Le doux vent d'été soufflé par Artemis m'a murmuré de marcher dans l'avenue des poisons locaux jusqu'au carrefour de la mer en passant par le parc des souvenirs afin de profiter de la beauté et de la puissance de ma ville. Pendant longtemps Marseille ne m'insiprait que le dégoût alors que j'idéalisais les forêts et les campagnes de France. Une sorcière de ville jaloux de ses frères et soeurs perdu dans les villages et la nature. Mais aujourd'hui je revendique avec joie ce statu de sorcière de ville, car la mienne est tellement mystique riche de culture ! Je n'ai pas besoin de commander des ingrédients de l'autre bout du monde. Car tout est là à chaque coin de rue. Chaque carrefour entre la colline et la mer regorge de trésors cachés ! Je prend plaisir à explorer ma ville et étudier mon territoire que je ne quitterai jamais! I wasn’t really trying to “speak up” about an issue more than I was clarifying where I stood.  I don’t necessarily want to make anyone feel uncomfortable, but ultimately this is my blog and I determine the contents of it.  

I don’t have anything against Wiccans.  But I will not entertain unsolicited “advice” no matter how “concerned” the tone is.  In the end, it’s a backhanded way of making me feel guilty for my own beliefs. And I get enough of that from select fundamentalist/extremist Christians.

Exciting News!

I found out when visiting my Bubcia today that my great-great-grandmother was a Witch! She lived in the mountains in Poland and was the medicine woman/herbalist for her village. My own Bubcia is also magically minded and it seems like I might be too! Maybe it skips a generation. It's amazing to find out that these kinds of things may have always been in your blood! (Although you certainly don't need it to be a witch regardless!)

Leaping Hare Wall Hanging, by Urban Witchery (via Etsy)

Hare with its luna association and shapeshifting energies have long been considered a Witches familiar. In some folk lore Witches turned into hares to escape hunters, and make it safely back to their houses. Hares are also associated with hedge crossing, becoming a agile guide into the spirit world. This one is made with calico, printed cotten fabric and satin, and has a bamboo stick with cord so it can be hung on the wall.

Made myself a little green-witch plate today! To cleanse both my room and my crystals. Snapdragon for protection Clear quartz for healing Amethyst for calming Spirit Quartz for harmony Fluorite for mental awareness (since it's also my study!) And a dash of rough salt crystals and drop or three of moon water for cleansing and protection The white talisman at the back is to attract good luck during studies. I picked it up in Japan :) It's amazing the way something so innocuous can change the entire feeling of a room! The snapdragon stem is sitting in a pot of soil now so hopefully something grows from it :D
