he takes seriously – night patrols, for example, or the invasion of Furin. He’s normally in bed by nine at night at the latest, so that he can get nine to ten straight hours of deep sleep. If he's put in a lot of work and is really tired, it’s nothing for him to turn in at seven or eight at night.

Favourite age you’ve been so far?

Tsuge’s favourite age he’s been is whatever age he currently is. He’s a little simple-minded that way. His life is always the best at whatever point he’s currently at. Even if he’s going through something hard or something sad, it’s still his best life because he’s learning, growing, and giving it his all. Every year he’s lived was his best year because he was the best version of himself that he could be at that time.

Who told you they loved you last?

The last person who told Tsuge ‘I love you’ was his mother. His mother says it to him every morning before he heads out and, because he isn’t ashamed to show his feelings and doesn’t think it’s unmanly at all to show your mother love, he says ‘I love you’ back to her.

MITSUKI KIRYU

Your worst enemy?

While people might be expecting the name of an actual person and that is probably how this question is meant, that’s not the answer I think of when it comes to Kiryu. There are definitely types of people that Kiryu doesn’t like, but nobody he hates to that degree of classifying them as his ‘worst enemy.’ No, Kiryu’s worst enemy is a thing, namely boredom. He’s not a person who can handle being bored. It doesn’t suit him, it annoys him, and he gets really antsy. He has to be doing something. It’s part of why he has so many mobile games, on top of enjoying them. He needs something to occupy any idle moments because he doesn’t like being bored. He even started fighting, half because he had to, but also because it was something to kill time and something to kill that boredom. I think he’s a person who is also really prone to boredom, which makes it all even worse for him.

What is your current desktop picture?

I like to think the current phone background picture that Kiryu has is of him with the rest of the class, a big group photo that he convinced them all to take. He loves it. If it’s not that, it’s typically a picture of him with one of his friends since he takes a lot of photos like that or something cutesy, like a really pretty drink he had or a super cute snack he had or a cute cat that he came across.

Do you like someone?

There’s a lot of people Kiryu likes. He’s not stuck with just one particular type of person he likes because Kiryu is someone who is able to see everyone’s strong points. Even the people that come off as ‘too strong’ or a ‘little too much’ like Tsuge did at first, Kiryu can learn to like and respect. He is quick to spot the good in others. If this question was meant in a romantic way, I think the answer also applies – there’s a lot of people that pique his interest. At the moment, Kiryu isn’t really searching for anything super serious and he’s not on the hunt for a serious, committed relationship. If it happens, it happens, but it’s not something he’s actively searching for. He prefers a lot of casual dates with different people that he meets because he enjoys hanging around with a lot of different people, exposing himself to fun things, different ways of thinking, people who will change or challenge him, people who will help shape him or will simply show him a good time and entertain him.

KYOTARO SUGISHITA

The last song you listened to?

Sugishita doesn’t listen to a lot of music, honestly. It’s not a huge thing for him and when he does, it’s normally whatever those around him are listening to or things that have been recommended to him. Hiragi and Tsubaki recommend music to him the most, but of course Sugishita puts the most priority on music that’s recommended to him by Umemiya. The last song he listened to was recommended to him by Umemiya, something that Kotoha had singing along to in the café when Ume had stopped by. For anyone curious, the song, in my head, was Lilac by Mrs. GREEN APPLE.

You can press a button that will make any one person explode. Who would you blow up?

This is a really difficult decision for Sugishita. It’s not because there’s nobody he can think of. Honestly, a lot of people pop up into his head – those who have hurt Umemiya or who cause him trouble, those who threaten the town, and I will admit Sakura pops into his head. But Sugishita is still going to hesitate. He can’t really bring himself to push the button. Yeah, there’s people who he thinks of. There’s people he’d like to see gone, because they annoy him or anger him, because they make him feel so much and Sugishita is not great when it comes to feeling things. But there’s a voice in his head that overrides those names with so much conflict and it’s the voice of his conscious. Despite having a bad temper, Sugishita is a really good person at his core. He doesn’t really want to hurt anybody, not to that extent. Even if he’s not physically killing anyone, even if all he’s doing is pushing a button, he can’t bring himself to do it. He can’t bring himself to take a human life knowingly and, yeah, part of it is that he couldn’t bring himself to face Umemiya or any of the other’s again if he did it, he couldn’t bring himself to face his grandparent’s if he did it, but he also, and most importantly, couldn’t face himself if he did it.

