Caught in mid-twirl, this red bloom is a sight to behold as it's gently held against the urban backdrop. Its petals curve with a flamenco dancer's flair, paired with vibrant, splay-tipped stamens reaching out like curious antennae.

This bad bitch right here is my favorite this summer. A common thistle, she was over 3 feet tall by the end of May. City landscaping guys have cut her down twice, but they haven't pulled her roots. She keeps coming back and I love her.

Check out this striking red flower, cradled in the gentle grasp of someone's hand against an urban backdrop. Its petals seem to dance in a swirling display of vibrant color!

This beauty right here, an ornamental crabapple I beleive, was one of my favorite trees on my walking route. Around this time every year she would literally be abuzz with pollinators of all sorts. I'd get to walk by several times a day.
Unfortunately, the building I worked in was condemned, demolished, and is now being developed into another parking lot. I was heartbroken to recently find out they felled her to expand the curb.
I was really looking forward to watching her pop off with those beautiful blossoms again this year, but I guess not.
I'm really gonna miss that tree.