Who would you really like to just punch in the face?

Sakura. Which he has done and will do again, probably several times. The two are just too similar and too hotheaded for them not to clash and since both of them speak best through fighting, it’s what works for them.

MASAKI ANZAI

Random Anzai Headcanon

I think that, at one time, when they were younger, Anzai had a childish crush on Tsuchiya. Anzai had talked about his crush with Nagato, who told Anzai that he also had a crush on Tsuchiya. It makes them laugh, looking back on it, because while both of their crushes have faded away to just friendly feelings for their other best friend, both of them had been adamant at the time that they wouldn’t make any move to confess to Tsuchiya and that the other one should. It was the biggest argument the two boys had had and it actually came to blows between the two of them, that the other should go for it. In the end, they drew against each other in the fight, so neither confessed, which is pretty good because, after a few months, they were both over their precocious crushes on her and had moved on to other childhood crushes.

What is your best physical attribute?

Anzai does worry that he’s too plain looking. He doesn’t really know how to spice up his style though in a way that doesn’t seem too flashy or gaudy, which are both looks that he personally would be too embarrassed to step out in. He’d have to think a while if someone asked, but in the end he does think that he has nice eyes and he has pretty broad shoulders for his slim frame, which he really likes.

If you were the opposite sex for one day, what would you look like and what would you do?

If Anazai was gender-swapped for a day, I think he’d look like a generically cute but tomboyish schoolgirl. She’d be pretty average height, with a skinny build, pretty flat-chested, but with really long legs. She’d keep her hair short, in a pixie-cut similar to what boy Anzai has and her brows? Naturally the kind of brows a lot of other girl’s would kill to have. She doesn’t wear any makeup other than lip-gloss and sticks to pretty sporty looking clothes. As for what Anzai would do if he suddenly found himself in the position where he fell asleep a boy and woke up a girl, he’d definitely freak out for a good long amount of time. He’d be so curious about how it happened, would it be permanent, etc. He’s half-frightened, half just plain freaked out. Once he learns it’s not going to be permanent, he’s going to be more comfortable with the idea and more curious about the form he’s found himself in. I’m not going to lie – he’s a teenage boy, he’s going to be curious about checking out his new female form in a mirror and feeling the difference in his body – not just sexually, but just a general curiosity about what it physically feels like under his hand and how it feels to move around and do his daily things while living like a girl. Peeing as a girl is going to get him every time he does it. He’d take the day off of school – he can’t really just barge into the all-boys school as a girl, after all, but he’d want to go out and show off his new form to his friends, both his one’s from Furin and his childhood friend’s. He’d have fun hiding who he is from people he knows to see how different they treat him, though he’d eventually let them in on it. He definitely does some shopping, though it’s all window shopping – girls have some cute clothes and accessories and he has fun trying them on.

JUNPEI KURITA

Do you have a secret talent? If yes, what is it?

While it’s not a super unique talent or anything and isn’t super surprising or anything, Kurita’s actually a pretty talented baseball player. He played baseball, both just with other boys around and in his elementary and middle school years, and he’s a good player. He’s kind of a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none kind of player though. He can perform most roles competently, but not to the same ability as someone who’s really good at those particular roles. He normally got stuck playing a lot of fill-in positions, going into whatever position the others didn’t want or filling in for players who got injured.

What is one unique thing you’re afraid of?

It’s not a unique fear, because Kurita is afraid of sharks. What is a little unique is that, despite the fact that the town isn’t located anywhere near where there is sharks, Kurita is afraid, though he doesn’t like to admit it, that someday he will wake up, roll over, and there will be a shark right there, that has burst through his window and it will just nom him and he will die. He probably should not have watched Sharknado.

Random Kurita headcanon

He can’t whistle. He can’t snap his fingers. He can’t pop, crack, or snap any of his joints or body parts. Even when his stomach rumbles, it’s an insanely low sound, barely at all audible. He has to put effort into making his footsteps heard. His body just doesn’t like to make sounds.

YURI KAKIUCHI

You just found $100! How are you going to spend it?

Despite being a delinquent, because he is a Furin student, he’s likely to ask around to find out if one of the townspeople lost the money. He’s likely to have found it while on patrol and he wants to make sure that if it was someone in town who lost it that it gets returned to them. If no one claims the money, though, and he gets to keep it, there is one of three primary ways that Kakiuchi would spend it. He’d either spend it on new toys, treats, or things for his puppies, on new skincare stuff, or he’d spend it on dates.

You just got a free plane ticket to anywhere in the world, but you have to leave immediately. Where are you going to go?

This one would be a hard decision for Kakiuchi. He’s never really had much of a desire to travel and hasn’t really thought about where he’d like to visit or go to. He’s pretty happy just living his everyday life in the town. He’d probably ask if the plane ticket could come with a couple other free plane tickets for his friends, because he doesn’t really see a whole lotta appeal in solo traveling. If it didn’t though, and he had no choice but to use the ticket, he'd likely choose somewhere warm, but somewhere that isn’t just beaches and swimming. He can’t swim after all, and those kinds of vacations would bore him, but he also isn’t a huge fan of the cold weather. He’d probably go somewhere like France during the summer and would take a tour of the vineyards, eat a lot of fantastic foods, see the local sights, and come back with lots of cool souvenirs for the others, for his family, and for the people he is currently dating.

An angel appears out of Heaven and offers you a lifetime supply of the alcoholic beverage of your choice. “Be brand-specific,” it says. Man! What are you gonna say about that? Even if you don’t drink booze, there’s something you can figure out…so what’s it gonna be?

Saito Shuzo’s Junmai Daiginjo Draft 300. It’s his old man’s favourite and, while Kakiuchi’s not of legal drinking age yet, his old man has allowed him to try a sip from his cup a couple times and Kakiuchi’s always enjoyed the taste. Even if, after finding out he doesn’t like it as much as he thought he would after a full cup, he could always keep his old man supplied with his preferred booze and that would make both father and son very happy.

TSUKASA TAKANASHI

You discover a beautiful island upon which you may build your own society. You make the rules. What is the first rule you put into place?

This is a difficult choice. Takanashi’s a pretty logical thinker and because of this, when he’s faced with this situation, he understands that it’s a choice that just can’t be made on the fly. It’s something that needs to be sat down and really considered. There’s a lot of emotional responses in him – ideas for rules that are solely based on what he feels, wants, and desires. But he realizes that, if he’s in the position where he’s creating an ideal society, that he can’t simply prioritize his own wants. He needs to be fair. After a lot of waffling, deliberating, and talking it out with others, I think the first rule he’d make is that everyone should contribute what they can and help each other out. The community should take care of it’s own and everyone should do what they can, making the best use of their abilities. That doesn’t mean that everyone needs to do hard physical labour – if someone’s talented at sewing, they pitch in in repairing and making clothes. If someone’s not real great at anything other than singing, then they sing songs to entertain the others. If all someone can do is fight, then they can use that strength to defend from outsiders or break up internal conflicts. His second rule? Nobody gets to hit on his girlfriend besides him.

What is your favourite expletive?

I think Takanashi’s most used expletive is probably shit. He uses it for a lot of different situations – ‘shit, this is boring,’ ‘holy shit, that’s exciting,’ ‘I gotta take a shit,’ ‘this tastes like shit,’ ‘that’s some cool shit over there’, etc.

Random Takanashi Headcanon

Simple headcanon, but I think he wants to work in a restaurant when he gets out of high school. While he’d really like to go into culinary school, he realizes that he’s not exactly the type who gets into higher learning, but he’d be equally happy just being a prep cook, where he’ll do his best and hope to rise through the ranks and learn from the head chef.

REN KAJI

You can erase any horrible experience from your past. What will it be?

Spoilers for anime only fans, sorry! But we kind of see that experience in the manga…if Kaji could, he’d take back and erase that day where he went into one of his berserk fits and went after his own friends, beating them up as well. We see how badly it impacted him – him realizing what he did and vomiting as a result of it, how hard he took it, how he doesn’t seem to really have forgiven himself fully for that. It’s one of the worst days of his entire life and if he had a chance to erase it from ever having happened, he would.

You got kicked out of the country for being a time-traveling heathen who sleeps with celebrities and has super-powers. But check out this cool shit…you can move to anywhere else in the world!

Much like with Kakiuchi, Kaji actually enjoys the town he lives in. He likes the people there, he likes his life there, he has good friends and a purpose. If he had no choice but to move someone else though, I think he’d gravitate towards either America or Germany. Hiragi has really gotten Kaji into rock music from both areas, but overall, I think Germany would win out. It’s mostly down to Rammstein and Can are two of Kaji’s favourite foreign bands.

The Celestial Gates of Beyond have opened, much to your surprise because you didn’t think such a thing existed. Death appears. As it turns out, Death is actually a pretty cool entity, and happens to be in a fantastic mood. Death offers to return the friend/family member/person/etc. of your choice to the living world. Who will you bring back?

Well, first off, I don’t think Kaji would actually be too surprised at the existence of such things as an afterlife. Though he was raised loosely Buddhist, he’s not really a practicing one, but he still retains some of their beliefs in there being an afterlife and cycle of reincarnation. Because of his belief in that, he hesitates to bring anyone back. For one thing, the dead should be respected. Even if he had someone he really wished for back, though he doesn’t really, they had their life. Wherever they are now is a result of that life and they’re where they’re at because they still have things left to learn and likely a happy, new life. He wouldn’t want to upset the balance like that or to cheapen the life they’d already lived with him by just yanking them away from wherever they were now at, the place they were hopefully happy in.

TAKESHI ENOMOTO

What was your last dream about?

Enomoto’s last dream was a weird one. He’s prone to weird dreams, super vivid ones where he clearly remembers them upon waking up, that seem almost real. They tend to meander and random things just happen. In his last dream, he was fighting Josuke Higashikata, pulling out all the stops. He’d brought out his stand, it looked super cool, everything was badass. He seemed to be holding his own, but Josuke just kept growing taller, bigger, and bulkier and Enomoto knew he was about to lose. Then the Queen of England showed up, except she was really tiny, only about to Enomoto’s knees, and she started hitting him with a cane and telling him to let her take care of it, not to be such a hasty boy, and then the next thing he knew, he was in a medieval castle being knighted as the kingdom’s next vampire slayer and it was all weird. Thankfully, he doesn’t subscribe to the idea that dreams mean anything in particular, so his weird dreams don’t really phase him.

Are you a good son?

I used son here because I just want to rant on this. Enomoto is a delinquent. He relishes in being one. He’s modeled a lot of his appearance and mannerisms on the delinquent stereotypes because he genuinely thinks it’s cool. That being said, he has a really sensitive side that comes out that isn’t typically expected of delinquents. He really respects and loves both of his parents. He will argue with his father, but it’s good-natured and his father’s approval means a great deal to Enomoto. He’s a bit of a momma’s boy, always trying to make her happy. He helps her out with the housework whenever possible, does chores around the yard for her without her having to nag. He really does care very much about being a good son and it’s just as much a part of his identity as his delinquent side is.

Have you ever been admitted to the hospital?

Yes. Enomoto has been scrapping, brawling, and fighting since he was in elementary school. He doesn’t believe in holding back and he has put himself in some dangerous positions and picked some fights that he knew from the outset that he was likely going to lose. He’s gotten knocked around, beat up, and completely taken down. In a fight in his late elementary school years, he even had his left arm broken. He didn’t let him keep him down for long though. Once he’d gotten used to the cast, when push came to shove, he just learned how to fight using his legs a lot more than he had been.

YUTO KUSUMI

Have you ever built a snowman?

Yes, but not often. It’s not Yuto’s go-to activity in the winter and it never has been. He hasn’t made one since he was a kid and even then, he only made them if the other kid’s he was playing with really wanted to. Winter, to Yuto, was made for snowtubing or sledding and that’s the thing he’d do the most, along with snowball wars. Yes, wars, not fights. Fights is too small for what he and his friend’s did, which were hour-long, well thought out snowball fights with full fortresses (at least, the best fortresses that kids can make out of snow).

What is the colour of your socks?

At current, his socks are green with white polka-dots. Cute, funny, or whimsical socks are something that Yuto loves. They’re not things that most people see or notice, so he feels he can get away with more when it comes to them. Even if no one else will see them that day because of the pants he’s wearing, wearing those types of socks just starts his day off in a fun and happy way.

What type of music do you like?

Yuto likes a lot of upbeat music. He listens to a lot of pop music, mostly Japanese, Korean, and Chinese. However, he’s also a big fan of a lot of anime opening songs, which tend to be high-energy, very upbeat, and have a lot of motivating lyrics, so those tend to pop up on his playlists as well.

YODAI MATSUMOTO

Do you prefer sunrises or sunsets?

Matsumoto is sunsets all the way. He’s not an early riser by any means and he’d prefer to be sleeping when the sun comes up. If he wakes up and it’s still dark, that just logically means, in his mind, that it’s not time for him to be awake yet. Because of this, he doesn’t really see many sunrises, but he can always appreciate the beauty of a good sunset, though his favourite ones are the ones just after a big storm has come and gone, when the sky looks vaguely hazy but still has all those brilliant sunset colours in it.

What is your favourite milkshake flavour?

Just going to put it out here, but Matsumoto is one of those people who would have actually enjoyed those horrible Grimace milkshakes. He likes weird flavours for his milkshakes and he’s always trying out new flavour combinations. His favourite flavour combination is a peanut butter strawberry milkshake.

Random Matsumoto Headcanon!

He needs to redo his mohawk, both colouring and cutting/shaping it at least once every month. He has an older sister that he always ropes into doing this for him because she’s currently studying to be a hairdresser. He points out that it’s good practice for her and offers to be a model for her work if it’s ever needed.

JIEN YANAGIDA

Do you have any scars?

Yes. Yanagida actually has a lot of scars, some of them more notable than others. He’s got a pretty sizeable one on his leg from falling on a chunk of broken bottle during a fight and, because he has a pet cat who is rather temperamental, he’s got a lot of very faint, minute scars from playing with her. He’s also got a slightly round shaped scar on the bottom of his foot from putting a nail up through his foot when he was a kid.

What do you want to be when you graduate?

That’s the big question, isn’t it? It’s a big question for him, at least. Jien really doesn’t know and that bothers him. He’s not someone with grand ambitions or big dreams. He doesn’t really have any career aspirations. He wants a job where he can work steady hours but that won’t consume his life and he wants to enjoy the work. That’s about the most that he knows. He doesn’t want to do office work, but other than that, he’s weighing his options and hoping to find out what will bring him joy after graduating.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

Yanagida wishes he had a little more confidence. He wishes he could speak louder, with force and confidence behind it, like Umemiya or Hiragi does. He’s a really quiet guy and honestly, he’s not the most confident in himself. It’s not that he hates himself, because he doesn’t, but more that he finds himself plain, boring, and just pretty…meh. He doesn’t see why anyone should want to pay him special attention or should listen to him over other people. He has friends at his side who have been boosting his self-esteem over the years though and, at the point where we meet Yanagida, he’s actually gotten louder and more outspoken than he used to be. He hardly ever used to speak and when he did, no matter how hard he tried, it would barely come out as above a whisper.

URYU SAKAKI

Are you reliable?

Yes and no. To further explain, I will say that there are definitely situations where Uryu is incredibly reliable. When it comes to his responsibilities to the school, to the town, and to Tsubaki, there is absolutely no question that Uryu is someone who can be relied on. He doesn’t back down in a fight and he would never run away from one. If his friends or family needs him, he’s there and he’s learned to subscribe to Ume and Tsubaki’s definition of family extending to the entirety of the town and his fellow Bofurin students. Instead, Uryu’s unreliable in small and less important ways. He’s next to never going to reply to texts and he will duck phone calls if he’s not interested in talking at the moment. His own whims and moods dictate a lot, so he might not even show up to plans that were made that aren’t really all that important. Sometimes this even extends to plans made with Seiryu or Tsubaki…he might turn up late, he might not turn up at all. He forgets a lot of little, insubstantial thing. Send him out on an errand and there’s always going to be that one thing he forgets, even if it’s on the list.

If you could ask your future self one question, what would it be?

Uryu would be stuck at decision anxiety if faced with this situation. There’s a lot of potential questions to ask, all with their own merit. He’s a little overwhelmed just with all possibilities. How does he die? But does he really want to know that? What if it’s something that could happen at any moment? Then he’d be afraid a lot of the time. Does he have a family in the future? But would knowing that lead to him passing up opportunities with people or different places his life could go, just because he’s now sure he’ll end up with this person and that his life will go this specific way? Does he ever become someone important? But then, if the answer is no, would he be sad with the answer? Is he happy in his future? But what if the answer is no? There’s just so many drawbacks and potential pitfalls to such a question that Uryu couldn’t really come up with a good question and so he would ask a dumb, simple, but useful question – what should he eat that night? He’s getting hungry after all.

Do you hold grudges?

Yes. So much yes. Uryu, despite seeming like the more laid-back of the two, can be petty as fuck. In most ways, Uryu definitely is pretty chill, relaxed, and laid-back. He’s got a pretty long fuse and his temper doesn’t get triggered too often. When he does get one of his buttons pushed and gets annoyed, or when he actually does lose his temper though, Uryu is incredibly petty about it. He’s had this pointed out to him and he does try to keep himself from being too extra in his pettiness, but he’s also someone who says he isn’t as good a person as his brother or Tsubaki. He holds grudges, sometimes for years, and there are grudges against people that he will take to his deathbed.

SEIRYU SAKAKI

Are you a good liar?

Seiryu is actually a really good liar. He’s got a natural poker face and it’s hard for most people to know what he’s really thinking at any given time. He’s glib with his words and he can lie very easily. Most of his lies are white lies, meant to boost someone’s self-esteem or to be kind, or they are lies that serve a purpose. He’s a bit of a prankster, though the pranks are generally well-intentioned instead of mean, and he will happily stack lie upon lie to have a prank come off exactly as he wants it to. While he’s gifted at it, it’s not too often that Seiryu will choose to lie about big or important things or to lie maliciously. He can be a little childish at times though, and he’ll tell little ‘mean’ lies, like pretending he wasn’t responsible for breaking something at home so he doesn’t get grounded or punished or pretending he wasn’t the one who ate his brother’s pudding, just little things like that.

If you could breed two animals together to defy the laws of nature, what new animal would you create?

It’s going to sound like the weirdest combination, but Seiryu would breed a snake and a cat together. Like, the fluffiest cat ever known to cat, that’s the breed he wants and the snake can’t be too small or too big – something like a mid-sized boa. His ideal would be that the resulting animal would still be very snake-shaped and could still curl itself around his shoulders and just hang out there but would have the fluffy and soft fur of the cat, along with the purring sound and playful, cuddly nature.

Random Seiryu Headcanon

Seiryu’s usual profile pictures in group chats and online is of his face. He’s so damn good at taking selfies. He’s someone who is photogenic by nature, so it’s very rare that he takes bad pictures, but he has put work and effort into learning his angles, the right lighting, how to use filters in ways that look natural and good. He takes a lot of photos of himself, both to post as OOTD inspiration for others, but also just because he’s a little vain in some ways.

TASUKU TSUBAKINO

How long could you go without talking?

Tsubaki could be called a chatterbox, but it’s in the best of ways. She’s very sociable and enjoys talking to and connecting with others. It’s not impossible for her to stop talking or anything. She does have her quiet moments and she doesn’t monopolize conversations or demand the attention in conversations all the time. She’s aware that listening, actively listening, is just as important as talking, but she does talk quite a bit. When she’s alone, she’s not completely silent, as she has a habit of talking to herself. She also actually sleep-talks, so I’d say the longest she goes without talking at all is only a couple of hours.

What has been your worst haircut/style?

When Tsubaki was really small, like maybe three or four, her parents shaved her head. It was the simplest way to take care of the problem and, in their minds, there wasn’t as much fuss over a little boy’s hair as there would have been over a little girl’s hair. Shaving it seemed the optimal solution so that’s what happened. Her parents kept her head shaved close for the next couple of years. It wasn’t until her second year in elementary that she complained to her parents to allow her to start growing her hair again and even then, it was kept pretty short. She would say, though, that the shaved head look was the worst haircut she’d ever had and the one that affected her the most. She hated looking in the mirror every time but there wasn’t much, at the time, that she felt she could say about it. After all, everything she’d learned told her that little boys shouldn’t care about something like their hair and she wasn’t ready, at that point, to combat those social expectations and gender roles.

Have you ever baked your own cake?

Tsubaki can bake and enjoys it. She’s not amazing at it, but everything she makes is both edible and tastes good enough. However, baking is something she enjoys doing for others or with other people. That’s when it’s fun for her. To make sweets for herself? It’s not something that’s ever entered her mind, especially because, if she’s really craving something sweet, she’s either usually given it by someone else or can easily buy it for herself from someone whose baking is top tier.

TOMA HIRAGI

Can you do any accents other than your own?

No but kind of? I know that statement makes zero sense, haha, but I’ll do my best to explain. Hiragi can kind of emulate some of the regional dialects of Japan. He can fake a Kansai dialect or an Osaka dialect but only kind of. It’s obvious what he’s trying to do when he pulls them and the person listening can tell that he’s going for sounding like those dialects but they’re definitely far from sounding exactly like those dialects. He’s tried other accents, foreign ones, before but none of them sound even vaguely right. He's just got no talent for them. At the best, when he tries to put on those foreign accents, he sounds like he’s plain out mocking them or making fun of them because they will be so exaggerated and almost cartoonish. He’s really not trying to make fun of them because Hiragi actually really thinks most foreign accents sound super cool. It’s just that he sucks so hard at putting on accents or changing his voice in any meaningful way.

What do you like on your toast?

Hiragi is pretty big on toast in general. It’s nice and simple, easy to make and eat and most importantly, it never upsets his stomach, which a lot of other foods can. He eats it pretty simply too, usually just with butter or margarine (normally more margarine). However, if he’s feeling really hungry that morning or really up to having something a bit more ‘fancy,’ he’ll add some honey onto it, then layer it with some bacon and a fried egg.

What is the last thing you drew a picture of?

Hiragi isn’t a great artist. He’s nowhere near the level of Momose, for example. However, that doesn’t mean he never draws or doesn’t enjoy it. He’s mostly a doodler though instead of being someone who sits down and purposefully tries to draw a picture. He doodles a lot of random patterns and symbols and he’s also gotten really good at doodling the Gasukun mascot.

HAJIME UMEMIYA

What would be your dream car?

Ume’s not really much of a car guy. That’s not to say that, when he comes across or sees a really cool car somewhere that he’s not going to notice it or comment on it. He definitely will, especially if someone else is showing it to him. If someone else is showing it to him and they’re obviously excited about the cool car, Ume’s all in on it because he loves seeing other people be passionate and excited about things. But on his own, he really doesn’t care a lot about cars and doesn’t know a lot about them really. If he had to pick a vehicle himself, it’s going to be one that a lot of people would make fun of. I definitely headcanon Umemiya as someone who would definitely drive either a van or a mini-van. Full on sports mom minivan or a larger, but still family friendly van. Umemiya prefers, when it comes to cars, for the vehicle to be more useful than just pretty. A van allows him more seating space so that he can take more of his ‘family’ on road trips or so that he can have more options to seat the kids from the foster home. It also allows him more cargo space, which makes the vehicle more helpful when it comes to running errands or helping out around the town.

Do you believe in aliens?

I don’t think Umemiya believes in aliens per se. I think Ume believes that there’s a lot of possibilities in the world. He believes there’s a lot that people don’t know or haven’t discovered in just our regular everyday life, not even taking into account the whole wide universe of space. On top of that, Ume does believe there’s more to life than just the earthly plane humans inhabit. He believes in some kind of higher power and if he’s willing to believe in something he’s never personally seen like that, he feels it would be closed-minded of him to just shut down the idea of other things, like aliens, existing. He doesn’t really have too much of a personal interest or stake in whether they exist. It’s not something he thinks about a lot or dwells on, but he’ll talk about it if someone else brings it up and he’ll be interested to hear other’s points of view on the subject.

Do you sing in the shower? Or do anything unusual in the shower? Explain.

Umemiya doesn’t sing in the shower. He might hum, if he’s had an amazing day, but he never outright sings in the shower. It’s never really occurred to him to do so. However, he does do something kind of odd in the shower – he brushes his teeth in the shower every time he showers, which is usually in the evening. It’s just simpler to consolidate the tasks into one instead of him showering, getting out, doing his skincare routine, brushing his teeth, brushing his hair, etc. For those wondering, this does mean he tends to do his simple skincare routine while showering too, as well as brushing his teeth. He only saves brushing his hair for after the shower and that’s because he normally forgets to do it until the morning.

SAKU MIZUKI

Do you often read your horoscope?

No. This is just a plain out, super-solid no for Mizuki. While he can definitely enjoy some suspension of disbelief things and can be a little bit of a daydreamer at times, that sense of whimsy doesn’t carry over to the ‘mystical.’ Things like horoscopes seem silly to Mizuki. He doesn’t believe in them and, though he knows his sun sign, it’s mostly because of people around him who are really into horoscopes and tell him information about it. For the most part, he kind of looks down on astrology as just generalized crap and doesn’t think they’re any more accurate than a personality quiz in a magazine would be.

What is your favourite letter of the alphabet?

S for sentai, of course! This applies to both the military units but especially to Super Sentai as a genre, which is a huge passion of Mizuki’s.

What is cooler: dinosaurs or dragons?

Mizuki never really got into dinosaurs. They’re cool and he enjoyed learning about them in school and from others. The stegosaurus was his favourite. He enjoys seeing dinosaurs used in shows, but they’re not a huge thing with him. Dragons though? Everybody, in Mizuki’s opinion, knows that dragons are just flat out badass. They’re not real, obviously, but that kind of makes it cooler to Mizuki. They’re such an evocative thing for the imagination, they look cool, he enjoys the cultural symbolism for them, and the use of them in a lot of media. Overall, dragons are definitely going to be the way he leans.

TAKUMI MOMOSE

What do you think about babies?

Momose looks very young and childish himself. Being a member of Bofurin and a feared fighter, one of the Four Kings, a lot of people would expect him to have a really thuggish personality too, with little to no tolerance for younger kids. That’s very untrue though. Momose actually likes kids and they take to him really quickly. He’s a little more hesitant around babies, just because they are incredibly fragile, but he still enjoys them. He’ll have no trouble holding someone’s baby for them while the parent has to do something and most babies don’t cry too much while around them. When the baby does start crying, Momose isn’t the type to freak out about it but will try to find the solution to why the baby is crying. However, for the most part, he bonds better and enjoys kids when they’re a little older – at least old enough to talk and do some things for themselves.

Random Momose headcanon!

Momose’s big into art, as shown in canon, and he’s capable of putting out some amazing stuff. He’s been that way since he was a kid – it was manga and American comics that got him into drawing, but he really likes exploring all different art styles. He actually studies them and learns about the different styles, periods, and techniques. It’s something he’s passionate about and pours a lot of effort into. He can not only draw well, but he paints, both acrylic and watercolor. He’s tried pottery and clay sculptures but he is really interested in learning how to deal with metal crafting so that he can create more complex works of art using various mediums. He also has an interest in glassblowing, but he’s a little afraid to attempt it.

"Hey, Ichigo?"

A green spear of light struck through your chest. A large creature stood behind you, leaving you to your lifeless collapse without a glance as he retrieved his weapon. Black hair drifted at the behest of an unwilling gust but his long wings split through the vengeful draft.

Ichigo, without any heart left in him, still found the spirit to watch your corpse fail to breath. Feel the cold air that stung at his silver tears. He could muster the strength to hear his friends calling for him from a whole world away. Their throats shredding as they screeched for him but now, it was only a cruel reminder that he would never hear you say his name again.

Weak knees crumpled to a hard surface and though Ichigo couldn't see its physical result, his heart had already left him. Gone to be with you instead.

A black hole ate away from the middle of the ginger's chest, his face contorting into uncanny pain as your flattened body burned itself into the back of Ichigo's unblinking eyes. His once-strong body slowly collapsed to share the same floor you lay on.

It least you both could be connected in that sense, one last time.

A smile you would bear only for him echoed through his hollow body. Only once but it was enough and a pulse of emotion filled the dying Kurosaki.

Ichigo grabbed at your wrist and dragged you close with a pompous smile, losing his grip to wrap his arm around your head and place a perfect kiss on your hairy crown.

He laughed as you turned red.

There was nothing left, nothing like you to hold back this abhorrent feeling. Ichigo's hair grew long and his body larger. The begging screams of Orihime couldn’t exist to him in this moment.

A monstrous roar filled Hueco Mundo.
